Mause for EEE TF101 - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

Hello,
Just want to share my experience using mouse with TF101
I bought Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TG4BA0/ref=pe_175190_21431760_cs_sce_dp_1
EEE connected to it right a way,
Left Button - Selection
Right Button - Back Button
Scroll - On Page as Scroll, On Desktop - Scrolls Desktops
Also there is a button for your thumb responding as Menu
Let me know if you have questions.

The other day I was working on my desktop with my TF101 and my Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo was lying around. Just for curiosity, I connected the usb receiver to the TF and test the mouse. It seem to work perfect! I don't remember if I tried the keyboard but probably it works too.

Lol i thought of a completely different thing with a mause

Mouse/KB works very well. My naga's extra 12 buttons even works as the numpad on a keyboard (just like it does on a PC).
And with the latest splashtop update rightclicking is so much more pleasant when remote controlling a PC
Controlling android with a mouse feels a bit awkward though. You can tell it really isnt designed for it. But its awesome for remote pc sessions.

[Q] Bluetooth mouse

We know that the asus transformer has mouse support with the trackpad. I would prefer to have a full mouse when I I set this up to do typing and office type work.
Can any of you who already have the tablet see if it works with a bluetooth mouse?
I will test this when I get home this evening. I meant to test it last night and in the excitement of getting the transformer, I forgot.

Wow didn't even know this was supported so well. Pairing up brings up a mouse pointer until the connection is lost.
LMB obviously simulates touch.
RMB is the back hotkey
MB3 is the menu hotkey (top right icon)
Scroll up-down traverses open menus. LMB to select. Will scroll in the browser and system wide such as in polaris office.
Full movement as expected from desktop OSs.

That is great news. I want to be able to plug my tablet into my hdmi next to my tv to watch videos and sit back on my couch and navigate. That is awesome, thanks for testing it out!
What about zooming in and out? How do you do that if you can't do multi-touch pinch gesture? Perhaps some sort of combination of button press + scroll wheel?

You still get double click to zoom. Other that that you can't be more precise from just the mouse and I don't have a dock or bt keyboard to try.
Only time I see myself using a mouse is when plugged into hdmi and I feel double tap to zoom and reflow is sufficient.
I wish RMB emulated a long press. I feel that is more natural for a right click. Hopefully this can be altered once HC goes open source.
Pairs with Apple bluetooth mouse and links to input device, but nothing happens. Certainly don't get the pointer that could be seen on the screenshot in the earlier thread.

Hi mate,
I'm having trouble pairing my BF mouse with the transformer. I can see it, but when I try to pair them, the transformer asks for pin and basically that's it... nothing after that.
How did you pair yours?

Just entered the default pin 0000. Check the mouse label if it has a specific pin.
FYI mine is a logitech travel mouse

Yeay, 0000.
It wasn't on the mouse, but I found it in the online manual.
Cheers,

Not one of my Apple peripherals connect and work (magic mouse, magic trackpad or keyboard). My Logitech M555b mouse works correctly though.
Makes me wonder if Honeycomb is deliberately blocking Apple devices from working.

That is highly unlikely. When you go into system/usr/keylayout on the XOOM they even have a dedicated layout file for the Apple wireless keyboard. They would be stupid to fuel the flaming between iSheep and Androids! However, I wouldn't be surprised if the Apple mouse requires special drivers, especially if it is the magic mouse which is not your conventional HID. Or maybe Asus has a beef with Apple, but not HC.

I haven't done any digging into the system files yet on the Transformer, so I can't comment on that.
I find it strange though that they all pair, connect but then fail to actually interface correctly. The mouse cursor does not appear on screen, even though the settings panel recognises them as a mouse and trackpad, and the keyboard just doesn't function - the only time it works is when you have to type in the pairing PIN.
Strange.. Might well be an Asus -> Apple issue/incompatibility or something with the bluetooth chip. Perhaps we'll see a future software fix or hack.
Has anyone had an issue with paired mouse not reconnecting Mine paired the 1st time but has not connected since then.
Mine..

The first connection, more than 5 minutes will be automatically disconnected. Need to connect again.
I use a Bluetooth 3.0 Mouse...
Is this the reason?
I tried plugging in the USB transmitter of the Microsoft BlueTrack Mini Explorer and it works, but response is slow.

I am having this issue also. My mouse works fine on my laptop. I think it has to do with the TF going to sleep. I only notice it just before or just after my TF goes to sleep.

