Best case? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I just got a GS2 and trying to decide whether or not to get a case. Do you guys suggest getting one for added protection from drops?
EDIT: Ok, clearly a case is necessary, but which one? I have an Otterbox Commuter on my iPhone and dig the feel and durability. I see many complaints about SG2 cases not fitting or not having the right holes. Which is the best case in terms of fit, durability, and feel?

I definitely would. Protects from scratches, marks, and dust. I wouldnt count on it to protect from a normal drop though. I would suggest the Otterbox Commuter (make sure its the ATT i-777 version)

It's a $500+ phone you have. If you're ok with it breaking, then go without a case.
That's not saying it will break. There are plenty of stories about how well this phone does when dropped.
But it's the same reason people wear seat belts. 99% of the time they don't do much. But that 1% when you're in an accident, you're really happy you had it on.
It only takes one bad drop to ruin your phone. And screens for samsung devices are super expensive.

Are you sure that Otterbox makes a case for the AT&T version? I checked around and only found a Commuter for International version.
I have an Otterbox Commuter now for my iPhone and love it.

They just released an att version for the otterbox commuter. I have the international and its fits flawlessly. The top Mic cut out is off but the call quality is still the same. Paid 20 bucks on Amazon for it

I just received this one and it fits flawlessly. They have 2 or 3 different colors. This one is a matte finish on the back and does not show any fingerprints and the TPU material feels great in the hand.

This is going to depend a lot on how you use your phone. I am using the casemate barely there which provides a moderate level of drop protection while maintaining the slim profile and light feel that I really love about the Galaxy phones. But when I need to travel for work I put on the Ballistic case which has huge rubber corners and feels indestructible which is nice when you are moving around a lot and adding a much greater risk of dropping your phone. The otterbox commuter is a decent case, my wife has one on her iPhone 4. It seems to be a nice middle road between something like the "barely there" and the Ballistic.
Did you drop your old phone a lot?

There is a balance between protection and bulk in cases
I don't want a case that inhibits the phone from venting heat. And I don't want one that is too bulky. I've tried a lot of different cases, and this is the one that I like best:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320771114659
Just don't drop it from too high above a floor that's too hard, and it should protect the phone OK. And at this price you can get a couple of them as spares, since they will crack occasionally.
The other thing about this case is the matte rubberized finish. Helps the phone to stay put in your pocket. It also makes the phone feel much more secure when holding it in your hand.
Here's a list of many of the available i777 cases:
http://www.traemcneely.com/2011/10/...i777-samsung-galaxy-s2-sii-cases-covers-sgs2/

The SGS ballistic case is way too big and the bumpers snag in your pocket. The case mate pop is great as long as you don't mind the shiny back scratching all to hell in two weeks. Also the grey plastic around the edge flakes off really easily. The commuter is smaller than both and likes to draw dust... The thin cases will never completely protect your phone. Always had otterbox, always will keep using otterbox.

TPU cases have a tendency to stretch if you take them on and off too much. I had one for about 2 weeks and it was already feeling loose and I was only taking it on/off about once a day.
And they attract lint like mad. The reason I was taking it off daily was to rinse it off.

35 bucks! Damn. Not any cheaper on Amazon. That's a bit too much for me.
Thanks guys for the tips. I ordered a couple cheap hard TPU cases like some recommended here to see how they are. Perhaps I'll need more protection and look into something else.
I didn't drop my old phone a lot, but I did once in a while drop it from my desk. I don't have insurance on my GS2 so I would like some protection in case it drops since the phone feels fairly fragile.
Can anyone recommend a middle of the line case between thin TPU cases and the Ballistic? I know Otterbox is along those lines but $35 is too much!

I agree with your line of reasoning here. I loved the Otterbox on my iPhone. I liked the hardness of it. My girlfriend had an Otterbox Defender and that was just too much. Did you pay $35 for the Otterbox?

maybe the case-mate pop. conflicting reports on whether it has the right holes or not. it also has the built in kickstand

oh, also, the otterbox should come down in price soon, like the intl. GS2 version has.

I have the casemate barely there and the casemate and the casemate full version. Both work great and give flexibility.

