WWF force closes? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

All of a sudden (in the last 2 days) Words With Friends has started to force close every time I open it. No recent system changes and uninstall/reinstall didn't help. Anyone else having this issue and any ideas? Thanks.
EDIT: Seeing this issue appear on a number of Android boards.

I am having this issue too, resorted to use my phone. And clueless on the FC.

Force Close on Words with Friends
Same thing happening to me.
Ever since 12/31 my Words with Friends "Force Closes" anywhere from 10 seconds to 1 minute.
I have a Xoom (Android Platform 3.2.1)
I've reinstalled WWF several times, rebooted the Xoom inbetween installs. It just won't work or update.
I noticed one thread saying an update was done on the WWF the day before. I'm hoping that the developer pays attention! I miss my WWF.

mine has been doing the same since new years. Its the Y2K+12 bug!

I skirt the issue by running version 3.51 of WWF. Doesn't rotate but it WORKS! Just google search words with friends APK
Did uninstall current version and then installed the older one.

[Q] Microsoft Facebook App

I've been using the Facebook App from Microsoft Marketplace for a long while now, we're talking a good 8 months or so.
A couple of weeks ago it just stopped working. It will open but it won't refresh any statuses or anything.
I have flashed my phone with the newest NRG Rom but it still doesn't update. To update it, I literally need to log out and then back in to Facebook.
Any advise, ideas or suggestions.....
Exactly the same problem here! Anybody a clue?
This problem / situation is bean mentioned several times now.
This problem is caused on some updates that Facebook have been done, and it caused problems on our device.
Solution: ???? waiting to it will be fixed we have seen simulative problem in the past with tweeter
Suggestion; us the the internet page. www. Facebook.com
Thread moved to Q&A.
I know that there was a problem with Twitter, but that's all sorted now.
Fingers crossed Facebook will pull their fingers out and get it sorted.
The strange thing is that if you log out and then log back in, it works again. But every time you load the application again, you have to log out and back in. Annoying but the closest thing to a solution.
Also what's the probability that it will get fixed with WP7S out so soon?
Its not looking too good.......
this problem is weeks old and hasnt even been mentioned in an official capacity afaik.....
Probably an MS conspiracy to have all the facebook junkies rushing to the store for a brand new wp7 handset.............

Oh that would be hilarious, for Facebook to update their site so WP7 is no longer compatible
New Facebook App available, but after update program doesn't start
It seems that the problem was fixed and a new version is available through Microsoft Marketplace. I've successfully installed it, but then it doesn't start. Error message just says "Facebook could not be started".
It installs not into \Windows, so there are still files from the old version (from the ROM) available. I suspect there is a conflict with these older files.
Any way to get this fixed?
Thanks
Holger

[Q] Facebook authentication failed

Hi, i have a problem with Facebook app. When i tired sign in i get information: "Facebook authentication failed". Sometimes i see some "Need Feed", and shows this error. Sometimes too i get [104/Incorrect signature] error. How can I fix it?
Thank you in advance.

Same problem with the same phone,i'm using cyanogenmod 7.1 though. Have you managed to solve the issue since then?
The problem solved itself after a few hours. I change FB app version, change ROM, but it did not help.
have the same issue on my sgs....any suggestions?
Also have this issue on SGS2, worked fine untill 2 days ago... now I constantly receive errors from the latter versions of the application. (Authentication failure, certificate missing, signature failure)
I've gone back to version 1.7.2 (Current is 1.8.1) by downloading it through Aptoide, although it rolls back on a few features... a few working features is better than lots of unworkable features!
Note: This seems to be account specific... I can login to other accounts using version 1.8.1, just not my own. (I have tried many other methods of getting the latest version to work with my account, even as far as slamming my phone through Odin a few times)
damn it my phone has been doing this all day ive tried everything.
I started having this problem since Monday. Apparently this bug for the Facebook app has been around for years but there has yet to be a fix. Seriously need a miracle right now. Anybody have any suggestions?
Reseting phone?
*288?
Has anybody heard of this?
I have also had this problem on my Inspire 4g running Blackout ICS Incredible v3.0.0. Has anyone found a solution yet, or is it a glitch embedded within the app itself?

