Constant reloading of the home screen? - HTC Amaze 4G

I have this problem where when I click the home button to go back to the home screen, it would pop up this htc page & then a loading screen for about 10 seconds before I can finally access my home page, it's really annoying & happens everytime. I've been trying to find a way to fix it, tried restarting the phone & such. I would reset the phone, but not trying to lose all my settings, apps, data, etc. Can you please help? =\ I have a HTC Amaze 4G.

you could try deleting data/cache for HTC Sense, found under settings/applications/all. There are 2 listings for HTC Sense, delete data/cache for both. you will have to set up your widgets and such again though.

I had this problem alot with the sensation but never ever on the amaze?

Home button not working

After installing the HKTW Gingerbread, my lockscreen has disappeared, and the home button isn't working. It's tedious, to the say the least, to have to press the back button about 10 times to get to the home screen.
I've looked online, and it seems people just had to enable the lockscreen again. I can't find the option to disable it or enable it.
From what I remember reading last night some people had success getting their home button working after either restoring data or taking out their battery/putting back in.
I didn't back up data :/
I've pulled the battery several times, to no effect. Its quite annoying lol

Bump, can no one help me with this? Or should I just flash back?
Me too
I'm running 1.83 with an unlocked bootloader. My problem presents itself as no lock screen, home button and search buttons do not work for single press or long press (but do still provide haptic feedback), and holding down the power button only gives the option to power off, not airplane mode or silent.
Factory Data Reset fixes the problem until the power turns off.
Did you restore system data with titanium?
i had the same prob and had pulled the batter 1/2 a dozen times before i saw this thread. didn't help, so titanium to the rescue. not sure what it would take to fix it aside from that, but that was absurd and aggravating to no end, fsck that.
The reason I asked the question was because when I restored all of my system data, this happened to me. I started over again but this time I didn't restore my finger printer scanner data and for the first four packages with "accounts" in their name. Now I have a completely working 2.3.4 with the proper AT&T market.
I didn't do a TiBu before I went to Gingerbread, and had the same problems. Interestingly enough, after installing the build.prop fix, a few hours later I locked the screen and when I turned it back on the lock screen was back.
mine is completely gone too
i had this problem when attempting to restore data via titanium backup. reflashed and downloaded apps fresh, and no problems.
Were you able to figure it out, our did you reflash?
Can anyone please upload the titanium backup for system data?

[Q] Stock 1.2 Boot Issue with Alternative Home Screen

I searched fairly extensively and could not find an answer. I sure hope that I am not the only one that has ever had the problem.
This is one I think I caused myself.
I loaded Go Launcher and was trying it out on the tablet. This is one that I use on the phone and would likely use on the tablet as well. I did not check the "Always Use for this Operation" when hitting the home screen as I was still organizing and making my transition.
At one point I rebooted. unit now boots through the birds, g tablet screen, and the Tap n Tap, but stays at the n portion of the Tap n Tap. I have waited for up to 30 minutes and no change.
My theory is that it does not know which home screen to activate and is basically waiting with a response without a prompt. Other Android devices that I have used don't seem to have this issue, so this is confusing.
I have not yet rooted and had planned on staying that way for some time. I am wondering if anyone has had this issue and been successful in resolving without NVFlash? Anyone have suggestions on removing Go Launcher without full boot?
You can try booting into recovery and Wipe user Cache only. If don't have CWR for the 1.2 boot then you can get that and side load it off of the external SD Card through the stock recovery. Google search or even these forums are your best bet.
Thanks. The cache only didn't work. I did a factory default reload. Not my preferred route as I had to spend some time reloading applications, screens, etc., but I am up and running at least.
I confirmed the issue. A word to the wise, always select the "Always Use" option if you have more than one launcher installed with the stock Tap n Tap ROM.

