Is this rom non-wipe?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

Does anyone know what changes or enhancements have been made with this rom version? Have they added the froyo-only audio features back into the music player? Performance enhancements? Bug fixes?

Do not flash this guys, I did and lost my capacitive buttons and it took me quite a while of searching to find a solution. But in the process I bricked my Player and I had to use Adam's bootloader recovery guide in combination with files from samfirmware.com to finally get my player back to normal again, but this is not something a new user can do.
So be very careful!!!

The US version is different from the rest of the world. Don't put roms intended for other regions on it, and vice versa. You should always do a bit of research before installing new roms, carefulness is indeed required!

I knew it would be different, but did not think it would disable the soft buttons.
I am just one of the many flash aholics here and could not resist LOL!!!!.
Good thing my experience flashing my phones and Adam's recovery guide and also some help on the samfimware.com forums helped me recover the player.

I also read that the 2.3.6 update fixes the zergrush exploit so using Super One Click to root it won't work.

so...have anyone (with yp-g70) tried pushing this? if so, did lose root access or having issues after?

Actually you probably should make it more clear as the Galaxy PLayers are still yp-g70. Per Samsungs website here, the Galaxy Player is a YP-G70.
I think we need to start designating whether ROMs are for the version with or without the capacitive/soft home key.

Well I do have the YP-G70 US version, it must be the fact the the rom is designed for the Korean YP-G70. Anyways I got mine working back to normal.

Just a question: for those of us that are rooted, is Odin/Heimdall the only way to get this update short of unrooting? Last I heard, Samsung Kies doesn't work too well (read, not at all) with rooted devices. Thanks.

Yes, you will lose root, but you can do it again with SuperOneClick. I installed this rom, but my camera and music player are not working.

I flashed this rom on my UK YP-G70 previously on 2.2.3 Froyo followed OP instructions. Everything went smoothly did a factory reset and wipe cache in recovery after flashing and everything works well including camera and music app. Market is missing though so I shall try find the latest market apk and see if I can install it.
---------- Post added at 03:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 PM ----------
Do not flash this, I was able to install the market, but I soon realised this firmware doesn't have the option to add a Google account and all Google applications are missing. I believe this ROM is for the China region hence a lot of option have been removed and is not suitable for other regions. Its a great shame because the ROM was very fast and battery life excellent. I am now going to flash 2.3.5

I'm going to test it out right now. someone else thought they had it also but the rom was messed up. ill give it a shot thank you for posting. i flashed my phone and so far all roms either use manilla which i don't like or have serious battery issues. ill post the results
Sticky this thread
ok flashed twice no problems getting to the settings after changing the item/theme, but the issue i am having is that its not showing me how many bars of service i have. sometimes it will appear for a quick second and go away again. im going to re download tomorrow and flash it again and post results.
either way this needs to be sticky !!

WOW That's Odd that your having this issue because I'm currently using this ROM on my Pure because I wanted to return to stock, and I haven't had any issues at all, My battery actually has improved and also I have noticed a great improvement in sound quality of media and ringtones.
Hope you get everything sorted out,...Im no pro but I did Clear Storage , remove my sim and SD card from the Device and Entered into Bootmode before I Updated to this ROM And I'm using 3.45.25.22 Radio for at&t and all seems to be well.
Can this ROM be used on an Unlocked TD2?
Im Not Sure
I'm not sure because I thought the TD2 is already unlocked, isn't it a non carrier branded device?
not sure....But you do know this is the ROM for the AT&T pure right?
Phone has Same internal Stuff but Different outer shell and Carrier Branded Software....But no trial crap.
I don't know about unlocking because I haven't unlocked my device yet.
@b14ck_h4wk: The newer rom builds have fixed the battery issues. It was a bug in several of the previous releases.
@jcamacho14: TD2 and Pure are the same device. This ROM is very custom to AT&T network and may not work properly with other carriers. This is not an official rom since it requires CustomRUU to flash
@DaveNavy: The TD2 can be bought unbranded and unlocked, or branded and locked via a Carrier. Depends. You can flash new roms without "unlocking" it. You just have to first flash with "HardSPL" which allows unofficial software to be flashed to your device.
I thought we already had reconstructed ROM dump of the AT&T WarHawk (Pure aka Diamond 2).
Yes, my device is non-carrier branded.
The thing is that my carrier are currently using the 850Mhz 3G Band, and the unlocked version only have 900/2100.
As I understand this a hardware issue, but I just wanted to test it with the software of the Pure which have the 850 band... Just to confimr by myself
Thanks....
Thanks again player911...

