[Q] Mute button for incoming call ringer - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can a mute button be placed between the Accept and Reject sliders? It should mute the incoming call ringer if double clicked.
Muting with the hardware volume rocker is a bit inconvenient at times.
If someone can create a mod for the stock then that would be great, rather than using any 3rd party app.
Does it fancy anyone else?

I use the Flip to mute feature in the settings and it works well.
Hope this Help

That always works well but is pain in the ass when you listen to music.

One touch on the power button? (stock rom)

the power button rejects the call, the volume down button mutes it.

On my "I9100UHKI1" stock rom, the power button dont rejects the call, he mutes the ringer and turn off the screen.
After this, i can press again to turn on the screen and accept the call.
This is the default config on my rom
To change: "Config->Acessibility->The power key ends calls"

Thank you for your responses. However still hoping for a solution that gets the button on the screen. Double click and the ringer is quiet.

Disable Volume buttons when not using the phone?

I very often become irritated over accidentally touching the Volume buttons when not using the phone, for example when writing a text message in landscape mode, as touching the Volume buttons means changing the ringer status to for example vibrating or soundless.
Is is possible to disable the Volume buttons when not the using phone for calls?
I now that this means that I need to use the settings in order to change ringer volume etc.
Thank you in advance.
I too get annoyed by the same thing,
Glad its just not me,
I would also like to know if this is possible.
I don't know if it is possible to disable the controls but an app called ringer volume control http://www.androlib.com/android.application.vol-qwmn.aspx will restore the ringer volume to the level you have choosen in the program.
Thanks
That app works great.

Galaxy Ace take silent on call <SOLVED>

While I was using Samsung Monte, One phone call (taken), I took the phone to silent by turning 180 degrees.
Is there such a feature in this Galaxy ace?

I tried it, didn^t work. Instead of pressing the volume button, closing button of the phone (right above), going through a quiet situation.
Thanks for your interest.
You should hold any volume button for a second and then it goes silent. And if you want it to go silent when you turn it 180 install flip silent or whatever.
Hit the power button to silent an incoming call, "not rejecting it", JUST MAKING IT SILENT. It would also make the screen go off... hope it helps

[Q] Can you change the default In-Call Volume?

Every time I call someone or someone calls me, the In-Call volume is on max. I will change it during the call to about halfway with the volume rocker on the side. Then if someone calls me again, say an hour later, the In-Call volume is again on max. It's very frustrating because it's a little too loud for me. Any way to change this? Or at least have the change during one call to persist through future calls?
Try adjusting the call volume in the settings then reboot and see what happens.

[Q] Mic mute when on calls

Have had my Z2 for a while now, but there's 1 thing driving me nuts that I cannot seem to find a solution for. Every other Android phone I've had (Nexus' and Samsungs) has let you mute and unmute the mic whilst on a call using a short press on the button on a set of headphones (And a long press to hangup). The Z2 only seems to hangup, with no option at all to mute/unmute. I've looked everywhere in settings, tried the woefully buggy Smart Key app from Sony (Not only does it not work to do a mute/unmute, it breaks more things that I could count), used different headsets etc, none of them work.
I was kind of hoping the 4.4.4 update with the revised dialer would finally allow such a basic feature, but no dice. Anyone have any solutions or ideas to this working as expected?

there is clearly visible mic button along with a dialer, speakerphone, hold and contacts buttons, which is used to mute the mic. dont see why you cant find it.

I'm talking about muting/unmuting from the headset, not on the phone itself. If you're on multi-person, multi-hour calls where you have to regularly mute your mic frequently, doing it from the headset is so much easier than waking the screen all the time.
HI I'm having Xperia z2 and having the same problem. During in call perid the mic and mute button automatically activate and after while call cancel suddenly, but if I press side power button and let the screen not awake position the above problem do not appear.
How to solve this?
