Hello All And Help? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All, I am new to the XDA Forum, bit scared of the Noob video
I love my gadgets, I love my phones and love all the stuff you can do it. I have the HTC Desire had it now for 21months, my network is Orange UK. I plan to stay with Orange as I have a good price plan and good network around where I live.
My big question is to you, I need help and honest advice on what phone I should looking at getting next. I love android I love how it works.
Here is the phone I have looked at.
Samsung Galaxy S2
LG Optimus 3D
HTC Sensation XL
Iphone 4s
I can upgrade to all of these.
I'm asking as I have to have the phone for 2 years
So help, honest advice please.

Welcome to forums
Thread moved to Q&A due to it being a question. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.

I would get the Galaxy Nexus unless you can get a Galaxy Nexus on that network. But out of the list, Galaxy S2 is by far the best.
Please thank me if this helped!

Good to hear and welcome.
Feel free to root your phone and flash a custom rom.
Few things first.
There is no way to s-off your phone at this time. We're working on it though.
No ETA.
NEVER ask for ETA's from developers! Since most don't like it we try to encourage others not to even ask.
ALWAYS search and read the forums before posting a new thread or even posting a reply in a thread. This will keep you from getting flamed.
Once you get a decent amount of knowledge and experience please share and contribute with the community. That makes my job (as moderator, not 24/7 tech support) a lot easier.
Enjoy!
Thanks! I dont plan on rooting/custom roming for about another month, ill take my time to warm up to understand what S-Offing is and what not. I do know my cousin bought an HTC Amaze to which he installed custom roms/kernels. I am not very demanding so i do not mind. Stock rom is ok, and i hope to see the development grow for this phone as its pretty new

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S II Vs. Samsung Galaxy S III

All right guys, i have searched for this topic with zero to absolutely ridiculous results. Money wise im not so up for it. but is it worth the update knowing that a new iphone is coming out, pushing Samsung for a SGS4 perhaps? i want to know what you guys think. share your thoughts with me.
Thanks in advance
Your search came back with zero because we dont allow vs. threads. If you want the phone, go but it. If you dont, then dont. If you want to talk about the GSIII then post in the GSIII forum.

Receiving T-Mobile Galaxy S II (SGH-T989) Have Some Questions

Hey guys,
HTC Sensation recently broke and Asurion is sending me a Galaxy S II. It was either that or an HTC Amaze and since I wasn't impressed with the Sensation I opted not for the Amaze but S II rather. Couple of questions I have though as I am pressed for time at work right now and don't have the time to search. So here goes:
Can someone point me to how to root it once it arrives?
Are the ICS ROMs stable and which bugs does it contain?
The S II uses CWM recovery correct?
The T-Mobile S II is the SGH-T989 and not this I9100 model I have been seeing right?
That's all I can think of for now. Anything other useful tips or advice I'd greatly appreciate it! I feel happy to be a part of the S II family now. It seems like a really good device that I will be happy with. Thanks again!

Does the Galaxy Nexus now have the edge over the S2????

I am not asking this question based purely on the specs but more based on the specs and the world these phones live in. What i mean is, both are proven, good, reliable Android phones. But consider the price you would pay for an unlocked contract free handset on Ebay or somewhere. Availability off latest software and updates etc.
I was looking on Ebay UK and seems you could get a good example of either phone for around £250. Now i hate bloatware so rooting on the S2 is essential to remove any crap useless programmes.. stock market prices app as standard...!! do they think we are all rich stock market traders!!!
Galaxy Nexus is pretty much bloatware free and i actually now run the F1 Galaxy Nexus ROM on my S2 and i prefer it 5000% over any version of GB or ICS.
So seeing now that JellyBean 4.1 is available for Nexus phones and may/may not ever appear on the S2 and if it does it could take a while. Google Nexus phones seem to be getting their Google updates pretty much straight away, take these things into account....
Does anyone think the Nexus might currently have gained an edge over the S2, maybe even the S3 and the best Samsung Android phone currently available?

True !!
really... is that the intelligent replies that are going to be posted??? how disappointing...
well your worthless replies can be ignored seeing as you obviously couldn't be bothered to back up your answer with a few reasons why.
Worthless questions are doomed to get worthless answers. Specially when they are made in the wrong forum.
I think this beats both the Nexus & the S2.
(as the poster above me said, you deserve nonsensical answers because threads like this are stupid. They don't belong here. This isn't Sammobile or GSMArena).

S2 General Forum and you say that is the wrong one... a forum for 'general' discussion about the S2 phone. i think asking a question like i have counts as general and i am an S2 owner so i am asking from the point of view of an S2 owner.
So which would be the correct forum oh mighty forum god????
I didn't know you had a learning disability, my apologies.
On top of the general forum you will find a sticky reading:
***QUESTIONS BELONG IN Q&A!***
But hey dude, keep fighting the good fight and ignoring guidelines and rules, after all the whole world is here to serve you!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111
Okay I will tell you what I think about. My suggestion is, that more and more people want the newest Google experience. So they want the Galaxy Nexus. It´s a good device, but it has not the power off the Galaxy S 3. But you must ask, is it be needed? I think not! You can have a good OS without much power. Look at windows phone single processor and 512 MB of RAM and not so bad performance in many cases.
Some little points are very imported you may miss. The GN has no FM-Radio, "only" a 5 MP Camera and no SD Slot. So everybody can choose what is imported for yourself.
One point I miss... Do we need a update each time?
