Tweaky ROM v2 KL1 Fully odexed JKay Mod BLN Non Inc ring + many things :) - Galaxy S II Android Development

I present you my new Galaxy S 2 ROM.
It is fully odexed, and includes all features you might need, if you feel like if something is missing, just ask and i'll add it or create a separate cwm zip, if it is convenient. It's mainly a "well made stock rom", since appearance-wise it doesn't differ much, but there is quite some difference in performance and you've got many functions and things available. Please do give feedback if you try the rom, it helps a lot really. Enough talk, here goes main characteristics list:
Jkay Mod (thanks a lot for this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154278)
Non - inc ring (thanks for sources http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053436)
ICS transitions (thanks for this amazing port http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19256762&postcount=1)
Removed sms from call log (thanks for source http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1165659)
Mms.apk mod sent time instead of received, unlimited contacts, no sms to mms autoconvert (thanks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065452 for sources)
Sip enabled
Hacked camera (thanks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104051)
Cleaned /system of unuseful stuff
N.E.A.K kernel: therefore cwm etc... (thanks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411788)
Removed shut down prompt (thanks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261886)
Own OTA app (thanks http://code.google.com/p/yet-another-android-open-source-updater/). Don't try it yet, it'll give you errors since i haven't uploaded the file it uses to check for updates (i'll do that tomorrow with a few test optional patches you can test like ics keyboard or similar )
Roboto Fonts
Browser with bounce effects and more:/thanks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197496)
Modded services.odex for bln support for mms.apk (thanks https://github.com/neldar/backlight...atches/i9000-jvh/bln-i9000-jvh-services.patch)
Disabled noise reduction (thanks for sources http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332137)
Few more things...
Other thanks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132724 (extracting is quite different from sgs and also i used a template to avoid errors doing meta-inf myself)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208320 Helped me out with some files i was having trouble with
I know it does seem like i've put many thanks, but it's mainly because i don't want to be like many devs who just put two or three people on the thanks just so it loooks like they've done more work than they've done, i'm going to put everyone who might've helped even the slightest.
Installation:
Install from clockworkmod.
Wait for it to boot. Note, it might seem it gets into a bootloop, but it does boot up, just wait for it to boot
Download:
Tweaky ROM v1 2012 No Wipe (only providing no wipe edition, if you experience problems or want to wipe, you can do it manually in cwm):
Note, it might seem it gets into a bootloop, but it does boot up, just wait for it to boot. Will try to get this fixed for next version.

Nice to see you using NEAK. I think this kernel is going to overtake the others - Have you considered developing an OTA ROM Kitchen app?

Yeah i have considered it, took a look at it for the sgs version but never really finished with it, will probably try to get it working for the s2 rom soon though
Yup, at first i used void.charlie kernel which is awesome but development stopped and i saw this kernel which is amazing and i really like it, much better than the rest (except void, which is just as good).

Running very smooth for me mate. Nice and lite. It's good to have a new dev in town. I think a lot of users now are so accustomed to ROM Kitchens and one click. I personally rip apart the ROM zip and add and remove everything I need, however new content is always popping up, Themes, Tweaks, Kernels etc. It's just nice to have that option OTA in a kitchen
I have not experienced any issues with your ROM and will continue to support your work

I know it does seem like a small changelog, but it is quite a lot since it's pretty much re making the rom in another base.

You are making great progress. I am going to flash this now. I'm still testing battery level out on the previous release lol.
I have had no luck with KL1 ROMs so far but I will report back soon
I suggest you take a look at the CheckROM kitchen app and also nitr8 release of Nitrality which you can find on the market. I'm sure you know Wayne from SGS 1 - Very good apps to look at for ideas
Edit* Your download link in OP for V2 not a hyperlink because it is connected to other text.