The Case-Mate Pop! is the best I've found. It is a hard plastic case that is lined on the inside with rubber for shock absorption. It also has rubber inserts on the outside along each edge. Has a very solid feel with good grip. There is also a fold out stand but I don't really use it that often. Nice feature to have though.
It does add a little to the bulk of the phone but not as much as the Otterbox or other heavy duty cases. I found it a good compromise between size and protection. I think it's well worth it for something that fits perfectly and feels really good in the hand.
All of the holes line up perfectly on this case even it's categorized under the International SII. The noise canceling mike on top is included in the microphone cutaway. No noticeable difference in signal quality or phone call quality.
Sorry, tried to post a link but I'm too new. You can go to Case-Mate's website and look under the Samsung Cases, Samsung Galaxy SII, International version.

I have the Casemate Barely There Aluminum, SGP Linear, and some mesh one I got for $3 on ebay. Out of all of these I prefer the SGP Linear. It completely protects the phone, leaving no edges exposed, feels like quality, and keeps the slim profile of the phone. I had to make a little hole for the noise cancelling mic but that was easy.

I have the Tough Case, just delivered today. It's similar in design to the Otterbox Commuter -- a thin silicone base layer covers the entire phone, while a hard plastic shell snaps around the back, sides and corners.
Pros: The fit is absolutely perfect. The silicone layer over the buttons is just the right thickness -- the power, volume and camera buttons are all covered, but their function is not impeded in the slightest. I was particularly delighted by how well the camera button works, no interference with function or sensitivity at all.
Around the front edge, the silicone layer rises a few millimeters above the screen, so you can comfortably place the phone face down without worrying about scratching the glass. Similarly, the camera lenses and flash are deeply recessed on the back, with perfectly sized openings around each (which, IMO, is how the lenses should've been on the phone itself). You can drag your phone across concrete with no worries, if that's the kind of thing you're into.
The hard plastic outer layer has a smooth matte coating that makes it feel more like silicone than hard plastic, giving it a very nice feel in the hand. It's also covered with a raised, textured pattern, making the phone very unlikely to slip out of your hand. By contrast, the Otterbox Commuter I briefly had on my Hero had a plastic outer shell that was slick and shiny, and the phone slipped out of my hand twice within the two days I left it on (which is why I used it only briefly).
Cons: My only real complaints are aesthetic. I really like the slim, refined look of this phone, and the grippy, textured, matte black surface of this case, while very protective and easy to hang on to, is a tad inelegant, giving the phone more of an industrial feel. It also adds a bit of bulk, which was immediately noticeable when I pocketed the phone with it on (although I will say it's positively svelte compared to some of the other cases I've seen pictured on this forum). The phone does also feel noticeably heavier with this case on.
In response to the OP, the case does have a couple of mysterious ports at the bottom. One lines up with the slot you use to pry the battery cover off, while a smaller one lines up with a tiny hole just to the left of the other (edit: duh! that's the mike, thanks minieod). I don't know why those are there, but they don't do any harm.
Overall, I'd say thumbs up. If you like the basic design of Otterbox cases but want something slimmer than the Defender and easier to hold than the Commuter, this is probably your best choice.
I have the casemate "barely there" case on my OG Evo. I have been using it since shortly after launch and it has been just the right amount of protection without adding a lot of bulk. I keep my phone in a pocket with nothing else so that case helps with day to day wear and more importantly it makes it so the camera glass doesn't touch the table when the phone is laying on its back.
I am thinking of picking up an Evo 3d for my girlfriend in order to replace her dying palm Pre but she is pretty rough on phones. She drops hers a lot and throws it in her purse with keys and change and stuff. The thought of getting her a "glass slab" style phone frightens me. I will probably pick up a barely-there case for the Evo 3d if I get it for her. It's weird that they don't list them on their site but that mobilecity site seems to have them in a few colors for $15. That's a good price IMO and my last one came with a free screen protector. Hopefully that will be enough to protect her phone.
I guess I can also cancel the insurance on my Evo and move it to her 3d if I get it since my account is due for upgrade and hers won't be for two years if i get her the 3d.

that "mysterious hole" on the left of the phone you'll want to remain uncovered --- unless you'd rather not talk to anyone ---- thats the microphone
other than that i totally agree with you on the case - i got it at the sprint store and i LOVE it
i had the TPU case from the user who posted on here earlier in june (forgot your username sorry!) and sold them on tpu-cases.com or something like that... it was 8 bucks shipped, and great quality for tpu
but i tried this on when i was waiting at the store picking up my moms evo3d for her bday gift.... and decided to get the case-mate tough, and give her my tpu one
the casemate tough is sleek....i dont agree with po96 on the "inelegant" , because its pretty similar to the style of the battery cover on the 3d....
i like it a lot, and it feels very solid and protected....
i used to use the otterbox commuter on my evo4g and loved it, but i really hated the new design for the 3d....

