Razr is uncomfortable to hold - a case as a solution? - Motorola Droid RAZR

I just recently picked up a Razr and so far the phone is great. The only issue I have is that the phone is almost too thin. Its pretty hard to hold securily with one hand and navigate with your thumb. I'm finding the best way is to told it with your left hand and navigate with your right hand. Not really the best solution.
After playing with some other 4.3" phones and not having any issues holding them (the Bionic for example is much more comfortable in my hand) I'm thinking the phone might actually be too thin. I'm hoping someone has found a case that makes holding the phone more comfortable.
Any ideas?

I have just received my Otterbox Defender case and the rubber outer sleeve makes it much easier to hold. The case itself adds bulk to the once so slender phone but to be honest I love it

much comfortable to hold the phone when naked. i got the otter box commuter and less than 24hrs i returned it. having a hard time texting and the lint on the rubber kills the beauty of the phone.
edit: i ordered CIMO tpu case just now

Found when it was naked it would become uncomfortable after a while and now I can also reach the very top left without danger of it slipping. Do agree that the rubber is a lint magnet

I assume (hopefully) that you are refering to the phone being naked?

Another vote for a cheap TPU. No lint and good grip but takes away from the beauty of the phone. Makes the phone seem really big once the thinness is hidden.

Hmmm you say its uncomfortable to hold in one hand and use...a case wont change that the razr may only have 4.3in screen it has nearly a 5in build and a case would only make it bigger although I will say the otterbox does add a lil weight that helped me get over my need for some heft...but since I can palm a basketball I have no problem navigating the razr real estate

Picked up OtterBox commuter and love it so far. Threw a screen protector on and good to go.

looks Sexy!
But the only problem is, I like the Kevlar back of the phone. Plus, a cover adds bulk to the device...
Is it really necessary to have a case, since the phone is strong?

IMO, it is necessary to have a case because a naked Razr is slippery. And that's how your Razr will get hurt the most: dropping it.

I agree with ukbt. See my post HERE for more pics and description of this Nillkin TPU case.
Much lighter and less bulky than Otterbox, etc. Plus, if you choose a transparent one, you can still see the "sexy" Kevlar back!

I had an Incipio on my Bionic and I don't recommend it. It looks the same as the Razr (open top and bottom) which always worried me. When it did finally take a spill, it got dinged up pretty good on both sides - where it was covered by the case.
Needless to say, the case was ruined afterwards. TPU all the way...

Motorola Droid Razr case recommendation, which one do you prefer?

I'm looking for a best case for Motorola Droid Razr, i used a plastic case before, but i wanna change a better one, just like this.
leather protective case
Seem that it can protect the cellphone well enough and looks cool.
any other case that can offer good protection and looks cool?
I'm using the Incipio case right now. Loving it. It makes the phone feel a lot more solid, it's easier to hold, and not very bulky too.

I like the Cruzerlite TPU cases/skins. Look great, $9 and change a piece on amazon . All the cutouts are perfectly placed. Also adds little to no bulk to the phone, and protects the phone from drops as it absorbs shock very well. Available in many different colors and
designs. I purchased a clear one first and was so impressed I got three more. Picked up a red, green, and blue one to go along with the clear one I already owned. I got the "androidified" design. Little android men on the cases. Also the android men are printed on the inside of the cases so they won't rub off over time. Some quick pics.

All black, hard rubber, stays on phone well, minimal thickness, easy to slide in and out of pockets, still good enough grip to make the phone easy to handle while out of pockets.
Would recommend. Simple yet stylish.
i have the otterbox defender, and im pretty happy with it except for one thing. The plastic screen protector produces some kind of strange shimmering effect i did not see on my defender cases for my droid x or blackberry. haven't found any info on it. anti glare, maybe? idk. don't care for it, if anyone knows how to make it go away let me know.

What's some good RAZR Max accessories?

I'm looking into ordering some.accessories for my Max's such as a case and screen protector. Don't want anything too bulky so I figured I can get some input here. Also do these phones require screen protection since they are gorilla glass or no? What's some other great access?

