you have an app that is causing that to appear. Find the app and uninstall it. I think there's some app on the market that searches your phone for the culprit but I have not needed this app so I dont know what its called. I'll leave that to someone else who might remember what it is.

Oh weird. Thanks. I look into it

Its most likely the Mp3 download application. Download airpush detector to see what app is causing the ads

The app actually works really well for music, it just occasionally puts an advertisement in your notification bar haha

Hmmm that sucks. They even give a notification setting in the settings menu. Vibrate, ringtone and all.

I don't have that option

What does this symbol "+" mean?

Does anybody know what this green plus symbol "+" is in the upper left of the notification bar? When I pull down the bar and click on it, it takes me to a link in the browser. Its not an email. I recently installed Lookout premium on my phone. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. Every time it pops up its a different site. This one says something about Att users. I ran a full check on my phone. No malware or viruses. Help. Ths is the third time it has popped up. Thanks! How do you attach a screen shot to this site?

Sounds like one of your apps gave you airpush. it is spamming ads to your notification bar. here is a thread about it:

Spam in notification bar

Recently I have been getting spam ads in my notification bar I think it was from installing GNES lite but I'm not sure. also an icon appeared on my desktop that was some sort of spam. I'm curious if anyone has any tips how to isolate the source so I can get rid of it.

I would look into the settings of all the apps you've installed around the time you first noticed it. Other than that, it might be a process of elimination. How about checking the play store page for the apps too? I'm sure other ppl will comment on that in the reviews.

Found it. It was superN64 by superN64 games

Glad you found it already. I thought I'd leave a little tip here in case you didn't know and need it in the future. If you long press on a notification an "App Info" button will come up which will take you directly to the app responsible for the notification. From there you can disable notifications for that app by unchecking the "Show Notifications" box.

Get Mupen64 or N64oid. N64oid isn't in the play store, but you can find it in other places. I personally find N64oid to work better and have some better options.

Blackstar ROM and Google

Every so often I get a different on screen google message during phone calls; e.g. "you lost me at java" or, currently, "what a wonderful world."
Does anyone know what's behind these aphorisms or from where they are pulled?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
That should not be any part of the rom. Sounds like you have a rouge app causing this.
Never heard of that. Screenshots?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Here is a cropped screenshot during a call with the contact info cut out. I realized that it only happens when I'm calling a contact whose gmail I have stored.
Might it possibly have something to do with gchat or the gapps package?
Thanks

Google reader/rss

Can this be disabled? Google reader is not even installed as far as I can see, and look at the size of that address bar!

Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I would have thought it would be fairly obvious if you don't use it, freeze it (I prefer this to outright removal, just in case you get rid of the wrong app). Like Google Search/GMail/Talk/etc, they're not exactly critical system apps.
