[Q] UK Power Adapter? - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

Just a quick question. I have a TF101 that's from America, and as a result, comes with a US power adapter. I'm in the UK, and while I have a mains converter, it's a tad inconvenient.
I was looking around and it seems ASUS do a power adapter pack but it's £25 and includes loads of adapters I won't actually need.
Just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that sells a UK transformer power adapter thing that can clip into the included adapter like the included one does? Ideally cheaper and just the one.
Thanks!

Got mine from Australia and want to know the same thing...
Sent from my Transformer TF101

make that 3 of us.....I got mine in the US too and have been scouring the net for a uk clip for the charger for 6 months

look at: AsusParts.eu

thanks for the link...the UK attachment for the charger is reasonably priced at £14 but its another £17.55 to ship it to the UK meaning its cheaper to get it from hongkong via ebay.
I wish Asus would sort this mess out.....these plugs should be a few quid and readily available.

Got a cradle!

I got my K-Jam cradle today. It's the same one that Boxwave are selling. Mine came from gpsforless.co.uk and arrived two days after ordering.
It's a little to upright for my liking and has got a largish footprint but otherwise it's fine. No psu included but I think it will work with a powere
usb hub.
Is it this one? http://www.gpsforless.co.uk/product_details.php?id=2796

Can you design it with a spare battery charging slot?
I'll pay a premium for that.
It's hard to believe that no after market designer has released one for the wizard yet. You can pretty much find spare battery charging cradles for any other model.
§tatic
No, I can't %)
It's one thing to design a basic shape of the older, the placement of a mini USB plugin slot, add a little 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female jack - it's another entirely to add a charging circuit - I wouldn't even know where to begin with that :>
I do agree that I wish somebody would come out with one - but I'm not sure it'll happen. Typically the market for these kinds of accessories is saturated within 2 months of delivery of the device - after that, the accessories need to be in a state of 'mass production', and the designers need to get in gear for design of accessories for the next generation of devices.
I saw the expansys homepage have both normal craddles like that from gpsforless and also "liedown" cradleswhere you can use keyboard while charging. However, havent seen any craddle with faster charging (extra power).
Cradle for charging spare battery
Hi
Anyone found a 'Wizzard' Cradle for charging spare battery yet?, then please link to store
I'd recommened against getting the cradle from GPSforless. I had to return mine because windows saw my Wizard as an unrecognized USB device. They gave me a full refund, but just a note incase you're thinking of getting one.
Try this one.

Speaking of cradles...
Anyone check out the music dock yet?
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/9070.htm
I'm looking to order one but I need some reviews. They don't sell them in the states as you see it's got British pound prices all over it. The manufacturer: Brando is in Hong Kong, and their site looks rather sketchy...

Someone give me a heads up.
I bought the one from Brando a month ago, its really good.
I had no problem ordering from Sweden, delivery was maybe a week after order.
I can reccomend it.

I brought this a few weeks ago. I cant recommend it. Sound quality is awful. It buzes when recharging & there is only an option of USB or main recharging - I was rather hoping to keep it pugged into mains and PC so it would stay charged when PC is off.

Hi all anyone found the cradle with spare battery charger yet?
I really would like one.

North American power connector

If you bought an HK 6810 from negri like I did, you likely received a converter for the 220 power connector.
I decided to buy one meant for north america and got this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004VG7C5U
works well and doubles as a secondary usb cable

Good find and great price.Thanks!
I just ordered a couple of them at that price as I like to use oem 30 pin cables.
If you want the cord for the one they ship with instead of the 220 connector then one of these work....... http://www.amazon.com/1-5M-2-Slot-S...AON4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327086550&sr=8-1

In case folks missed it, but this one is cheaper and the same model:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Detachable-Charger-ETA-P10JBEGSTA/dp/B004CGHDEO/ref=pd_cp_pc_2
I bought one of these for my original Galaxy Tab:

It's cheaper with a longer cable and works well. Cable is not detachable.
I am currently using following one, mini charger, really small.

Does it charge as fast as the stock charger the tab came with?
I have another USB charger that takes 2x to 3x longer than stock. Thanks

charge timing a bit longer than original one,I dont mind.I recommended because it smart good design product ,security ,no heating while charging. charge to android phones ,iphone4 as well except ipad2.
Well I ordered this from ebay. Thanks for the tip, man! I charged my Tab from the 0% last night and it took over FIVE HOURS to reach 100% with the stock charger at 240v in Dubai. That is crazy.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anybody know if you can just get the detachable tip for the US, if so where can one get it?
I ordered my tab from Negri as well and received the HK tip detached. It would be great to just get the correct part for the US rather than buying a whole new charger?
I am currently using my original SGT 7.0 charger with it, charged fully in ~4 hours.

Does the tip from your original charger interchange with the new one? If so, your best bet is buying a used one off ebay since I can't find just those tips for sale anywhere.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I know they should be interchangeable. Considering that the power supply is generic in terms voltage, just the tip out differs for what region of the world it is used.
I searched high and low for the US connector to no avail - I'm sure it's out there somewhere. Thanks again.

Found a cheap oem charger here. Don't know the company though, so order at your own risk.
Wow...that is cheap. Thanks. I pulled the triggered and ordered one from Amazon.
In my search last night I found the part for the US detachable tip.
Manufacture Well Shin, part number: WS-069-N.
A Tawainese based company that I guess supplies international connectors for power supplies. Apparently you can't just order one from them directly.
This same topic was also discussed in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 forum, with similar results - users having to buy a whole new charger, which is silly.
Anyways, thanks. Good to know that there's a cheaper option out there.

