When I was using dolphin with an sd card and trie ddownloading anything it just crashed completely. Opera dled things just as well as the built-in browser though. I dunno what is up with dolphin.

I'm using Dolphin hd without issue. Maybe clear data or reinstall?

Try download "download all" app from market

I'm unable to even install Dolphin HD itself (it won't appear in my search on Android Market).
Did you guys get the apk from somewhere else?
EDIT: Nevermind, found the apk in the "MUST-HAVE APPS" thread.

Still no luck. I tried dolphin and opera both with and without download all files. Both give a similar message. The stock browser works though. Do you have to have an sd card to dl with these browsers?

That may be the case. I have an sd card and downloads workfine for me.

Yep, I scavenged a card from my og droid and it works now.

Same issue, tried using the download all app and still end up with a tiny .htm file. I have been using opera to dl this kind of thing and it works ok, just prefer stock browser for everything else.

Thanks for the tip but even with this option enabled, no dice. It really isn't the end of the world, I did look into this before and couldn't find solution. It may be some obscure setting I have enabled somewhere or other, just can't find it.
Some times download procedure doesn't work. Opera never fail.

So does that mean the stock browser has an issue or is that just your solution?

download "Download ALL FILES" from the market or use a different browser.

Everytime i download something off the internet it keeps saying file not supported and only way i can get it to work is to reboot, any thoughts

Please provide more info such as rom, root, unlocked/locked, type of files, etc. It will help you get answered quicker.
Not rooted basically factor

Try another browser. ie boat or dolphin or opera you get the point

What type of files are you trying to open?
Try opera mobile.works great for me.

If you plan on sticking with the stock browser, download from the market an app called "download all files". Its free, no root required, and will solve file type incompatibility issues.
As others mentioned, a 3rd party browser would also do the trick.
Dolphin downloads anything and much better than stock app

Possibly a dumb question, but are you having trouble downloading files or opening them? I ask because your OP doesn't say "when I TRY to download"
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I had this problem. When I would dl something, like a pic or pdf, it would say failed or not supported. I hard reset the phone and formatted internal and the sd card. Problem stopped.

This should have been a no-brainer
For whatever reason I've avoided the alternate browsers thinking they surely wouldn't offer the ability to download the types files I wanted...I've been liberated in 3 minutes with the Dolphin browser.

Browser wont recognize sd card

Can't save an MP3 link from Chrome

When I long press an MP3 link and select "Save Link" the download is always unsuccessful. It tries for about a second then fails. This is easily accomplished using the regular browser but I'd love to use Chrome.
Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions? Stock device. Not rooted.
Thank you
Try to download the mp3 by using your native stock brower

This is what I am currently doing but I just figured there has got to be a way to do it in Chrome. Must figure it out
Update chrome to the latest version? I have the same problem before but now it is fixed.
