[Q] ATT .91 Radio or ATT 1.77-36p? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Which radio do I use? Which is the more recent version? I'm currently on base-band N_01.77.30P

36p is latest and so far best for me.

You are on the newest AT&T official radio as far as I know, but I have never heard of .36P until you mentioned it in this thread. There are several others you can try. For me, this one kept my phone cool and has the highest data speeds.
Edit: I see someone else mentioned .36P, when was that released?
DK

Not released yet. Pulled from the next GB release. ATT 2.3.5.
Check fruitcakes thread. Samcripp released it. He also released deodexed, rooted, ATT 2.3.5 build.

Anyone tried 1.77-36p with Telstra in Australia?

International Radios?

Hey there,
been having frequent signal cuts lately after flashing ATT radios on my international Atrix.
However, I did not find any hint about which radios can be used on international phones and which should not.
So, what radio should one use with an international Atrix?

Yeees...actually I did look there, but there is no information given about international devices. Each time someone brings a question regarding international phones, the discussion seems to overhear it.
There is just ATT (USA) and Bell (Canada) radios. It might be true, there exists an older Orange (UK) radio in the unlock thread. However, I started to wonder why there is no update on any other radio but overseas.
You know, either ATT/Bell really suck, making frequent radio updates neccessary, or Orange/O2/*insert any european carreer here* are plain lazy.
Edit: Ahh, right, the signal loss. Yes, I lost my mobile signal several times on Gingermod#4. Well, but everyone there insists on the signal loss being my fault for whatever I dont know reason at all.

Ah, thanks, it is a german atrix btw.
I restored my darkside prefinal backup with faux kernel + ATT .30p radio and everything works fine.
The signal cut issue might be related to using ATT radios and international stock kernels which I used in gingermod#4.
Will test and report
Edit:
Seems like the issue was not kernel related from the start. Freezing "data manger service" and "home"-launcher is not save on every ROM.

[Q] Radio Flash

Hey guys, I've had my Note for a while now and always came here for any questions (all of them previously have been answered until now)
I have CWM on my phone with the stock ROM and a different kernel on it.
While in an AT&T store the other day, one of the workers was explaining how to flash a att radio over.. So far, I have found no radios for it. He was telling me about an att radio that you could flash over (a modem radio) that would give you constant 4g LTE with att. I tend to have constant 4G HSPA+ but would love to test it on LTE speeds.
My question is, does anyone have a link to downloading the radio.
And does anyone have a link or quick explanation on how to flash the radio over?
He lied dude. You have to have lte in your area. If you don't, then it doesn't matter which modem you have. Gotta love how these guys have no clue how to do their own job(no offense to any reps that know how to do their job).

Confused Canadian RAZR user...

I'm using a GSM Canadian Droid RAZR purchased from Fido, running on the Virgin Mobile network. (Yeah, its complicated.)
System Version:
651.167.3331.XT910.Fido.en.CA
Android Version
2.3.6
I've been waiting all this time for the Verizon update, but only realized a week ago that Verizon is CDMA, and theres no chance I'll get it on my Fido branded RAZR.
What should I do to get ICS?
I hear there are China/LATAM versions of ICS, but I have a few questions about these:
1) Will there be any negative effects of using these builds on a Canadian network?
2) What languages are supported by these builds?
3) Would I be able to flash onto a FIDO version of ICS if that day ever comes?
Or should I attempt to flash onto an AOSP/AOKP based ICS? (I really hate the Moto bloatware).
Thanks in advance.
I am really incredibly confused right now.
I'm on the LATAM ICS. I have a rogers razr (on Telus), and it works great. I don't think you'll mind the bloatware as much as you think - they've really toned it down (and I HATE bloatware).
Hope that helps, I know I was confused for a while, but took the leap, and have loved every minute of ICS since I did.
I'm going to need to flash a latin american retail ROM right?
Yup, first you need to flash a GB LATAM rom. Then you're good to go to upgrade.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696459
Also on a Canadian Razr, using Rogers... How orignal. Latam roms are not much different from the stock roms we have, love ICS and have no problems or slow downs or had to reboot. Check the thread above, PM any questions.

