which is the best video converter for Nook tablet - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

Hi Guys,
Can somebody point out a video converter for nook tablet ?.
Cheers!!!!!

You don’t need any converter when you can sideload something like MX player!
Sent from my BNTV250 using Tapatalk

I use WinX DVD Ripper and it works great, but there is a fee to download it. I've heard of others using HandBrake which is free but I haven't tried it.

As someone else mentioned a third party player like MX Player or Mobo removes the need for converting. Having said that, I use VLC to convert larger videos to MP4 format so they take up less space. It has way more options than I need but is still pretty simple to use.

Handbrake works great

Well, i just tried to play avi file using MX Player,, but could not play it.. infact MX Player did not even recognise it..
So, what i am doing wrong..

You need to download the arm7 codec pack from the market as well for mxplayer

Save hours - use mxplayer
Save hours on conversion times and use mxplayer.
If u have playback problems try using the software decoder option, which u set in the preferences or my tapping top right during playback.

Best movie player for atrix?

What is the best video player that works on atrix? I tried QQ and V Player and they both fail pretty hard. V player won't even open anything
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
I ve only used one since I had the atrix and it plays all of my movies flawless that's "rockplayer lite" I don't know which is the best because it's the only one I tried but I will stick with it since it works.

Check out Vital Player.
arcMedia has worked very well for me, handles .avi files and doesn't afraid of anything..
edit: I tried to post a link but lurking has its disadvantages. Search "arcmedia" in the market and you should find it ezpz
I personally use doubletwist and that does music and video so that's what I use

I use mVideo Player. It works great with added feature of specifying your video folder, adding subtitles from the web and downloading Poster pics for your converted videos. Plays .m4v,mp4, or .mak formats which are the only ones I use.

This. I use the stock video player for everything (I just convert the videos...it takes 10 seconds) but if I use an app to download a youtube video that doesn't play natively VitalPlayer can do it.
I agree with Vital Player. Just grabbed it and it works great.

Same as circuit, but you have to make sure to use FFMpeg since the Atrix doesn't play high-profile H.264. Plays perfectly though if you transcode in FFMPeg even up to 1080p and 5,000kbps or higher. Doesn't seem to phase it at all.
i use rockplayer and it works pretty solid. plays anything i downloaded from the internet.

this is strictly converter for iPhone, and it doesn't do .avi files. I use FormatFactory to convert my videos, it's a very powerful app and support many formats.

No handbrake is not only for iphone, its for mpg4. So its perfect for transcoding to .mp4 or containers like *.mkv. I use it all the time and it works great if you make your own presets. Heck even the presets for iphone work great if you don't mind the scaling.
Do these converters retain sub titles? I wish we didn't have to convert anything. When I had the Galaxy Tab that thing played everything I threw at it with no conversions.

With handbrake you can hard sub or multi lang sub. But im not sure how well different players will work with muti lang subs. VLC needs to get a native android app with gpu and smp decoding asap!
Rockplayer iprettyawsome even plays mkv

I run Rock Player Lite. It plays .avi files flawlessly and that's the majority of my vids. Also the default Entertainment via hdmi works wonders.
MoboPlayer is the best
I have a bunch of video players each with its own set of features. MoboPlayer is excellent. It shows you video list screenshots, it reads off the external SD card, it plays all formats, it has onscreen controls, there are onscreen controls to size the screen, it is fast and colors are good. The only thing it does not do is play videos in the background. I believe Meridian Player does that.

[Q] Using stock video player to play MP4

I have converted the videos to H264 MP4 by using format factory. Every time when I played the video, it ran smoothly in the beginning. But when the video was about to end, it started to lag. This circumstance happens to every video I played. May I know if anybody is facing the same problem ? It's really frustrating.
Why do you want absolutely the stock player?
Try mx video + arm7 mx codecs on market.
get Diceplayer, best out there. no need for extra codecs. just dowload the free version and play your video.
Why do it harder then it is?

Definitely MXPlayer Free. The pro version only deletes the Ads, so it is not needed.
O like MX Player better. It also works great when you stream video from LAN. Also, you can use ffmpeg codecs, found here on XDA, so you can decode DTS, that currently is not officially supported by any decent player, 'cos some lame copyright legal bullfeces.

I haven't tested DTS but I do have to straight Bluray to M4V rips that work perfectly with it. It reminds me a lot of Windows Media Center or XBMC.

Gave Archos a try. Played my downloaded movies and TV Shows after installing the proper codecs. It's a damn good media center, but it make more sense if you have a large hard drive attached or if you have a Android Media Center attached to your TV. The SMB/Shared Folder feature is really cool to access and index videos stored on a NAS or remote PC. Overall it's a good player, but I would recommend MX Player, it's free, codecs are free and you can play pretty much everything with it.
Archos have a subtitle downloader tool, but for Brazilian Portuguese, it doesn't make any sense, since the App doesn't distinct Portugal Portuguese from Brazilian Portuguese, at least it didn't when I tried.

