adb reboot bootloader
this should put the device in fastboot mode.

Well you can't boot into the bootloader from adb. I tried the adb reboot bootloader and all it did was reboot the tablet. no bootloader nothing. And holding down both volume buttons and restarting doesn't do it either (like it does for other devices)

we have APX mode, which is the only bootloader mode we can access. unfortunately, NVFLASH hasn't been updated for Tegra 3 devices.. so we cannot use it

Found the mode to do a factory reset outside of the Honeycomb OS.
1- Shutdown the tablet
2- Hold the vol down while you hit the power button
3- Release both buttons and don't hit anything and it should take you to a screen with a flashing cursor on either the Android bot or the icon that says Wipe data.
4- Use the vol down to change between the 2 modes. Use the vol up to confirm your choice.
DO NOT CONFIRM TO WIPE YOUR DATA! I'm not responsible if you do. If you think that you just might have the bad luck and choice the wipe data by accident, don't even bother to go here.

good find. there is more to that mode.. im investigating as we speak

There is a "recovery Kernel Image" Gives almost an exact look like the Samsung Recovery look
Hold Vol - and Power until screen shows...let go...Pres volume + within 5 seconds
--
It uses ADB PIDs, trying to force install drivers..
--
got it, NO elevated ADB response

I hope this is good news!

the recovery i found is meant for CWM if a dev decides to create CWM for the TP. As for now, i don't know... it looks for something then goes to a warning (!) screen. im wondering if its connecting to /sdcard/ and looking for a file for recovery or what.. hmmm
--thread apparently got moved. nice.
our only hope looks like NVFLASH for now.. but we need to find out the SBK for our device first and have it incorporated into NVFLASH so we can use it..the Android.Mobi are gonna have to do that :/

The first thing you need to do is enable NVFlash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774352
Once you do that you can continue tinkering with the device
The screen you linked to is the bootloader screen not the recovery screen. to enter the recovery you have to press vol down, on the RCK icon. If you loaded the recovery successfully it should load, if not you need to try to install it again because something did not work correctly.
Word of caution recoveries do not work yet with JellyBean so if you load a JB rom, do not try to load a recovery, this is what almost bricked my device, but thanks to NVFlash i was saved.
Good Luck and Happy Modding!

I think he already has nvflash or he wouldn't have the rck icon.
to enter recovery he uses volume up on the icon not volume down. volume down selects it.
recoveries work fine as long as you are restoring a jb rom and using twrp.

I don't have NVFlash, stock device a week old and I have the RCK icon when I hold Vol Down and power on.
I never used NVFlash.
I have the recovery icon but when I select it (as on the picture), there is a text saying "Booting recovery kernel image" and then nothing else happends.
Since i could not turn off the device, i let it run out of battery yesterday. So i recharged it, and now I can't access fastboot anymore, when I do power + vol down I end up on the asus boot logo...

If you had held the power off button for 10 seconds the device should have restarted.

The problem is that I could not turn it off, so it normaly went out of battery.
Today I wanted to try NVFlash so I recharged my prime, and when I wanted to boot it and put it in fastboot mode I couldnt get to the selection screen (with RKV, Android, Fastboot, Wipe). It just boots on the asus boot logo.

[HELP PLZ] Re-flash stock Recovery!!!

Recently, I was foolish enough to play around with the tool WSG UnBricker v1.0.3, and I went to flash the recovery (option to flash own image), I then drap the one that's bundled with the tool to flash it, after that I couldn't enter the stock recovery to see the familiar dead Andy, nor can I factory reset the device any more.
When trying to factory reset it, I kept getting the error (in red) that says "Unrecoverable bootloader error 0x00000000", then the device just hangs there.
My TF201 is still locked, not rooted, it is on Jelly Bean and other functions are still OK. I can still boot it and use it normally, just can't factory reset it and get the "Unrecoverable bootloader error 0x00000000" error.
So, please, If anyone has any idea to deal with this, please help me!!! I've been looking all around but to no available. How foolish of me to have done it!!!
What exactly did you try to do with the WSG tool??
Anyway, you could try one of these methods to do a complete restore...
Download the stock ROM (http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_Prime_TF201/#download)... it has a zip within a zip... extract the first zip and you should have a file with a name like US_epad-user-10.4.2.15.zip (or WW or TW depending on which zip you downloaded)
1. Flash via recovery
- Copy the update zip (e.g. US_epad-user-10.4.2.15.zip) to your sdcard
- Open adb shell and enter the following command
Code:
echo '--update_package=/sdcard/US_epad-user-10.4.2.15.zip' >> /cache/recovery/command
- Reboot and enter recovery mode [Power + Vol Down, then select RCK and press Vol Up]
- You should see the recovery screen (green Android with progress bar)
- It should reboot & then you see the blue progress bar on the Asus splash screen
- Let it finish and boot up.
- Now start it up using the Power + Vol Down key, then use the Vol Down key to highlight Wipe Data and pre the Vol Up key. This may take a few minutes.
2. Flash via fastboot
- Extract the blob from the update zip (e.g. US_epad-user-10.4.2.15.zip) on your computer
- Start the device in fastboot mode [Power + Vol Down, then select the USB symbol and press Vol Up]
- Run the follow command in a terminal window
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash staging blob
- You should see the fastboot command transfering the files. Once that is done, reboot
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 reboot
- It should reboot & then you see the blue progress bar on the Asus splash screen
- Let it finish and boot up.
- Now start it up using the Power + Vol Down key, then use the Vol Down key to highlight Wipe Data and pre the Vol Up key. This may take a few minutes.