People will catch on. As soon as you get some themes and screen shots up. Some people need to be encouraged. I see your ROM as a good ROM because I use it. Others have too many options and don't test as many I as do. If you have themes and an OTA app kitchen you will be on the right track to get the hard to please

HAHA
Welcome to S2 family.
I ve still got your Tweaky JVP on my wife's S1, battery life 4-5 days

Its good to see some touchwiz on Nexus one. I saw a thread on thochwiz launcher elsewhere on the forum but that one had lots of issues on N1. Good to see some new developers stopping by
Yeah, D2D, what with the hurry!?
I also read touchwiz had issues, and I actually installed the app and didn't like it. However, my friend got the SGS2 and it looks fantastic.
We'll see how things go.

As OP said its available in ROM manager for download though I agree its a pain. Direct multiupload link would be much better. That said, I just flashed the Rom and except for some touchwiz style icons this is exactly same as superOSR ROM. Just like superOSR it runs very smoothly. But unless the developer has some more plans for this Rom, I don't see a reason to flash this instead of superOSR.

I have some huge plans. Hopefully I can get the puzzle lockscreen to look correctly. Righr now looking at my N1, the puzzle lockscreen is extreamly off. Puzzle pieces are 50 pixles apart. So im going to try to fix that. But so far I got the Touchwiz Launcher (yes the iPhone-ish One) A new theme, My own version of JIT, And some new Espresso Bloatware like Netflix, Mozilla Firefox, Skype, Tmobile Theme chooser, And some new Indicators.

Right, I might have a little much on my plate, but I am proposing to make a new rom, called DarkforestMiX.
Why the name DarkforestMiX?
Because it will be a mix between CyanogenMod 7 (thanks FreeXperia) and the stock rom.
I have decided to initially base this ROM on CM framework (CM as the base) and so touchpads will work as they do in CyanogenMod 7.
Why "Darkforest" again?
Because, I am from The Darkforest Group, and I am a co-owner. I develop stuff for dfg because I like to
There will be four Darkforest Group roms for the Xperia Play:
DarkforestROM RC2: not to receive any more updates until ICS
DarkMIUI: updated weekly, will be available to download via DFR app (app not yet released)
DarkforestMiX GSM
DarkforestMiX CDMA
What I need from you:
A banner for the rom would be nice and a click on the thanks button too
I can't yet give you an ETA, but my CM and stock merge will be a selfkang (compiling cm myself, merging it myself)
More details to come soon

What are the rules for making a banner on this site? Dimensions, etc.? I'm assuming there's a thread on it somewhere here (I clicked the home button and am actively looking), but I haven't found it yet.
I think it would be better if you just keep working on DarkMIUI and improving DarkForestRom. Because I think that DarkForest is awesome but it sucks that you ain't updating it anymore...

[MOD][ICS]Honeycomb ripple lockscreen

Ok, this is my first attempt to give something back to the wonderfull community that is XDA, so please take it easy on me.
First things first, ALL credit goes to evilisto for the original mod and how-to. All I did was apply it to our 3D's and made it flashable. You can find his thread and how-to HERE.
This will make the lockscreen have three ripples instead of the regular one. Here is a video of my setup running AOKP:
The mod replaces your framework.jar and framework-res.apk, so if you have any custom edits, this will erase those. PLEASE make a backup of these two files or nandroid before flashing. You shouldn't have any trouble, but I have to say it just in case. As always I am NOT responsible for any damage you occur from flashing these.
Now since this relies on framework-res.apk, it will be different for almost every rom, or version of said rom. So far the ones I have done are:
JoelZ9614's latest AOKP rom: DOWNLOAD
JoelZ9614's latest CM9 rom: DOWNLOAD
aaronpoweruser's latest AOKP build from HERE: DOWNLOAD
toastcfh's newest CM9 build: DOWNLOAD
I cannot and will not post the link to the build(not mine to give). but you can always visit IRC and see.
So please tell me if things work or don't. and if there is another ICS build that you are using that I didn't list, let me know and I'll see if I can pump one out for you.
I really hate to bump my own thread, but I'm assuming the people that have tried this(if any) got it to work ok?