This is not a "Reconstructed" ROM if you read the post,...This is a Signed RUU
It is the an Official NBH of the "AT&T BRANDED PURE" sorry about using custom RUU but thats tho only way I know how to Flash a stand alone NBH to a device,...
The Reconstructed ROMS have Issues by the way,...Because the cooks wanted to add one or two little improvements that caused errors on their reconstructed versions,...for example MMS settings not being present on the handset, or LPCUST not working and a few others not to mention like media net not connecting like it should to update the weather,....
THIS NBH is really UNTOUCHED,...If you really want a stock version this is the way to go.
Not to sound like a jerk to the Senior member who answered all our questions
for us....But don't you think testing a ROM or Reading the NBH to see if it is Official or not is more appropriate before posting anything?,...This was not easy to get by any means!!! TRUST ME I WENT THREW ALOT TO GET IT.
I understand its being flashed with Custom RUU ...
But in the same token it is also a Signed RUU .NBH
P.S. TD2 and Warhawk Are in the Same Device Family However The Small changes cosmetically as well as in the hardware and software do make them a different device, Okay Has same Logic Board and chipset but wvga drivers are not the same and many differences between the two. No front facing camera,...and using TD2 software on the diamond shows when you press the video call button in the dialer,...It crashes. Also Terrible issues with Landscaping module.
In my experience using a TD2 Based ROM on my PURE/Warhawk I get bad battery life, Overheating from wi-fi use and GPS use,...as well as internet tether. Maybe thats just me but Im glad I have the ROM intended for my device back on it....its fast dependable battery life is great.

well in your opinion whats the best non manilla rom with no battery issues?
and also i re downloaded the rom flashed a few more times and still no luck with the 3g signal bars they would still flash 4 bars once in awhile but i could make calls browse the web fine it was just the picture of the bars giving me issues. and then actually about 4hours later they came on and stayed there.
Just for your information, Ruu_Signed.nhb is the file name for any ROM produced at any kitchen, all of them are named like that, doesn't matter the kitchen used, as well as the ones included in the official roms

he did take out the trial software so it actually is partially modified....
Based on the ROM and CE OS version numbers, this was probably a pre-release build of the ROM. I haven't done any flashing to my Pure yet, and after a hard reset, the actual shipped ROM and CE versions are as follows:
ROM version: 2.31.502.4 (66023) WWE
(D 2.31.66023 during bootup)
ROM date: 09/18/09
CE OS 5.2.21849 (Build 21849.5.0.63)
So while it may be an AT&T ROM, it's definitely not the one that was shipped with the Pure unfortunately.

From what I've gathered from the last few days of researching, there are some minor bugs with the rebuilg and more importantly, it's unsigned. It doesn't seem like there's a way to completely revert the Pure back to stock form quite yet.
No flashing for me until there is unfortunately...
I flashed this rom and it seems to work perfectly except for one thing. I cannot update the stocks using data. It will only update when I'm connected to wifi. All other programs work with data though.
UNTOUCHED!
Like I Said Untouched,....It doesnt Have Trial Version Software Because it is
a 2.06 ROM and Its not 2.31 With all the trial crap because I work for a unnamed US phone carrier aka the deathstar and I received my Pure for testing at the beginning of august so I have had mine for a couple months before you guys got yours,...So naturally my ROM is the Original WARHAWK 2.06 ROM
and after the trial crap was loaded to the device and was on the market for the general public as the "PURE"....Then it shipped with 2.31,....
This is however an original PURE/WARHAWK ROM Just not the One Shipped to the General Public On The Retail Release Date.

fix for that is as follows,....go to data connection and select setup
selected advanced,....select networks.....and on second scroll bar that says
Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using:
Change this from my ISP to MEdia Net and hit okay,...Then You will be able to update your stocks correctly.

Is kernal 2.6.36.3 with build #10 is rootable?

How to preserve my application if I move to factory set version?
My factory set version in #6 is it rootable?
Is kernal 2.6.36.3 with build #10 is rootable?
Currently unfortunately NO
If not possible is there any way to go back to build #9?
NO
How to preserve my application if I move to factory set version?
No chance .. but your "Google Backup" will install all apps again after factory reset
My factory set version in #6 is it rootable?
build#6 is rootable .. but with a factory reset you will not go back to an older kernel version.
I have the same build and
YES
my device is rooted
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using XDA
We should not base on kernel build version, just /log directory permissions.
Its checked in S.onyTablet.S tool - just run, choose no.1 option to ROOT,
and it will root your device IF ITS ROOTABLE. Easy. No need to check kernel version etc etc. If not rootable - you will now that with proper info in tool.

i'm also portuguese and i've just done the updates and i have something that altought not equal it may be similar.
the tablet i bought came with honey comb 3.1 and right after i power it i received a notification that a android update was available.
So today i updated the android to 3.2 and just after the update was all complete and booted i received another notification telling me that another system update was available.
But before i did the update i went to check the kernel version and android version in the settings and i had 3.2 and kernel #10.
So i did the second update and now i have 3.2.1 revision2 and a different kernel with the #5 after that.