Thanks a lot, craigacgomez!!! I had to try to use the 2nd option you gave me (flash via fastboot), as my Recovery was probably screwed; as I said before, I couldn't get into Recovery (stock recovery I think, because it's still not unlocked, not rooted), just says "Unrecoverable bootloader error 0x00000000". However, even with the 2nd option, when I try the reboot command, the device just stays there, and the writing process before it only took about 3s as the picture I attached herewith. I tried to manually reboot it after "fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash staging blob", but the device still booted as If nothing was done using the command.
I think the jellybean stock recovery is screwed, only by successfully re-flashing it, can I do the factory reset. Now, it can boot and be used normally but not factory reset. The reason I tried to play with the tool was because I am one of the very "luck" users that have to live with the infamous "Serial unknown" feature!!! For one second of misthought and alcohol, I somehow screwed it like this.
So, what can I do now to re-flash the stock recovery, please tell me! Thanks a lot again man.
I just tried to cold boot the device using the Volume down+Power and let it pass the 10s. After that, the screen says it's cold booting linux or something, then a signature match, but it hangs there. I pressed and held Power until It reboots, but this time It won't even get passed the Asus splash screen. I just officially get an expensive "temporary" paperweight!!! Someone, please help!!!!!!!
Please, anyone???
Same original problem as OP. Not sure about the bricking problem...
I also receive that error when attempting to boot from recovery. However, I can still boot normal and seems I can wipe data. Also, I can start fastboot...but it seems to only be responsive to one command before it becomes unresponsive. Adb doesn't seem to be seeing the device anymore. And I can boot into APX.
This doesn't really help the OP if bricked, but providing these details, because I am still trying to find a solution to the same original problem.
Maybe it's time for me to use Asus's warranty service?
found the solution to this problem?
found the solution to this problem? I am presenting the same problem! someone please help me
same here... I have 10.6.1.8 bootloader currently, courtesy the previous owner and I can't seem to flash anything. After sending a command to the device, it becomes unresponsive and just freezes.
Now, as it is possible to send a file over to the device, does it stay there? It looks like there is only one command that can be executed and that is sending. Maybe if the file was there, the one command would be flashing the file? Just grasping at straws
I have a similar problem.
Can access fastboot, but the unrecoverable error appears every time i enter recovery or wipe mode.
Also fastboot freezes after i flash something.
My opinion: Hard brick. You need to replace the motherboard.
I am almost ready to accept it... However, as the bootloader is from TF300, would it be possible to use those drivers to communicate with the device? I'm at work right now so can't test, but it seems like a remote possibility
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
similar here
I also have the bootloader error 0x00000000,
bought the prime second hand and thought I would unlock and try some new ROM, I have done successful root flash etc on my old HTC desire to get it running JB ROMs so thought would give it a go on PRIME, big mistake!! rushed into it like an absolute moron and now have a lovely paperweight!
Everything I have read suggests this is unfixable but I found the tool WSG unbrick and thought hey hey here we go!! but no dice.
The erasing tools seem to do everything but when I tried to install the full unbrick option (write partitions) it just goes straight to the reboot menu with a message that "this menu is only for when the device is in bootloader mode" same for any other install option!
Every time I try to flash something in fastboot it seems like it disconnects or fastboot stops working,
I am pretty much ready to give up and admit defeat, phone call to ASUS!!!
example of what happens in fastboot:-
C:\Android-adb>fastboot devices
???????????? fastboot
C:\Android-adb>fastboot devices
015d078754040a06 fastboot
C:\Android-adb>fastboot flash recovery TWRP.blob
sending 'recovery' (7726 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.795s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 1.410s]
finished. total time: 4.207s
C:\Android-adb>fastboot devices
???????????? fastboot
have to physically reboot the prime
C:\Android-adb>fastboot devices