Depends on which version you have, can you upload your framework-res.apk, and framework.jar? That way I know it will work for you. And if you could tell me which build you are running.

[MOD][For i717 LE2/LF5/LF6 ROMS] -phMOD- (Beta2 6/5/2012) Adds most SGS3 "Stuff"
phMOD beta2 for ANY rooted and deodexed LE2/LF5/LF6-based i717 ROM
This will NOT work on the stock Official LF6 build that comes directly from AT&T -- rooted or otherwise.
This will NOT work on CM9, AOKP, or any other AOSP-based roms.
Download CWM flashable zip (277MB) from Dev-Host
MD5: a9734233737e12175cf0f39ff285472c
http://d-h.st/Ct6
What is phMOD?
For those custom ROM users who may have been considering a switch to a different ROM just to gain the SGS3 Touchwiz "stuff," I whipped up this small mod to make it easier to get all of the same functionality.
**If anything is missing or broken, tell me and I'll be glad to make another update!**
**The only thing that requires FJ's modded kernels (those with init.d support) is the higher-res ICS boot animation.**
**Please report back with the results on various roms so that I can add them to the tested list.**
Note: This is a BETA mod, so please be sure you have a nandroid backup handy in case I accidentally screwed something up.
Changelog
BETA2 (5 June 2012):
-- Added S-Note (Official)
-- Fixed S-Voice (different modded version with supporting files - seems to work much better! Thank you Mahmood!!!)
-- Added SGS3 Audio files (notifications, ringtones, alarms, ui)
-- Added SGS3 Live Wallpapers (DeepSea, LuminousDots)
-- Removed FJ-specific system files which "should" allow this to work on any i717 UCLE2 rom that uses FJ's modded kernel with init.d
-- Added EVEN MORE SEX APPEAL!!
BETA1 (25 May 2012):
-- SGS3 Touchwiz Launcher
-- S-Voice (Modded version to fix network error)
-- A few SGS3 Touchwiz widgets
-- Flipboard
-- Higher Res ICS Boot animation
-- Some minor debloating (Yellowpages and YPmobile)
-- More sex appeal
Instructions:
1. Flash the zip in CWM
2. Wipe caches (Cache + Dalvik)
3. Reboot System
**Thank you to every single genuine i717 ROM developer!!!!**
PS: This happens to be the very first time I've ever crafted a CWM script. It was cool to learn how and finally contribute something (albeit something VERY minor) to the community! As a former coder (15-20 years ago! Yikes!), this may have just inspired me to do even more... maybe... we'll see......smali scares me! lol
why did you do this when there is a rom that does the same thing

Because you shouldn't need to wipe everything, flash a full "ROM," and then have to reinstall everything just to get a few new apps and files that actually require nothing more than a much smaller flashable zip (aka a "MOD").
This add-on gives you all of the same functionality while allowing you to stick with your own ROM.
Thanks for the addon, it's nice to have a standalone package!
I am here to learn.
Well this add on makes sense IMO instead of flashing the same rom to get a add on !!! Good idea OP no we don't have to restart everything for it

Mine seems to be working, for now, but it looks like a lot of people on different phones are still having that problem -- even with the modded apk I included in this add-on.
I'll look into it some more and let you know what I find out asap!

It does seem kind of vindictive to point out a specific rom, and show how you can take the unique parts from that and put it into another rom. I realize these aren't massive changes so it doesn't really warrant a separate rom, but like I said, feels vindictive. Thanks for the addon though, it's nice to have a standalone package!
Edit: With quotes like...
"For those who may have been considering a switch to the OnlyOne "ROM""
and
"or, perhaps more accurately, this "Add-on" -- will give you everything you get in the OnlyOne "ROM.""
it just seems like you're publicly dogging the other rom creator

Since being "vindictive" was never my goal, I'll change the language around in an attempt to make it sound less harsh. Sorry about that!
EDIT: Done! Since I think I already succeeded in making my original point, I went ahead and removed those references in the OP.

can you do me a favor and check to make sure that my script properly deleted "voicetalk.apk" from your /system/app directory?
Good idea to make an add on. Not like the "other guy" who did almost the same thing, without giving credit though, and called it a "rom"

Because you shouldn't need to wipe everything, flash a full "ROM," and then have to reinstall everything just to get a few new apps and files that actually require nothing more than a much smaller flashable zip (aka a "MOD").
This add-on gives you all of the same functionality while allowing you to stick with FJ's actual ROM.