[Q] TP USB Cable for Development Work

I'd like to get an additional USB cable for connecting my Transformer Prime to my PC because I need it for debugging my apps, and I'm getting tired of swapping it back and forth to connect it to the charger brick.
Are these cables commercially available anywhere? Is it the same cable that was used on the original Transformer (which I know nothing about)?
Ebay + Prime USB Cable = Simples
Amazon has it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006N3L5SE/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details
I think the product code as SUBAD003600 and they are about $15-20 plus delivery
On eBay UK they are about $11 (ref #280794053901) and eBay USA about $12 (ref #320851673796), both from China, including delivery.

[Q] Charger mixup (UK -> Danish adapter needed)

Hello
I ordered my Prime from the UK (I live in Denmark) as it's cheaper there, and I was able to get it straight away, while I'd have to wait till mid-end April to get it in Denmark.
But I have 1 issue now, the charger is made for UK sockets.
I've tried finding adapters, but I can't find one to converter UK -> Danish anywhere, only the other way around (Which I can't use).
I've tried going to basically all the local electronic stores, and none of them have a universal charger that outputs 15V/1.2A which the Prime needs.
All they have are laptop chargers (which are a bit higher volts and far higher amps), and phone chargers (which are much lower, normally 5V)
I've found this on the official ASUS website:
http://www.asus.com/Peripherals_Accessories/Eee_Pad_Accessories/Eee_Pad_10W18W_Adapter/
But I can't find any info on buying/acquiring them.
Could anyone help me out here?
I'm sitting with my Prime next to me, without any possible way to charge it.
This is worse than torture

If I read your post right then what you need is a plug converter that can enable a UK plug to be plugged into a Danish socket.
I have no idea what sort of plugs you use in Denmark (did not look to closely at teh plugs when forbrydleson was on but will look tonight as we now have those who kill !! lol)
If you can post a link of what a danish plug looks like and are willing to paypal the cost of a UK to danish converter which we should be able to get pretty easily here I am more than willing to get one and send it to you by airmail
Would something like this be suitable?
You do not need to worry about voltages as the Asus power box automatically adjusts to the voltage of the supply and the only differences are the actual plug pins which are on a plate and connect on to the transformer.
If this is helpful message me though you can buy direct of amazon UK as they deliver to denmark, but I would try and make sure that you order one direct from Amazon rather than from their marketplace.
Though I am sure that there must be Danish online sellers that will be able to supply what you need. or amazon DE
The prime will charge via teh usb cable supplied with it, albeit very slowly and it will not register as charging (it might be better on a usb3 port if you have one)
On further checking I think this one would suit you perfectly.

Both of the ones you linked seems fine to me (any difference between them? I can't find any, but you never know )
I've tried finding them on Danish online webshops, but couldn't seem to find any UK -> Danish plug converter, only the other way around :/
Perhaps I didn't use the correct search words or something.. Hmm. I'll try looking into it some more and spend some time searching for it
When you say that the Prime will charge through USB, do you mean from the computer to the prime, or from another USB charger (using the USB charger that came with the Prime) ?
I've got a HTC USB charger (from my Evo 3D) that is 5V/1A, would that also charge the Prime (as you said, though without showing that it is charging, and doing it slowly?)
whan I was talking about charging from usb I was meaning from pc but it will be very slow.
If I was you I would order an adapter for the short term so I could get teh TFP up and running.
I found this http://www.amazon.de/STECKER-REISEA...2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1333103058&sr=1-2-catcorr amazon de which should work.
The second link I posted in my reply to you is dispatched by amazon which is why I thought that it might arrive a bit quicker!!
You could then contact asus support and see if they can provide a european faceplate for the charger that you already have or buy a complete unit from asus de here which will have a uk front plate as well if you ever visit us in blighty.
Hope this helps
Andy
FYI, international airports are often a good place to pick up the kind of travel adaptor you need. I know that in both London Heathrow & Gatwick airports, you can up adaptors to convert US/EU plugs to UK in the shops and vending machines around the airport.
YMMV of course!
Regards,
Dave
Thanks for the help, I finally managed to find one on a Danish webshop, and ordered it Should be here within a day or two
And then I can start playing with my Prime
@ slef2003
I tried leaving my Prime plugged into my computer for 12 hours straight (with the PC running, tablet turned off) while I was at work, to see if I could charge it up a bit. And when I came back, it hadn't charged a single percentage.
Does the Prime have to be turned on meanwhile for it to charge?
Because if so, it kind of destroys the entire idea, because if it charges so slowly, it'll drain more battery than it charges while in standby?

Dealextreme Asus transformer chargers

I recently saw that Dealextreme is stocking two wall chargers for the Asus Transformer series of tablets
One with the proprietary connector built in
http://dx.com/p/ac-power-adapter-ch...101-tf201-sl101-black-2-round-pin-plug-137392
and one with a 15v USB port
http://dx.com/p/ac-power-adapter-ch...mer-tf101-tf201-black-2-round-pin-plug-126492
has anyone tried them? I think I'll order the one with the proprietary connector, and so if it fails, I'll still have the connector to tinker. Also, if it works, I'll get to keep the cable at home, protected, instead of in my messenger bag.
I have tried the one with the 15v USB port - and it works just fine.
The best value for money (as always from DX).
i could buy those charger on ebay.. but what is the review about those chargers
I use second and i dont have any problems.:good:
Bought the one with the proprietary connector built in from them - works just fine.
I bought one from ebay here. It works great and you don't have to worry about that stupid asus brick crapping out on you.
Anyway, it's good to have one functioning properly with charger connected.

USA version of the non USB one can also be found for that seller (Flat pin plugs). Search tf101 charger. I'd give you the link but I dont have rights yet.
