Need help. Doubletwist only app installs and works fine. However when i install Airsync, it crashes on my rooted nt.

Just wanted to piggy back on this, I'm experiencing a similar issue. I have airsync installed because it was just .10 (thanks google) but when i try to install the free player doubletwist I get fairly consistent messages saying that the process has stopped with the option to wait or force quit. When I uninstall doubletwist the messages stop. Didn't know if others were having similar issues with doubletwist?
I'm rooted and running go launcher.
Me too. Installs okay but crashes when launched. I am not rooted. Both Moboplayer and Mxplayer work for playing videos.

Wish I had read this before purchasing Airsync. I have tried for years to get away from iTunes, but needed it for iPod and iPad. I gave the iPad to my wife, and have a chance to abandon iTunes. The doubleTwist Android app seems nice, but I like the Meridian player a bit better. Alas, it has no desktop equivalent and only syncs to iTunes with Tunesync.

For some unknown reason Pandora doesn't seem to work well on my Galaxy Tab 10.1. It freezes up and stops responding frequently. And it seems Slacker isn't even available.
Any other streaming music apps that are decent?

Last.fm app works well on my SGT. However, they recently required that you have the subscription service to stream to mobile devices, now :/ Only $3/mo and worth it, IMHO but, not ideal if you're looking for free. Google yanked grooveshark, too but, you can still get it from m.grooveshark.com (from your device), I believe. Hope this helps!

My Lumia has been passed on to my spouse and I am trying to get familiar with the system and device.
As you can imagine, after using iPad and recently Lumia I do feel a bit lost and overwhelemd by the amount of options, menus and submenus
As right now I am trying to dig through tons of posts, pages here and on other sites. Not an easy task to get to the essential information.
Perhaps you can help me be hinting some shortcuts or giving straight through answers?
My S3 is not branded and unlocked but not rooted, runnind Android 4.1.1
1. How do I get Flash working in Chrome?
2. How do I get Market Enabler app on it?

1.Officially flash player for jellybean does not exist on play store ...but you can find the flash players here on xda (or pm me and ill send u the apk)
2. Market Enabler has official website you can access it from here (i think it needs root im not sure)

Also, on my iPad I was using an awesome video player - Buzz Player.
It plays mkv (iPad can't do it smootlhy but that is different story), divix, avi... anything really.
What is mor eimportnat it was able to stream those videos from my NAS drive - old WD My Book World via smb (samba).
I tried Buzz for Android but it is truly terrible . Nothing like app on iOS + very expensive to buy.
Would you have anyy suggestion - what I should try? (BTW: option for Windows Store - "try" before "buy" is really helpfull - would love to see it on Google Play!).
And what is the best (free) barcode scanner as there is no Bing in S3.. ?

I really have no idea for streaming my s3 plays mkv movies from stock..but you could try "vlc direct pro free" i think you will be ok!
As for the barcode try quickmark for more options or barcode scanner for simple use

As far as I'm aware chrome doesn't support flash anyway, try dolphin browser hd. Market enabler does require root access. As for the video player try MX Player from the play store it plays pretty much everything, possibly the best video player for android.

Playback itself is half of the problem.
Are my movies are on my NAS (network attached storage) and as with iPad or laptop I want to have access to them there. Downloading them first to phone i silly.
Especially since it is DLNA device...
But player has to work with samba protocol

my phone is rooted and i managed to install the so wanted flash player from Adobe v11(not sure the version, its been a long time)

look for your version of system/phone in Adobe site and you will find the right flash player, just download the file and follow the instrutcions on the site.
I'm trying to sync my itunes playlist to my android phone. I've used all sorts of different programs in the past to do this. But I found the Easy Phone Tunes Plus worked best for me. Double Twist works great to, but only the double twist player can read the playlist's which is the only problem. If you open your music on the default music player for an example, it will not show any playlists, only in the double twist app will it show you playlists. For that reason is why I found the Easy Phone Tunes Plus app which worked great in the past but since then is no longer working.
I originally was using a hacked version of the app which worked great. But it eventually stopped working as a result, I went ahead and simply paid for the app thinking it would start working again. But there was no change. Everything works find with the app except that the program is not recognizing that I have the paid version on my phone and thinks it is still the free version. As a result, it will not let me pick which playlists I want to sync and which ones I don't want to sync. I already emailed the developer, but haven't heard anything back yet. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestion?