You could always just open the ROM's install zip, browse to the updater script and remove the delete entries for system and data. I know I have successfully done that in the past to alleviate a "heavy re-install session".
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT MAY HAPPEN FOR DOING SUCH!

You're right of course, that would work. In fact, that's essentially how I made this simple mod (with a little research to ensure I had working apk's and other support files)
Not many users want to mess with cwm zip files and scripts, though, so I did the whopping 10 minutes of work and testing for you!

Can you try wiping cache and dalvik, fix permissions (in cwm), then test the app again?
If that doesn't work, use TiBu to wipe data for the S-Voice 4.0 app, then try opening the app again.
Worst case, I'll make a beta2 to move svoice-signed.apk to /data -- which seems to have helped some people get it to work more consistently.
Let me know!

Youre out of line buddy! Almost reported your post, but we all make mistakes
OP: Thanks for coming up with this. With a little tweaking this could be real good. Just remember how many people were all like "I want the sg3 stuff" Now its here, and you get ridiculed... doesnt sound kosher. Thanks
Flashed, everything is smooth as butter except svoice. Constantly FC on me. Other than that its awesome.

By the way, if anyone wants to provide me with the framework-res and build.prop files from other UCLE2-based roms, I may be able to make versions of this mod that work for those as well. (doing so may require risky testing, so up-to-date nandroid backups are highly encouraged!)
If nobody provides those files, I may just go hunt them down myself -- but, I'd have to download all the other full roms and updates this weekend to do that, so it would be much faster just to upload those two files for me here.
EDIT: It may even work on other UCLE2 roms by removing those two files from the mod altogether. (I didn't do so originally because I really wasn't sure if they're necessary, and keeping them in doesn't seem to harm anything on FJ's ROM, so I thought it best to err on the side of caution and leave them in).
I'll get something out to test that theory later today!

Actually the 5.0 can supposedly run 4.0 roms (some of them anyway). There are just some issues with things like auto-rotation and the camera. But, if you don't want a brick, it would be wise to avoid flashing stuff for the 4.0.

I just successfully ported iChaos over to the 5.0!
I'll upload the build tomorrow.
LOL I don't understand the appeal of this ROM, but ok.

lol...im sry. Im a total noob and its the first ROM port i've ever done, and some others were asking if it was for the 5.0 also. So i thought I would give it to them. But yea you are right! What android user in his right mind would want an ios themed ROM? But then again it would be nice for an ios user that just switched to android!
Ok here's the build for the SGP 5.0 US (I havent tried any other versions). Its the original port and i havent had time to work on it much, so there are a few bugs. I wouldn't recommend using this for every day use until the bugs are worked out.
Known Issues:
No boot animation
Camera preview is jumbled up in video mode (might be camera apk) still pics are fine
CWM(don't boot into it unless you plan to flash a different ROM! Because you wont get out)
EDIT: I dont have time to test it right now, but i think CWM might be ok. After i went back to stock I still had the problem, so I would recommend flashing entropy's kernel if it gives you any trouble. The link is below.
Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445840
If you find anymore let me know! I should have time to work on it somemore this next week.
Its not just an ios themed launcher! It has ios apps, and the music app especially looks identical to ios.
Link: Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 US
Ok here's the second build. I fixed the boot animation and CWM works fine now. The only other thing that I know of is, the camera preview for taking videos is still jumbled.
Installation:
Flash Entropy's Kernel first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445840
Then flash iChaos: iChaos_vTB2_5.0.zip