If you happen to have or acquire the keyboard dock, you could have a total of 128GB additional space (64GB MicroSDXC + 64GB SDXC). That's plenty of space for me to store a good mobile video library w/o breaking a sweat. If you happen to have more, portable HDD/SSD solutions are getting cheaper. I hope that Archos does improve upon their title searching & brings in a better subtitle downloader.
MX player all the way, plus Adaway makes it MX Player Pro.

Yeah, but MX Player can also access portable USB-HDD, so that make more sense on the tablet, to be honest. Archos Player have indexing problems on the TF300, for instance, every time I close the lid, or put it to rest, videos stored on the external media (SD, microSD and USB-HDD) are lost from the library and then added again, but when that happen, that's pretty much every time, bookmarked times are lost and resume time states are also lost, so it's not really that practical, with MX nothing like that happens.
So, again, it's beautiful, have a very useful network (LAN) content indexing tool to add remote stuff to your library, but it's not that practical, on the TF300T at least. But if you have a Media Center Android that doesn't unmount external media every time it's put to rest (idle), go for it, it'll be perfect actually.
Just a heads up, XBMC is already available for Android, not every hardware handles it yet, but once it spread it's wings, oh boy, we'll be in for a treat
And if you don't know XBMC, drop dead! (or read more about it at xbmc.org

Actually glad this thread is up.
Having some problems with my video playback.
I'm rooted and unlocked on stock rom JB 4.1 I picked up screen standby and mx player what seems to be going on, in both stock player and mx is that the video will randomly stop during playback. I don't understand why but I have to tap off screen to get it to playback or for mx it pauses randomly ao I just hit play again. But anyways have any remedies or insight on this?

Best way to convert movies for Note 2

Hey guys, I've recently been trying to figure out the best way to convert some of my movies for my Note 2. I've downloaded Handbrake and tested it out but I can't seem to figure out the best settings. I've also got DVDFab, ANYDVD HD, and a few others. So anyone with experience converting movies for use on the N2 please let me know what program & what settings you are using. What I'd really like to accomplish is to convert some of my Blu-Rays to the exact resolution of my screen.
Thanks in advance!!!

I'm wondering this as well. I see the phone will play some mkv files with h.264 but all players seem to not have audio with the exception of one (it was loaded with ads, forgot the name).
I used to have a free key for magic DVD ripper, but it stopped working.
I also tried handbrake but it never seemed to be able to sync audio with video.
Now I use DVD catalyst, which seems to make much larger files, but it works.
Auto gk is pretty good. I use it in conjunction with DVD fab decryptor, and DVD shrink in conjuction with DVD decryptor. There are a ton out there, and of you visit doom9(a video editing forum) there are plenty of guides. Good luck
Edit: mx player plays almost anything you throw at it, AMD vnc media player is great, but you have to sideload it after downloading from the net.

1080p MKV videos on Note 3

Just thought y'all might like to know-
Using MX Player along w/ custom codecs (to support DTS audio) the Note 3 is fully capable of playing these back with ease that is nothing short of astounding. I ripped an imax bluray to MKV, maintaining audio but compressing video a bit, and it plays completely without issue.

no need to load movies to the note 3 you can stream 1080p mkv with Qloud and a dual band router it works flawlessly
Sorry I didn't get back sooner but that's exactly the post I used. You need to unzip the archive to a location on the phone. Then point to it. I also enabled hw acceleration.
Streaming is great but something to be said for having a movie available without needing to have bandwidth for it or even a connection. With 96gb available on mine w/ 64 gig sd card, space not so much of a concern.

Got it thanks. I missed that part when I was forwarded to the website and had no idea which to choose. Awesome.
There are two ways for you to solve it
1.MX Player and the VLC Beta both work fine with .mkvs, you can download these player in your note 3
2. You can rip your MKV files to the note 3 supported format like .mp4

VLC is fine but for some reason it sucks battery like a depraved whore. MX is better but i used to like using the stock player on my Note 2 because it was battery friendly. Frustrating but at least i just use an alternative player.
As for Anime it has to be VLC or nothing, and even then there always some break up. For some reason the Japs like to encode there anime in 10-bit 720p MKV with dual audio (if available) and subs. I thought that the Note 3 would handle HD anime better but it's more or less the same problems. So it's down to waiting on further VLC development, i wish they get a move on as VLC hasn't really improved that much in 18 months and there still loads to improve on. it's only 80% there.
Great thanks
