If you mean the Nook Tablet, then yes, there is the hardware for bluetooth, however, many files are missing from the system and it has not been activated.
That was something that I was going to look into more in the near future, but for now, we do not have bluetooth capabilities.

ahh
oh ok thaks for the quick reply aswell. i also have another question if u dont mind me asking.. i hear alot bout a "CM7". is that better then the root i have atm and is it possible to have that root and use CM7 at the same time?

CM7 is shorthand for Cyanogenmod version 7. It is a complete custom ROM that is available for many devices (but not the NT yet). As with any custom ROM, it is rooted by default.
What you want depends on what you want to use the device for. If you want a B&N device with extra functionality, routing is probably sufficient for you. If you want a fill-blown Android OS, the you'll probably want surging like CM.

People still call Android 'droid'?
Verizon's PR must have really stuck with people, which is what they're meant to do, but seriously, **** them for introducing the most annoying brand term I've ever had to hear.

How does this help the OP?
...and on that note...
Installing one of the many available launchers will help get you closer to the Android experience you are looking for.

Thanks and what launcher should I try to get? Is one better then the other or they all the same

I speak for myself here, and say that you need to try them all, to see which you like better. However if you rather take other peoples opinions instead, i suggest GO launcher.
It's themes are nice, easy customization (and a lot of it too) and it is very similar to my phones home screen so it was easy to get accustomed to it.
However a few peoples problem with GO launcher (and others like it) is that it's a Tablet and it should have a tablet like experience not a phone like one. So some people prefer the Honeycomb launcher as it is a very tablet like experience, though i do not like it myself.
As my personal motto when i go to try something, listen to other peoples thoughts and concerns, then try it myself and make my own decisions.
Here is what NT looks like with GO launcher, though that is a "custom" wallpaper (someone else made it as desktop wallpaper, i color shifted it and made it as a NT wallpaper).

Definitely avoid Honeycomb Launcher. It often force closes and while it may look ok aesthetically, it's really unpolished otherwise (most of what is seen is merely a placeholder or not fully functional).
GO Launcher is good in its simplicity, easy theming, and downloadable widgets and lockscreen. In customization however, I feel that it falls a bit short of my expectations.
I personally use ADW Launcher EX (1.3.3, an older version). It's extremely customizable and besides a few things here and there, your only limit is your imagination.
My current setup may be a bit over your head at the moment, but just to show you, you can check it out here.
Good luck with your tablet. Forums are always here for questions and advice.

thank you all so much the threads been a real help. im atm running adw launcher and it seems to be what i was looking for. i do run into alot of the gapps force close but idk if thats cause of the launcher. also i was wondering if anyone had this issue too, i download a app (stupid zombies) and its downloaded onto the device, but when i say move to sd card the app disappears and when i try and move it back it says "not enough memory to move to device" or something like that. is there anyway to fix that issue?

I'm guessing this has to do with parts of the Google framework missing. Is there a reason you want to move stuff to the SD card? Apps are installed to the B&N partition, so you have somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 GB to install apps.

so when you download apps from the android market they go to the storage for B&N? i was thinking this whole time i had bout 1g of memory so i went out and bought a 32gig memory card and wanted to move them there so i didnt use up all my tablet memory.

That's the whole thing... what kind of ROM would you be able to run?
No Dev here is gonna take the time to port a 2.1 ROM over. But interesting nonetheless.
I don't think it is real. At least the OS isn't Android. Take a look at the screenshots. You can clearly see that it isn't the stock 1.6 Android, but more likely a chinese copy of it. It is a very good copy indeed, but mostly the top bar, the bottom page indicators on the homescreen what makes me think it is a fake.
Those indicators are not native to 1.6. I agree that it is probably a fake. However I didn't bother to read the 66 reviews on it.

What can I use the Lapdock for, now that I am on CMx?

The good old Smiley, to make the reading happier:
I am looking for suggestions.
What could I use my Lapdock for, now that I made the switch to CyanogenMod?
Is there a good solution for making the VNC'ed ARM Ubuntu (look for Ubuntu Installer in the Play Store) work better with the touchpad? Should I sell it? Is there a solution to make remote control apps such as TeamViewer or Splashtop integrate with the Lapdock's keyboard and touchpad? Is there any way to make the device switch to Tablet mode without rebooting? That would be rather interesting to see. By the way, the CM9 ROM I am currently running has got Landscape HDMI working flawlessly, so that should not be an issue...
PS: Please do not ignore this thread. Any suggestions are welcome! (Use your common sense though)

I've struggled with the same question on my photon.. If there's working hdmi rotation on your CM, you can still use it for typing out documents, etc. I also used the mirror mode to watch movies on a larger(than phone) screen in bed.
But eventually I just decided to go back to a blur rom and use ubuntop (which is awesome) while waiting for official ICS and someone hopefully porting ubuntu 12.04 to webtop..