Unable to enter into bootloader mode

I own many nexus devices, a heavy terminal user and I know about things like adb, fastboot etc.
This device Huawei mediapad 7 lite is driving me mad, I wanted to install CM 10.1 on it but I am unable to enter into fastboot mode. I have searched enough and tried all the methods like "adb reboot bootloader" and "volume up + power", but no luck at all.
Is there anything that I am missing? I am able to use 'adb' but rebooting into bootloader just power offs the device and sometimes just displays the battery charging icon on screen.
If I try "adb reboot recovery", it enters into recovery mode but within 2 seconds reboots. I somehow need to get into bootloader mode(fastboot mode) so that I can flash recovery and custom rom.
Your help is highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I am having similar problem for different reasons. I am in a reboot loop and if I try power+volume up I get this: Enter into fastboot mode. You can press POWER key for more than 10 seconds to reboot device.
Power for 10 seconds will reboot and go back to reboot loop, but anything else I try to push does not get me anywhere. In this state the tablet will not show through USB on the computer. I was trying to google how to enter bootloader, but I am not able to find any info plus screenshots. So if you find a solution, I would VERY happy.
I would keep you informed if I find something myself. Here is my post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37646468#post37646468

Then you see on your tablet: Enter into fastboot mode. You can press POWER key for more than 10 seconds to reboot device. - then it means that you are already in fastboot mode. Holding power for 10 s needed to exit from fastboot (to reboot).

Thanks for the reply. Sorry if I sound like a novice, but what can I fo in fastboot mode? The computer does not recognize the device in this fastboot, so I can do anything from computer, and the tablet does not respond to anything pressed while in this mode.So how do I install recovery or do anything sensible? Sorry if I missed something obvious, it is my first Mediapad.

All operations with fastboot should be performed via terminal.
Hello after_silence, any help for me? When I do "adb reboot bootloader", it shuts down and NOTHING comes up on screen. If usb cable is connected, it shows the battery charging symbol. When I do "sudo fastboot devices", nothing comes up. That means I am not entering into fastboot mode. Any other workaround?
Thanks!

Sorry for the simple posting, but the above thread fixed the problem.
The original failure was caused by missing the factory reset after flashing, before unzipping.
Wow , XDA saved the tab for xmas, although the 2 steps flash cust and flash tombstones didn´t
work, it rebooted to an older version just fine!
Then restored backup, I´ll try again after xmas.

[Q] Neutab N7 tablet bootloader/fastboot?

I have a fairly generic Chinese tablet, a Neutab N7 (not a Nexus 7), but I have no idea how to enter the bootloader/fastboot mode.
Using adb, "adb reboot bootloader" or "adb reboot-bootloader" just makes it reboot normally.
From a shell, doing "su reboot bootloader" also reboots normally.
I tried Quick Boot from Google Play which has an option to reboot into the bootloader, but it also just ends up rebooting normally.
While powered off, I tried holding power and volume up, power and volume down, and power and both volume up and down, but they all just boot normally.
Doing "adb reboot recovery" does boot me into recovery mode, but the menu doesn't have a bootloader/fastboot option.
Does anyone have any idea how to enter the bootloader/fastboot mode for this tablet? Any help would be appreciated.

why do you want to enter the bootloader? and have they made any roms or cwm recovery for these types of generic android tablets?