I'm on Rogers xt910
Any chance we'll get it this week? Rogers never communicates anything...

[Q] what modem do I use with CM 10.1 M3?

Hi,
I am using CM 10.1 M3. I haven't updated my modem in a long time. It is I717UCLF6. Is that the right one? How do I know which one to use?

It's kinda hard to answer which modem you need without some more details. It's also a personal preference based on where you live. Some modems/radios work better in certain areas than others. What network are you on, AT&T? I'm on AT&T and heard the latest modem for our i717 is the i717UCMB4. You can flash that one in recovery. I used it and it works but for some reason the i717UCLD3 modem is working better for me. I got that modem when I used odin to install this rom, then flashing my favorite rom on top of it. Some people say the UCLF6 modem works better for them. You can get that one here and flash thru your recovery. Sorry I can't find the i717UCLD3 flashable zip. Maybe someone else has a link so you can flash between all 3 and see what works out best for ya.
No need to do any modem flashing. LF6 is the latest and greatest modem available.
Updating.....AT&T released 4.1.2 and a new baseband/modem which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261713 and is flashable from custom recovery.
I'm testing out a possible switch to T-Mobile. Had AT&T unlock my phone today and got a prepaid T-Mobile SIM in it. I'm getting H+ (LTE?) speeds while doing data transfer and then it drops back to 3G when data isn't being used heavily. I'm on UCLF6. Although I've had this phone for a year, installed tons of ROMs, compiled my own kernel, etc. I'm a noob when it comes to modems and have just used whatever worked. What's the advantage of using a "T-Mobile" modem if UCLF6 seems to be working on T-Mobile anyways? Do you get more speed out of it?
I don't want to lose AT&T compatibility yet as I just got the prepaid T-Mo to test out (been getting crappy reception with AT&T at work and tired of the expensive plan of minutes I don't use). If T-Mo improves my speeds at work I'll probably just pay to cancel my AT&T contract and transfer my number, but for now I'm just testing.
Well I am not sure about the baseband/modem issues on T-Mobile but most important would be the GSM Bands/LTE are compatible. As some AT&T phones don't support 3G/LTE frequencys T-Mobile use. If you are using a prepaid SIM it may not even support LTE for example Straight Talk on AT&T supposedly will only use HSPA+ .

[Q] What radio is in CM 11?

New to the Note world. Got a used AT&T i717 in excellent condition. Tried just about every recent ROM and radio combo (Blaze and 7 others). I'm using Wind Mobile. The only way I get any signal (even locking to 1700) is with Padawan's included AT&T radio. Even then it was pretty spotty.
Fast forward to my question. I just flashed the latest CM 11 and it's included radio is spectacular! While CM 11 is nice, I'd rather extract this radio and use it with BlackStar or something else slicker looking. Does anyone know what radio this is and/or how I can pull it out? The phone says baseband unknown.
Thanks!
I don't think CM11 includes a radio, I had UCLD3 before on 10.2 (got it when I had to reformat my phone entirely through Odin) and it's persisted across several ROMs now. I use my i717 on T-Mobile and had perfect LTE with UCLD3 and CM10.2, but I got my Note 3 now so my i717 is WiFi only now. Using CM11 now and although no SIM is inserted it still shows UCLD3 in the status.

Ah, a quick check shows you're right. Now I'm stuck to find which radio it was before. Very strange though since it must have been an "ICS" or earlier flash and it worked great with the 4.4 in CM 11.

My I717 has stock 2.3.6 on it and this is the radio it has. I found the file last night actually because I flashed the T-Mobile radio which gave me full 4g signal but no LTE. This radio depending on the strength of T-Mobile's LTE will give you LTE.
The stock ATT modem is UCLA1