I bought a few cases from Amazon:
Hyperion tpu, diztronic and two androidified cases.
The diztronic is very good since it has cut outs for the volume and power, the hyperion is the slimest but there are no cut outs and that's just not practical.
If you like the design of the androidified cases then they would be your best bet at this point IMHO.
There is one case that i haven't tried but looks pretty good, qmadix metalix with kickstand, you can give it a shot.
About screen protectors,it is gorilla glass but I'd rather be safe than sorry, so i found some good quality ones on ebay very cheap, I'll try to post a link when i get back home.

I did the same. I like it, but the buttons are just slightly more difficult to get too. I wish they just made the case to cover the buttons...
I own several cases for the Razr Maxx.
1. This one is so-so. Thin, but very little grip. See my review on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0072O4WWE/ref=mp_s_a_2?pi=74x75&qid=1346031779&sr=8-2
2. Silicone, moderate protection, not good grip unless you sandpaper it down, and makes my nose itch (I may have a very mild latex allergy) see my review here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0085OE26Q/ref=mp_sim_s_1?pi=SL500_SY125&qid=1346031994&sr=8-1
And this is the new vender for these silicone cases : http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008HU1WIO/ref=mp_s_a_1?pi=75x75&qid=1346031994&sr=8-1

Sorry. Was distracted when my GF stepped out of the shower
Let's continue :
3. Really good, thin, TPU case. Gives reasonable good grip all around and holes are cut out perfectly. Great price. My second favorite overall case : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251133609747#ht_2208wt_972
4. The Cimo s-line TPU case. A good alternative to the above TPU case. It's a mixed blessing. The back is rather slick, but the extra grip on the sides compensates. Read my review : http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007F3V48M/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?ref_=cm_cr-mr-title
5. Trident Aegis. Best overall case for my Razr Maxx. It does add some bulk but not as much as you might think. The added protection and improved grip are really good. See my review on Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0077IQA16/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?ref_=cm_cr-mr-title
6. The Poor Man's Otterbox. This looked promising at first. Really good grip since it is silicone on the outside (albeit it itches my nose). And a plastic hard cover as the inner layer. Problem is that the plastic inner layer has cheap parts used to snap it on, so you can only put it on your phone once. If you remove it, those plastic hinges will easily break (mine did) and it won't work properly after that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330769434307#ht_1629wt_960
7. Verizon shell and holster combo. Great product in that it has decent protection, great grip, and is not thick. It fits really well with optional belt clip. The only drawback is that the case does not form a lip around the bottom and top of the phone. I need a small lip to keep my thumbs base away from the capacitive buttons on the phone. As such, when I use this case, my thumb accidentally touched the menu or home buttons as I type in landscape mode... Very annoying.

Light Weight Case?

Hi all,
I would like to find a decent light weight case that doesn't collect lint, finger prints and fits well for the DX2. Don't want to break the bank, so could I get some suggestions?
UPDATE:
Let me try and clairfy something, when I say doesn't collect lint or finger prints, I mean the case it's self I know that keep lint / finger prints off a phone it's self is well... So yeah I have seen cases that gather both lint and finger prints really bad.
@Shoople, I have the case/holster you are talking about and while it is a nice strong case it's just to heavier then I want for around the house / office.
END UPD:
Thanks,
If I am not mistaken Verizon makes a case that is all plastic very light weight has a kick in the back and a holster as well. I am not sure on the cost though.
Amazon. Those $5-$10 cases look ****ty but sometimes they can be amazing. I got an Otterbox made for a X for $15 including shipping. Verizon has some good ones in store but they're at little overpriced for me. Best bet is a brand like Otterbox or Sedio. Keep in mind the Droid X is nearly identical to the X2 physically. That doubles the pool from which you can choose.
Fwiw, I've owned 3 different otter boxes, a kraken and one sedio and it extremely difficult to not buildup fingerprints or lint. You'd have to get an airtight case, which isn't crazy cause there are some people on XDA that could make something like that for a lot o' coin.

