[Theme] Clarity: QuikSense v1.5.1 - HTC Amaze 4G

Allow me to give you Clarity, again!
UPDATE: I am going to stop messing around with Sense now (Clarity was just to get use to Sense) and move into a complete system theme. That being said, if someone wants to take Clarity and continue it, just let me know... If not, no big deal at all...
As most of you know, Clarity had been pulled last week! Since then, the reason why Clarity was pulled has been addressed and everything in back on the good side of the track. That being said, i am going to release Clarity v3 for QuickSense v1.5.1 in hopes that everything goes smoothly...
Clarity v3
- Accurate battery
- Transparent status bar
- Semi-transparent dock
- Rosie transparent application drawer and headers
- Notifications transparency (I went ahead and revamped this a little)
- Quick setting tab transparency
- Pop-up menu transparency
Other stuff i am not thinking of at the moment... But all good stuff, of course...
How to!
- Download Clarity v3
- Save to your phones storage or external storage (Recovery specific)
- Boot into recovery
- Nandroid
- Flash
- Enjoy
Whats to come
Lots i am sure... This is my first sense phone, so i am taking it slow, messing with things... AOSP i can theme in my sleep... Sense takes some getting use to...
As always your requests will be looked into... As will any issues you have...
Thanks go to...

Everything stock other then the accurate battery?
or
Everything as it is, but only have the number for the battery % without the circle?
Both are possible...

i made one colorful battery percentage from UOT, let me know if u wanna use it i will give u the zip..i also changed the boot animation and colorful statusbar icons!!

works on senceless 1.5.1 as well. If you do not want sense back you will need to remove rosie.apk from the zip

I was wondering why you took it down. I figured it had to do with the last few posts in that thread. I was lucky enough to download it before you pulled and I love it!! It's clean and exactly what I needed for my setup. Thank you.

Nice job!

You dont need to wipe anything before flashing a theme... =)
As far as your issue... Could be a bad download... Could also be the wipe thats causing issues... Id restore your nandroid, and flash without a wipe... See what happens...

It would seem this broke my screen capture. I restored to my pre clarity and it worked. Reinstalled clarity and broken again.

any idea if i can use this theme with go launcher?

Odd as I have screen capture...

Yup... Go launcher will just override parts or all of the theme depending on what theme you apply to go launcher itself.

[MOD] I9000 *matte* skin and accurate battery *10/5/2010*

First and foremost, this would not have originally been possible without all the hard work zimphishmonger and the3dman13 did to bring fighspit's original battery mod to the vibrant, please see the original thread here, and give them some thanks! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756441
I'm also borrowing zimphishmonger's warning, as i think it works to keep warning messages standard across all these battery mod threads.
WARNING: ALWAYS make a nandroid backup prior to installing any modification, including this one. You are making the decision to install this on your own, and I am not responsible for anything nuclear that may happen to your device.
UPDATE.. I lost count (10/5/2010)
So I dig Eugene's Frankin-twiz rom's, but I still want to keep my accurate battery mod, and well, I think his glossy-black skin is ugly. I also think the stock vibrant touchwiz skin is ugly (for the love of all that's holy samsung, why did you decide the vibrant would be the ONLY galaxy s phone to get your stupid glossy version of touchwiz?!)
So, I ported my battery mod to frankin-twiz and at the same time, ripped all the matte (non glossy) drawable's from the I9000 touchwiz skin, and added in my colored status/signal, mms, calendar, music player, and gmail icons, restored the black background for the power control widget, added HTC's weather icons to GenieWidget.apk, changed to the stock I9000 bootup and shutdown animation and sounds, and of course, I probably missed something else too, lol. You can see some (semi-outdated) screenshots here: http://picasaweb.google.com/113127051130934911253/AndroidStuff?feat=directlink
Also, if you find yourself being a typography nerd like me, you can use this zip to switch the default system font to Comfortaa I take NO CREDIT WHATSOEVER for making the original font, or the android port, I only re-packaged the files into a Clockwork-mod zip file for the vibrant. This will also change the lockscreen clock font to comfortaa, but ONLY if using the default android lockscreen.
Comfortaa system fonts: http://www.4shared.com/file/hYu1TYHL/Comfortaa_system_fonts_ONLY.html
New for ftwiz_final: I'm including an extra version with the samsung calendar AND the AOSP mms app, per Eugene's thread, since it resolves issues with being unable to send sms/mms messages. I'm also including the newest version of my battery mod (this is the version I personally like best and use daily), based on the upright/vertical icons, but with colored borders/outline, and a smoother charging animation (thanks to untermensch!) This can be applied on its own, after you flash either of the other versions. If flashed without flashing one of the other versions first, it DOES NOT contain the gmail/calendar/mms/music player icons, or the startup & shutdown animations and sounds. You can see a screenshot added to the post below too.
Download links here, ftwiz_final ONLY:
Removed, sorry, too many people use other people's work without giving credit, and it leads to way too many headaches, he-said/she-said, ignorance, etc.
Everything should flash via clockwork recovery fine, place the zip on the root of your INTERNAL /sdcard directory, reboot into clockwork, I recommend wiping the cache & dalvik-cache, then install zip from sdcard, locate the specific zip, reboot.
Enjoy, cheers everyone, and if you come in here posting bugs/whining for help without first making sure you cleared your cache and dalvik-cache, then I'm just going to ignore you,
Looks Great!!!
Thanks alot works well on my phone
i love it! not a big fan of the round battery icon, so this is great
Great work! Glad to see everyone is making their own customized battery images. We are gonna have a battery collection soon.
just a quick update to the OP with a new version with some colored/themed status icons.

