[Q] DLNA confusion - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I see the sgs2 has AllShare which would appear to be able to send media to a DLNA server?
I want a box that I can stream photos/music to and it needs to play it through the TV. I was looking at the Western Digital TV Live hub media centre but then i figured an XBox360 would do the same thing and more anyone got any advice? both are below £200
Thanks

DLNA

How does DLNA work with the 2.1 update? My mates TV has DLNA capability and I have no idea how to connect to it. Both his TV and my phone are on the same LAN.
try imediashare from bianor.com , but free version has few limitations ....

DLNA and XBOX 360

Hey,
I am about to buy the Tablet S and have searched google for a while but haven't found any real world experiences with using the DLNA to XBOX.
Has anybody done this and what were the results?
Does the Tablet just come up as a media server on the XBOX?
Thanks!

In my experience the DLNA on the tab is client (incoming) not (server) outgoing. i.e music sever set up on laptop I can play song on tab, or from xbox i can stream from laptop.
BUT NOT from Tablet Itself. So unless theres a media server (or similar) app then not possible with standard software???
Chur
There are a number of DLNA server applications available on the Google Play Store which can be used to turn the Sony into a DLNA Media Server. I don't have an Xbox to test, but it should then appear.

Can your dlna tv see your phone? I dont have a dlna ready tv but, I have a PS3 and with the software "PS3 Media Server" running, I can see my i9300 on my PS3, thus I can access the videos in my phone over the PS3 via dlna. I think the setup is pretty straight forward, except you will be running your bubble app from your phone instead of a pc/laptop.

[Q] android tablet as a dlna server for nas

Hi all,
I have a network drive with my media library attached to the router (belkin 600 play). Also I have Xperia z tablet and dlna enabled Samsung TV. Router is not a dlna media server.
I need a player for android that can
1)see not just servers but all shares of the local network. (bs player can do this the way I would like to)
2) play all formats is "a must"
3) cast playback to TV (as a dlna server)
So as for now there are tons of players with different combinations of these features, but none combine them all. I wonder if bsplayer pro can play to TV, but not ready to pay 7$ to get Answer))))
Thanks