So sounds like you like it better than the Otterbox. I am currently using the Commuter and love the feel of it (didn't feel slippery to me, has a nice texture) but hate the gap at the top. I am getting a new silicone layer from Otterbox to see if that one fits better. I think I might order the Tough Case as well and compare the two. Overall would you say its thinner than the Commuter?
I wish I could find the Tough Case in stores to give it a test before purchasing. I hate having to buy online and pay return costs for shipping if I don't like it but I guess that's what I'll have to do.
*update* Just ordered a Tough Case. There is a 20% off code for their online store: CM06-SP20. The online store has free shipping to US addresses and didn't charge me tax, so $28 total for the tough case (originally $35). Not bad! If I don't like it I can just pay return shipping. I might just keep it for a backup.

Which Case Do You Reccomend for Atrix?

I wanna buy a case for my Atrix. My budget is small (around $5-$10).
So which one would you reccomend me?
Thanks!
I like the basic TPU cases. They don't add too much bulk and don't collect dust, but protect the phone from dings and scratches. They also have a lip around the front, so if the phone is set on a flat surface the screen won't actually touch the surface. It will make your phone somewhat warmer though, but pretty much all cases will probably do this, and it probably won't protect your phone as well as some of the larger cases. The case I use is $2.86 shipped from amazon and fits perfectly. I also have an otterbox but use the TPU case since its smaller, and doesn't collect dust like the otterbox. I know a lot of people like the otterboxes though. The jelly silicone cases are also dust collectors and tend to stretch after a while so I would advise avoiding any of those. If you look through this accessories forum you will see a lot of threads about cases that usually have reviews and pictures, so I suggest you read through some of those threads and find a case that looks good to you and sounds like what you are looking for from the reviews.
I would also suggest getting a screen protector. While the atrix does have gorilla glass, it is not truly unbreakable or unscratchable. While some may argue that its not really necessary, it costs a few dollars and has the potential to protect your phone's screen from scratches.
Great! Btw can you give me the product link you bought from Amazon?
I found this one: http://www.amazon.com/MOTOROLA-ATRI..._1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1321000892&sr=1-3
But it says its a Gel Case (I don't TPU & Gel Cases are the same or not! )

Mine's fine. I even broke the holster clip and Otterbox is sending me a new one. My point is that if there's something wrong with it their warranty will cover it. It's a good way to save money and maximize your phone's protection.
Besides otterbox isn't minimal in size! It needs some extra space around the phone which makes it bigger! I don't like it. I like a minimal one yet that would protect my phone. Just like roswellkidd says. TPU cases are good

The Impact case isn't as strong as the Defender refurb I listed earlier, but this is a lot cheaper and will most definitely save your phone from drops.
Should I go with a TPU case or this case? This still looks bulky! Besides, I think this won't perfectly fit into my pocket!
It depends on what your real need is. The Otterbox cases are for people who expect to drop their phone more often than others. I drop my phone at least once a day on hard surfaces and/or from insane heights (I'm a CATV installer that's clumsy with his phone). For a general user, the TPU case would be fine if you're not expecting to drop it a whole lot. It's also more fashionable, it won't make your phone look like it just Hulked out.
Personally, I'd keep a cheap Otterbox around in any case, you might need it if you're going to do anything daring. At least it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an Otterbox on a phone that may fall out of your pocket on a rollercoaster at Six Flags (happened to me without an Otterbox... I had to bury the phone).