I absolutely loved the case I got from Verizon, gave it a nice rugged feel, pretty good kick stand and pops right off for battery access. I highly recommend it. Can't remember the price but it wasn't bad. Oh also....stay away from the otter box for the X2 its waaaaaay too chunky

The Defender case is chunky. The Impact case is lighter and still protects. It's what I use. Zero fingerprints because its rubber and doesn't attract lint at all. Only $13 on ebay
I'm rocking the otterbox commuter case from Amazon. It is pretty durable and quite thin. No fingerprints. I believe it was ~$10. A steal compared to otterbox's original price; ~$30

RAZR MAXX Otterbox Commuter vs PureGear DualTek?

I'd normally jump right on the Otterbox Commuter but it's slippery and I hate the lint collecting rubber they are using.
What do you guys think of the PureGear DualTek?
http://www.amazon.com/RAZR-MAXX-Pur...1346850574&sr=8-2&keywords=razr+maxx+puregear
I prefer the DualTek case as its not nearly as slick as the Commuter. I have both cases and the Commuter just sits in my desk drawer.
How easy are the buttons to press on either case? Does the PureGear have good fitment and easy button press?
I tried the commuter on the atrix hd I had and it was really slippery.
What color is wearing better, black or white?
I have the Otterbox Commuter and I find the power and volume buttons easy enough to press. I personally do not find the device slick at all. I have dropped it numerous time and the case has held up very well. It still looks new. I would highly recommend!
I corrected the first post to the correct case (For the MAXX). I wonder which case shows wear the least...white or black.

Since you have both, which case is slimmer? Also, which case slide in and out of your pocket easier? Do you find that the pure gear has more tendency to pop out with a frontal drop?
To me it seems the commuter is slimmer, and I find the DualTek easier to get out of my posket. I have not dropped the phone yet. Hope this helps.
The only problems I find with the commuter are the top gel inserts that cover the mhdmi and charger port. It is kind of hard to get off sometimes but that is a minor quibble. The only other problem is taking the case off and putting it back on. It's a pita!

Hey i just ordered the Dualtek case and I wanted to know hows the case holding up so far? Was it worth it?
I've had my Puregear Dualtek case for almost 2 months now. I love it! I have dropped my phone several times on hard cement and it just left a few nicks on the case and nothing on the phone itself. I've never had a problem with it falling out of the case on a drop. I do find that the phone is slightly harder to hold/use one handed with the Dualtek case, but I do have smallish hands.

Oh, nice. Is the case pretty firm and close fitting, or is there some play to its construction. Also, does it snag things coming out of your pocket?
Thx, in advance.
It is a snug fit, the case is flexible but not like a typical silicon case. It's very smooth, and doesn't attract fingerprints or dust.
I had a diztronics on my HTC Vivid and it was the same very good material. Perfect case, very thin with a classy black and at a good price.

I can't stand using cases (hard or soft) because they ruin the feel of the phone, make buttons difficult to push, ect.
Do you notice that with this case? Or is it thin enough to where it isn't noticeable?

I don't, probably because it doesn't bother me as much... the button openings are actually pretty large on the diztronics. As thin as this case is, of course it does make the phone quite but bulkier than the orginal, but tha's the price to pay for minimal protection.

I concur. I bought the holster combo from VZW, and while I like the thinness, it was too difficult to get out the holster.
I bought the amazon holster combo (it said it was for the maxx hd), and it WASN'T for the Maxx HD, so I couldn't use it.
What I DO like is that I am using the phone skin from VZW with the holster from Amazon. The phone fits, and I can get the phone out without any fuss. Until a good and easy combo comes along, I'm happy.

Hello all.
I found the Incipio Feather Case at a local Rogers store this weekend.
They had the pink, blue and grey versions.
At first I was disappointed, as I always have had black cases.
But the grey is very nice and I've quickly grown to love it. I think it looks great on the phone. I find it is more dark silver than grey personally.

I personally would never buy a case. Because then what would be the point in having gorilla glass, kevlar back and metal frame? Plus they just add bulk and make the phone feel less nice. I rather have the metal be scratched and the paint fall off so it looks much more baddass.
What I DO want is a good holster. Haven't looked for one, but maybe some of the ones meant for the S3 could fit our RAZR HD.
