german T-mobile user needed - Nokia Lumia 800

Hi!
I just got my brand new Lumia 800 yesterday. It was imported from german T-mobile (Telekom.de).
It came with a €50 VOICECASH voucher for apps but it requires activation with SMS from T-mobile first.
My only attempt to activate the free apps card failed with a network related problem.
Anyone activated it already?

I got one to...
A friend of mine activated it successfully... he had no credit card so it was great for him... He activated it without a t-mobile sim...
He used his three Austria sim card an had no problems

I got mine yesterday (15th of November).
Sent the activation sms today, following the German instructions and activated the phonecash card with no problems. I used a Greek GSM sim card.

I have T mobile to and with Greek sim the answer was to contact a phone number..

I have mine and activated it successfully. I'm on T-Mobile Germany!
Sent from my Lumia 800 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

I activated mine with sms from polish t-mobile network.
coo ;-)

TV using non Virgin SIM.

Guys,
If I was to activate the TV sub with a virgin SIM, and then swap it out to use my TMobile SIM would I still be able to use the TV function while the TMobile SIM is in there until the 30 days runs out?
Thanks
Dave.

I don't have TV coverage in my area to check it out but from what I've heard you only need the virgin SIM to activate the subscription. Might actually work out cheaper to keep buying a new PAYG SIM and get the 90 initial trial, £10 for three months as opposed to £15 + a SIM (they do come with £5 calling credit still don't they?) that you can sell on to anyone who doesn't use the Lobster 700TV.
TV on non Virgin SIM
YES I do it at the moment with Orange SIM after unlocking via Virgin.
BUT you'll have to insert Virgin SIM every 30 days to renew TV licence.
No TV license update.
Well I unlocked mine, used Vodafone sim, replaced with Virgin to update license but no go!
Entered into explorer address bar Virgin sms my friend had sent.
www.mobiletvportal.co.uk/vm/index.asp?go=nextfile.asp
But it says I have a blocked ip address.Could it be because phone unlocked?
could i please have the unlock code for the lobster ive looked everywhere

Xda Mini S Sim Problems

I have recently purchased a "unlocked" phone which was a O2 Xda Mini S off ebay. It is supposed to work with pay as a you go and contract sims.
When we inserted our orange contract sim into it we found that we could use it to phone out and recieve calls, but could not text out or recieve them. When you try and go into the phone settings it is disabled and will not let you access this feature.
If you insert a pay as you go sim for example like a orange pay as you go, you can access everything and this includes texts out and recieve. Calls work and the phone is fine. You can also access the phone settings to change your ring tones etc.
The seller says that we have a 3g sim and we would need a 2g sim instead. We cannot get one of those and we are very confused what to do. Will they work on contract? Has it been unlocked correctly? Too many questions and no answers. We have tried a new orange contract sim which came recently from orange but to no avail. Orange can do no more for me and 02 will not bother.
Can anyone help as it is a xmas present?

Can someone identify what is wrong with my hero?

Hi all i've been using this forum to solve my problems with phones for a few mounth now but there's one that i can't ( hence why i joined and the one post count , sorry)
I bought a Hero ( t-mobile ) of ebay and i receive the following message - your sim card does not allow a connection with this network.
( this is with an old T-mobile sim card i had lying around and an 02 sim card ( on contract but shouldn't make a difference if the phone is unlocked? see below ))
I then purchased a Super-xsimIV to unlock the phone to any network (Wanting it on 02) however after many attempts to get the Super-xsim to work i relised that the phone was not supported .
I then decided to buy a code via a website that presumably used a IMEI calculator for an unlock code. I bought one and received it and it allowed the 02 simcard to work(ish!)
However i still receive the error, i have a very stong signal on my present phone with 02 - nokia 5800 so it aint the coverage. I did a bit of digging up on the net and found that the phone could actually be barred via IMEI ( how could i check this ) or that the radio is not functioning properly.
* i know this is illegal, but is there a way to change the IMEI by flashing or another method? I've seen a few tools for the windows mobile OS's but none for the androids.
Sorry if it sound confusing , but any help or suggestions at all are appreciated.
Is your sim too old? Try a recent ie 3UK payg sim.
IMEI change is not encouraged.
As Lord Lucan said, its sounds like a very old sim - get a free 3g one. And I wouldn't recommend changing the IMEI either!
Hi ill try a new sim but the 02 one im trying to use is out of a contract phone ( pay monthly ) that i got in august and it works in my nokia 5800.
sean.... here we are trying to adrress your core problem of mobile data connection. It is only to verify if your data sim has developed any fault.
Sorry i didn't meant to come across ignorant or cocky. I bought a t-mobile sim for 79p and if registers correctly , i then went to the 02 shop and got a new sim. On the 02 sim im still getting the error - could this be due to the new sim needing to be registered etc ( he said 2 -24 for a number transfer )
I think so.
The reason I suggested a 3 USIM to try is because:-
With a H3G sim you can take advantage of free skype calling and WLM for chatting as both require data connection thereby easyway to test data connection without actually paying for it. And its perfectly within H3G guideline.

[Q] HTC Hero unlocked, not accepting vodafone sims

Hi there, I have an unlocked HTC hero that was originally on Orange. I unlocked this a while back to use it on the giffgaff network. In the end i switched to vodafone and and got a galaxy nexus.
Move onto now and I had to sell the galnxeus. I tried to use my vodafone sim in the htc hero, but it just comes up no service and when i select vodafone from the networks it does not work. Any other sim card in this phone works fine, its just not accepting vodafone sims. Is there anything that could be causing this?
I have done some googling and found a post (cant link because of stupid 10 post rule) stating that if the 9th and 10th characters are 1 and 2, then it will have issues on certain networks.. ofcourse, my imei has that.. anyone know how i can fix this?

Honor 8 behaving like it's locked?

I've a problem with my new Honor 8. I have a Vodafone contract SIM in slot 1 and when I went abroad to St Lucia I bought a local SIM (flow) for slot 2 and switched over to activate that in the settings. A Simple process i have not done before on this phone but have on my previous Motorola Moto G4. The problem is the only network the phone could see was the other carrier on the island (Digicel) who Vodafone use if I used world traveler plus at £6 a day. The SIM worked fine in my friends Samsung J4 so the SIM was OK. I tried the Flow SIM in SIM1 and it still didn't work.? again it detected the Digicel network but not flow? I tried auto search and manual search?. Actuated roaming and mobile data. Re-started the phone countless times. It's like the phone is behaving as if it's locked for Vodafone only (which is what the guys in the flow shop said?) but I bought the phone from Huawei direct through Amazon as unlocked?
It should be simple and straightforward?. I've checked and re-checked the settings many times
Any ideas?