I did, switched from the green circle. The battery indicator works fine.
I used the circle one but saw this with the other colored icons and thought they were cool. Seems that they don't quite work properly. Stock the GPS indicator shows in the notification bar any time it's on. With the new icons from the op the indicator is only on if I'm in an app that is using the GPS. I'm going to flash back to stock then to the battery only mod (i figure I need to to switch the other icons?)

Hi,
Thanks for trying it out. I have no idea how there might be issues since this is literally just img replacement from the segmented green circular battery mod, so however icons should work with that mod, is how they should work with this mod.
Maybe run a fix permissions from rom manager and see if that helps?
Also, my GPS icon has never worked like you described, even stock, (in other words, mine isn't always visible in notification bar, even when not in an app actively using gps, its displayed only when using an app that needs GPS, and disappeared when exiting the app.)
If you want to try and modify your own framework-res.apk with these files, I may upload just my png images once I'm done replacing/coloring all the icons I feel like modifying.
Thanks again for trying it out though, cheers
Lastly, I got bored and colored the wifi icons, cell-signal icons, and vibration indicator icon, I'll post the framework-res.apk in the first post, but won't package a new update.zip until I decide I'm done modifying icons, lol.

Hey again,
Glad I wasn't screwing up phone's, lol.
Anyway, I'm still working on changing all the icons, can't seem to decide where to stop yet, since now I've started modifying icons for other apps, gmail, mms, google voice, trillian, etc. And of course, now that I've gone with a slightly brighter green in the other icons, I may go back and tweak the color of my battery icon to match.
Anyway, here's a screenshot of some of the icons I'm mostly finished with (though for some reason I'm not digging the alarm icon, anyone have color suggestions for it?)
cheers,

Yeah...sorry about that. Anyway I hate that stupid icon to begin with so maybe something totally different? I did a GIS for alarm clock icon and there are a lot of possibilities. I think that maybe the stock one with a red square and white clock could be good.
Edit: Maybe something like this

If you don't already have it, I suggest you install Koush's Clockwork Recovery. You can install it quickly by using ROM Manager.
Once you boot into the recovery ROM, you can back up your entire phone using Nandroid (highly advised) and then you're free to experiment to your heart's content.
Now back to your question: you can save the file to your internal SD card and search for it using the 'Install from SD' (or something like that) option in the Clockwork ROM, install it and reboot.
Good luck, friend.
What's the right way to revert this? framework-res.apk restore?

Hi,
Yes, restoring your backed-up framework-res.apk will restore the battery mod. If you used the newer zip that also includes the Gmail icon mod, then you'll need to restore Gmail.apk too /system/app too.

[MOD/theme] JK2/onyx 2.2 *matte* theme, et.al.

UPDATE 11/19/2010 4:00pm
DOWNLOADS INDEFINITELY REMOVED, taking a break from XDA, and don't want to return to a thread of nothing but bug reports, whining, and more un-credited use of my work.
And lastly, I never used to care about people using my work if they gave me credit, but I've found a lot of people re-packaging my battery icons without any mention of credit, or link to my original threads, and its just really annoying, takes barely a few seconds to add a "credit/thanks to xxxx" note or link somewhere in your posts. So from henceforth if you want to use my mods/theme in your own rom, mod, etc. you MUST:
1) ask my permission to do so.
2) you must link back to my thread and provide credit to me in your post
3) your mod/theme/etc. must be for non-commercial purposes
4) you must also share your mod/theme back to the community
Nice. Thanks.
I was gonna try and mod it myself for accurate battery and all but then thought nah Jocelyn will post something in the next few days and her stuff always rocks.