Apparently, the Nexus TV player in the UK has a Now TV App. I was wondering if anyone will be able to provide me with the apk for the app. I tried sideloading the one from the Google Play store, but it loads sideways and I cannot navigate it using the remote. I am hoping this won't be the case with the Now TV app on the UK Nexus Player.

It is apparently pre-installed on the UK version of the nexus player if that helps?
i'm in the UK and there is no NowTV app for the nexus player in the play store.
there is also no pre-installed app either.
I am in the UK as well and can confirm there is no preinstalled app, if there was one I think this would make me subscribe to the service.
ive only just picked an NP, updated to android 8 'O' and sideloaded a few apps after installing forced landscape app to fix the portrait display of now tv, all4 & itv hub.
i have the latest now tv app running fine apart from errors when i try playing a show. logs in fine & displays full menu & navigates well with mouse. i'm gonna try a fire tv fixed app to see if that works.
unfortunately i had All 4 working completely until this evening when i got an update notice with forces me to the store with no means of updating. itv hub has never worked & iplayer works without issue. a real mixed bag.
thank god it's got chromecast function otherwise i'd be furious with this very limited device. rooting seems inevitable.

So with some trial and error, I was able to get my hands on the apks for the Fire TV Versions of HBO Go, Showtime Anytime and WatchESPN. These are all apps we desperately need on our Android Tvs.
The biggest problem right now is that when you sideload these onto your device, they bring up one of three errors.
If you don't have the Amazon Appstore or Amazon Underground installed at all, it will prompt you to install it, then force quit itself.
If you have the Amazon Appstore or Amazon Underground installed, but you are not logged in, the error will prompt you to login and will take you straight to the login page.
If you have the Amazon Appstore or the Amazon Underground, and you are logged in, the error will claim that you do not own the app in question and either show you details or force-quit you.
Now, it seems to me (a humble peasant compared to many people here) that we're approaching this all wrong. So far, it seems like we've been trying to hoodwink the apps into thinking we're running them on Fire TV devices by modifying our build.prop. I have yet to hear this work. Instead I would propose this: what if we stopped the error message from closing our apps after the prompt? So say, in the first scenario, it prompts me to install the Amazon Appstore, I click ok... and nothing happens, leaving me free to use the app normally.

If a brave soul of the XDA community wants to try this and gift us with modified APKs that will run on our systems, that would be fantastic. I can attach the APKs if you need them

I was able to get this to work! DM me for details (if Amazon finds out how, they will shut down this loophole). I was able to get most apps for Fire TV I could get my hands on to work! The only one that consistently gave me issues was the WatchABC app, everything else works 100% (HBO Go is a little sluggish, but Showtime Anytime is buttery smooth )

It's already available in one of the threads, I've had it working for the most part. I think if you had a keyboard and mouse it would be even better.
Android TV needs a WatchESPN app. I'm not going to use a mouse to control my TV. I know it works but it's annoying. I'll just cast until they hopefully release one. The Fire TV WatchESPN app is fantastic.

The new ESPN app works amazingly on Nexus Player, at least in my experience. Now I just need working Amazon, Vudu , and NBC Sports apps

Do you know if the HBO Go app works with comcast, Comcast hasn't approved the use of androidTV devices for streaming but they have for FireOS and regular Android, currently I use the regular Android app, but proper TV UI and remote navigation would be good.
UPDATE:
It does indeed appear to be a separate app that activates has a fire tv device so can be activated with comcast, but its pretty laggy, does anyone have the most up to date fire tv version, I'm running 2.7.06
Looks like I spoke too soon, seems like I can't get anything to actually play, just force closes.