[Q] ICS Browser issues?

Hey guys,
I've been running AOKP ICS (M3) on my GTab 10.1 WiFi for the last few days with flawless performance and very few issues. However, I am experiencing problems in the stock browser. After, several minutes of surfing, the browser becomes very laggy. Soon after pages fail to load and hang around 10%. At this point the browser is unusable. The problem persists until I close the browser and force close it. Has any one else experienced this issue on ICS? Any fixes?
Note: I have tried all of the obvious fixes like wiping cache, data, reinstalling from, etc.
Thanks!

It seems to happen on image and java intensive sites for me. I found using an ad blocker fixed most of the freezes. Other than that i think we will just have to wait for an update. (aircanada. Com crashes the browser on every visit)
Yeah memory intensive sites tend to cause this. I just installed an ad blocker, I'll see if it helps. Thanks for the advice!
I'm pretty sure once everything with tegra 2 gets sorted out completely, it'll work fine.
Same problem here
ics is more smooth than honeycomb, I don't want to flash back because of this glitch.
I have installed the ads blocker before but problem still
anyone have the solution ?
Guys, a bit OT maybe, but seems like a good place to ask
I was also trying this ICS build yesterday and loved what I saw, but there were two main problems that are deal-breakers for me at the moment:
- I can't subsribe to any Google services (gmail, reader, market), because there's no way to sync google account as as actual "google account",
- because of above, I can't install - from the android.market.com - apps that I already had, because it says I already have them installed; I have to look around the web for .apk-s and install manually
Did you also had those problems? Is it the same for every ICS build out there? Will this be fixed for the final Cyanogenmod9 release?
For the time being, I'll stay on GalaxyTask 13...
Well, the ad blocker definitley seems to help and my issues with the browser are far less frequent.
@antic604
I would do a full wipe, then install the latest version and don't forget to flash gapps afterward.
Try setting pluggins to on demand.
Same thing here on my asus prime, even if my plugin is on demand. I didn't have this issue on my prev asus. I'm very disappointed. This OS is just like a beta version. So the prime with ics is very bad value for the money. I don't know what to do, sell it or wipe and load a new rom :-/

Yeah I have the exact same problem.
I use Chrome Beta whenever the Stock browser becomes laggy and hangs, it's very annoying.
This problem I have and the face .avi files get deleted, I have placed a fair few series on my Tab and wanted to access some and half of them were gone.
This happened a few times already.

Error - Application Already Exists when updating Market apps

It seems that many, if not all, of the apps I try to 'update' in the Android market generates an error on the Prime that says 'Application already exists' in the menu bar with an ! icon. This is annoying... I can uninstall / reinstall the app to get an update, but whenever I just click update in the Market, I get this error a lot.
Of course the application already exists! I'm updating it. Stupid Prime.
Does anyone have a fix for this? I searched the forum and didn't see anyone mention this annoying problem.
Are you getting system reboots?
Rumour has it the system reboots are a result of a failure while optimizing apps for ICS during the upgrade process.
Sounds like perhaps your OSs view of your apps is a little messed up...

No. Actually, I seem to have the least amount of problems with the Prime compared to most on the forum. Really, this issue and the weak GPS signal are the only ones I've had. Well, and the decreased wifi bandwidth when streaming bluetooth. But everything else generally runs smooth.
Two apps for example that I had this issue with... updating Google Voice and eTrade. Both of those for sure gave me the error that the app already existed. Uninstalling and reinstalling worked fine to grab the latest version.
Actually, I take that back. Sometimes when I do an uninstall / reinstall, it still says there is an update available.

Unfortunately I have the same issue. I haven't found a good way to work around it yet. As you have found sometimes uninstalling works and sometimes not.
Sometimes uninstalling it, rebooting the Prime, then reinstalling it works. Although, that's still sometimes as far as I can tell.
I've just started getting this issue when trying to update Officesuite Pro, first time it's happened.
Oddly enough when first typing this reply my Prime locked up and rebooted itself, which it's not done before.
Never had a reboot under ICS, at least not yet. But quite frequently have this problem. So I guess there is no correlation between the two.
The only anomalies that I experience are Skype or Talk video calls that suddenly die. No FC or any other message, Skype or Talk just exit.
I bet these types of problems will go away with a root and a custom rom in the future. Wish Asus would release the bootloader unlocking tool already!
Try clearing the dalvik cache?