It was true before ICS release : HC 3.1 -> HC 3.2 kernel 10 -> HC 3.2.1 kernel x (5, 8, 9...) -> HC 3.2.1 kernel 10.
Now I'm afraid you'll get the unrootable (for now) ICS without intermediate builds.
Custom Pre-rooted firmware now Unrooted. Will factory reset restore root?
Hi All,
I used the AIO tool to obtain root and everything worked perfectly... I played around for a few days and even built a few custom prerooted roms using the AIO tool .. all worked well.
This morning i installed the ICS version which condi had mentioned on his post ...after which i accidentally unrooted the device.
Will a factory reset restore root ? I don't want all the disabled services to autostart again on reinstalling the apps.
Look forward to your responses

[Q] [q] rooted than unrooted help?!?!?!

Hi guys i would like to know if anyone could please help me with this problem.
I'm new to rooting and flashing roms etc
I have Galaxy s2 gt-i9100 and i WAS on ICS when i decided to root it and go for the jelly bean update.
Long story short i done the rooting process fine using Zedomax rooting for s2 i9100, but i was at a loss of how to install the jelly bean , i could not find a proper tutorial anywhere and after a while of thinking i decided to UNROOT my phone , it worked fine using zedomax how to unroot galaxy s2 i9100( cannot post youtube link, as im new to forum) and i was back at stock 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
Now i am stuck with this , i cannot update via KIES or OTA .. I want to go back to ICS but cannot update at all .. I can see my only option maybe to root once again , than install ICS but i cannot find a proper 2.3.3 tutorial .
PLEASE HELP!! i'm new to this kind of stuff , and shouldn't have rooted it in the first place , was just so inpatient for Jellybean though

For Installing Jelly Bean you can use any XXLSJ based rom e.g Neatrom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569686
Omega Rom.

Or if you want return to stock just download the Stock rom from www.sammobile.com and flash it with ODIN. It will unroot your device too. :good:

I'm presuming that you still have a rooted phone with CWM recovery.
Download the Omega rom using torrents from http://kitchen.indieroms.net/blog/?page_id=980.
Copy it in your SD card.
Shutdown your device.
Boot to CWM Recovery pressing volume up, power button and home key simultaneously.
You will see something like this

You can follow similar process for installing other XXLSJ based roms, e.g NeatRom lite (Stock with removed bloatware), Neatrom FULL( complete stock) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569686.

How to install Modem on an AOSP/AOKP/Cyanogen Galaxy S-II i9100

Hello Gurus,
I am running RootBox 4.1 on my (international) Galaxy S-II i9100. The screenshot below explains most of the common queried specs and information.

Based on the information gathered , I have concluded that I am having problems with the currently installed modem which is XXLS8. The problems are either cutoff of voice from caller/receiver just within 10 seconds or receiving the call and then a call dropout all too often. It has given me enough troubles when critical calls were messed away due to this behavior.
I did install "GetRIL" to know and match RIL of the mobile to its installed modem to see if there is any difference but the problem remains the same.
According to whatever I was able to gather KH3 is a reliable modem with decent performance (there might be others but the opinions are varied and differ). As written in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656005
I have seen enough threads for getting the modems for S-II, however all of them say that these Clockwork Recovery Flashable ZIP files are only for Samsung Stock ROMs and would not work with any other AOKP/AOSP/Cyanogen based variant. I have checked these threads and places for getting the modem ZIP files.

I did download the KH3 ZIP file and tried flasing it in clockwork recovery menu, the file flashes OK, however whenever I turn the mobile, it shows no signal (at lease it was getting signals in the old LS8 modem). I tried running GetRIL to match the RIL with the newly flashed KH3 modem, however to no avail. Even on a restart then phone now shows "unknown" as baseband information in the system information screen.
I would really appreciate urgent help and guidance about how to flash any new working modem onto my device.
Thanks for all the reading and response.
Forget getril is not up to date and will always show ls8 ril. Kh3 is for gb firmware so dont use that. Try 4.1.2 modems only and only flash modem dont flash modem and ril or you will have problems.
Modem only =custom and stock
Modem/ril =stock only.
Forget getril dont use it.
Make sure you have a working efs bk up
Using ktool of playstore.
Well thanks for the advice. But where do I get and which one is the most stable modem generally for 4.1.2 and above.
Plus the question still remains, how to get modem flash files for non-stock or non-Samsung ROMs.
I did try flashing KH3 and KI4 modem ONLY, leaving the RIL as it is for LS8. However there are no network signals on the phone after that.
Some further practical help would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend XXLS9.Look at my sig.Flash via CWM.
Try the modems bundled with stock roms released by your carrier before you start messing around with modems released with roms by carriers in other countries (and only start flashing RIL's as a last resort).
Rationale being you'd expect your carrier has tested everything in the rom thoroughly before releasing it, including the modem - to ensure it offers good connectivity for most people who use their network most of the time & in most locations.
If you find you can't get good connectivity with any of those, then you start trying other modems.

