[Q] serious battery problem help

Hi I have bought vibrant from ebay and using it for about week now
and it has serious battery problem
first of all
right now i am using official updated 2.2
but even before updating there was battery problem so it;s not 2.2 for sure
so i downloaded app called battery minder which gives me % and how many minutes left on my phone
so here is the problem comes when i fully charge my phone
no wifi, no blue tooth, no gps, data turned on it shows i have about like 6 hrs
and when i turn my wifi on and when it;s connected it says i have 18 hrs or something
and when i just turn my bluetooth on without wifi it gives me like 1 more hr from 6 hr so about 7 or 8
and when i make my phone to airplane mode it gives me 22 hrs or something
and the minutes showing on there it;s pretty accruate
so is there way to fix it? and even if there is way to fix it airplane mode and 22hrs i think that's way too little
or is that supposed to be
i don;t know how other ppls battery is so that's why i am posting here
please please help me
i love the phone but battery is just not right
and my point of view right now i do not think it;s the battery because when i turn my bluetooth on it gives me more hrs...
so please help me
i think longest i used in one day is like 8-9 hrs
when i didn;t really do anything with my phone...
maybe i played with it for like 1 hr maximum...
that's maximum usually 6 hrs or 5...
please please help
oh and i tried pulling my battery out and everything...
factory reset...
one last question if it is the battery if i change my battery get it from ebay or something which one should i get if i get those cheap ebay batteries will it damage my phone?
please help thank you so much
If you don't use battery minder how long does the phone last with a full charge. Sorry but I can understand everything you said with the run on sentences.

In other words don't go by what that app is telling you. Also root tour phone and try a custom rom. They all have great battery life from my experiences.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
before i updated my phone to 2.2 i had rooted phone with lag fix and i had horrible battery life that time too
even though i didn;t not had battery minder
it was draining really fast
You need to charge your phone completely will oyster off. After about 2 hours after its at 100% boot into cwm or recovery and flash a new rom like Bionix-V. It almost sounds like whoever you bought the phone from fiddled with it and so the battery stats are messed up.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Typo. I meant charge it while it is off.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
to flash new rom don;t i have to root my phone?
is there way to do this thing without any rooting
because one click root does not work on official 2.2...
and i am kind of noob only been using the phone for week now
thank you so much
Nope, you need to root to flash. I'm pretty sure there is some way to root the 2.2 update, but I don't know for sure since the last time I rooted was two months ago on vanilla 2.1 I'd search the forums and if not, Google is also useful.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
i tried google doesn;t really help even if i found it i am too noob to do things....
if i factory reset my phone will i go back to 2.1 or still stay on 2.2?
... is there anyway you can help easily... i am so worried...
i don't want to return the phone...
I know i am asking too much
if you have time is it possible for you to help me by msn or something
step by step?.....
will that take long time?
i wish i can be good at these things...
thanks anyway
maybe because y your app automatickly assume how long your battery life will last with given program widget ,but i dont think its possible for it lol i would wipe batt stats see what happend
is there easy way to wipe my batt stats?
ether in clockwork recovery or download sgs tools from market but using this make sure u know what you doin you mite brick your phone ! but should be simple if you read what you doin dont just cklick cause if u come back with bricked phone after i said that i will quit xda
can you tell me steps to using that?
so for that i don't need to do rooting?
im sorry il be back once i come back from school uc can goole sgs tools and read up on it or wait until someone else explain to you or waiit until i come back im sorry cant help atm but ill back hung in there
kk i will wait until you comeback i need to go to school in like 30 min anyway

Someone has tried to pass from?
2.3.4 => 2.3.3
2.3.3 => 2.3.2
2.3.2 => 2.3.4
Warning: It's just a question, not the solution.
Regards.
It really works. You can flash 283 - 368 - 181 without problem, fateoas from 4pda.ru try this with success.
P.S: I supposed it earlier

No problems, works fine.
I really hope the problen can be resolved
I put my Arc to SE as this happened to me and i am getting a straight replacement as my handset is less than 28 days old, though when speaking to SE on the phone they said they are aware of the problem and working towards a solution aswell, and i told him of all the users on xda with same problem and they know about it and acknowledged the work of the developers on here trying to solve it also
Seems like SE is watching the forum to some degree, nice to know that they not only support devs but watch what were all upto
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
Well that is good to hear that SE is actually watching our development and knows about the issues we are having with the 0% battery, hopefully someone either one of the devs or even SE can work out a good fix (apart from replacing physical parts) for all of us that have fallen into the 0% trap. cheers for that Lancerfq.
I am confused as to wether this. was the same problem I had as all I did to fix 0% batery was to reflash the files , I dont know , but it works now, thanks to Roa ,confused lol
Sent from my MT15i using xda premium
Maybe to temporarily resolve the problem, someone could use the Docomo's modified arc firmware or kernel and take the interesting files or scripts and put that on a ftf neo firmware.
So the neo will display 1%, without turning off
.
Downgraded from 2.3.4->2.3.3->2.3.2. Installed battery from my colleague's Xperia Arc (its not the same battery but the pins are the same) and my phone started as normally So i have purchased external battery charger from ebay and when he comes, ill try to charge the original battery. Its not permament solution, but youll have working phone

I have no idea how did you managed to do that, I've tried it befor and for me it was not the solution. It is not working. Same issue. But if you are lucky like this, well, then... I am glad because of your success...

