[ADDON][X10] BootSounds for CyanogenMod/MiUI ROMS [v01] - XPERIA X10 Android Development

[ info ]
so guys here is a small update.zip to flash on ur CM or MIUI ROM to enable bootsounds!
the sounds will be played during bootanimation!
i have tested this to work on latest CM7 [ARC] and it should work on other devices as well...
Users of my kernel (DooMKernel for CM7/MIUI [ARC/PLAY]) need not bother with this as my kernel already has this inbuilt
[ how to install bootsounds ]
just flash the provided update.zip via CWM5 recovery and reboot device to hear "DROIDDD"!!!
[ how to change bootsounds ]
u can surely have ur own music/file played during boot
for this just replace the file /data/local/android_audio.mp3 with ur own file
[ how to disable bootsounds ]
remount /system as RW
open RootExplorer and modify /system/build.prop
at the end of the file will be
Code:
ro.config.play.bootsound=1
just replace the 1 with 0 to disable the bootsounds!
save file and reboot
[ download link ]
DooMLoRD-BootSounds-CM7-v01-ENABLER.zip
[ additional info ]
this should work on any Andorid device which has CM/MIUI
just replace the update-binary and correct the updater-script syntax for ur device
[ references/sources ]
This is based on the files/info posted at:
How to add a bootsound to CyanogenMod

I have a question
Will this work on stock roms?

Works on fxp047
Hi Bro,
Just flashed on fxp047 and phone got stuck on boot logo, had to take battery out to get the phone to reboot, whilst rebooting no boot sounds either.
I am using fxp kernel if that helps any??
EDIT... Ok i have it working now, my problem was that i delete boot animation zip in system media and also in system/bin, i do it for faster boot, if you want the boot sound to work you need these files.
Thanks Doom for some more great work.

I wouldnt have thought so, DooMLoRD would have said otherwise, however, I would appreciate this on stock ROM if it was possible....

No need for adding anything in miui .
Just rename what you want (mp3) to bootaudio.mp3 & put it in system/media folder .

Doesn't work on CM7 ZMOD, By the way I checked & the files in the package aren't even copied to phone
Edit: sorry I just re-checked & the files have been copied but it just doesn't work
Edit: Oh just saw your edited post below, Yeah I knew it's highly unlikely that it would work but I had to try you know hehe, thanks

i had tried to get it working on stock but the stagefright binary has lots of dependencies so not really sure if it can be...
may be i should look into the system folder of the Galaxy S SCL i have, that one has bootsounds at boot even on stock...

Where is the media folder?

Works like a charm!
Just flashed the zip on FXP047 and booted with 'Drroooiiiidd'
Question, if I replace the audiofile, do I have to give it the same name? And can I also change bootanimation?
EDIT: Changed the bootanimation and renamed the file to android_audio.mp3, Works perfectly!

probably its best to take it up with the developer of that ROM...
this will work on pure CM based... also this needs CM ramdisk to function correctly...

i am trying to find a solution for stock roms

Just flahed (with cwmrec) this on FXP47 using CobV6DoomKernel for fxp (1113) and no boot sounds am i missing something? the line has been added to build prop, but no audio file in system/media - just the bootanim and audio folder.
Edit: I tried placing an audio file "/data/local/android_audio.mp3" but still no joy
Also tried on Doom v5a FXP kernel / no joy
Sorry if its just me being dumb - any ideas what i am doing wrong anyone?!
Thanks

I've been using bootsounds in my MIUI firmware without fix/addon.
Its simply - place bootaudio.mp3 into 'media' in your rom.

@anonymous i got a boot loop while i was applying a theme
and this was written in addictive tips
It has been brought to our attention that the following method will not work for some devices running stock ROMs because their manufacturers have made the ridiculous decisions of either using their own proprietary format for their boot animations (we’re talking about you, Samsung!), or choosing a non-standard path for the bootanimation.zip file and removing the ability to override it by copying a new one to /data/local (that would be you, HTC!).
Please confirm and can you provide a link for custom boot animation for ace ?
any bootanimation will work on any rom, but theme is different story.

are you sure it will work on odex fw ? another member told me u have to be deodexed
i'm not 100% sure, just my understanding is bootanimation doesnt have anything to do with odex/deodex. its just merely a zip file, not apks. well u can try on odex rom, just make cwm backup incase something goes wrong

when i use my stock ROM 2.3.4 there is one file named bootanimation.zip in /system/media . its possible to change it.
but now, I use gingerbread 2.3.6 and i can't find that file.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now i can change may boot animation. its easy dude. just download ur favorite boot animation and place it in /data/local
Sorry for any mistake, my English is not so good. After reading theese few posts i searched in my Galaxy Ace (no brand Italy; stock ROM GingerBread 2.3.6 build XWKT7) and i tried to put in data/local a custom bootanimation.zip. After that i rebooted it and there was no change. It displayed me its stock bootanimation. Where do I have made a mistake?
Thank you, J-Hope.
U need to overwrite original bootanimation.zip file

first make sure that you dont have any files in media file except audio if you have others delete them and now copy any bootanimation.zip to your media file and it will work
Just copy/replace in system media And You Can Use that
So sad men, it doesn't work. The only problem is that I haven't got any bootanimation.zip to replace: I have 2 files bootanimation.qmg and samsungloop.qmg.
I've tried to move everything except audio and put a custom bootanimation.zip in system/media but it boots with a black screen and I can't see the bootanimation. Maybe it doesn't work on Italian stock 2.3.6.
Thanks for your help, again.

