[hard brick]how to flash back my phone now? I got .pit and .tar file already. - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Hello everyone,
I have a Galaxy Player 4.0 (YP-GB1) 16gb Korea version (much like Galaxy S without phone function only, other things equal). Few weeks ago, I tried to install a Galaxy S ROM ( both .tar and .PIT files). It was a terrible mistake since the PIT file for Galaxy S doesn't fit my player. Hence, my player became dead from then (no response to buttons, no response to Odin).
I tried to get Odin recognize my player successfully by pressing the volume down button. But, couldn't restore the player with .tar file.
So, I posted in a Korean forum and got the PIT file.
But now, even I tried with that new PIT file in Odin. Odin stuck at the SET PARTITION and never moved on.
My question is: how to flash back my phone now? I got .pit and .tar file already.
And, my PIT file is 256kb. is it weird? I mean, most of the PIT files are about 2kb only

256Kb PIt files are a direct dump from the device, The first 2-4Kb are real content and the rest is just zeros, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Maybe you can try to get another PIT file to see if the problem is an incorrect file. There is a thread about that in the development subforum.

Telus Fascinate T959P Stock

Not sure If this is the right section but, where can I find the stock files for the fascinate 4g t959 since a wrong kernal was flashed on. Looked all over the internet but to no avail i could not find the stock files. CAn anybody help
Can anyone point me to the firmware .BUMP
T959P Alternative Firmware with TMobile
I fixed mine by flashing it to TMobile Galaxy S 4G:
Created Tar containing the following files fromT959VUVKH2_TMB stock firmware: (T959P to TMobile Galaxy S 4G.tar)
cache.rfs
data.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
modem.bin
zImage
Used the following with Odin
PIT=Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit
PDA=T959P to TMobile Galaxy S 4G.tar (created as per above)
Entered Download mode and clicked start and voila my bricked t959p was a TMobile Galaxy S 4g.
After this you can root it with the stock+Voodoo-T959VKH2.tar file. Can't find stock telus files and Kies won't detect the phone after so until someone can provide stock files no going back. Better than a brick though and everything works.
Easy Unlock after rooting too just by searching the NVram dump with a hex editor.
I did the same thing and if anyone knows where I can get a copy of a stock Kernel for the Samsung Fascinate T959P (Telus)
Many Thanks in avance
stock kernal

[Q] How to install Kies downloaded firmware?

After searching around in the forum, I have a specific question I cannot find the answer to.
I am presently on the overcome 2.2.0 Rom (P7510, XWKL1). The result of this is that, of course, it cannot be updated through KIES.
My Kies downloaded a file for upgrading my 7510, which can be found on the harddisk, and is XWKL1 stock for my Dutch region (PHN). The Overcome Rom is XAB.
In preparation for ICS (stock, coming in the next two months I hope), I would like to go back to the stock XWKL1 for PHN.
I am stuck as to the procedure though:
1) restocking with the overcome restocking will not be PHN as well, so Kies will not upgrade for PHN
2) I have found the firmware upgrade file on my harddisk, but is has no extension and therefor I do not know how to install this over overcome 2.2.0. How do I turn this file into something I can flash?
Who can give me the precise instructions here?
Hi I'm also looking for a long time to a Dutch ROM PHN csc
You'll have to use Odin and a stock firmware from samfirmware.com
You also have the flashing guide on the same site
I installed the ROM via odin but in none of the stock ROMs is the Dutch csc present.
** Bumping this **
As I have note been able to sort out what I wanted, I'll try again with this bump.
Specifically tryin to find the answer to question 2 in my OP:
2) I have found the firmware upgrade file on my harddisk, but is has no extension and therefor I do not know how to install this over overcome 2.2.0. How do I turn this file into something I can flash?
Have searched again in the forums but did not find the answer.
All files have some sort of extension. At least in my experience. It may not show but it's still got a file type/extension. On a windows machine find the file and right click on it and choose properties. It should show xxxxx.yyy where yyy is the file type/extension. Post what it is and someone will let you know what to use it with.
This is my best suggestion.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using one stinky finger.
The file really has no extension. I have showing the extensions turned on in windows, so it would show if it had one. The filename is: XWKL1PHNKK1XWKL1XWKL1 and giving it a .zip or .rar extension does not make it readable.
I'm at a loss then. I've never seen a file that didn't end with (dot)something. I'll look more into it and hopefully someone will help before it's lost.
Sorry I couldn't help.
If you see this it was sent using my GT-P7510.
When kies downloads a firmware it saves it in a file that only Kies can read, I would however suggest you just get it downloaded from sammobile site, as they have it there, you may need to register, but I do hope their file sharing issues are rectified and the links still work... Bloody SOPA.
You could however factory reset?
I could, but Sammobile does not have this firmware/CSC combination available for download. Do you know of someway to kickstart Kies into installing the firmware it has downloaded, so I can go back to a restoch and then force the install of this firmware?

Well like I said, back then the original firmware files would consist of 3 different files, the Phone/PDA/CSC, you just need the PDA file, Apparently they've made it easier now by making sure all you need is the PDA file and just to flash that file via Odin in the *not so obvious * PDA slot, It now contains the CSC/Regional of the desired firmware and the modem.img

Just a quick question, what is a Kies file format? Is it xxxx.yyy or just xxxx with yyy being a format or extention?
Or am I just completely ignorant on this?
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.

As far as I know the format is somewhat like xxxyyy it's just a dump file, I haven't gotten around to waste time and figure what app works best on opening/converting, and plus it's risky since if the normalboot.img doesn't get flashed you may end up with a brick but I'm pretty sure its in a md5 format or a tar atleast.

Galaxy a7 Pit file needed

Hey guys!
