Hey guys,
I cannot get to download mode mode to root because everytime i try it takes me to Android System Recovery <3e>
and saysApplying Multi-CSC
Installing Multi-CSC
Can't access to '/system/CSC0PS/system/'
Successfully aplied multi-CSC
............and when I reboot it does the same thing again if I try to get into recovery mode
I can't flash my phone because I have to get to download mode to do this..
What do I do to be able to get to download mode?
Please help!

Hold down Power Button + Home Button + Vol Down button .

Sounds like u havent even rooted ur phone. Are u sure u want to flash a rom urself using odin? Anyways if ur still eager to do so use the instructions from post above or use a jig which sets ur device into downloadmode automatically. Make sure all drivers are correctly installed and kies is not running when u use odin...cheers

I flashed my S5660 to S5830 because some idiot told me to. Need help getting root...

How do I root my S5660 with S5830 firmware on it ? The key combinations dont work anymore...
So I can maybe root my phone... And use terminal emulator to get into download mode...
Is there a way to get root?
Tried Gingerbreak, SuperOneClick
first of all, this development subforum is not for question thread. if it aint developing, dont post it here. post in general sobforum instead.
secondly, u dont make any sense at all. what does "The key combinations dont work anymore" have to do with rooting? what key combination u referring to?
edited: just realize, does ur S5660 even boot with ace rom installed in it anyway?

Vol Down + Home + Power to get into download mode?
Home + Power to get into recovery
I am able to get into Emergency Recovery mode... But Odin doesn't get further than <setup connection>
Can you adb reboot download? You need to get into download mode.
To do that I need to be root, correct? And I am not running as root :/

Yeah, I just tried. Haha. Well, maybe your best bet is USBJig. If that doesn't work, take it back to the shop/send it to service and tell them you had your brother's Ace connected and yours connected, ran Kies, said there was an update blah blah. Just try and blag it as best you can.
Risky... Don't know will it work... Try at your own risk....
Flash CWM...
Then reboot in recovery... Format system... Reboot... Phone has nothing in it... Hopefully you'll get your key combinations working...
BTW mind you... At your own risk

Doesn't work. Any other idea's ?
cant you use de su (switch user) command when connected trough adb shell?
Nope...
How long does Gingerbreak take normally?
I don't clearly understand if you can get into recovery or download mode, so have you tried this?
adb shell reboot recovery
or
adb shell reboot bootloader
I dont know if this tool work on you phone, but you could search for a compatible one, or simply use the equivalent command lines, they should work, has they are adb command lines and platform independent...
best luck...
P.S.-I suppose you are also trying to get support on S5660 forum, right ...
Cwm
Can you get into clockworkmod recovery?
Cuz then you can restore your backup.
(Btw, WHY should you flash a rom which isn't even made for your phone )
Can I manually root my phone? Eg the gingerbreak method? If I can get my phone rooted, then I can get into download mode so I can flash a new ROM
Afaik download mode doesnt have anything to do with rooting. Even on stock samsung rom unrooted we can easily go into download mode

Key buttons for Galaxy ace, don't know if they are the samw for gio.
Copied from help guide:
Home + Power = Recovery Mode (whether stock or CWM)
Home + Volume Down + Power = Download Mode (normal)
Home + Volume Up + Power = ARMv9 Dump Mode
Home + Volume Down + Volume Up + Power = Download Mode (EMERGENCY)
Hi you havent yet specified what state your phone shows currently.what does it show up when powering on.Does it power on actually.? tell the exact sequence after powering on.
Please try all the key combinations in the previous post.If nothing works then most probably it seems like you have tampered the primary bootloader of your phones arm processor..So only thing you can opt is a usb test jig.if that too doesn't work the phone musnt probably be powered on (hard bricked) and you can send it to samsung for replacement and tell som bla bla story to them(and hope they wont take enough pain to access your internal memory by accessing it at chip level, to know it has an ace firmware.. ). Mostly youll have a replacement if it doesnt even boot via a test jig..
And I hope i am not wrong here.if so senior members pls do correct

I didn't get it. You are not able to boot into recovery? If so then you haven't flashed CMW properly. Try again and get into recovery by volume up + center button + power button.

SGA S5830i OS corrupt, wish to install stock rom from another ace. But How ?

Hi,
I played inside the system files of my rooted SGA S5830i and accidently deleted a log file, I am sorry I don't remember the name. Now, I see an error message always when I open contacts - android.process.acore has stopped working. Same is the case when I open messages - and it takes me to HomeScreen. I tried downloading a lot of Gingerbread OS version .tar files for my model and nothin works through ODIN as well as through Recovery Mode.
Odin says 'connecting' but no luck. Tried different versions of ODIN, removed SD, removed SIM, removed battery and tried aagin and such, but nothing woked yet.Even tried different USB hubs.
Recovery mode just abort the installation of OS Zip file
So I am planning to root another SGA S5830i of my friend, take a back-up of OS and install it to my SGA. I don't think it will work as it never worked through any of the above mentioned methods to flash a ROM.
Can somebody help me in this matter, please ?
First of all, you have to read the RULES!
There is a separate section for questions and trouble shooting. POST IN CORRECT SECTION!
Install proper Samsung drivers. Make sure that odin detects port of the device.
Odin v. 3.07 supports firmware files without splitting. Other versions needs splitted firmware. Use splitfus to do that.
Flash custom roms via clockworkmod recovery.

I tried with all versions of ODIN, but of no use.
Now when I tried through Recovery Mode, the error message says ' Thereis no enough space on the device '
Please Help !
If you want install ROM for your ace"i" you must buut your phone into download mode(not recovery mode/CWM) than install ROM with ODIN .
May I know the difference b/w Recovery Mode & Download Mode ?
What I understans from Recovery Mode is to Press Volume Up button + Home Screen button + Powen On button simultaneously.

Another way exist :-s ?
Oops..
Ive not noticed it.
I think you are in a deep trouble now ..
Your phone is hardbricked.
Hardbricks refers to the phone as
totally jammed, it doesn't show
anything, can't access the download
mode screen. The only solution for
this is by called JTAG flashing, which
is forcing to install the firmware
back to the phone. The process is not
too easy, this includes disassembling
the phone, some soldering required
and flashing by means of using a
flashing device tool.
I cant post a link now. The above text copied from a blog!!
Final hope:tried a battery pull ?

Device not booting, screen stays black

Hello,
after rooting my S2, it is not booting anymore. After the i9100 logo the screen stays black. I did everythin from the description.here with Samsung Quick Root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...t-app-updated-13-09-12-samsung-quick-t1125414
Do I have the wrong Kernel? If yes, were can I get the correct Kernel?
See Attachement.
[Edit]
I found following working kernel: Siyah-s2-v6.0b4-CWM.zip
you should have rooted using the odin method as it the most safest and noob-proof method .. try booting it in the recovery mode /download mode .. if you boot into recovery mode , wipe data and caceh and try rebooting system .. if not booting in the recovery mode , try download mode and if you do boot into it , flash stock via odin .. .. also , before trying these steps , try holding volume up and power button .. you might as well boot up ..
imp .. recovery : volume up + home + power button
download mode : vlume down +home + power button
all the best and hope i helped .. visit http://www.gokhanmoral.com/?cat=5 for more info on rooting ... download the .tar file attach .. select it in pda and flash via odin while phone i download mode .. hope i helped and all the best .. Happy Flashing
