[Q] Rooted 3.1 to rooted 3.2 procedure? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I haven't seen instructions on how to upgrade a rooted 3.1 tab 10.1 to rooted 3.2. Has anyone documented this yet?

stock or custom rom?

Flash any of these:

I'm at stock 3.1, just rooted. I wasn't aware there were other ROMs. I'm interested in the new Allshare - which of the ROMs on the list are the stock 3.2, just rooted? How do I decide?

Well, you don't need to flash a ROM to get AllShare. The apk is available on XDA - just search around. I got it and it works 100% (stock 3.1, rooted).

P7510 UEKMM ODEX + UPDATE to KMN
OR
P7510 UEKMM DEODEX + UPDATE to KMN
Both are stock 3.2 with rooted. If it is deodexed, then you can install custom themes

Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A

I'm using task 650's latest 3.2 ROM, it comes with allshare baked in.

Does it matter if my os version is 3.2 when I root?

Does it matter if my os version is 3.2? I am gonna root my Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 soon but those who has 3.2 can't root!
You can flash a stock 3.2 rooted rom or any other custom rom relying on 3.2 which come pre-rooted.
All after installing CWM with Odin.

Please read here... This thread should answer most of your questions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457
If you are wanting to upgrade to Froyo but are not sure about playing with custom roms, due to fear of bricking, etc... just do a factory upgrade to GB via Kies... no risk in doing so... and if anything was to go wrong, it's Samsung factory upgrade so you should be covered via warranty.
If you are brave enough to venture into custom roms, there are few options available for you. GB roms are pretty safe... no need for pre work... just download the custom GB roms and flash using Odin3... most of these roms will work for both US & INT versions of the players, provided that you flash the right kernel. Anyway... do some reading. Good luck...
Also, if you flash a kernel first, you can make a nandroid backup which can take you back to froyo.

Not really afraid of trying out custom roms i just feel the need to do a full backup before diving in in case something screw up but cant find any guide for doing so
i tried kies but it seems like mea models are not having GB updates from sammy
Flashing the kernel seems like a good idea but is it rom dependent let say rj custom kernel for intl version will it work on froyo assuming it is from GB (not sure)
Again i want to do a full backup before trying things up

Kernel version is independent of android version. I believe both yp-g70 kernels are based on the source thar Samsung released with froyo anyways.

If you want to install a different kernal, I recommend u to use Entropy512's kernal and when you flash, use an older version of super one click because you need to root it.

[Q] Q's about installing ROM & Kernel on Player 5.0 INTL

Hi. I wont introduce myself as there is no need for that, i'll just say that i have no how to PROPERLY install a ROM and Kernel on an Android. I know how to do it in Symbian S60V5, but that was ages ago.
I have a Galaxy Player 5.0 International, YPG70-EB confused
I already rooted it, but i dont like the TouchWiz 3.0 at all. I installed a custom TW 4.5, its much better but it crashes often. So i got rid of it.
Anyways, what is a Kernel? Do i need to put a custom Kernel? If yes, before the ROM or after the ROM? Do you install the both via ZIP file in
Android System Recovery (3e) ?
I'm sorry for being a total noob, i already tried this once and i hard bricked my Player. Cost me 20 euros to fix it.
Firmware version: 2.3.5
Kernel version: 2.6.35-G70XXKPF-CL562492 ([email protected] #2)
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XXKPF (KPF, not KPH )
flash rj's kernel first through odin then flash a rom

Link for custom ROMs
Go to this link. You can find all the custom ROMs as well as stock ones for the Samsung Galaxy Player. Note that the stock based ROMs are simply modified versions of stock firmware, most have alternate launchers installed. The non-stock based ROMs usually have some problems, so if you want a fully working ROM with cool tweaks, use a stock-based one.

[Q] How to upgrade to Android 4.3

Hey there. I'm having trouble upgrading from Android 2.3.7 to 4.3. I want to use CyanogenMod 10.2 and at least according to the gapps download page you need 4.3 to use it. On the stock firmware my Wi-fi doesn't work and it won't let me update Android without being connected to it. In CM7, the WiFi works but I don't see an option to upgrade Android. Is there some way I can upgrade Android without being connected to Wifi, or some way from CM7?
Thanks.

I upgraded mine to 4.3 with supernexus 3 v.1. It's working fine. I did a clean install of 4.1.2 with ATT stock rom through Odin and then flashed Supernexus

Thanks - can you tell me where to find a 4.1.2 stock rom? Or do I have to upgrade Odin Lite to do it?
Also, as a complete and utter noob, I'm just kind of confused as to what the difference is between flashing firmware through Odin versus using Clockwork Mod to install a ROM from SD card? Thanks.

You can download the desired stock firmware from sammobile.com/firmware OR from samsung-updates.com
Is there any special reason you want to go to stock? I'm currently on Nameless ROM (Android 4.4.2) and it's surprisingly fast. Previously I had stock 4.0.4 which had hude battery drain and then on CM 10.1 which was fast but to buggy for serious use.
