Bootanimation - HTC Rezound

I seem to have located the bootanimation.zip(s).
/system/customize/resource/
Vigor_VZW_bootanimation.zip
hTC_bootanimation.zip
Attempting a push, however results in a read-only message for that directory.
Has anyone successfully replaced their Rezound bootanimation?

I might have to play with this/ wonder if temp root/ root explorer can work this? / Can't wait for s-off...
:: update ::
Seemed to restore after rebooting
-No surprise... matched permissions, filename, etc...
-nice thought/however...

I can't wait to change the boot animation. I use to all the time in winmo and on my iPhone.
Does anybody else get stuck at the 4g lte screen for about a minute?

try pushing one to data/local it might override it. Although I like the beats/lte one on there already. Better than the old us cellular clouds on my desire

There is an xml that will need edited in order for it to look in other folders for the animation. In my latest roms I had them in the media folder. It's a simple edit but will require root in order to overwrite the xml

[Q] Das BAMF Notification Widgets

I can't get the notification widgets to change. I have changed the widget.txt file in system, customize to be:
toggleWifi|toggleGPS|toggleBrightness|toggleFlashlight
but I have GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth, Data, Flashlight, sound in the pull down. I have rebooted many times but it is still not changing to what it should be. Is there another way to force this?
I'm not extremely sure, but I think you have to have the same amount of widgets in the text file as you original have which in this case would be six. You currently stated having made a text file with four, try adding two more toggles.
Hope this helps.

It worked with the same .txt file when I was on BAMF 1.4
I had the permissions set wrong, they should be set to rw-r--r--. That fixed it.
I'm glad you got it fixed.

Can you confirm that you don't need EXACTLY six widgets?
I managed to bork my phone this morning by trying to add a seventh widget and it wouldn't boot fully.
I didn't think to check the permissions after editing with root explorer, but got the phone up and running again by using adb to push back the original widgets.txt while in clockwork.
I then edited it again to have just six and deleted one of the "stock" ones by replacing it with the AutoRotate one. Phone booted fine.
Interestingly, my permissions on the file are rw-rw-rw- so I'm curious what the permissions are that kept you from changing. No problems booting, either, huh?

You can have less than 6, but I've never tried more. Maybe you can't.

[Bootanimation]--HACKERS the movie -- crash override bootup screen

I just put together a hackers boot animation based on crash overrides bootup screen from the movie hackers
I made it for my Rogers evo 3d so the zip is Rogers_bootanimation.zip
to use it in a custom rom just rename it Bootanimation.zip
I love this boot up and plan to add more animations to it.
UPDATE: Aug 31. now it loops infinitely
thanks

update
i forgot to upload the bootanimation so here it is
heres the sound to go with it
seeing this thread reminded me of that movie, havent seen it in a long time. gonna have to watch it now.
Request one .zip file (bootanimation+audio) in order to flash thru recovery. Tried to get it done before my computer completely crashed on me .
Preview please?
Is kool but you should make it so that it loops. After the initial boot it just stays static.

Oh my god. Lol
I lived this movie when I was younger. Not realistic at all. But I understood you can't show real hacking because it would be boring for movie goers.
I am totally flashing this! Awesome going man!
Actually, some of the stuff they did in that movie was possible only a few years prior.
Read this and see if it looks familiar.

Oh yeah. I know about that and the captain crunch whistlers 2600hz tone that triggered the tone the phone made when a coin was dropped. But by the time the movie came out that was well and fixed.
But I'm talking about "hacking the Gibson" and all that stuff. You know what I'm talking about. Lol

Anyway to get a flashable .zip made up?
Is it also possible to make the sound louder? I could barely hear it when my phone booted up. Thanks!
Help
I'm not sure how to go about making a flashable zip. If anyone can direct me in the right direction I will do it up.

Boot *down* animations?

I've searched, and only have come up with some very nice looking boot up animations, (great job to all those that have created them) but have yet to find any boot down animations. Anyone know where I can find some? Thank you.

OK so this is NOT a direct answer to your question, sorry. I found when using the down animations they all seem to be coded weird or something, because AFTER they finish there's about an 8 second delay before the screen actually goes off.
This lead me to REMOVE the downanim, which can be done by editing out some lines the default.xml.
I do have ONE downanim that is the "HTC - quietly brilliant" in a kinda neon green theme, which works well. Please feel free to PM me if you want help with either one

If you remove the lines on default.xml does the phone just turn off without having the black screen that it does now after the down animation?

yes and no. It does not have a black screen, so, yes. But, in place of the downanim, there's a dialog box "shutting down" for a few secs first, so, no.
Lol. Sorry if that makes no sense, try it out
Oh the edit is in /system/customize/CID/default.xml
near the bottom, edit out everything in between these two lines, but leave the lines themselves.
< ShutdownConfiguration >
blahblahblah <- edit out

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. I gather nobody really does boot down amnimations with the Evo 3d.
My rom has a CRT down animation, you can grab that one if u want it.

Boot Animations

Now that we have root, has anyone changed their boooader animation? I went searching in the files and noticed it was not as simple as renaming a bootanimation.zip file.
I'm trying to add the good ol energy star bios screen on to mine, had the same on my evo.

You might want to change the name of your thread. This has nothing to do with the bootloader.
I tried to change the boot animation file with an old boot animation file from the razr. Didn't work, still got the same stupid boot animation. that file didn't cause a problem either

I did the same thing, only I just tried altering the original images from the normal boot animation. There seems to be more than one location for the boot animation than just the system/customize/resource file location. If anyone can find it, let us know. I'd love to start making some custom boot animations for everyone.

