[Q] [HELP]Xperia Mini Pro / SK17i Turning off when locked - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I just bought my new sk17i a few days ago, its 11W42 at the back, build number 4.0.2.A.0.58 running android 2.3.4. Unfortunately the phone is unusable as it keeps either turning itself off, or totally locking up (I'm not sure which). It won't re-awaken using either the on/off switch or the home button.
i already tried repairing using SEUS, i even downloaded LockBot Pro from the market coz i was thinking if the problem has sumthin to do with the lockscreen but still its turning off itself after 10sec when locked...zzz

The app u downloaded is for changing the type of lock screen ???
if the phone is new why not go to the source and get a replacement ??
have u tried disabling auto screen lock / sleep ?
and problem description is too vague to even start troubleshooting

yes the app i downloaded changes the type of lock screen, heres the link https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jackdoit.lockbot&hl=en
disable sleep is only available when phone is charging, and i cant seem to find disable lockscreen in settings.
the problem is when my phone goes to sleep mode, or when i lock my phone using the power button, due to unknown reason it doesnt unlock pressing the power button it remains black screen and after a few seconds the SE logo comes up, its like it reboots itself when put to sleep/locked.

maybe it's the app that makes ur phone like that ... try to uninstal the app to see if it work's ( note that not all aplication is work for ur phone ) ...

men it still turns offitself even after fresh repair using SEUS, did repair twice and Flash once, but its turning itself off when put to lock, the only time it does not turn off is when theres an app running when locked.
ok the last thing i can do is to get a replacement from where i bought it,

Uninstall any recently installed locking or system related app if you have installed
make sure that you don't have any antitheft software turned on,if you will try to use another sim then phone will get locked due to anti theft too
make sure batter is charged and properly placed
If you still face the problem of automatic restarting then remove memory card and then try to start the phone

hey. i got the same problem. have u solved the problem? i have flash my phone for 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 for several times. and the problem still happens. whats wrong with this phone

[Q] Lg p500 screen timeout does not work!

I tried to set the screen timeout to whatever interval is there, 15sec and up, none of my trials worked to get my screen to turn off and lock which is killing my battery at no time
only when i press the lock buttondoes it turn off.. but when i have the mobile in my pocket it usually press some button accidentally and that will keep the screen on :s
i searched the net to see if anybody else have had this problem but found nothing, and not even the applications on the market made this screen timeout work!! So i wonder if anyone have any idea about how such a problem could be fixed or what caused it?

when this happens to me, i just reboot my phone and screen timeout returns to work
you should replace your phone by claiming warranty for malfunction
It happns to me only when i use iphone lock or finger scanner and keep off the auto lock after booting.
just check it out or use simply lockscreen or goto.

OK, a quick test for you. Please follow these steps:
- go to Menu - Settings - Applications - Development
- check if "Stay awake" is enabled.
If it is, then that's why your phone behaves like that, because you requested it. Uncheck that option - problem solved and you should facepalm yourself for sending the phone in service over this trivial issue.
If not, then you indeed have a problem and you should demand some explanations at the service center.

actually it is already disabled by default and it is the cause of the problem. Maybe the board they replace is defective. I noticed that most of the people having the same problem as mine are those people who have new board. Ill bring this back tomorow. it sucks! i have to wait for another week!
mass storage doesnt work for me too. have to bring this back again tomorow.
same issue to me...
it just got back from service center with a brand new logic card.. and now it does not work screen time out neither usb functionalities =_=
done many test (different computers and s.o., several reboots... nothing worked)

i suggest u return it back immediately. I already return mine a while ago. it seems most of their replacement boards are defective. So its best to be very cautious in modding the phone if u wish not to have a defective board and save ur self the hassle of going back in forth at their center.
There is meant to be a remedy.
The replacement boards require a hard factory reset(see user manual for process) followed by a power down and battery removal then power up, once in users unit.
I am yet to test this out and will give an update next week.

[Q] Galaxy S2 display wake up in sleep mode

Hello!
My problem: I push the power button short on my Galaxy S2 to go sleep mode. The screen is goes black, the phone went sleep mode. I leave it on the table and I see the display is light up for 1-2 seconds and then off. This happening for 4-5 times then the sleeping continues for a long period.
What causes this problem? What can I do against it?
I've ben uninstalled almost all later installed programs, stay only stock apps +Titanium Backup, SPB Shell 3D, Dropbox, iGO, Adobe Reader, LogMeIn and Superuser (packaged in DoomLord's Easy rooting toolkit - that I've ben used to rooting my phone). Factory unlocked, rooted phone. All mobile data connection disabled - aviabled network connections are wifi and USB. I'm not using live wallpaper.
I think one of the apps try connectint to internet at this time, because when I turn on the wifi I get an application advise.
Android version: 2.3.4 Gingerbread
Build: GINGERBREAD.XWKI4
Any solution, suggestion?
(sorry my bad english)

