HTC-Update (firmware) fails - 7 Mozart General

Guys,
i have a Mozart branded with T-MO Germany and the latest Mango Update. All is stock, nothing tweaked.
Today I was announced that an HTC Update is due (firmware) supposedly bringing the Tethering to my device.
Unfortunately this updates does not succeed on my device... I tried every recommended thing, switched PCs, hard resetted the device, tried it over and over again.
After a little investigation I found out that my device seems to have pretty old Bootloader and Firmware versions compared to the device my colleague updates successfully this morning... I have the impression, that this might be the reason, why my device keeps failing.
Here the important information:
OS ver: 7.10.7740.16
FW ver: 2250.09.12505.111
Radio softw. ver: 5.50.09.18_22.24.50.09U
Radio hardw. ver: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader ver: 1.25.2250.5 (111337)
Any ideas what the problem could be and how I could fix it?
The error code Zune throws: 80180008 - Update unsuccessful
Thanx for your replies...

Same prob here - I am on b/l 1.32 though.

Hello,
I have the same issues. Did you guys get a result on this?

Hi All,
Just letting you know that I fixed my issue.
I ended up downloading and installing the Telstra branded ROM from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915827 then worked through all the updates and the latest HTC update worked, no error.
Not sure why but anyway I now have internet sharing on my Mozart - happy camper!
Thanks
Adam

Unfortunatly zune does not really tell us whats the problem underneath and the error code does not get us anywhere. Even not the suggested use of WPRestoreToolv2 (4.8.2345) gets us out of the problem.
For what i have found out the reason for the latest HTC OEM Update to actually fail is that its signature can't be verified by the installer on the device and thus the update is not getting installed. The failing signature check itself is caused by the fact that at least one of the previous HTC OEM updates were not installed. This can be verified indirectly by looking for example at the bootloader version.
The solution is quite simple: use cab sender to install the 1st HTC OEM Update and then you can successfully install the second HTC OEM Update, either by using cab sender again or via zune.

Hello bleh815,
I am getting the same issue (error 80180008), and you are suggesting:
[The solution is quite simple: use cab sender to install the 1st HTC OEM Update and then you can successfully install the second HTC OEM Update, either by using cab sender again or via zune.]
Any idea, where I can obtain the 1st and 2nd HTC OEM updates?
ZUNE only finds the 7740.16, but fails to install. I can install the cabs, if I can get hold of the OEM cabs of HTC.
Thanks

it's just the boot loader. That's all. Should not take more then a min to update.
What are the benefits of updating to this bootloader?

Good a question - what we get with new bootloader ?
Hello,
Probably only the resolution for the errors identified in Zune.
I never had these errors when I made the Titan updates, possibly some correction thinking in Tango future update?
Thanks,
Santos

Hello,
This update is available in HTC Europe page, so it should be for all europe countrys I think, and not specifically to one or two
http://www.htc.com/europe/help/htc-titan/#download
Thanks,
Santos
My Titan is from Brazil, iv just updated it.
No problems at all.
@dAV84
For french http://dl4.htc.com/managed-assets/s...e/htc-titan-zune-RUU/spl_2.6.160015.3_FRA.exe
Modified "spl_2.6.160015.3_WWE.exe" en "spl_2.6.160015.3_FRA.exe"
I think this is only for the Titan's that have problems updating due to bootloader issues. I think there was a bad batch released which couldn't update through Zune because it fails between Step 6 - 8.
And there isn't any real benefit with updating the bootloaders. The more farther we go from v1.10, the less likely that we will have a full unlock or even interop for that matter!
Finally!!!!!
No combination of words can accurately describe my happiness of getting this update. After months of being stuck in 7740, my Hong Kong Titan can finally get updated to 8107 and install that HTC Firmware update just like everyone else's unbranded Titans!

[Q] Just checking in on Tango Updates for UK..

I own the RM-801, "UK Country Variant" Product Code# 059L7C2
The website: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/lumia/europe/availability/?page=3

Anyone else here have the same model? How about other models with "update available showing on this site - have you been able to Zune update yours yet or am I misinterpreting what Nokia's meaning is?
Thanks!