Could you do a black mod? This woud be awesome. Thanks!

Hi,
On JK2 the bluetooth toggle seems fixed already, at least for me, when i click it, it toggles on and starts scanning for devices in a popup automatically, so there really isn't a need for that.
And once untermensch ports his power-menu mod and the epic/puzzle lockscreen mod to JK2, I'll add them both.
I know he's working on porting some of his mods to froyo already, and I might look through the power menu to see if I can do it without waiting for him to port it officially, but the lockscreen mod is definitely over my head until he releases froyo specific mod/source.
Cheers everyone, =)

Hi,
You can speed up animations using SpareParts.apk
I don't honestly remember where I got the apk I'm using now, but you might be able to find it on the market, or likely a CM5.0.8 or CM6 build for the nexus one.

Hey Jocelyn -
Actually, the power menu mod is already working in Obsidian V2. All you should need is some components from their framework-res.apk, the framework.jar, and the android.policy.jar, and it will work on the ROM you are using. I have it working on mine just fine (same ROM as you). At the very least, if you get stuck trying to do it yourself, using these files as a reference might help.
Good luck.

In Eugene's Macnut R10 build, the baseband is listed as JK2 and I know he ported some of the unofficial leak over to that build, I'm wondering if this is compatible? Has anybody tried? Or what else do I need to look for to check compatibility before I try it. I can restore, thats never a concern, but would rather avoid fc cutting if I can.
Edited: no, no it does not, but i gave it the old college try. hopefully eugene's next build will be more jk2 and compatible, cause i dig s0niqu3's battery mods.

(ROM) Fascinate MIUI 1.10.21 everything working inc. wifi & reboot to recovery

UPDATE...There seems to be a problem if data is wiped before flashing this rom. If only cache and dalvik are wiped, and on a previous MIUI setup it boots fine. Ill see what is going on and fix it soon. Ill post updates soon...sorry for the inconvenience guys. Took the link down until its fixed up, as I dont want to mess anyones elses phones up.
Here is a link to a rom i ported with pieces from Andmer's version and pieces from Dfgas's Mez version he ported from the vibrant. Everything is working fine including wifi and reboot to recovery.
Special thanks to Andmer and Dfgas...without them this wouldnt have been possible. Also special thanks to JT and whoever else has helped get this phone where it is today.
The only negative difference I see is that the haptic feedback isnt as strong as previous MIUI versions...not sure if that is how 1.10.21 is, or if it is related to my porting of the rom. Let me know what you guys think...thanks.
1.10.21 extended settings mod links...

Im just in the learning stages of porting and modding...learning eveything I can...I would love to port the newest updates each time, but I might not be at that level yet. Im slowly figuring out what tweaks need to be done within certain apps and framework files though...just a matter of time i guess.

Good job man.
From what I gather this is an actual 1.10.21 port, as opposed to Enyo's Frankenstein build. How does this compare to Andmer's release?
As this is for my fiance's phone, I'd like everything to "just work". Previous releases on Miui.us suffer from annoying FC issues (probably related to how small /datadata is), and I'm concerned about the buggy WiFi.

Nice. you can probably clarify something for me:
Can you describe the boot flow and partitioning? I'm specifically interested in the difference between the 3-finger CWM recovery and ADB/Reboot-from-ROM recovery.

By saying reboot to recovery is fixed, I meant holding the power button and choosing recovery is working. In Andmer's release, it would just reboot. You still cant use the 3 finger method...Im not that smart.

Willing to Pay :)

Ok, I am done pulling my hair out so maybe I can pay someone else to do this for me lol.
I want a Transparent Status Bar exlcluding the Clock / Battery .. All I want is Notificatons on left hand side and Signal/Wifi on the right hand side.
I have been trying to change framework to make it work but however all I can manage to do is either make it completely dissapear or change the color. I thought that I could atleast hide the notifications by making the battery and clock display transparent but when I do that it off centers the wifi/signal bars and just doesn't look right.
I however have not been succesfull at making the Bar itself transparent.
So, to sum it up. I will pay for someone to do this for me or willing to accept any and all pointers on how to accomplish this myself.
Systemui controls expanded status bar and everything except the battery. In systemui goto res/layout/ you can set dip of items to say 0.9999999 to hide it. Also colors.xml in res/values/
Running ICScrewD ROM
So you want a transparent status bar with only notifications and wifi/signal without the clock on the right?
How much $$$?
u in the right forum bro?