Mee too, Works fine on laptop but not Tablet.
This is definately an issue with the TF screen ging to sleep. While I would like it to automatically reconnect. A temporary solution when using the mouse with the dock is to set the screen to stay on when charging.
EDIT: I just installed 3.1 last night and from my experieces today it looks like 3.1 automatically reconnects with the bluetooth mouse after a disconnect.

Bluetooth Mouse & Keyboard Reccommendations?

Im looking to get a portable mouse and keyboard for my Galaxy Tab 7.7 to carry around with me as travelling companions. Keyboard needs to be compact and portable but with good feedback and all the right buttons. Any particular recommendations?
Hi,
I'd be interested in anyone's experiences with this as well. Anyone?
Note: my tab is not rooted or modded in anyway.
Here are the bluetooth devices i tried.
(Mouse)
Logitech v470 bluetooth mouse for netbooks
Apple Magic mouse
(Keyboard)
Apple Wireless Keyboard
Here are the results:
Apple Magic mouse - Does not work at all. (it does pair, and display as a input device.. but no cursor or response will work)
v470 bluetooth mouse - Works very well, shows up as Bluetooth Laser Travel Mouse.
Apple Wireless keyboard - Type on the stock browser lag, and it cause my attached v470 to lag as well! .. right now i do not know it is a keyboard issue or the bluetooth on the tab that cause this.
So i guess i might go get a logitech bluetooth keyboard for tablet to try it out
Thanks electro.
To add and answer my own question.
I am typing this on a Microsoft "Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 7000", which includes a touchpad. Both elements work a treat.
Is there a way to get a bluetooth keyboard/mouse to connect to the Tab without using the dongle? I~ ask because the tab would be a great replacement for my media PC under the TV if only I could attache the HDMI and get bluetooth to work with HIDs at the same time... As it is HDMI requires a pass-through in the power lead so there is no way to attach the bluetooth dongle. It is more than a little annoying that my £100 cheapo tab has seperate USB and HDMI connection and can do just this!

Aha! Found a way to do it! Just connect your bluetooth HID devices without using the dongle... It's obvious really when you think about it.
Anyway, I managed to do this with the above keyboard/mouse using an app on the Market which allows you to do just that - Bluetooth Keyboard Easyconnect. You tab needs to be rooted and the instructions are not necessarily clear. If you do try it, to connect you need to go back to the standard bluetooth interface, make you HID discoverable (push the button?) and then scan for bluetooth devices. Once it is found and you pair you then need to go back to the app and select the HID in there as well.
So now I have a nice extremely small media pc (but not) under the TV. Films, music, internet, work all there and controlled from my sofa.

They have newer versions of what I have, (RT-MWK02), but mine works really well. Very easy to pair up. Compact and light.
Typing does take a little bit getting use to but once you do, it works out great.
Haven't have any issues. Touch pad is real nice.
I've picked it up on Amazon.

Can't use Bluetooth keyboard and mouse at same time

I have the Logitech keyboard and mouse for Android tablets, and they WILL NOT play nice together. If I use the mouse, I can't use the keyboard as neither will stay connected, knocking the other out of the connection. I am using rooted, but stock HC 3.2.1 ROM, and this is VERY annoying as I wanted to use it as a laptop replacement and using touchscreen with keyboard is a pain.
When using both, if I move mouse while typing, the keys will stuck and you get words like thiiiiiiiiiiiiiis.
I am able to simultaneously use a Dell Axim bluetooth keyboard and a Dell branded bluetooth mouse with my Stock Honeycomb HTC Flyer. Works like a charm.

I also have the Motorola keyboard + mouse set, and I can report that I can't use the mouse at all. It pairs but never connects.
However, I did try to pair with another mouse and I got the same result as you. Separately, each device worked properly. Together, the mouse knocked the keyboard constantly. I ended up giving up on the mouse, the keyboard is more important
I did send a message to HTC about this problem, and they said the Flyer is probably not compatible with certain devices or certain combos of devices. Standard BS response.