wow sorry I didn't get back earlier, I am actually too new to post links, but if you type in "atrix TPU case" into amazon you will see the TPU cases, that gel case you posted looked like a silicone case not a TPU case. Mine was the "smoke grey cruzer argyle" TPU case that is currently $2.86 with free shipping, although all five or so of the top results look like they are essentially the same, just different colors.
I hope I didn't talk you out of an otterbox in my first post, I personally was not satisfied with mine, but as you can see here most people love them. I also have never dropped my phone, so my case is basically just to protect it from dings and scratches if I ever do drop it. I don't expect it to protect my phone in a ten foot drop, but considering the highest I would ever have the chance of dropping it from in my daily routine is just a few feet, Ill take the slimmer case even if it does have less protection.
I, like many others, put in a vote for a TPU case... I have used the Otterbox Impact case, the rugged battery cover, and the TPU case...and the TPU case is by far may favorite. It offers ok drop protection, but mainly I love it becuase it's easy to get out of my pockets while the Impact or any rubberized case sticks to pockets making it really hard to get out in the car or while sitting in general. I think the atrix is a little too small without a case and the TPU case makes it slightly larger but not too large...it's the way to go.

Best flip case for the note?

I have the little flip case right now, but it doesn't provide much protection. What would be a good flip case for my note?

Somebody else posted this in the other flip case thread, might be of interest to you. The front of the flip cover seems to be exactly the same, but the back of it is an actual case that will protect your Note more.

I don't think that one will fit the AT&T version. Someone else might have to verify that, but it says it's made for the International version.

I bet it does fit, as im pretty sure the discrepancy in size was probably an error in either measurement or conversion between metric and standard units. Every case people have bought for an international note so far has fit the at&t one, even the zenus capsule case, which is hard plastic.
The only things that do not work are replacement battery covers due to the difference in the location of the tabs, which what i linked to is not a battery cover.

I ordered one in red as soon as it gets here (which may be a while) I will verify if it fits the American version
just an update im still waiting in this case It has been over 4 weeks now and still no case
Finally got the case it does fit the American version
I've got this one on the way, http://kevikev.com/Yoobao-Executive-Leather-Case-Folio-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-LCSamNoteE.htm. I know someone that got it and he really likes it.
I ordered this one... hopefully I will like it.

I ordered this one, and while it's a bit expensive, it looks, feels, and is really nice.

I got my wife the tridea case from ebay, its pretty nice and offers better protection than most flip cases around the sides.
I got this case on amazon. Its the Khomo Executive flip case and I can honestly say that it's by far the worst case that you could spend (little) money on. it offers almost no protection aside from the soft felt stickers on the inside. its made from really cheap hard plastic and only snaps around the edges. after putting the phone in it the for the first time, i set it on a white painted bookshelf. it immediately took white paint transfer barely sliding it across the shelf. Im sure if i left phone in there much longer it would have transferred black scratches to my white Note. It barely closes shut and front flip overlaps the edges too far. Worst of all in the design of this is that it covers the volume key. One drop in this case would probably crack the plastic edges and break the phone. Ultimate fail case!!!

Was that meant to be helpful? There isn't always a correlation between price and quality. Most of us look for good quality at a good price.
I think the case looks nice. It's a shame it is so cheap and unuseful.

That's exactly what I was going for...good quality for a good price. It looked like what I wanted. And that would be a slim tough flip case that could handle a drop or fall and protect my phone. Sadly, this wasn't it, I'll keep trying to find it. I've got a quality case which is my daily but would like a flip style w/o the bulk.

Have you looked at the cases here, http://kevikev.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-Cases-Batteries-Accessories_c24.htm. I just got one of each and will be doing a review. I can tell you they seem to be nice quality at a reasonble price. Shipping is fast. And the look is great.

looks nice! Executive and slim?
I know leather would be more scratch resistant but I've always felt the otterbox plastic/rubber was more drop proof!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
Yeah. The Executive is all leather. Gives good protection but not as stiff.
The Slim has a hard shell and leather overlay. Better protection but more stiff. The Otterbox is excellent protection but more bulk. Depends on what you are looking for.

Exactly! otterbox should make a flipcase. And a slim one at that. Let us know what you think of these. I might have to forgo plastic for leather. If the slim leather fits well with nice corner protection, I'll be buying next.

Incipio NGP Case

I just wanted to share a great case with everyone. I had one for my 3D and loved it. They put me on a mailing list to be notified when they made one for the EVO 4G LTE and I finally got the email Wednesday. This morning I got the case and I love it! It covers buttons, has a great finish and feel, and is comparable (but slightly sturdier) that the TPU cases.

