Question about LG optimus V - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi all
I wanted to ask all of you a question and see if you can guide me to the right direction. I have a virgin mobile Optimus V running bumblebee rom with clockwork mod. I wanted to upgrade my phone on virgin mobile to something newer and wanted to convert my LG optimus V to the Sprint Network. Is there a safe way to do this, and if there is is there any instructions on how to get this done the right way.
Also i might be wrong but not sure if the LG optimus s uses a different screen, but just looking for tips and how to tut.
Plus has anyone tried adding this to the sprint network and will i be able to add it once i convert it. do i just provide the SN of the phone or do they need anything else that the V phone don't have.
thanks for all your help
best regards
cd112

I doubt sprint will activate a virgin mobile ESN.
Call them and see if they'd be willing to activate your ESN.
You can flash sprint firmware to an OV, but there's no way to go back to the VM firmware, unfortunately. LG only released broken optimus V firmware files that won't flash.

Yes newbies do use the search button. I am also interested in the possibility of adding my Optimus V to a family plan on sprints network. Anyone have any luck?

[Q] LG OPtimus Cricket Flash help

First off, sorry for posting here, I am not sure where to post since there is no Optimus S thread. I am a third day Droid convert, and I have successfully rooted my phone and bypassed the Sprint ID (phone is not currently activated) I do have WiFi in my home, etc etc. I have been trying to use the various info I have found on Flashing my phone to work completely with cricket (especially since NONE of the local cricket dealers can flash it without bricking the MMS). Unfortunately, all of these guys are speaking greek to me. I have downloaded and installed QPST v2.7 build 3.0, and I have managed to set my SPC to 000000 using the CDMA workshop. Now, I have NO idea which PSL's to use for non-roaming, and no idea where to get them, and most importantly, I am completely lost on what I am supposed to be doing beyond this point. Can anyone help or redirect me to a more thorough walk through that does not assume I have any skill at programming droids?
Thanks in advance.
Here are the links I have been studying.
(Error420, not the guy selling his fix)
What are the MSID/MIN, Where do I find/install a cricket CAB or ROM and what is god's name is a PST/EPST?
Are all of these supposed to work on my LG Optimus S also?

[Q] LG Optimus S

Hello and thanks for reading. I have a LG Optimus S running on Boost, I couldnt find the proper forum so I figured the Optimus V would be as close as I could get. I bricked mine, and got it back going flashing a new rom to it, but my IMEI / ESN and pretty much everything else is wiped / zero'd. I have all my info fixed but the IMEI and ESN now. I have it written down, but I cant find where in the memory it is to fix it. I have been using CDMA WS, but I just cant find the memory addresses for them, any help would be greatly appreciated.
So, question is: Where can I find my IMEI and ESN in the memory of my LG Optimus S (LS 670)?
optimus-s
could you tell me how to even get the optimus-s to change to boost?
I switched my sprint plan up with an evo and want to give the optimus-s to someone on boost , both of our accounts are good and my evo my optimus-s and their boost seek all are paid for and in good standing all three esn #'s are clean no stealing done.
This is where I am at with my setup:
Optimus's
rooted with clockwork
wiped and installed new rom
running reborn 2.2.4
obtained spc# and metro psc#
I updated the mdn and msid
and thats as far as I can find on the internet

Does Optimus S = V? Any way to switch via root?

I'm sure this must be asked a bazillian times right now so I'm sure its redundant.
Me and my dad have 2 plans on Sprint. I have a LG Optimus S on Sprint while my dad has a Samsung Intercept on VM. My dad HATES the Intercept (and for good reason: its a POS brick-laying turd of a phone) and I'm eyeing the new Photon since my contract is almost up. I tried getting a 2nd line, but Sprint's being real douche about it being on SERO and all.
So my theory is this: Quite literally Sprint = VM. Optimus S = Optimus V. So shouldn't there be a way to make an S work on the V's "network" (and vice versa) via firmware changes? Thanks for the help!
PS: I tried googling, but couldn't find anything about it (but found a ton of people getting their Intercepts to switch, which begs the question "why?"). And I have some knowledge about rooting. Had a HTC Touch for 3 years and hacked the heck out of it to make it any good, a Pre that lasted 4 months, my rooted 2.3 Optimus, and my Nook Color.
you can use the lg downloader to force S firmware into a V, which frags its network settings, according to those who made that mistake.
you could theoretically do the reverse, but lg provides a broken firmware .cab for the V which is missing a .dll needed to unpack the .cab with the V firmware.
so there's currently no way to flash the radio settings for V firmware. boo.
also, the sprint/virgin branding shows up in the ESN, so sprint probably wouldn't activate a hacked V (they are cheaper to buy than the S.)

ov rom on flashed optimus s?

Hi, I dropped my OV and it is randomly restarting or just shutting off itself so i took out my old optimus S and flashed it to use with virgin mobile. Texting and calling is working on the optimus s on virgin mobile, but I can't get internet/mms working with VM on the optimus s. It keeps popping up code 67 can not connect to data. I changed the build.prop to VM instead of sprint, prl is 60667 i believe. Also under about phone > status > network it still shows sprint. Could i flash IHO on the optimus S, would that fix apn settings? Right now im running Ggrom on the optimus s w/ custom kernel
nope.
you're probably not going to get 3g/1x data, or MMS, working, since your s has a different radio setup than the v.
you can't get a flashable v radio (boooo LG and VM) so there's no real way I've read to fix it.
My knowledge base comes from flashing a Sprint firmware (includes the sprint radio.img) on my old OV after there was no other way to unbrick, and lots of research about trying to get the data working again on it before I finally overflashed it (and now it no longer even lights up when plugged in, much less from the power button, no emergency mode, nothing.)
Dead as a doornail.
So VM activated an optimus S ESN on your account?
Interesting. Didn't think they'd do that. LG's online system at least can recognize the phone model just from the ESN, I'm surprised VM would activate that S!
search AndroidCentral for "change mip ppp settings optimus v" for a little more information.
If anyone has more experience with this issue than bigsupersquid, I don't know who it could be. Trust what he says above, he went through months of trying to get that OV working, and posted tons of relevant info about his experiences.
i flashed the ov esn and meid to the optimus s is why i was hoping i could use a OV ROM since the phone thinks its a OV. I have done some reading and people say they have ran the new screen stock ov kernel with an optimus s rom and everything was working. I'll play around with it and let ya know if i figure anything out.

[Q] Flash L9 Metro PCS to Tmobile?

A friend of mine has tasked me to help him as I have some experience with rooting, unlocking etc from other Android phones. Someone sold him a Metro PCS version of the LG Optimus L9 and he has a family plan on T-Mobile. He wants to give this phone to his daughter. Anyways, Since the phone runs on the T-Mobile network, is it possible to flash the phone so that he can put it on his T-Mobile plan? I have looked through the forums and have not found anything of this nature but I do apologize if I have missed it. It is not necessary to go into great detail for this, I jsut want to know if it is possible and a good place to start if it is possible. Thanks for your time!

The only thing I can assume would work is tp buy an unlock code on ebay or amazon and unlock it. t-mobile blows where I am so I unlocked my phone and am now on att
Sent from a Crackhead Donkey
im sure it would work. i have a rooted tmobile branded L9 using a slightly modified metro rom with a tmo sim. it actually shows metro under about phone/network. it is rooted. so if u havent already tried a puting a tmo sim in it and seeing if it worked then rooting might be your answer.
