Do NOT report any issues regarding multiboot or encryption on this thread or on the issue tracker. Instead, use the multiboot or the encryption thread.
Donate:
If you are enjoying my work please consider donating:
.
Donations are voluntary but allow me to spend more time on this project.
As a token of my appreciation towards people that have donated for MiniCM, and due to the continuous testing needs of this ROM which is difficult for me to cover daily, I decided to give them a chance to pick up and test new development versions of MiniCM7 starting from 2.0.7. This should allow catching up bugs sooner and hopefully before the actual release which is used by a wide community already.
Obviously, when the build is stable, it will be released on the MiniCM google project page and at xda for everyone to use freely as usual. Not all bugs will be fixed by this process, but it should help making each release build more stable.

Unlocked bootloader
Latest version of the nAa .29 kernel or nAa .32 kernel
Instructions:
Download the MiniCM7-xxx.zip from the release link that follows
Backup your /data contents: contacts, apps, sms, etc. or backup via recovery
Move the MiniCM7-xxx.zip to the root folder of your sdcard. Download the suggested Google Apps for CM7 from here (check http://goo-inside.me/gapps/ if you want to experiment with other gapps versions)
Unlock your bootloader, if you haven't already. Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225 for a nice tutorial
Flash the nAa kernel using Flashtool. To to this:
- Turn off your phone
- Start the Flashtool\X10FlashTool.exe and select Flash. Then select the U20_nAaxxx kernel firmware (this flashes both the kernel.sin and the loader.sin)
- Keep the back button pressed while connecting the usb cable. Flashtool should detect your phone and flash the kernel.
- Once done, disconnect the usb cable and power on the phone.
Once the logo appears, press the back button repeatedly to enter CWM.
- Select 'backup and restore -> Backup'
- Select 'wipe data/factory reset' (RECOMMENDED)
- Flash the MiniCM7-xxx.zip. To do this, Select 'install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard' and select the MiniCM7-xxx.zip
- Flash gapps
Reboot (first boot will take ~2 mins)
Once your device has booted, you can navigate to CM Settings -> System -> Update notifications and select 'Register'. This way you can get update notifications on new versions of MiniCM7!
Please make sure you followed the above steps before reporting any issues, especially 'wipe data/factory reset'

MiniCM9 Visuals
MiniCM9 Theme:
MiniCM9 theme, is the valid successor for MiniCM6 and MiniCM7 legacy.
It is designed as close as possible to the original specs of ICS, in order to be a lightweight, beautiful alternative to the stock theme. However it is tweaked in several parts of the UI, in order to fit better to our small device's screen.

Performance
MiniCM9 along with the nAa-ics kernel, includes some interesting performance improvement points:
System -> Performance -> Processor -> CPU governor and frequency --> SmartassV2 is suggested. Overclocking can be set as higher as your device can take
System -> Performance -> Processor -> Undervolting --> Enable this to get better battery life
System -> Performance -> Memory management -> zRam (Compcache) --> By default this is set to 18% in order to provide more physical memory (RAM)
System -> Performance -> Kernel samepage merging -> Enable this to get smaller memory footprint due to memory sharing among apps (Note that this might increase battery consumption)
FAQ direct link and last Questions
Read Before Asking Please
FAQ for MiniCM9 and nAa kernel
reading may answer to lots of your questions !
for X10mini, X8 & x10miniPRO
i decided to create a new thread dedicated to Q&A about miniCM9
this thread is the place of your questions, answers, tips about miniCM9 and nAa ics kernel
so please, as usual, read FAQ, use search option or anything else before asking commonly answered questions
the FAQ will be incremented when needed
the Q&A is written as Q are asked
something else that is useful to read before asking :
Here we (nearly all? XDA members, regardless of being devs or only users [like me], me at least ) don't care about your good/bad English the important is trying to be understood and to understand the content of the threads
only ask things you can't find, or you don't understand, please if you don't understand something in any process tell us exactly where is your problem : it will optimize the answer
sometime rephrasing things can make you understand better, feel free to help us for making the most understandable sentence for anybody
BUT if you don't make the effort to read, I won't make the effort to answer (ok, you can't read everything... but read the minimum )
Chatroom for support is now available (http://minicm.ie.tc/)

clic here for : FAQ
this post will be updated with the very last Questions added to FAQ about the ROM for quick view
to start with :
5/ why can't i make FMradio work?miniCM9-3.0.1 all devices
you need to turn bluetooth on and then launch the app
____________________
7/ some problems with default input method ?(for miniCM9-3.0.1/nAa-ics02 on X10mini & X10miniPRO)
here is the explanation of the bug, and how to live with (there is no way to fix it atm)
the red part are nearly unresponsive :
but the buttons are still perfectly usable, just need to press more to the center
when typing more than 2 times on a word : the app FC, to restart it just wait 2 seconds after pressing "ok"
same issue when selecting words, it can lead to FC
in fact you'll quickly see by yourself how to live with this, without much problem
==> supposed reason : conflict between input method selecting way and ICS way, the two want to select, and ICS wins the battle
==> the well known keyboard panel freeze that existed in miniCM7 no more exists in miniCM9 !
___________________
8/ why reboot to recovery option never reboots?miniCM9-3.0.1 nAa-ics-02 all devices
after choosing, wait for a while and press home, it will successfully reboot to recovery
___________________
11/ on trebuchet home screen, labels are cut, what to do?(all versions, robyn ans mimmi [cause : LDPI] )
4 choices :
disable labels : settings > trebuchet > home screen > hide labels
disable google search bar : settings > trebuchet > home screen > disable search bar
change grid size : settings > trebuchet > home screen > grid size
use Apex launcher

Tips to make things faster
* You want to overclock as much as you device can handle. ICS requires more juice to run.
* Remove / Freeze system apps that you don't need, especially DSP Manager
* Install only apps that you need, don't bloat your system
* Consider using a swap partition / file if you got a fast sdcard. Swap will give more memory for the hungry ICS to consume
* Using Zram (Compcache) and KSM is also suggested as they will give you a tad more RAM for your apps. Note that they might also reduce battery life since they require CPU cycles.
* Trebuchet is beautiful but a bit on the laggy side yet. Consider installing another launcher from the market like Apex.
Don't report bugs if you are using thirdparty tools that claim to be boosting the performance (Supercharger, RAM Manager, etc.)
:d waiting to try!
Build is for shakira and not for robyn. will it work on robyn.

Can you share with us the link to the sources, please (though they aren't absolutely necessary)? And don't forget to mention that if people are coming from a non-JB kernel and ROM, they need to format /system, /data and /cache from mounts and storage sub menu of CWM recovery. Good luck
not complaining or anything more like of reporting bugs
1.i debloated the rom and remove things i dont use like email.. etc

Maybe
found a temporary solution for lockscreen bug guys, try this: disable system lockscreen -set it to none, then download holo lockscreen then voila, no more black screen of death.

Ok, but it causes horrible battery drain, 'cuz with perf governor the CPU runs on the setted max. frequency (e.g.:748mhz,600mhz,whatever is the maximum)
HTC Sense... Devs, please do it for x8!
Excellent your rom I'm looking forward to the new version ...