How would you say the texture is on it? I have small hands so a little bit of grit helps me hold onto the thing, but I don't like the super sticky feel that makes it impossible to get out of your pocket
I have a barely there feather one for my ns4g and like it but this looks much better with corner protection.
Hopefully they make a white one for us too.

So is this like a TPU case or is it between a TPU and hard plastic? It looks interesting but I wonder how much protection it really gives.

I think it would be perfect, it is not stickey/rubbery but it gives just a little added grip. It adds just enough bulk to feel solid without any real added weight. It slides in and out of pockets easily as it doesn't 't have many openings to catch on anything.

It's more like a stiffer TPU case. It's not as flimsly/rubbery as the TPU case, but basically the same form factor, weight, etc. with a little more sturdy feel. It's not going to give much more protection than a TPU case, but it will give a little more because it is more rigid. I think one of the main advantage over the Diztronic TPU cases is that it covers all the buttons and eliminates those flexible areas that make it hard to hit the buttons.
I have dropped my 3D in the 3D version of the case from 3 to 4 feet onto concrete numerous times and there were no scratches or visible damage to the phone. It also provides that slight lip around the screen so it doesn't touch if laid flat.
Have you noticed any issues with pressing the buttons? That seems like the main criticism about this case. I'm really liking this one, TPU seems too flimsy and I rarely ever drop my phone (I dropped my Epic maybe 3 times) so I don't need something bulky.
I dented my Evo today so I'm on the hunt lol.

I went back and forth for about 20 minutes between the black and translucent mercury, but ended up buying black. Something tells me if I like it I will end up with the other at some point haha. I love the Diztronic cases but like the buttons covered, so this sounds perfect. Will be a good change of pace from the Otterbox Commuter from time to time.
What color did you get? Any pictures of your own?

It was different coming from the open TPU so it took a little getting used to, but I like it much better. It's not hard once you use it for a day or so.
Just ordered the translucent mercury version. Coming from the the blue silicone case that Sprint sent out to the preorderee's. Getting a little tired of how much it sticks to the inside of my pocket, so hopefully this will be an improvement in that regard. Will let you guys know how it is once I receive it!
By the way, entering the promo code SUM2012 at checkout will save you $4.00 on the case. It's good until the 20th of August. Just sharing!
Also love this case had it with my epic touch and iPhone just ordered it for my new evo !!
Is the material like the casemate barely there? Does the camera have a elevated lip to protect the camera ?

I just ordered one, but from what I've read it's similar to the diztronic tpu case but the material is a little thicker.
Mine shipped
Mine "partially shipped" this morning, I dunno what that means but okay. Maybe I'll get a the packaging but no case lol
is this case just a tpu material? Does the back protect the camera frame from getting scratched if put down on surface?
In case anyone cares they just released their Feather case. I literally just ordered the NGP yesterday and may order one of these as well. The blue looks nice as I've grown accustomed to the color of the Silicone Case Sprint sent to pre-orders.
http://www.incipio.com/HTC-EVO-4G-LTE-Cases/HTC-EVO-4G-LTE-Cases.asp
If anyone has the Diztronic TPU case, I would say these are almost identical in size. I really couldnt see any difference. It feels the same in hand, but covers the buttons, and is much more rigid.

Gumdrop and Poetic silicone cases

So gumdrop and poetic have come out with silicone cases for the 12.2
I just broke down and got my 12.2 900 from amazon since they dropped the price by $50 (starting Saturday this started just on the black version down a few $ then to $25 and finally to $50 off today and then they applied it to the white so both are $50 off - glad I was waffling). I thought about the VZW one since they had $200 off this month with the contract, and I like the fast charging and slightly quicker processor, but the likely lack of updates and likely fewer mods and no 64gb model made it a no go (that $35 activation fee blows too - so, sorry VZW you could have made some money...).
So I really wanted Gumdrop to come out with a bounce skin for it, but they said lets make a more expensive hideaway model with the terrible slippery/spongy silicone. This will be out on April 15th. I might consider it then, but this company is not making me happy not having replied to a single request for information I have sent since early February.
Poetic has two skin for the 12.2, the GraphGrip and the Turtle. The GraphGrip is out now and is a thinner skin for the 12.2, pretty cheap too. I got this for immediate use. They also have the Turtle which is similar to the BounceSkin in that it is a substantial silicone skin with lots of cushioning. This will be out April 15th too. What makes me hesitate with the Turtle is the weight, 12 oz.!!! This adds 3/4 of a pound to the device. For comparison my wife's bounce skin weighs about 4 oz. My thinking is that 12 oz. is too much weight to add to the tablet. Also both are only available in black.
So just wanted to update everyone on the silicone skins for the 12.2
I have the graph grip. It is HEAVY. Adds a lot of weight. Collects dust and dog fur. Otherwise it is nice. Certainly feels like some decent protection, but i went back to the cheapo case I got off amazon.

