I bought this off of DailySteals 12/16/2011, and got it via UPS today, 12/23/2011.
When I booted it up, it was already updated with Honeycomb.
Just an FYI, that it seems like modern shipments come with it updated, so rooting is not an option 'till a method is found for HC (either perm. via S-OFF, or temp via exploit (e.g. GB and zergRush)).
Wow, very interesting. I ordered one from there on the same day, but haven't even received a shipping notification yet. But my plan is to upgrade it to Honeycomb anyway. I'm hoping that someone will figure out rooting on it down the road.

The sprint honeycomb update was officially released on 12/22/2011 so somehow either it was shipped to them updated with HC or someone was playing with your package and upgraded it...
Meaning HC was already getting rolled out before the 22 date?? I'm just as clueless as anyone is..

I'd rather hope it's not the latter. It was advertised as brand new, and the little sticker that says "VOID" if you rip it was still intact >.>.
Meh, I don't really care for GB; would've updated to HC (albeit after it getting rooted) anyway.
Only thing I miss is removing bloatware, and the app to show/hide the bar on the bottom (that thing's annoying; we have hardware buttons FOR A REASON!).
I bought it off the daily steals too I noticed they don't come sealed but they're listed as new not new other, besides the package everything else was sealed inside.
Got mine in a few days ago and has GB.
I disabled updates so it will not bug me to update. Prefer GB over HC, on smaller displays.
Glad you got yours, I bought one and received an empty box and got no response from dailysteals and had to file a paypal claim.
That is good to know about Dailydeals. I was not sure to go with them or not. Anywhere else to get one at a reasonable price in the states?
Not really that's the cheapest locations I've found 300$ seems to be the base amount.
There have been on going back and forth sales from $219 to $250 on the web the past couple of weeks. Keep a look out on ebay and these forums. People usually post a deal when there is one. I got mine from 1SaleaDay on ebay for $239.

I'm considering getting the flyer for xmas.
I noticed at bestbuys website it says "no shipping" and when I check to see if they have it in stock locally it doesn't show up.
I am not hard set on getting it yet, because I'm really wondering if I just want a new toy and it will sit collecting dust after a few weeks of usage..
Or I will seriously use it for ereading/manga purposes.
I'm sure HTC is not manufacturing any more, but that's normal for companies to make a big production run and then move on to the next new device. So whatever stock was out there , when its gone , its gone. Looks like BB is out, so I only see them on other sites now. I guess some of the carriers like Tmob and Sprint still have the 3g/4g versions in stock.

Most, or perhaps all manufacturer don't keep assembly lines open just to pump out a few more units. They make a big run, take a look at initial sales and either make one more run or switch over to new hardware. They don't need to announce it, that's just the only way to keep prices competitive. And the hardware guys don't make money selling old products at a reduced price. 6 months is old news in hardware

That's a stock answer form HTC on almost every question. You can just about be guaranteed that HTC has not been manufacturing any Flyers since May 2011. THat would be standard procedure. Whatever their production number was, that's what supply exist. They did make another run of the View / 4g for Sprint.
You really don't think that Best Buy can say to HTC , hey we need another 2000 Flyers and HTC is going to go "snap" sure we will spend another $500k setting the assembly line back up just for your tiny order".

Or maybe they're just backordered. This has happened a couple times in the last few months and somehow they always seem to reappear. If you can get it shipped to the store in 3-5 days from BestBuy that means it's still available.

The production line hasn't manufactured Flyers in a while.
It's obvious HTC is not very enthusiastic about the tablet market. Afterall, the profit margin on smartphone is much higher than the cut-throat tablet markets.

My Amazon "Pre Order" for the 64 gig version says releasing at the end of January early February. I have had this thing on pre-order since December and I am kind of getting tired of waiting.
Is there an actual brick and mortar store I can drive to that has this thing in stock anywhere? I don't care if its 32 or 64.

I finally heard about NowInStock.net and signed up to receive email alerts (I chose only stores that had brick&mortar in my city). It only took 2-3 days for something to be made available.
Also, remember that the longer you wait the fewer the hardware defects should be (except GPS of coarse ) so thats a happy thought. Good luck dude.

Yes there are local stores selling these. I bought mine from a Fry's retail location in Atlanta (Alpharetta).

They didn't have docks when I was there a couple of days ago.
There is a thread about how to special order a Grey dock by walking into Best Buy. You should be able to get a dock within a few days. I did it and it worked like a charm.

Still not in stores, but, going into a solid day 2 of availability on Best Buy's website tells me the initial onslaught has slowed to a crawl and they should start to flow from the other sources (Amazon. Abe's, etc.) and perhaps start to show up in brick and mortars.
Before this I had not seen it available for more than a few hours at a time. Also, you can now go through the "proper" searches on their web site to find it "in stock" (i.e. computers>tablets>price>bingo!) where before you had to search specifically for it (almost "back channel" it).
Can't help but wonder if the known issues arising has slowed demand to this point or if this has occurred naturally.
BTW, mine is scheduled for delivery today by EOD. Yay!
You can check Google Product Search and Milo.com as well. Prime has been showing up in few local Best Buy stores as IN STOCK.
I ordered mine from OD on Wednesday and I tracked it. it's scheduled to be here on Monday. I called and ordered it. Also I called and they said they didn't have it. Then I called back to see when they'd have it and they had it. Then I called back with my payment information and they said they were out. Then I called back to see if I backordered it if the coupon would apply and they had it and now according to UPS it'll be here Monday. So perhaps it depends on the person you get. Oh yea the automated thingie said they were OOS as well but when it sent me to the CSR they had it. weird.
I really wanted a 64GB model but don't wanna wait, and 32GBmicrosd cards are cheap enough to make me order. best buy site says it can't be picked up but shipped to me. Should I just hold out for the 64GB model?
That's the real question, when are the 64GB models gonna start showing up I'm stores, not too picky on colors

Best Buy should have the Grey 32 model still in stock, ordered one a week ago got it a few days ago. Unfortunately I had a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen so I had to exchange for a new one. I just called today and they are already sending me a new one so BB should have plenty in stock. Besides in a week everyone will start to have them in stock.