Having been looking for this information myself i'm sharing real quick here what i've found. Scouring the net all over i've found NOTHING specific for these Chinese tablets but after finally getting on the scent of VROOT I downloaded and tried iROOT essentially a one-click rooter the .APK **DID NOT WORK** but the PC version **DID** can be found by googling iroot or vroot.
RE: bootloader, i've still found no way or any good info on entering the bootloader AFAIK this is locked and may not be possible without some good hard hacking on the firmware, I DO KNOW that if you try entering the "bootloader" with a reboot manager on the device u will find yourself at the "NeuTab" welcome screen and stuck. Fortunately at least in my experience, letting the tablet battery run down low you can boot back into it and root condition is still good.
Hope this helps somewhat I know its an old post but a lot of people have been looking for this info have yet to post on authors site confirming that the NeuTab also works with his software.
peace.
VE3UND
BTW I forgot to mention the site and the software (ALTHOUGH IT STATES OTHERWISE) is in Chinese. A leap of faith needed there I know but i confirm this method works. l8z
BTW^2 ALSO the android version was KitKat as received from the mfg, also have been told that Jellybean will install on the tablet after rooting and maybe is now included with device but don't quote me on that.
all in all a really nice tab for the price, especially now we have root biggest missing option: GPS but you can tether to another device with gps if you need to. Also no built in USB HOST MODE. //out
I've got the NeuTab N10 and can't get ADB to see it at all. How did you get ADB to work with your N7, were you able to find NeuTab ADB drivers somewhere?
So i recently came across this tablet in my stuff... something i picked up for the wife a few years back.
I also came across this website.... http://neutab.com/info-detail.php?InfoId=11
It has all the tools and programs that the company uses. includes all files for development of their entire line of tablets.
Thought this may be useful. just click on the link that says pheonixtools.zip and it will take you to a back end file server... This tablet is about as open sourced as it gets... so... this leads me to ask a question i have been struggling with for the last 2 years of being a member on this website...
can anyone... please... help me develop my first recovery and custom rom for this tablet? I just have never done it all the way... i have set up a couple things here and there... figured out how to strip the stock recovery and boot... but never got further than that.
Thanks for the help.
• Unzip phoenix tool.zip you just downloaded; (to open a .zip file, download WinRAR)
• In the folder of phoenix tool you just unzipped, depending on your system specs, select "drvinstaller_X64", "drvinstaller_x86" or "drvinstaller_IA64" to install tablet driver; Or you can run all three driver installer and at least one will work;
• Run "PhoenixSuit.exe", select "firmware" tab;
• Click on "Image" button, choose the firmware you just downloaded;
• Turn your tablet completely off (by press and hold power button for 20 seconds), press and hold "volume -" button, connect tablet to computer via usb cable, keep volume button held, press power button 10 times repeatedly;
• The phoenix tool should recognize the tablet. On pop-up dialog window, select if you want to format and wipe out everything on your tablet;
• The phoenix tool will start flash the firmware to the tablet. Wait till it is done;
• When upgrade is finished, disconnect your tablet from computer, press and hold power button for 10 seconds to quit upgrade mode. then press and hold power button for 2-4 seconds to turn tablet on;
Congratulations! Your tablet is now refreshed.
Ok so I have a NueTab Air 7 Android and I have talked toto their customer support which did neurologist absolutely no good. I have been trying to hard reset my tablet and do a factory reset by holding down the volume up and down keys and the power keys until it gives me the option of rebooting. However, there is no option for a factory reset. Only a Recovery mode, Fastboot mode, and Normal mode. I tired the Normal and Recovery an both sent me back to enter password that I can't rremember, which isthe why I'm resetting it lol. Finally I chose the Fastboot option and now it is stuck on that option and has been for almost an hour. It willwas not let me power off, try to hard reset, it is literally stuck. And it is a hundred percent charged. I do jot hav the optiontime to connectbe the tablet to acall Windows computer at this timetime, as the forums I have read say can possibly fix the issue. And what a surprise the customer service phone number for this specific tablet does not know how to fix it!!!!! Not surprised at all. If anyone at allthe has any ideas or knows what to do or howsomething to fix it please help meme. I'm very frustrated to say thethat least and in desperate need of help. Anything would be immensely appreciated. ~Melissa
How to identify the exact firmware of the N7 after this page (Oficial NEUTAB), I have 3 options but that IMEI series is nowhere in the table.

I would love to root this tablet purely because it's my daughter's and some of the games she likes has some real funky permissions That they want! A custom rom would be nice but I will be satisfied with being able to revoke some of the permissions that the apps want to have access to.

I have yet to be able to download the zip or the firmware software. i got root with kingo pc version but that's pretty much it and I can't change the route manager because once I delete that then I don't have root anymore and can't add another one. Also I have yet to been able to get into or see download mode on this either. It just stays on the screen with the name on it and that's pretty much it. no bootloader unlock either

[Q] LG G3 stuck in miniOS 3.1 + unresponsive screen

Alright, so i've searched and searched but i can only seem to find my problems separately. It started with the replacement of my new screen. i got it off Amazon and worked fine at first. but then i began to notice that once i locked my phone, the touchscreen would deem unresponsive( a battery pull would temporarily fix the issue) . i tried to fix the issue by going into the hidden menu to hopefully re calibrate my screen but once i tapped device test, i got stuck in the miniOS 3.1 and the worst part is that my touch screen wont respond( even after battery pull). so i cannot physically touch "OK" to begin the "Auto Touch Test"
Does it give you factory reset status 2???
no, i cant go any further from the device test
Do you see power off or restart button if yes press and hold power button while holding tap the power off or restart on the screen.
my touchscreen is unresponsive. i cant tap anything. is there any button combination or a computer program that can help?

Hey, does anyone know if there was a fix to this problem? I'm having the exact same issue and Power + tapping Normal Boot doesn't work since my touch screen is having problems. I'll still be looking around in the meantime, thanks!
Plug in your computer and pray for fastboot commands or adb, examples:
adb devices (run in thermial)
adb reboot recovery
Or
fastboot devices
fastboot reboot
Then hardware keys to custom recovery
If all else fails call customer service and try to get a replacement. There is no way (that I know of) for the device to look "flagged'. Pretty much we don't get any red bootloader text.