Yeah, shipping weight on the GraphGrip says 5 oz.
I wish they could understand gumdrop which hollows out the silicone creating "air pockets" which seem to provide a bit more protection while dropping the weight significantly. I'm glad it feels like good protection, I was worried it would feel cheap.

The GumDrop cases always looked bulky to me, so Im glad to hear they don't weigh much. However, I like the Poetic case's design better.

I like the gumdrop bounce skin case the best, but they only have it for the ipad. I really like the bulk to it, it feels right to me. They hollow out the silicone on the inside to make it cushion more and really drop the weight.
The poetic skin, graphgrip (thin one) is OK. The silicone gets a little tacky after use, and I like that. The weight is not bad.
Cons:
They scent it, I don't like this
It only just curves around the edge and does not extend over the buttons or sides of the glass. I would prefer they go to the edge, cover the home button and entirely cover the capacitive buttons but have thinned out the place where you could cut them out if you want them, I will disable mine this weekend when I root.
I don't think it will cushion the device were it to fall, it just give a bit of a grip.
The big skin I don't have, but it seems like it would be heavy (12 oz. is almost half what the device wieghs, too much for a skin), I bet it is because they don't hollow it out like gumdrop.
I bought the Poetic Turtle Case and sure it does protect the tablet but it is heavily scented and it is just noxious! I am soaking it in hot soapy water and drying it outside in the hopes that the stench dissapates. Too bad for the case! I will be buying a Gum drop just for this reason. Also, the Poetic case is tacky....very sticky, unlike a Gumdrop.
**** So, it's been overnight and the scent is still there after bleaching and soaking the thing and putting it out all night to air out. Why did they scent the thing? Why don't they put that in the description???? It is just such a nasty smell!

Is there any chance you can weigh the turtle case?
The graph grip had the Jasmine scent too but it is fading now to next to nothing after about a month of use. I don't know why they scent it pure silicone rubber has no scent. It might be a mold lubricating agent they use.
I would suggest not using bleach. Try dish soap like palmolive first (high SDS content) then if that does not work or if you want to skip it use febreeze. I prefer fragrance free, but any will work. Why febreeze? Because they use cyclodextrans to De odorize. These molecules trap scent or smelly molecules inside them and actually remove them. Try spraying it on your hand when they smell fishy or worse and you can't get rid of the smell with soap. Febreeze will work like a charm. I suspect in this case it will help significantly but it won't totally work since the scent will be dissolved in the silicone rubber. It will just take a bit of time to totally diffuse out and be gone. Febreeze will be your best bet. Just rinse it off when you are done, the cyclodextrans will just wash away and carry the scent molecules with them.

Very curious how easy it is to remove it from the case. I would like to still use my zagg keyboard dock, which would require removing the tab from the gumdrop case. Please let us know!

Do you mean this one: http://www.gumdropcases.com/device/...away-case-for-samsung-galaxy-tab-note-12.html
I am also considering to buy it. It looks like the Ottobox case I bought for the Note 2. I dropped a few times by accident. No problem. This gumdropcase seems to be the best to protect our very expensive device against damage from drop. Any comment on it? With the case, how difficult it is to handle the device in both landscape and portrait mode? Can you do thumb-typing easily as if the case were not there?
Hello, could users please post their experience on the Gumdrop case? The company told me that it includes a screen protector built into the case. I don't need to buy a separate protector. Wonder how good the screen protector and the case are. Is the screen protector a fingerprint maganet? I am using a screen protector from Samsung. It is a finger print magnet. Thanks
Does the raised area on top and surrounding the LCD screen interfere with handwriting, use of S-pen and typing?