Anyone tried to boot with the different SIM card? I cant do that, cos my battery died with the 0% bug So if u can try pls post the result The suggestion coming from one SE software developer, here in Bulgaria.
For whom that have unlock bootloader, you can try this to help us solve/workaround this issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312398
i was actually happily with my rooted 2.3.4 for a couple of hours when suddenly the phone hangs, and when rebooted, wifi somehow not working. so, i downgraded back to 2.3.2 and got 1% battery.. this happened before but off, take out then in the battery, then on again, solved it... but after applying gingerbreak, the 0% ghost came... tried flashing with 2.3.4 again using flashtool but still 0%..
so, still no solution yet? read the thread at arc and they doesn't seem to found the cure also yet is it? so, my phone is bricked then?
is it because of gingerbreak? does the original upgrade to 2.3.4 changed the kernel and when trying to use it again, it somehow brick the phone?
damn! thankfully i haven't sold my htc wildfire yet... hope there WILL be SOLUTION...
maybe you can get rid of gingerbreak and try use Flashtool or other method to do rooting
BTW 2.3.2 is the easiest to get battery 0% problem, 2.3.3 & 2.3.4 seems no this problem.

Please don't underestimate your problem dude.
I am facing the same problem now,
But my situation is worse. I suggest
you immideatly reset your counter,
remove the triangle, unroot your phone by flashing the original firmware and send it to service for repair.
Think about it, after some weeks, if you let it like this you will want to send it to repair but you can't connect it to odin on PC because of damaged usb-port. So they will know that you have been rooted and you will lose you warranty.
That is the problem I am facing now....

I think not. When I was using Litening Rom, I've experienced this. But I when changed to RR, it also gave me the blinking image of the battery percentage. And then one day, it magically vanished like it was fixed. Try using other USB cable. I tried using my moms' and I never saw it again.
hi, thks for replying me , appreciate tht a lot, well, when the battery was charging by it self , i went to cwm and made wipe battery state, and it was gone, ! 2 days and nothing happend, ouuf! hope it will never happen to me or others! see u guysssssssssssssssss

[Q] After goodbye didn't wake up

hi everyone
I updated my lumia 920 to portico and everything good just one thing that's if my battery goes empty and my phone says goodbye I connect the wire charger but the phone didn't wake up and take one hour to start and the battery percent was 6%
please help me
sorry for bad English :crying:
If ur battery goes down, then it is perfectly normal that u have to charge it for a while untill u can power it on again. This is the case both with iPhones and Android devices. This way the battery is protected from emptying, since then, it would be needed 4 the battery to get replaced, which on Lumia920 isn't an easy process. Heck, I don't think it can be done at home, maybe if some1 is skilled enuff.
thanks for u
but when I rolled the software back to (1232.2109.1242.1002) the problem disappear
and if I updated to (1232.5951.1249.1002) it's came back
where's the problem

You just answered your own question. If it is there with one ROM but not the other then the problem is obviously the ROM is not compatible with your hardware. You also should not be flashing ROMS with less than 50% of your battery remaining. This is just to keep the risk of loosing power in midflash down.

no I tried to flash many ROM with different product code (059r0j3 my won) but the problem still found .... I think the problem with portico and my hardware

I think I've just bricked one of my Us!

Hello everyone...
I'm a new member, but certainly not new to this great forum! Unfortunately, though, my first post is to report - and ask for help with - a little disaster!
Okay, so, without further ado, here's how it went down.
I had flashed both phones with ICS earlier, but wanted to get them back to the factory ROM. Having bought yet another U, I found out that the original GB ROM for phones sold in Saudi Arabia is st25i_6.0.b.3.188, as opposed to .184, which I had also flashed the phones with after I had some issues with the aforementioned ICS.
So, last night I located and downloaded the .188 kernel and flashed it using the flashtool. As it usually happens, the flashtool window seemed to go all black, as though the application had hung on me, which wasn't the first time this had happened. I just gave it some time as I normally do and then disconnect the phone, and that never caused any problems. To my surprise, though, when I first started the phone and checked the "about phone" tab in settings, it turned out that the installed version was .184!
So, again, I attempted to reflash the thing, this time being sure to remove all other kernels from the firmware folder within the flashtool. I then just let it do its thing and went off to bed (bad idea!).
In the morning, though, the phone simply wouldn't start. If I hook it to either the computer or the charger, the LED near the front camera will light up red, indicating that the battery is being charged, but nothing else. I can't even boot into recovery mode!
So, now what can I possibly do (besides buying a new one, that is)?

This has all signs of a low battery problem ... plug in your phone to the charger for half an hour and wait ..... pull it out and it should boot .. Post your findings in any case :good:

:good: Thanks dude! It fired up on its own as soon as I plugged it into the charger! I just charged up the batter to full 100%, and I'm about to try to reflash it for the third time. What I don't get, though, is why the battery got drained when the phone had been plugged into the laptop all night! There was about 82% of charge left in the battery when I first plugged it into the machine.
I'll report back again after reflashing. Thanks again.

Charging via usb is very slow and if you've left something like wifi on all night then there's no doubt that it you're battery is gonna die
Any way , why GB ? The .89 ICS is supposedly awesome . Haven't tried it myself but, I've heard rave reviews from all the people who have.

Yeah, that's probably it. I had this (obviously misguided) idea to try to get the phone back to the exact way it was out of the box, and then wait (and wait, and wait...) for Saudi Arabia's turn for the ICS update. Now I know better, thanks to you and all the other helpful folks over here!