[REQUEST] Supercharged services.jar and services.odex

Can someone attach SUPERCHARGED services.jar services.odex for the ICS .562 based ROMS, because I've restored my nandroid backup over 91249124912412 times and I'm really unable to complete the 'operation' . Also the ICS Beta supercharged files (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533044) doesn't work for me ...
I actually did it the last time If someone need them here they are ;]
Wow you nailed it Nice work mate, But honestly, in ICS, the home ADJ is a bit better than AOSP ICS, it's set at 4 (Supercharger will tell it's ADJ6 but bOOM stick said it's 4) so Sony does improve it I was having a doubt to change the ADJ in the new ICS build because i was having some minor problem with Supercharged services.jar Messaging and Browser kept closing by itself. So i think i'll do research for that first
In a meanwhile, please allow me to relink to his thread

so just copy the files in the zip and replace them with the ones stored in system/framework? And then instal V6 Supercharger version 9 RC 8.2. ?
This should work with rooted, unlocked BL, stock .562 ICS and stock kernel?
I hope it is
plz, can someone confirm this?
With adb:
adb remount
adb push services.jar /system/framework/
adb push services.odex /system/framework/
adb reboot
or you just replace them with root explorer
Thnx for the answer! ill give it a try
These files broke my RAY!!!
After install these files with root explorer in /system/framework, my phone freeze.
After reboot, it popup again and again for com.android.phone (or something look like that) has stop and i can't do anything else.
At last i had to flash rom to recover my phone.

[ROM] MIUI V5 based on Stock Jelly Bean

Hallo, this is unoficialll MIUI V5 for Xperia Go based on STOCK JB rom!
First thing that I must to say is "disclaimer":
Everything that is not originally maded by Sony is custom thing, so everything from here is modified Sony files and these files is "custom files"! So before you go to play with these modified files keep in mind that everything from here is custom thing and you installing these things on your own risk! I no want and I will not be responsible if something go wrong, if you lost your private data, if your device can not boot ...etc...etc, you doing everything on your own risk!!! If you no want to risk than skip this thread!!!
Rom is complete but not for daily use! All patches is welcome!
git:
https://github.com/munjeni/miui_v5_lotus
[QUOTE [...] ]have some popup messages with error to phone apk[/QUOTE]
:good:
First impressing after looking through rom-folders is framework-res is "mighty fat". Its nearly double-sized than stock ones.
I have no time to check framework-res because I need to fix smali bugs which prevent first "stable" screen. If some one want to contribute and fix remaining bugs, here is temp folder -> http://munjeni.homeunix.com/temp after initial patchings so we need to look into reject folder and fix remaining smalis to get rom working! If some one patched (and tested) something please attach it here (only working things!) !
My git is here -> https://github.com/munjeni/miui_v5_lotus
Because Micode have no mdpi apks I used them from MIUI V5_MINI PRO_3.4.19
Good news for you, got it!
How to:
remove Phone.apk from /system/app (phone can not boot using this apk! Only a way by now is removing them. Framework smalis need patchings to get this apk and mobile networks working!)
remove Provision.apk from /system/app (Whats use of this apk???)
remove SEMCSetupWizard.apk from /system/app (phone can not boot using this apk)
replace android.policy.jar using file from attachment
Install these modified zip and you are done :good:
You can start reporting everything about this rom! Rom need a lot of work and I have no free time by now to work in them, hope some one use them and patch all remaining bugs! This rom you can use as a base! Hope Sola, P and U guys use this rom and finish them! Rom is 80% finished, 20% is bugs! Enjoy!!!

No need to edit build.prop its edited by default by micode, only you need to use 2 libs from stock rom (libhwui.so and libjni_latime.so) and one binary (installd) and add them to your rom zip, allso you can use all frameworks from current rom and add to your rom zip, allso you need to add shelld service to ramdisk, and allso you need to remove some apk from your zip (see previous post) and you will get rom working!
Make sure compile hdpi apks instead of xhdpi (you need to find where is xhdpi definition and change them to hdpi)... !
Edit:
Forgot to let you know something. You need:
adb shell chmod 06755 /system/xbin/*
adb shell chmod 755 /system/bin/*
...because some files have no right permission!

Good news for P guys Got booted for Xperia P
Working: Launcher, Statusbar, Toggles and also task manager!
not working: anything else (even file explorer won't open and get reboot on lock! but will try to fix )
EDIT:
got working other Mi programs by replacing android.policy.jar (so it's a smali bug) but modems are not working and settings is a bit miss sized
will try to fix these :good:
hope we can get a fully working MIUI V5 :fingers-crossed:
Well, since you have working build you can start patching frameworks. You no need to use patchrom anymore, just simple using apktool you can patch a rest of smalis trought "reject" folder / reading logcat...

Maybe never, maybe soon, I don't know! Now I am very satisfied with stock rom + ex.se and simple thinking stock rom is better that MIUI, so no need by now to waste time in making bug clean MIUI v5 Hope some one use them and finish them?!
well, all the good stuff from miui are in the ex.se so..
And for those who want the "iphonish" look, just ad the miui launcher found at playstore
I just love MIUI music Player, sad that is not ported to another rom

Porting MIUI will ever be difficult for our phones, because we haven't "standart hardware", like ST-E U8500 chip, mali gpu and some other things. So, whatever rom we would like to port needs to get the drivers for that. It would be quiet easier, if we have a Qualcomm chip and an Andreno gpu.

true, but MIUI sure is worth it
wouldn't it be easier to wait for a stable cm10 and use that to port from another cm10 based rom?