Can you do that on a non-rooted Prime? I'm just waiting for the official unlock tool to go through that process.
This has happened to me on select apps too. Particularly xe app and officesuite pro. Can't seam to update them to the current version no matter what I do. Unistall/reinstall, clear delvik, and clear market data hasn't worked for me

Yeah... right now for me, it's Google Voice. And the worst part is, you can't get it to stop saying it's updating the market app even though it stops almost immediately. Annoying.
I get this sometimes, but I press update again and it updates fine

Random reboot is a normal way of life with android. A reboot here or there is nothing to worry about. Most of the time its from a bad app you installed. Now if you rebooting several times a day, then that's a problem. Its actually good to reboot or at least power down n then back on device every once in a while. It'll give device a fresh start on RAM and clear any mishaps that may have or could occur. Same deal with Ipad. They recommend rebooting every now n then for a fresh start and to have more ram available for use.
I haven't had this happen on my Prime, but I was having this same issue today on my Sprint GSII.
Not sure if this is a work around, but it just worked for me. Instead of updating the app from the 'my apps' section of the market, I went to the page in the market with the full app description. I clicked the update link there and it installed fine. I'll have to test this theory out more.
i too am facing similar probs. while updating WhatsApp and Skype too it shows that the application is already existing.
pls. note. both WhatsApp and Skype are under different Accounts
can this cause a prob that previously i would have installed it by 1 account and later on by another account when i changed the phone ?
pls. guide.

All apps crashing simultaneously on MIUI

Hey there,
I have had this bug since I first officially updated MIUI when I got this phone (ie. first day). Right now I am running MIUI 9 Global Stable 9.0.3.0 (also updated through OTA) which I believed would fix these issues which started occurring since MIUI 8 .
I have tried factory reset (yesterday), without any success (Happened today morning).
It's not exactly reproducible manually, however it happens every morning (which is even more weird) or at least once every day.
Here's what happens:
1: Chrome stops loading web pages. The new tab page is changed to a complete white blank. If you wait for long enough, chrome crashes.
2: Screenshots stop working. Three finger swipe doesn't work, and from the notification shade, the output pic is a black screen. Hence I cannot provide screenshots.
3: Notification tone and Ringtone selection do not play (i.e preview) sounds, rather display a message "Could not connect to the internet".
4: YouTube loads data fine until video playback, at which it crashes after some time.
5: Messaging apps (such as whatsapp, hike) cannot send message anymore, however in some cases can receive messages.
5: Other apps such as facebook, instagram etc also crash and don't load content and crash.
The only fix is to reboot the device. Which is fine, however, it gets rather annoying that it happens every single day.
If anyone has any advice for a fix, I'd be very thankful.
were you able to find some sort of solution to all these problems?
i am having the exact same issue(s) and have looked it up all over the net but still couldnt find anything relevant.
Download official rom from en.miui.com
Place the zip in internal or sd
Open updater and update by zip.
Tht should fix it
If even tht didn't do it the you'll have to unlock bootloader and install a custom rom
P. S even oero custom roms are available
updated through miui updater but the issues still remained.
one thing i noticed is that if u keep on using the phone when app starts to crash without rebooting then after a while systemui has stopped comes up.
more importantly most of these issues appeared while using hike.
i uninstalled hike to see if a third party app could be interefering with the background processes and voila!
no hangups/app crashes/network problems for 2 days straight.
thanks anyways.
Yep, uninstalling hike fixed the problem for me.
Pretty weird how hike can crash miui haha
The same problem
Hello, guys! I have the same problem and it's annoying. What is hike? Where I can find it? Did you mean "hike: payments" from Play market?

hike is a messenger similar to Whatsapp. If you don't have it installed, your problem is different from ours, which was fixed by uninstalling hike.