I don't understand why canonical hasn't leaked that awesome ubuntudroid system they showed off.. there isn't an easier way to get feedback especially since webtop has died and windows 8 is pushing hard into that whole 'blur the lines' market

Maybe they are waiting for the unified linux/android kernel 3.4 this would most certainly make it easier to port and updates trivial.

Currently, I use it for watching movies as well, and I am looking forward to pairing a Wii Remote and/or a DualShock® 3 to my Atrix™, so that I can play some games such as GTA III and Shadowgun (Max Payne *-*) on the big screen.
I was happy with Blur until the day I ran into that tempting CM9 thread. I did not know what smoothness and responsiveness really were. Blur was the smoothest I thought it could ever get... But I was wrong, and now I have to choose between fluidity and Webtop.
I actually went back to Blur some months ago, but unfortunately, prolonged use of ICS can cause dependence. Believe it or not, I was pretty happy with Blur. Webtop was working flawlessly, I even had BackTrack installed, but then came the relapse: I could no longer resist to ICS. I am now back to CM9, and with it comes my dilemma...
I am looking for a way to use the Atrix™ as a more desktop-ish platform when docked (especially to the Lapdock). I believe the ideal would be Ubuntu through a local VNC client, or a remote desktop app, I just wish they would play nicer with the keyboard and touchpad...
Basically, something like a key mapper (easy-to-use, I am still unable to figure out WiiMoteController's key mapping scheme) for Lapdock's hardware. We could make a keyboard-powered Ouya!
What still concerns me though, is that games would not be optimized for it e.g. Minecraft PE, games where the camera angle for example, is controlled by dragging the screen, so it would have to be a really powerful, but easy-to-use key mapper, and since you can't have everything in life, I'm afraid I'm asking for much...

When the official Ubuntu for Android was announced, even though an Atrix 2 was used for the hands-on part, on the project's official hotsite... It was clearly an Atrix™ 4G standing there on the dock. The differences between our device's design and the Atrix 2's or the Defy's (Defy+'s) are not that obvious, but they are, indeed, noticeable.
You do know what that means, don't you? It means it is almost certain that our device will be on the first batch of officially supported devices!
I don't if the Atrix™ is still there, but if it's not, I can try to find the screenshot I took if you'd like.
I am so proud!

I have never thought I'd say this but, "Please don't get off-topic". I'd appreciate it if this gets settled in a new thread or via PM.
Anyway, you said "stock UbunTop", I could be wrong, but I think it's either stock or UbunTop, which is a mod born right here on our neighbor forum, Android Development.
If yours is really stock, I suggest you get BackTrack from the BackTop project, I don't it's got aircrack built-in, and I was unable to install it, so unless you're an experienced hacker, don't get too excited with BackTrack's features, but my point is: It is amazingly faster than Webtop, it seems lighter, I used to be able to run more than 3 different apps simultaneously...
If yours is really running UbunTop I'm afraid I cannot assist you, since webtop2sd never worked for me and BackTop and WebtopMOD were the only I could ever manage to get working on my device...

I can answer this. What he meant is that you should use Paranoid. Paranoid is a rom thats an hybrid of a phone an a tablet, in short words, you can activate tablet mode for some apps, while some other apps still run in phone-mode, for the ease of use.
What I actually meant was to give a name and a designation, which I did.
Google paranoid android rom and you get the website, the website has a much better explanation then I could or should have to provide.
But yes in short it can give you a tablet UI on lapdock.

Actually, part of why people like Paranoid Android so much is because of the ability to not only change modes (tablet, phablet, phone), but also set per-application DPI, size, and modes to change how each fragment operates.
Example: Youtube uses two modes (phone/tablet), and I like the phone mode better. But, I can't use it. Even restoring a phone APK of Youtube results in the tablet UI. PA lets you define Youtube and make it act like a phone!
That kind of flexibility is very powerful, and useful until we get powerful, properly built tablet apps with all of the features we desire. A lot of work? Sure. Possibly worth it? Definitely.

like what Akkeresu said below, it's not only the ability to change modes(although that's what I want most). And plus, who says I wanted tablet mode since I already have it? -.- I want it to look and feel like a Nexus 7. Which is only possible with this ROM as far as I know.

