You can easily do it in UOT kitchen. You must upload framework.res and systemUI. http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/ Try to play with it (read some guides etc.), it is easy after a while. Or tell me which ROM you use and I can do it for you

That one is odexed, but I can try. Is black, 60% transparent OK or do you want 100% transparent..?
Edit:Uploaded the zip. I am not responsible for any damage, (have a backup). Flash in CWM.

Hm you might have to deodex the ROM first, but I am not sure. There are many themes out there you can try, for example the ICS theme by sonnysekhon. You can fin it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311069 download the "ICS_1.6.apk" and install it

It won't make the status bar transparent. Just a theme won't make it. Do you think you can my status bar transparent if I provide my files? I have heavy modded SystemUI.apk and framework res.apk, so, you can try not to overlay those mods?

Themes can make the status bar transparent. The one I linked to makes it around 40% transparent. The background for status bar is statusbar_background in systemUI.apk. Ofc I can try, send me the files here or PM me

I can if you know how to integrate/add files to your framework-res.apk. It cannot be done with MetaMorph tho.

Sure, there are several guides and HOWTOs on XDA (Chef Central, Desire Development...) on how to theme, repack, sign and everything. There are even several tools available that let you do all these steps in one swoop. I'm sorry but I can't guide you through all of that but if you have a will to do it, you will find a way through, of that I'm sure.

You have to decompile, edit and recompile classes.dex in services.jar. BTW it needs to be deodexed. It will be included in B 0.2.

first you have to deodex your rom, then use xultimate to apply the patch for the transparent statusbar and then it's just download a theme with a transparent status bar.. I previously used Meizu theme to achieve that hope it helps, sorry for my bad English

and explain how to do the program deodex and xultimate
To get a transparent status bar, you basically need to decompile framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk.
Then edit statusbar_background.9.png, make it transparent, recompile and push back to the phone. As long as the rom and launcher supports it, you'll have a transparent status bar!

first decompile the framework-res.apk and systemui.apk, then substituted statusbar_background.9 files for transparency, then use Option 8 with the two files and finally the option 9.
adw use wallpaper launcher hack with the option unchecked.

hi..this is my 1st mod mms.apk, it based on holo ICS 4.1 modified stock mms.apk..
i just modified a bit... next time will be more things changed color..
just want to share ^_^
if you like it, just download from link above then flash it to system/apk manually..
here is the steps :
1) extract the zip to your phone to get the "SecMms.apk".
2) paste it to /system/app.
3) remove or backup your stock SecMms.apk and its odex to .bak file (just rename it)
4) change permission of your new SecMms.apk to rw--r--r .
5) reboot

I'm running chuckybeans masterrom v7, with cwm recovery and cocore kernel v 5.6.2+
I tried to flash your secmms.apk as told, step by step.
Used ES File Explorer with root permissions to copy the file
Now, the problem is, that my device wont start... just shows the first screen with device model and so on
then it turns off again...
donwload and recovery mode are still functioning

You can always use the framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk from the S4TheWin ROM. It's transparent.
And for kitkat statusbar icons, you can take the SystemUI from any kitkat device, and just replace the icons in you own SystemUI drawable folder.