Well the issues are pretty minor to me. I don't quite care that the bootloader is locked. Asus is very sparing with the customization. Also I won't be using the tablet for GPS, since the only really useful GPS requires a 3G signal and my Galaxy Nexus handles that just fine.
This tablet is still top dog in my book and I am done waiting for others.
BTW, mine is scheduled for delivery today by EOD. Yay!

Im looking to upgrade to the HTC Titan from the HD2 and using Quidco i get a nice £50 cashback deal if i get it from the Carphone Warehouse website. But, for at least the last week its constantly said Out Of Stock.
Does anyone know (perhaps an insider) if and when stock may become available again, or are they flying off the shelves as soon as stock is available?

I dont think their ordering too many of them. Generally any Windows Phone they seem to store sweet **** all of them, even the Lumia's are hard to come by...
It seems to be in stock on their website - can't you order and have it delivered to your home or local store?
Hmmm, it hasnt been anytime i have looked. Just checked again now.
Though i do wonder if they have 1 or 2 in stock at a time which then get snapped up almost instantly, so maybe i just need to catch it at the right time.
Seems though though i could get either lumia or the radar straight away. But i want the titan, sigh. This trusty old Touch Diamond is starting to grate now :\

I wouldnt recommend the Radar. Its not a bad phone for the price. But the screen on it is not great, only way to use the Radar is with a white theme as the blacks are washed out as hell on that.
Lumia 800, HTC Titan, Samsung Omnia W are probably the best WP7 handsets out.
Samsung Omnia W is probably the best of the whole lot cause it has all the good specs for a cheaper price. Unless you need 16GB of storage which leaves you out to the Lumia and the Titan.
Got mine free on a 12 month contract with dial.a.phone and unlimited everything basically. Carphone warehouse had no stock and kept trying sell me a blackberry lol.
Hmm so an update, i decided to click through the carphone warehouse website and picked the upgrade deal i wanted and it decided to let me proceed to checkout (it said stop because of no stock when i tried that last a couple of weeks ago). All has now gone through and i should have something to play with tomorrow or Thursday!
So it seems that the Out of Stock note on the Carphone Warehouse website is actually a bit of a fib. Nevermind, the £50 cashback they give Quidco to give to me will be quite nice

Well firrst Titan I bought in 2 january it was in the stock, and when I bought second Titan, as well was in stock. I don't seen any problem bought from CW.
I noticed Newegg was showing stock today for the Prime Gray and Champagne. I just put in my order. I figure I'll give it a go for a couple of weeks and decide if I want to send it back or not. Really looking forward to getting it in.

Thanks for the info...I had ordered mine last night from amazon and it said 1-3 weeks out....Happy that newegg has it in stock and is shipping right away.
Given Newegg's 15% restocking fee, I'd never buy from them unless I was 100% sure I'd be keeping something.
I am surprised at how hard this tablet is to find. Not only has it been two months since the thing was released but ASUS claimed that they "will reach normal inventory levels in January for the North American market" which has obviously not happened seeing that we are in the third week of February.
Of course they would blame the scarcity on higher than expected demand but I don't think that is the whole story. If another few weeks go by and the Prime is still as hard to find as it is now, then my guess is they are intentionally not producing as many for whatever reason (possibly in preparation for the release of the next version already).
Ive just saved enough money for the WiFi version and wnet to the Sony site to buy it and now theres no mention of it. You can only buy tye Lte version for £579. Is it sold out or have they scrapped it? Also the release date has been pushed back a week for the Lte version.

I actually ordered thevwifi version myself back in april.
It was expected to ship on the 27th of May. Then I received an email on the 26th saying that due to "unfortunate" delay they are expected to ship on the 5th of June.
I called sony and they told me that it is probably a problem of availability..... I was pissed off on the fact that I ordered it about 2 months before the shipment period.
Yet I am starting to think that they are actually trying to push the LTE version more on the pre sales hence why they removed it from the pre orders page ans replaced it with the LTE version.
But I still cannot believe why would every tablet delivery should be delayed instead of just starting to ship those which are already available. It can only lead me to assume there is some fault with them or they want to install further stuff and reship them to the UK.
Either way it is very strange from sony... Any other opinions on the matter or anyone who knows more??
Not sure whats going on as its not available to buy at all on the sony uk website now. Could be to do with Microsoft and preinstalled office apps which was in the news lately. Fed up with it so i bought a 128gb surface 3 with keyboard for the same price as the lte z4 tablet. Im a Sony fan and absolutely everything electronic i own is by them (PC/z3 tablet/smartwatch 3/z3 phone/ps4/Headset etc but ive had enough now, year after year with promised release dates then it gets knocked back and support getting worse. Switching to MS now.
Actually I called them again yesterday and they confirmed to me that the wifi version is sold out that is why it has been temporarily removed from the website.
Thanks, they could have made people aware on the website, after all being sold out is something to brag about!