All phones are probably not updated at once, but the disconnect trick should make the update available to you immediately. Did mine an hour ago without any problems. First got the OS update, and then got another with the Nokia specific updates (with wifi-tethering).
Ive been havin problems tryin to find my product code as its not on the back of the sim holder, and ive been havin probs gettin NCS to work so was wondering if anyones got other ideas on how i can find it.
Ill try the discon trick as well see if i get any joy, but im still waitin for the update myself.
however im glad the update is finally being rolled out after much talk about it

Thanks - so far the disconnect trick isn't working either; tried about 2 minutes ago.. Sounds like it's pretty close though!
nodo works fine you need right timing
I have the same product code. I received the update with the disconnect trick. Try harder, you can do it
everyone is talking about "the disconnect trick", but what is it for the ones who don't know it??
You hit Update in Zune, and after 2 seconds you disconnect you computer from the internet. Do that a couple of times untill it finds the update, then reconnect to the internet and install
This method of update erases any content?
Thanks
I have an Unlocked / UnBranded Lumia 800 and I just got the update in Zune without any disconnect trick. Plugged it in and it said update was available. First update (8112) has just finished and its picked up another 8773 update which is installing now.

Quickest way is to contact Nokia Care and ask for it, they should be able to look it up by your IMEI number (dial *#06#).. You can also follow @NokiaHelps and ask them to follow you so they can send you the code in a Direct Message. Do not post your IMEI in public, EVER!

Im in the uk but nokia said it possible that because the update servers are so busy with everyone updating it could take a while. So still waitin at the mo.
Thanks for the advice, much apreciated

Nor me. Can't get the disconnect trick to work either.
Unbranded Lumia 710, direct from Nokia. You'd think these would be the first handset to be updated?
I didn't have the Zune update either so I had to manually install the updates via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737907
The disconnect trick probably only forces the Zune server cache to refresh so you can actually check again. You can only check for an update once in a 24hour period. If you check again in the same time you will get a result from the server cache which is obviously the same as before.
While the Nokia site may say the update is available that means the update is made available to the Zune update system. It may take some time for the update to actually propagate to your device at which time you get the notification on the phone.
Checking and finding the update on Zune without the notification is more luck that wisdom
The trick with forcing the update through Zune is Timing, You can try as many times as you like until you time it perfectly, Roughly two seconds after hitting update disconnect from internet, Can be frustrating but stick with it. :fingers-crossed:

Tried Solution 1 and by the 4th time ... now I'm updating my Lumia 800
Edit:
Completed with OS Version: 7.10.8112.7 (10 Steps in total)
Click on Zune->Setting->Phone->Update but Zune stated no more update
Applied Solution 1 again.
... now updating (as I'm typing) to OS Version: 7.10.8773.98
Edit:
Btw, in your excitement to update ... you click update button and forget to turn on your wifi (internet connection) on your pc ... you have to repeat Solution 1 again as the Update Notification will disappear after the error message.
My Lumia still updating ...
Edit:
Completed with OS Version: 7.10.8773.98 (9 Steps in total) but cannot do verification as Zune proceeds to the next update which is Nokia update.

Lumia 800 Tango OEM Update

I believe this is the Lumia 800 RM 801 Tango OEM update:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._bd1d7e1563c72dea541aeabdefc5ca074fd907d1.cab
Found with Wireshark -> Updated to 8773 via cab sender then let Zune update this..
Sorry for bute what is the difference between this cab and the other from Navifirm?
Didn't work for me. Gave me an error after showing the "completing the update" message or something like this.
So tried using the cab sender method with this from 7.10.8107.79 and it failed. Don't suppose you snagged the link to the intermediate update as well?
Someone else already had ->

Is for RM 801 - and must do the 2 cab updates in the thread above first!!!
Guys you scare me so much !! Why there are 2 links for every update in the thread you mentioned??? What should i do with those 2 files under the "OS:" line?? Should i install them one by one or what???
EDIT: Hey guys.. i tried sending the first .cab to my phone and it kept saying "Installing updates............" but nothing happened then i did the totally stupid thing of unpluging my phone. Now i don't know what to do. If i turn it on it keeps showing me the photo with the clear statement "do not unplung the device" sort of photo. Im so stupid what shall i do now??
EDIT 2: After staying like this ( with that picture telling me not to unplug the device ) and after many manual restarts it just booted up and said Update succesfull. Huh..
My unlocked Lumia received 3 updates... Just saying

No, you mustn't. You will mess up your phone if you deploy those two only. You should also deploy language packs for all languages currently supported by your phone, and in European Lumias it usually means all 22 of them.
So, once you installed all 24 "diff-7.10.8107.79-7.10.8112.7" cabs you can continue with all 24 "diff-7.10.8112.7-7.10.8773.98" cabs bringing your OS up to Tango version. Then you can safely deploy the OEM update cab containing the .122220 firmware, which requires OS version 7.10.8773.9 - it fails to install on phone running the 8107 OS.

