Hi,
I'm trying to get backtrack loaded on galaxy task 10 with pershoot's latest kernel and the script fails while trying to mount the loop device. I have searched all over the place and have found other people with the same or similar problems. I'm pretty sure the problem is that I do not have ext2 support on the kernel.
Does anyone know if one of the extra modules for pershoot's kernel will enable ext2 support?
I have included the error below in case anyone has any other ideas.

This hasn't been thoroughly tested as i'm on a Desire and have issues getting Ubuntu to start up due to some kernel issues regarding loopback devices but this should (Theoretically ) work.
If you'd like to test this out you have to first use the following tutorial

Then replace the ubuntu.img of that package with this... (I kept the .img named ubuntu.img so as to alleviate the need to modify the bootubuntu chroot script)

I've attached a file with the five scripts that you need to boot this .img. Do NOT download the package in the first thread as that is for ubuntu.
In short...
1. Create a folder on the root of your sdcard called ubuntu
2. Extract both scripts.rar and ubuntu.rar in that folder
3. Follow the tutorial as posted in the first thread that I linked.
Upon performing sh ./ubuntu.sh and bootubuntu with new ubuntu.img, i received the following:

I have consulted several how-to articles here and elsewhere, but after several hours of work I am still stuck on the final lines of code in the terminal emulator app that a YouTube tutorial suggested. I have tried two different installation methods. The first one focused on accessing the advanced shell through Windows Command Prompt. This didn't work because the prompt froze after I typed in "advanced shell" (several attempts brought same results) .
I then tried the "easy" version that involved the terminal emulator app in the place of the command prompt. Assumedly, if I can resolve this last issue without causing any more, I should be able to access Ubuntu through Android VNC. It may be important to note that the time before last when I typed in the above code, I got a different error code. That error read: losetup: /dev/loop1: no such device or address. I don't know what made it change.
I can provide further info if needed. Can anyone plz help?

Sorry, as far as I know there is currently no way to install Ubuntu on the Infuse 4G. But I'll be working on a rom for it and I'll contact you if it works.

OK. While you can't do it on the infuse. Ever. You could get the lg optimus g which once Ubuntu touch gets CDMA will get Ubuntu touch soon after!

I believe there is a kernel incompatibility...I've used faux's and clemsyn's kernels. Does anyone know if they support the loopback device, or do I have to compile my own kernel?

I just unlocked, rooted, and added the cyanogenmod to my phone.
But I can't seem to get backtrack to launch, and get the below errors:

I'd guess that the script they're using to start it isn't set up for the path storage is mounted to on the N10. I'd check myself, but it seems you need to download the whole thing to just get the script, and I"m not doing that.
If that's the case, it should be a pretty easy fix.

i've followed a tutorial when they said if we are an error at this step, it's certainly because OS can't support loop device, but i have have test and loop devices is supported...