Yeah, I would think this is the right forum as its a Theme request.

The OP's sig says skyrocket, I believe that is what he is referring to. If you figure out the AM/PM thing that'd be awesome! I've been trying but no dice at the moment, it seems the usual files that are changed have been moved...
@ Thegodfather
Sorry bout my signature. I did have the Skyrocket for a few days but took it back due to it being a major annoyance. The new APN's they use for the LTE Data plan is stupid and gave me more data issues then I care to touch on.
Will update as soon as I get out of this reply
@ Ssconceptz
I don't use TWiz currently do to this issue haha. I am using ADWEx because I can totaly hide the Status Bar but I don't care for doing that tbh. I played with Launcher 7 and its statusbar replacement but couldnt get it to work right after pulling things apart so trashed that project. I dug into some MIUI Framework but I can't even start to compare what they changed.
Is there a way to replace the StatusBar.apk from system with a customized version without it breaking somehting else.
Edit: Signature Changed

Shouldn't be hard i'll give it a whirl tonight if I have time and post results.
Maybe take a look at
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tombarrasso.android.wp7bar
Free version:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tombarrasso.android.wp7barfree
Just what a quick google search brought up
The problem with WP7 bar is it is just overlay and doesnt actually replace the stock status bar and it actually uses a bit of battery. This is the reason I want the stock status bar modified.

If I were you...I would flash MIUI, then d/l extended mod settings, flash it and you can swich the statusbar layout and it will be transparent....if your sold on having touchwiz i dont think it is going to happen for u. Everytime i tried i could never get it transparent. So im on miui....plenty of great themes too.
@Boobie Watcher
I don't like MIUI. I don't know what it is I end up doing but I always have terrible battery life and it just seems buggy.
I know.there has to.be a way to make it.transparent. just how lol.

Yea, I always seem to have to do a lot of tweaking to get MIUI to my liking as well, but once i do its dope. I'm sure there is a way I just haven't figured it out yet.....When you do make sure you hit me up !
There is this theme writer on the i-9100 side that has made some but every time i flashed to a hellraised criskelo rom it was a no go i got nothin but he might have some answers just a though.

Yeah, I am comparing the i9100 statusbar.apk for the change to the i777 version we have. I am sure I will find it eventually but was hoping someone with some in-depth theming experience would know the answer lol.

See this is why xda is the best site hands down. Ask for a mod at 2:26pm and by 2:36pm the same day, bam one of the hottest themers out responds and says no prob "What other site does this" lol
Pure awesome .

this is the link to the ROM i am currently running: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851912
and i would like the battery icon to be like the one in this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=171048
but the only thing is, in that second ROM, there are a bunch of choices for battery icons. i would like the one that looks like the picture i will attach. thank you SOOOO much! this site really is the best, no doubt!

(as with anything i am not responsible if your phone
a)blows up
b)trys to kill you in your sleep
c)takes over the world and make you its slave)
so make a back up i am not running cm 10 so this is not tested!!!!!!!!!
ok on to the real stuff
i had to add in 100% battery mod for you to use those battery icons you listed and i did not change any colors
but enjoy anyway
let me know if any problems
:fingers-crossed:
ok. i will post back when i finish. thanks!
i flashed the zip, but the icon did not stick. it is still the old stock icon. i think it has to do with how cm10 allows you to change icons through the settings app. but i am not sure. any advice?
edit: nevermind! i got it! i had to go into the setting and set the "battery status style" to "icon." thank you sooo much! i love this icon!
edit2: ok, so the battery icon is stuck at 15%? my phone has 82% battery according to every other app i have, but the icon says 15% and is not changing. any ideas?

Try wiping cache and I'll look in to it maybe something with adding the 100% batt mod
Sent From My Sweet Ass EVO LTE
ok. i will try that. one second.
edit: i cleared both the cache and the dalvic cache and it did not change anything. it is still stuck at 15%.
Ok I'll be home in 5 minutes and I'll run through the mod to see if i can find the cause
Sent From My Sweet Ass EVO LTE
no need to rush. its cool.
try that one and let me know
that worked great! except it is still stuck at 15% while charging. i guess i can live with it since you have already spent enough of your time working on it. or maybe ill figure out how to do this. anyway, thank you so much!