Suddenly my Rezound hangs all the time

At first I thought my problems stemmed from an update with WidgetLocker. However, I uninstalled that and the problems persist.
Description of problem:
So I boot the device to the lock screen.
I unlock the phone and all I see is my background with the taskbar at the top. No icons. I can't interact with anything. After a few seconds the screen goes dim and times out. Even if I touch the screen to keep this from happening.
I hit the power button to turn the screen back on. No response. I wait 30 seconds or so and it turns back on. I am greeted with "xxxx process/program has stopped responding do you want to force quit, wait, or send a report" (whatever program happens to be up, doesn't seem to matter, all programs cause this to happen). If I hit force quit the program still hangs. If I hit "wait" the program starts working. This isn't a very repeatable event in that sometimes when I turn the screen back on instead of the "force quit" screen I get the background with taskbar.
While all this is going on I am still receiving status updates, emails, texts, etc. Sometimes I can get to the point where icons appear on my homescreen but if I tap a program's icon the screen just freezes.
I have Go Launcher installed but this happens in Go Launcher or Sense.
Any ideas what is going on? So far I've:
restarted
removed battery
restarted without back on
restarted without sim card in
No luck.
I tried "restore" but after being shown green arrows and an icon of the device I immediately get an icon of the device and a red exclamation in a triangle.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to avoid a hard reset.
I would run the RUU. I know you don't want to wipe, but I would back up your data as best you can and wipe it.
any recommendations for backing up? I can't really get to any apps right now.
What does RUU mean?
ROM update utility. Stock rom releases from HTC.

well
I ran the phone down to 0% battery. Restarted it and things seemed ok. But just now it is starting to hang again so going to back it up and run that RUU.
I tried the RUU but was told it could not communicate with my phone even though I had it plugged in via usb.
Instead of installing the RUU I installed one of the leaked ICS updates (official one for the rezound). Now it functions somewhat better. There is still often a long wait between pressing home while in an application and going to the home screen. Also while the screen is off, pressing the power button to turn the screen on I have to wait a good minute for the screen to come back on. Any idea what in the world is going on?
Sounds weird. Anyway, here are a couple thoughts:
When you installed the ICS leak, did you do a complete wipe of everything? If not, do it and reinstall whatever ROM you like.
Otherwise, in recovery, wipe cache and dalvik again. While you're in Recovery, it wouldn't hurt to run Fix Permissions.
HTH - Good luck!
I did a factory reset to the ics rom.
How do I clear cache and what is dalvik.
I'm going to download one of the official rezound 2.3 update toms and flash it. If that doesn't work ill take it to a Verizon store and see what they can do. It is under warranty.
I've noticed that apps function fine the problem is getting to and from the home screens. It's then that the phone freezes up for a minute or so.
Ok was going to reset phone to 2.3 but got the main version error so going to try this trick to get the main version down to where I can "upgrade" to 2.3:

Everything get worked out?
I can't get temp root to work so I can install superuser. Working on that now.
seems ICS leak has no temp root ability. I've reached the end of my road as I don't know where to go from here.

[Q] Google Plus / Google+ does not start on HTC Evo v 4g

I'm trying to load up google plus / google+ on my wife's phone. It it a Virgin Mobile HTC evo v 4g with nega-lite blurom. Every time I try to start the app, the screen freezes like its about to start but it never does. I usually give it about 10-30 seconds but it never starts. I am able to hit the home button and it comes back to the home screen. This is also true for the google+ messenger app icon. I've tried to uninstall/re-install several times, and tried to reboot a few times as well. Is there anything else I can try to get this going?
Im trying to enable the autoupload feature for pictures to automatically upload to google+ in case the phone is lost or the SD card becomes corrupted (which it did recently and I had to format to get it to work again).
Thanks.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Problem

Hi
I have an unlocked samsung galaxy s4 gt-i19505
Recently after i updated to 4.4.2 kitkat i started having problems. After the phone is not being used for a while, when i press the unlock button the unlock screen appears but the circle with the lock inside it is missing and the phone appears to loose touch i can't unlock the phone or pull down the notification panel. When i press the lock button again the screen goes black and the phone just freezes completely. It doesn't react to the unlock button any more or to the home screen button. I have to take out the battery and then everything is normal again until the phone is left unused for a while again.
I tried reinstalling the firmware again but it didn't help. I didn't factory reset the phone as I don't want to be setting it up again as it takes me a while. Does anyone have similar problems knows how to fix it ?
Thanks.

It sucks to reset, but you gotta do what you gotta do. That is often the first step of troubleshooting as it eliminates lots of other possibilities all at once. Especially if you updated to 4.3 to 4.4.2 without wiping. I know Samsung says it's cool and give OTA updates and all that, but I've worked on dozens and dozens of Samsung devices and they always seem to run best if you factory reset after updating (or downgrading). There are tons of apps that can back up your call logs, texts, apps, contacts, etc that you can use to restore afterwards. Then you just gotta log back into your accounts and set up your home screen. It's annoying, but will probably be quicker than trying to troubleshoot one little thing after another. Just the nature of the beast with stuff like this. It's not Samsung's fault per se, just how software is. It seems to run differently on different phones without much rhyme or reason.