Thanks for your support. I tried flashing XXLS9 (RIL was still LS8), however it made no difference with my carrier and calls are still being dropped in initial 5-10 sec of receiving or dialing a call.
Can you please guide me to some other collection of modems which can be flashed on a non-stock AOKP/Cynaogen ROM , I am running RootBox 4.1

In my country the carriers do not release modems (even for this contract branded) phones and usually they rely on the pre-installed modems which come with the stock ROMs. Plus my mobile is not a carrier branded set, its a stock un-carrier branded set bought off the market.
However I have tried my mobile with two different carriers and indeed the call dropping behavior is with one SIM 1 (Warid-PK) only, it works fine with the other SIM (Mobilink-PK). I did try making a call to SIM 1 help line to know if they prefer a specific modem version, unfortunately the customer support staff did not even had the slightest of the clue what the hell was I talking about (niether did I expect that they would know about it).
Anyways I would appreciate if someone can guide me to some other collection of Galaxy S2 i9100 (International) modems which can be flashed on a non-stock AOKP/Cynaogen ROM , I am running RootBox 4.1 (Android ver 4.2.2).
Thanks for your support.
You obviously didn't even read my PP. Whether you're running unbranded firmware or not is irrelevant. You look at the stock roms released by your carrier, you find out what the baseband is, and you look for that modem. I did also say to try modems bundled with stock roms released by other carriers in your country as well. It is simple to find out what either of these are, Samfirmware lists the baseband on every stock rom they have for download. From there you can then look for CWM flashable versions of these modems, or if you can't find one, download the rom & extract the modem.bin & flash it with Odin.
Re: collections of flashable modems, these are easily found with an XDA or Google search, no need for people here to post links for you when it will take you a few minutes tops to find these yourself.

[Q] HTC one AT&T Root

Hi guys, so I recently acquired the AT&T HTC one and it is on 4.1.2. Today I decided to root it because I wanted to get the 4.3 update. So what I did was followed a youtube video by QBKing and went through all the HTCdev.com steps and all. Installed TWRP and flashed SuperSu 1.25. This is where I stand currently. Now, I have never owned a HTC device before and I've been reading lot of things about S-ON/S-off and I feel like I somewhat have an idea of what its for. My question is Can I just install a stock 4.3 rom through twrp recovery with S-ON or can I even install Android Revolution HD rom based off 4.3 update with S-ON. Do I need to worry about it? I've read a lot of information today and just confused. I am a n00b since I'm switching over from iPhone. From where I stand (4.1.2 stock), how would I get to a stock 4.3 rom is basically what I want to know and what is required to get there.
Thanks in advance

Get s-off next ...later update's to the phone break the ability to get s-off so do that first.
Firmware update is not mandatory, but recommended (better touch driver for one thing, better radio too). On AT&T I recommend CleanRom 6. It's already Android 4.3 also and uses the AT&T 3.10.502.2_firmware. Get it here >> http://www.htc1guru.com
Use Revone and get S-Off first !!

So I attempted to get S-OFF and got stuck here. This is the error message that I get. I'm using ROM Toolbox Lite and following this video to get S-OFF. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4BWxtjaamM
I don't know where to go from here. I'm on build 1.26.502.15 and HBOOT 1.44.

so I went through all that, which basically ended up changing my build to .12 from .15. I have yet to attempt S-OFF again. However, I attempted to install apps from Play Store and I keep getting this error now. I can't install any apps. Any idea how to fix this. I've been googling but can't fix it.

Ignore it
Get S-off and then get back to updating to the current firmware and cleanrom 6
Edit: From the picture you have no sim card ?

Yeah I did remove my sim card while I was doing everything since I didn't want to be bothered with texts and call. Anyhow, I ended up flashing Android Revolution HD 22.0 ROM after i got my S-OFF(thanks to you). Excited about all the possibilities now. Thanks again!
