MissedIt and K9 Mail - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have switched from the Gmail app to K9 mail so I can get notifications on email through MissedIt. However it doesnt detect my emails. It works fine for text messages and phone calls, but wont count any emails. I have it setup and all the names and references are right. Any ideas?

Anyone?

Stock mail app

Is it just my View or is the stock mail app messed up. I have a shortcut to the mail app on the home screen. When I get a new email the notifier tells me and the mail icon on the home screen has a number on showing the number of new emails. I tap the mail icon and open the mail app and instead of showing the messages, it says no mail. I have to open the mail app and then tell it to refresh on order to see the email that the app notifier has told me that I have. Is this how the stock mail app is normally?
Are you using gmail or some other mail provider?

It is a pop 3 account with the mail app. My gmail works great.
Mail app is fine on my end. Exchange, yahoo, hotmail accounts. Mail icon pops up on the notification bar, open the mail app the emails are sitting in the respective inboxes. Do you have auto download messages checked in the settings?
Yes it is set to auto download and I have the peak and off peak download time set tot he same. I also tried checking the Refresh on open but that didn't help either. I removed my pop account and set it up again and that didn't help either. I don't know what is going on with it.

[Q] push yahoo emails to phone setup?

How can I setup my yahoo email account to push the emails to my phone instead of having the phone checking for them every 15 minutes?
pushing emails to the phone is better for battery life so that is why I am asking.
maybe there is a way to connect my yahoo email to the gmail app, so that way emails will be pushed to my phone through gmail..?
Yeah, you can use POP or IMAP, I forget which to have gmail grab your yahoo mail for you. You set it up through gmail.
I don't think yahoo has exchange settings.

use IMAP
here are the settings that have always worked for me:
Edit: nevermind, read the OP incorrectly... my badd
Yahoo doesn't use the standardize IMAP - Idle. It's a variation of P-IMAP that Apple and Yahoo "made up" with various protocols
Long story short... there is only ONE app I know that works with Yahoo's Push. Maildroid
There is a Yahoo email app in the market. Not sure if it's what you're looking for though, as I haven't used it.
I think you can do one of two things:
1) setup your gmail to pull emails from your yahoo mail account. Problem is that you can't send via yahoo mail account, using this method.
2) you can download the Yahoo Mail app but reports show that its a battery killer.
I think Yahoo wont let you push mail directly from them unless you pay for their premium service or use their own Yahoo app
OP, go to GMail settings on your desktop. Set it up to retrieve emails from your Yahoo mail account. You can also set a label for all the email from Yahoo. It will then push them into your Gmail app with proper label. Gmail server will automatically figure out the interval it will check for the mail from Yahoo so your phone don't have to do it.
Yahoo mail is one of the worst mail servers for Smartphones.

ugh, it won't let me set it up through gmail because i dont have the yahoo! mail plus.
any other ideas on how to push yahoo email to my phone?
i know moving to using just gmail would be an option, but that would take entirely too long to change all my email addresses on all the sites i visit to a gmail address.

I remember I had this issue setting up yahoo mail on my captivate with the stock email. I never use my yahoo account, I don't even know why I have one. I figured I would give it a try on the SGS II for kicks. The settings look like they are specific for Samsung phones (and different than the previous screen shots). Can you manually enter these settings into gmail?
Incoming settings:
Outgoing settings:
Of course replace my email address with your own.
My other suggestion would be yahoo settings. Can you set a yahoo account to auto-forward?

figured it out using this tutorial:

instead of using Asia location, use UK.
worked and now yahoo mail is being forwarded to gmail!
soooo relieved. thanks for your help

[Q] Yahoo Mail push notifications

My friend has just got a new S3 and uses the Yahoo Mail app. I've sent him various emails relating to work he needs to do, and he claims he hasn't received them. This has been in the past week. So my question. Does the app support push notifications, and do they work? Would he have got some notification of new emails and is just saying he hasn't had anything. Does he need to manually refresh his inbox? Or is it likely none of my emails have gone through to him?
No I don't believe the Yahoo Mail app does support push I think it defaults at a 15 minute refresh though.

Mail notification not working

I just upgraded to the lg g5. Notifications work fine except I get no email notifications for my gmail account when using other clients like Maildroid or Blue Mail. When I enable gmail itself for notifications. It works. Been through all the settings. Any advice? Thanks

Mail client and late notifications

Hi all, I have 4 accounts in my mail. I need a simple light client that works like mail on iPhone (where you can see the unread folder for all the 4 accounts altogether).
Moreover, the Gmail app and the stock mail app you found in the phone both receive mails only when you refresh the app itself or very late from when your account actually received the mail.
Is there a solution?

For 7 email accounts, I was using Newton, paid for two years. Now i am using Email from Edison Software. I am sure you can find them from play store. Both of them are working fine to me.
The only flaw is Email from Edison Software doesn't support rich text signature. I sent an email to developer about 1 year ago request this feature. They promised they are working on it.
I've just switched to outlook.
It brings all of my Gmail accounts emails perfectly including the spam into outlooks spam folder.
It also let's you move received emails into your separate folders.
You can import your Google calendar.
And it does exactly what you want and shows all email accounts on the same page.