Actually no. The developer of PA quoted this, "no, but someone else can. if you have cm10 you can have pa aswell. it would run right away, theres barely any adjustments to make on our side and aosp is the same on any device anyway, no matter if phone or tablet." So yeah, he said it doesn't really need much tweaking from their side. Just hope someone can just help out to make this happen..:good:

I can do this quite easily as already have done it once for the prime.
The thing is I really don't have the time to keep remaking it constantly and re uploading new nightlies so if you wait a bit longer for some of the bugs to be ironed out I will knock one up but then I will only make a new one once a month or so.

I 've been looking for a way to get the Nexus 10 UI on my TF201 for like a week. Ofcourse I ended up nowhere. I can get all but the <back> <home> <app switcher> buttons to get in the middle of the bottom, and the rest of the status bar on the top. So during my search i came across the capabilities of the PA Rom. Sadly, I then discovered that the rom is not available for the TF201. Was ready to post in the Q&A section for "how to get the nexus 10 UI on the tf201" but figured i 'd take a look at this thread, and just saw your comment.
so.. in a nutshell, unless you can point me to the right direction (another direction; a way to get the Nexus 10 UI on the TF201) i 'm bumping the request posed with this thread, and ofcourse thanks for your willingness to develop!:good:

[Q] What is the most stable CM?

I am looking into getting a tablet for a 5 year old and wanted to put android on specifically for just games.
What is the best and most stable rom for this? Thanks
As of 12-13-2012 CM7 is considered (tested) to be the most stable and complete CM that has been made for the nook tablet
Unfortunately this is an opinion thread and the mods hate it. With that said CM7 is (was) the most stable however CM10 has come a LONG way. I'm using the 11-26 and 11-28 SD card CM10 versions provided by Succulent at iamafanof.WordPress. com. Other than battery life not as good as stock I have no issues.
Prior to that I was using his CM7 SD card builds with no problems.
The EMMC versions are preferred by many I happen to like SD for ease of reverting to stock if needed.

I would say. I am not trying to hijack as I think this might be pertinent to the op's question if he is as much of a noob at this as I am. For a noob is it really advisable to go with these or should a newer Rooter stay with just like the 4.7 root? Because if he is like me I won't know how to maintain if something goes wrong. Thanks
If you run a couple of diffrent ROMS from sd you can get a feel for them. How they work, stability, battery life...
I'm having great battery life from the CM10 version I'm running from sd at the moment. Tomorrow I might change to another one just for fun. Maybe it's better, maybe it's worse. But because it's on sd I can experiment to my heart's content without taking any risks at all!

I advise anyone to do a LOT of reading before trying to root any Android device for the first time. There is a lot to understand and even more that could go wrong if you're not careful.

I would agree but with the imense size of this forum where do I start? I figured I would start with the moding threads and alot of them sound simple at the beginning and then the replies speak of problems and fixes that when you get done you wonder if the problems got fixed or not. Also is there like an acronym list? Myself and probably alot of other noobs don't know them and what they mean. Let me know OP if you want me to start a different thread on this.
Pm me if you run into acronyms you don't get. Easiest place to start would be the How To Root threads, and those about returning to stock. If there's something you don't understand right away, open another browser window and search for the term(s).
It is definitely recommended to read any beginners guides out there. Preferably those relating to the device you have, as they'll be the most relevant to you, but there are some general guides in the overall Android forum and subforums that will still be useful.
From there, ask yourself what you want to accomplish with your device. Are you content with the appearance as is, or do you want to change that? Are you just looking to install additional programs or do you want to write them? Any questions you can think of, make a list and prioritize that. Then start from the top and search for your answers or direction, asking questions where needed (especially if the info you find seems out of date, though lots of questions you'll find have already been asked and answered). Don't be afraid to say you don't understand something or to ask for additional info. Those who are willing to help will gladly do so if you seem like you've done some research beforehand.
Feel free to PM me any time, or hit me up on gchat. I'm always willing to help out if I can.

Verify the actual device you have before doing ANYTHING! Then go to the correct forum. Color and Tablet look the same but are 2 different animals with different methods to get things done.
I have a Google Nexus Galaxy NOOK Color Tablet HD + running the Windows 3.11 version of the Linux iOS. I'm trying to put the CyanogenmodKindleAppleWindowsPlay Store on the Skydrive in my device. My problem is that my laser disc won't fit into the 5 1/4 inch floppy disk drive on my device. This is the right forum for this, right?
EDIT: Sorry, just felt is was necessary for a laugh.

I suspect the poster refers to the 4_7 version of the root zip in the "Albert Wertz method". That is indeed for the Tablet. I have used it myself a couple of times. Whether it is the latest/best/whatever I do not know. But I'm sure a couple of days of reading up can help any new Tablet owners (and I suspect there are MANY after the recent great deals from BN!) make informed decisions on what route to choose.
(And I did laugh at the post above mine! )
Honestly, the SG7 rom is nice, I haven't tried either 4.2 ROMS yet, but they should be reasonably stable for games
Although battery life would be better from SG7
Also, use a file browser to remove the OTA Updater because the updates wipe GApps...