Same problem here. Sometimes when i put the phone to sleep, after a short period of time the screen turns on, and stays so until i put it again to sleep or wait until the timer (i use 15 seconds here) to power the screen off. This happens with or without wifi/3g so i think that's not a problem with an app trying to access internet.
Other annoying issue is when i'm charging the phone, sometimes when it reaches 100%, the screen turns on to say that's full charged, and continues on like.... forever. I noticed that when i put the phone to charge before sleeping and mornings when i go take the phone off the charge, the screen is already on for a long time.
Im using Stock Frankestein ROM 2.3.6 XWKK5 with CF "stock" root Kernel, with out Set CPU or any other Governor. Also using stock launcher.

i have a similar issue , opened a thread here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405606
also added logcat , you can see the process thats trying to run multiple times , and wont stop until i press something .
this is very bad .if this happens at night , your phone might stay with screen on for hours , with the same image , the image will burn onto the screen eventually .
i'm running 2.3.6 KK5, siyah kernel , go launcher ,pattern lockscreen .
Thank you for hints guys!
I think I find it! I use SPB Shell 3D launcher. In the settings of this app checked the 'using mobile data network to download weather informations' (or something like). I unchecked it and this effect was gone - at least last evening... Now I using wifi and reinstalled all applications like before and now no ads.
But this means I think well - an application try to access internet (with GSM data connection) but the service provider denied, beause I've no subscribe.
So I advocate for you to search something settings like this in your apps.
i have that issue as well..i tried few different roms and kernels but no luck. so its hardware issue i think.. .
Used to happen to me a lot, until i installed Go launcher and Go locker.I know its not exactly a solution but at least its working, plus anything else than the stock samsung lock screen is soooo much better.
And the end... Uninstall all apps which are using ads whit AirPush technology. How do you know which are they? The AirPush Detector helps you find them - search on Google Play it's free!
Thanks for your attention!

plz help ????
It was probably only a display problem. Maybe it didn't show anything but the phone was working fine. It can happen sometimes.
Worry about it if this happens again. Probably it switched off dut to depleted battery.

maybe its just a normal minor and not harmful error . but you could open it again and its working fine i think its not an issue
reply
it was not battery discharge it just turned off and and when I re inserted the battery it started working normal !!!! I think it might be due to memory card or some sim problem but plZ experts help me out
Let me repeat that: I think it was not shut down. Simply, the screen stopped working. So you thought it was shut down. And of course trying to turn it on wouldn't work, since it was already turned on.
Removing the battery forced the phone to shut down, and the screen started working again after turning it on. This also happened to me once.

it was not that because on pressing the the lock key and home key the lights of touch buttons did not turn on plz hep !!!!!

Ok. Whatever. But then, what kind of help do you need? We all told you not to worry, unless it happens again.

i justvwant to know that has this thing happened to someone else ??? and what exactly could be tthe problem ???
This sometimes happened to me when I switched to a custom kernel (KrSH) and overclocked it to 1.2GHz. Noticed it happening after opening a few different apps or while receiving a call, but I can't duplicate it myself using controlled actions.
Might be helpful telling us what you were doing on the phone when the abrupt reboot happened.

L9 doesn't turn on from stanby or freezes at unlock screen

My LG L9 phone wouldn't turn on this morning so I had to remove the battery and insert it again and it worked. However, whenever my phone goes to standby, it will either not respond to any buttons or lock up at the unlock screen. I didn't install any new app and I never had a problem with my phone before... it had rooted 4.0.4 android.
What could be wrong?

Update: I think this is called "sleep of death". The phone can't get out of the deep sleep state and I have to remove the battery once it freezes. The above symptoms don't happen when the phone is plugged in.
I temporarily fixed it by using an app named "Wake My Android Pro". It basically wakes up my phone every 29 seconds.
I wonder if there's a permanent fix other than resetting my phone?
have you remove some google app or lg app ?
It happend to me twice. It freezes or cant be turned on. Anyway I also have problem with "not showing"kleyboard very often when i need to type some text. The keyboard doesnt show up or just for a half of second. Overall the phones is running with lags for like 50% of the time I'm using it.

Samsung note 8 sm-n950f duos reboot, freeze while in lock state or always on display

After some minor bug I have decided to master reset my phone after wiping all data and stuff the phone was running cool but since yesterday when I lock the screen 1-2min after the phone freeze and restart after. When I am using it no problem whether is plugged to charge or not.
It’s only reboot or freeze when you lock the screen or stop using the phone
I need help

Are you Running a Custom ROM?
If yes you should go into your ROM's thread .
If you are running stock Android , the problem comes from the OEM , you should search for this issue on internet to find someone else who faced this bug and try to know if there's a fix.
On my side , I can't do much because I don't own your device and I never heard about this before
I hope you'll find the answer on the internet