A boot animation? No, I just wanted to know where to put them to actually get them to work. I like to make my own, but am used to Motorola phones. It was just one file location for those boot animations and really easy to change.
It should be in system /media
I have an Evo, but I know on some Evo ROMs it's in data/local. (I think on CM 7 Evo roms). Hope this helps at all.

Well, there's bootanimation.zip in system/media and hTC_bootanimation.zip in system/customize/resource. If I change the hTC boot, nothing happens. If I change the regular boot in media, it's just the htc splash screen and then it all goes black. Luckily it still starts. Not sure what would happen if I change both of them. Kind of afraid to now, haha.
try this one in system/media....

The bootanimation is in the system/customize/resource folder. It's Vigor_VZW_bootanimation.zip there is also one more called hTCbootanimation.zip in there as well. This is the first I seen a two stage boot animation. The easy was to change is to replace the vigor one and name the new one the same. If you want to change the location you will need to edit the default.xml in the system/resource/CID folder. For instance my bootanimation for my Rom is in system/media/anim folder now. Ofcourse the anim folder is one I created.
One last thing, if you don't delete the hTCbootanimation. You will continue to see the HTC quietly brilliant animation after the splash screen.
Hope this sheds light on the whole topic.

Hmm I wonder if this is specific to Chingy's rom or not. It doesn't seem to play the boot animation and just sticks at the white HTC screen. Although the phone does vibrate once, and if you hit the power button it turns the screen off during the white htc screen. Then if you turn the screen back on it plays the bootanimation for a few seconds before going to the lockscreen. I do see the edits in the default.xml to search for the bootanimation in the /system/media folders. I went in and saw the htcbootanimation in the system/ccustom/resource so I deleted that. Thought maybe that would fix the issue, but no dice. I even edited the default.xml to see if changing the boot animation path to system/customize/resource made a difference. I posted on his thread already, but wonder if anyone else has any ideas in the mean time :x.
Edit: the stock boot animation works without an hitch.... Ima check some permissions and see if that does anything.

[MOD] Disable Carousel Animation for Sense 3.0

Hi everyone,
This one took a bit too long to pull it off, but here it is.. As the title suggests it disables the Sense carousel animation (the quick rotation of all home screens) when you flick your finger quickly. Please don't confuse with disabling unlock carousel animation. It is for Sense 3.0 (Evo 3D of course) and S-OFF root users, I'm using it fine with latest Leedroid ROM. Flash the zip file and it should be all right. You should make a nandroid backup just in case. And please, hit the thanks button after
What are the odds this works with 3.5?
I hate this in Sense 3.0. It's neat, okay, but every time I wanna switch very fast between home screens, I end up having to wait 3-5 seconds until I get where I want... -.-
Is it 100% compatible with LeeDrOiD? I see the .zip contains the Rosie.apk, which is what LeeDrOiD Tweaks tinker with... but perhaps I'm wrong.
I'll try it later today, gotta charge & NANdroid first

what is the advance of doing it?
already possible to disable it for long time.

On HTC Evo 3D stock rom with sense 3.0 android 2.3.4, it boots up, but doesn't get past the rogers splash screen.. any tips?
It acts like its already booted because it goes to sleep and turns off the screen, and when I click the sleep button, it awakes but stays at the rogers splash while the capacitive lights light up
EDIT: If this helps at all I installed it via CWM 4.0.1.4 with revolutionary root and s-off

That one you're talking about should be unlock animation, this is different
Now it actually boots, but it won't let me go to the home screen, only to applications that I've set on the lockscreen.
EDIT: Yea please be aware anyone wanting to flash this on stock sense 3.0, 2.3.4 android, it won't work.

Thanks for the heads up, I've updated the OP that I tried with Leedroid ROM, it is possible that more than one version is necessary for different builds. Can you try deleting Rosie.odex from /system/app and restart?

You need to connect to your phone through your PC with adb then. However, it might just be easier to restore your backup and delete with Root Explorer. Here is the adb route if you feel like trying:
adb shell mount -o remount,rw,codepage=utf8,vfat,xattr,check=no /dev/stl5 /system
adb shell
cd /system/app
rm Rosie.odex
exit
can anyone with Stock ROM (rooted,S-Off,Sense 3.0) try this v2 beta and give me feedback?
again the same problem for me. it stops booting at the HTC bootanimantion and after a while it starts sleeping. if i press the sleep/wake button it just shows the htc boot-logo.
OK, from the feedback I receive it seems to be compatible with couple of Custom ROMs and not stock ROM. There are lots of build and Sense combinations so it is impossible to make a universal patch. I would have to make 5-6 different versions and honestly, from the attention and complaints it gathered, I think it's not worth it. People look happy with the animation I guess Anyway, if your on Leedroid or other compatible build you can flash and use it, but I don't plan to take this further to other phones or builds.
Yeah working fine on my leedroid. Very useful. I hated that carousel effect.
If you want to use this mod on my builds you will need to patch my rosie as it will break tweaks

it does turn off the annoying carousel animation occurring when you're trying to change your homescreens quickly. sorry no video, honestly I don't know how to show/prove a disabled feature, say I might still be swiping below the threshold so no carousel animation occurs, guess you gotta see it yourself