I have this problem, and I have had it before. I am trying to have a desktop replacement via my tablet connecting to desktop as needed. I really need to use a mouse and keyboard, preferably without cumbersom cables. I have an original xoom, this happened on the old ROM and now the JB rom I loaded. If I try to use my bluetooth mouse almost every word eeeeeeeeeeeendsssssssss upppppppppp liiiiiiiiiiiikkee tttttthhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiis. And forget trying to use backspace to correct any mistake, as the backspace key sticks and usually deletes EVERYTHING you typed before you can backup over the 5-10 extra letter repeats you used.
I am surprised this isn't addressed somewhere, I have had this so many times on this and my other tablets. I have even tried various bluetooth keyboard and mice. Even worse, the new microsoft sculpt mouse detects as a keyboard and a mouse, and the "use physical keyboard" button doesn't work (if you click off, it just stays on and shows on, no matter what I do. So if I even attempt to use this new mouse, I can't even get the on-screen keyboard to work.
Right now I have to either use the mouse (and turn the mouse off to type on screen), or turn the mouse off and keyboard on while I type something up. I'm almost in tears as I am partially disabled, and all my attempts to ease myself back into using a computer, I run into new issues.
In short, I can't buy anything new, I really need to use this Xoom for now. I can't use a USB device well, it is too cumbersom, I can't dock it and use the USB, I need to stick with bluetooth. I have a Microsoft Mobile Bluetooth keyboard 6000 and a Microsoft Sculpt Keyboard.
I have tried an app called keyboard helper pro, but it doesn't work at all.
I can use a different ROM, but I would really prefer a newer one as the extra keys and mouse features seem to pass through (such as using the right mouse button, instead of having to hold the left button down, when connected to my desktop.)
Any pointers? I heard something about the bluetooth stack being changed. I haven't found out what/why/how the windows key and right mouse button work (they didn't in older android versions).

You posted in the forum section for the HTC Flyer. Find the forum section for the Xoom, and you might get better help.

Nexus player and OTG trackpads

I'm trying to hook up a keyboard and touchpad to my Nexus player and am having limited success. The keyboards always work fine, but the touchpads I have tried don't scroll right and are unusable. The two I have tried are a Gosin bluetooth model and also a Logitech K400r connected via USB OTG cable. The mouse pointer shows up but when scrolling up and down (two finger scroll) the screen just jerks up and down briefly. Is there a setting or other program I need to install to use a touchpad?
[edit]
The more I think about it this might just be the nature of the interface on the device, it's really not meant the traditional way we used desktops and scroll isn't meant to work in this type of interface.

Tab S4 and DeX

Hi all,
I'm looking into buying a Tab S4, particularly because of its DeX function.
Can anyone confirm whether the Tab S4 works with the DeX pad, or just the USB-C to HDMI cable?
I'm wondering whether it would be possible to use it with the pad to connect a wireless mouse and keyboard receiver, rather than having to rely on Bluetooth direct to the tablet.
Thanks,
J
It i's working even without an external screen.
For DEX I use most of the time the screen miroring through wifi, easy.
Yes, there is an option to put it into dex mode without any external attachments. It only works in landscape mode though. I wish it worked in portrait mode too. I love dex and would use it exclusively.
It works flawlessly...
From what I've read it works with the DeX pad but you may encounter the error "Close cover to enable DeX Mode". If you don't have a Samsung cover the easiest way out is to go to Amazon and purchase a 7-1 or 8-1 hub. A search here should return you some links.
Just as a note, most HDMI to usb c adaptors include usb ports, and Logitech universal receivers work off them. I've used a Logitec K750 Keyboard + Anywhere MX mouse (synced to the same universal receiver). The caveat is that the logitech unifying software is not available on Android. You need to link the receiver, mouse and keyboard on a pc, and then they work on the tablet. If you want to change linked devices, you need to go back to the pc. I did notice one of the mice I tried was overly sensative, so some mice may work better than others.
Has anyone tried using Microsoft Remote Desktop Client app on this tablet? I want to know if the right click button works. Please tell me that it does I'll be really really happy. I really want to buy this tablet but I can't justify the cost unless I can use it for work instead of buying a laptop.
This really should be a new topic / new thread but...
Yes, I use MS Remote Desktop to access my work computer from home. Usually, I use the onscreen keyboard and touchscreen, which can be awkward.
But I just hooked up my USB keyboard and Bluetooth mouse, and both work fine with Remote Desktop. Right click works.
One disclaimer - I usually use MS Remote Desktop Beta, which is currently crashing every time I try to run it. I installed the released version of MS Remote Desktop and had no issues. So you might want to stay away from the RD Beta version.