The OEM firmware .122220 in RM-801 gives you internet sharing and ringtone flip-to-silence. And it requires your OS to be 8773.9, otherwise the deployment fails.
OS 8773 gives you Tango - new MMS features, new wallpapers and some under-the-hood secret improvements.
OS 8112 gives you the ability to upgrade to Tango, because the 8873 update is not cummulative but a differential update requiring you to be on 8112.
And that's pretty much it. If that's what you asked.

HTC OEM Update 2250.21.51201.707

Hi for everybody!
So I've downloaded that HTC OEM 2250.21.51201.707 Update CAB and send it to my Russian Mozart with 2250.21.51201.411 onboard. It accepted it and updated successfully, but I see no difference between those versions. The question is: should it be any difference?
Updated:
Just got some firmware update in Zune after updating! Sorry, did not catch it, but I have second Mozart and gonna do the same.
2250.21.51205.707
Well, the Zune HTC OEM update was just 2250.21.51205.707 with bootloader version 5.12.2250.5(139188). The question still remains: what's new?
Since it seems annoying bug with unresponsive screen after un-plugging a charger (and I hope all those not-able-to-answer-the-phone-until-you-on-and-off-the-screen bugs too) is gone though, I'm gonna update my main Mozart and I'll try to catch this update.
2250.21.51205.707 is so last year. My Mozart is running 2250.21.51301.401.
If I remember correctly 51205 was the one that enabled internet sharing.
Not interesting I've downgraded from 5.12 to 5.10, the installed OEM package 2250.21.51007.401 and Mozart accepted it... Then I tried to flash 401th ROMs, and they didn't

[Q] 7.10.8112.7 failure. Continually Rebooting. Phone not working

I had a reliable debranded Mozart which has been unlocked by Orange in the UK and was running the ansar rom. It has accepted many updates in the post (post debranding) via Zune.
Unfortunately the 7.10.8112.7 update was problematic with error codes C1010007 and then C101002E.
I am left with a useless phone. I have done a factory reset to no avail.
The phone will boot into wp7.5 and sometimes holds for a few minutes before rebooting. Other times it gets into a loop while booting and ends up vibrating 7 times.
Any ideas anyone?
Is a fresh rom likely to help and if so which one?
I am currently showing:
OS 7.10.8107.79
Firmware 2250.21.51201.401
HW Rev 0004
SPL 5.12.2250.1
Thanks in advance
An Update
I have now dne a successful factory reset. Achieved this by leaving the battery out over night. I have been here before and am pretty sure that I will struggle to apply the above update.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Like many other Users of that fu**ed Phone !
Iv got 2 of that Mozarts, one with the reboot and second without.
Its a Hardware Problem. Both Phones have the same ROM , changing Batteries ,changing SDCard, no Matter

Update on Rebooting
Here is an update of my rebooting issue:
Following a factory reset (battery left out overnight) the phone is not longer rebooting PROVIDED THAT ID DO NOT CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK OR ATTEMPT TO APPLY AN UPDATE VAI ZUNE.
I am also able to get into the bootloader (spl5.12.2250.1) and establish a USB connection.
I do not want to mess with rolling back the bootloader as that seems to be a very high risk undertaking.
My suspicion is that a fresh rom installation may sort the problem as it only appeared after applying an update.
So can anyone suggest options for updating to a new reliable rom which will not consume excessive battery life - or at least point me in the right direction for one which is compatible with my current spl.
Thanks in advance.

Dear,
It seems that during update you phone might have low battery or update is interrupted.
You can install offical rom containing 201 search in file factory.
Otherwise go with the below, but you will need to downgrade your spl which is a lengthy process.