Themer is just another fancy Launcher - what a disappointment !!

Hi guys,
Just wanted to make sure i am not wrong, after playing with Launcher on my SGS 3 i came to the conclusion that it's just another Launcher.
I was expecting it to change all the phones themes including dial phone book and so forth, it was a big disappointment especially after waiting 7 days for it to open for the first time.
am i wrong, or what ?
thanks

This is your opinion!
But let's be honest to get your hopes up that high to think an app that don't need root permission can change the look/theme of your whole phone. I think that's the disappointing thing.
If you don't like why not just uninstall job done.
I don't get the point in putting down the app due to your own ignorance. I mean why not take your know how and be the creator of an app that does all that you want it to without root. What's that you can't! That right to do all the things you want you would need root.
I'm sick of seeing posts like this no one say you have to use this or any other app.
Get over it! Uninstall! And walk away!

Sounds like the OP just didn't read the description of what Themer is before installing it.

Calm down. There's no need to get upset over a simple question. OP obviously hadn't understood what the app was for. You could have just answered him politely or ignored the thread. He was only asking a question.

Such an app would require root. Seeing as probably a minority root their phones and mess around with it, I don't think it would be with MyColourScreen's time to produce such an app if they wanted to theme everything. Too much code, too many zips to flash, too much theming in general and whatnot.
This app is good for people that want a good luck on their phone. That being said, half the themes on the themer catalogue looks like crap. A lot of it isn't really special in too many ways. Most of them are just cheap with wallpaper doing too much of the work and not the actual feeling of cleanliness. I also don't find these themes to be functional at all in anyway but you either have simplicity or functionality. It's pretty difficult to have both and that, my friends, is why Aviate launcher exists. :good:
Just my 2 cents.
OP: if you want to try the launcher but don't have it currently installed, I can give you a code for it. PM me if you want it. :highfive:

I can understand where you are coming from, I was let down as well...not so much of the things you are opinionating about. What you are asking will require root It is impossible to change dialers and such without a root. Even with root, will be hard to do unless you are running themer found on CM/AOkP and things of that nature.
I personally expected better themes...I knew themer limitation, just didn't think it will be so limited in themes. But hey, it is just beta
im actually looking forward to the time when "My Colorscreen" type themes are available on Themer. Currently everything is a bit simple - not really my taste. I check new themes every few days and a bit underwhelmed.
Again - it is a beta.

I totally agree
themer actually is good for those looking for laucher with simplicity in mind. I do enjoyed changing the themes everyday if i feel bored. The customization options have been added from times to time. Since this is BETA, it will changes periodically. Nothing much should you expected from the BETA release. If it's doesn't suit you then go for others final release
I see that there's some fighting here... I'll tell my opinion about Themer then hehe...
It's just another launcher? Yes it is! However it's an innovative, yet simple, launcher, which requires you one click to have a completely reborn homescreen. I downloaded it with higher expectations, so indeed I got disappointed, but I believe with more time more themes will come and one will really attend my necessities. Also I really like to customize my things, so using Themer limited it, as I wasn't able to change anything after installed the theme, all I could do was select a new one.
I have a fully customized 5 screen HS on my S4 using NOVA, why did I do this? Simple: I enjoy doing this. Although I know that there are many people out there who says Android is difficult to use/manage, what I saw is that most of them get "scared" of the homescreen, Themer is a great option for those people, click here and there, done it's simple and the way I can use without any problems .
I still see a WIP though, I am not following it too much to tell further, but I imagine it's not complete, one thing that made me stop using a theme that I liked (other than I preferring my current NOVA customization) was that when you try sliding to the extreme while on the last page will happen just like a normal launcher, the same with the app drawer, it's not customized like it is in the homescreen. I used plenty themes, they were all beautifully designed, but this app drawer thing got me in my nerves , sure, I have the same app drawer in my NOVA Launcher, but I customized my homescreen in a way that it still fits!
My 2¢ to this discussion...
And @predatorftp I'll speak again what everyone already said: What you're wanting requires root access and I think the developer isn't interested in losing a huge part of it's users because of it. Maybe someday they can add a special root feature, but for now I believe they are still busy with the developing of app basis.
tl;dr:
Pros:
Simple and beautiful, anyone can use.
Cons:
Limited functionality, themes "half-baked".
Opinion:
I prefer customizing, so I go for customizable launcher for sure.
The app description on Google clearly states what the app is...
As that threads like this will only bring flaming
