[Q] Touch screen problems in Browser - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

The close tab "x" in the stock browser is not working most of the time when in landscape orientation. I have to turn the tablet to portrait orientation to be able to close the tab.
I installed multitouch test apps and they are able to track my fingertips over the entire display perfectly so I don't think it's a hardware issue.
Is anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Do you have it plugged in charging when this occurs?

Yes I do. When I unplug, I am able to close the tabs normally in any orientation. I was testing this when you posted.

Archos 101 with Auto Rotate problem.

It seems my new archos 101 auto rotates all over the place. any issues from anyone else. it seems to want to go to landscape with the Archos 101 upside down. It seems to go to the position I am not looking at......
It seems my only solution it to turn off auto rotate which keeps it in landscape mode.

Have you tried to do the Accelerometer calibration?
You should place your device horizontal on a flat surface and use the Repair & Formatting -> Accelerometer calibration.

then accelerometer calibration and follow the instructions.
feel free to give me some thanks!!!
EDIT: oops someone else posted while i was sorry!
Also after calibration, I suggest getting the app "rotation toggler", I feel its a must have.

i have done this a few times thanks I did try that it seems right after I do that it flips upside down in portrait position. I will try rotation toggler...
Almost sounds like a faulty device if you have tried to recalibrate multiple times and are still getting the same results. Hope you have not done anything to void your warranty.
It seems to be fixed
Just an update I havent messed around with the 101 due to work but found on another board on another site that when calibrating put the archos flat on a level surface instead of on its side and shazam. IT WORKED no more flipping upside down in landscape mode. It has made me like this thing alot more.....

And what was suggested to you in the second post of this thread?
Not only that, but the proper procedure is stated in the manual.
We don't need no stinkin' manuals!

[Q] Can't use screen while talking

While using stock ROMs up to 360 works fine. Every custom ROM or 40* ROMs cause these problem.
Once sensor was covered while call, display locks and doesn't unlocks until someone on the other side hang-up.
I've allready tried to wipe cache and reset everything. Calibration doesn't help too.
PS Sorry for my bad english.
It's a known problem, however some have reported that if you rotate the device from portrait to landscape (or vice versa) that it "unlocks" the screen.

It realy helps, thanks!
Did anyone figured out what is the reason of it? Is there a fix?
As far as I know, there is not a fix for it. We are stuck with this workaround for now.
Fortunately, I've found kind of a solution.
I've noticed, that if phone shows you any kind of notifications, display unlocks right.
So i searched an app that will show some. And it works!
For me cure is - "Notification Airtime" app (Free and available in market).
Hope it will be useful.

[Q] Homescreen in Landscape mode?

I dont know what happened but my Galaxy S3 can tilt from Portrait to landscape while in Homescreen this morning.
But now when I tried it again it does not do it anymore, I did not restart the phone or anything. I'm on stock TW and not rooted.
Am I missing something here why I cant do it anymore? Take note that currently the screen rotation is still turned on.
I had the same issue on samsung tab and have been said by the samsung tech team to recalibrate the tab , tried it and got it resloved.
got the issue again after tried the stap again no luck, tech guys said I need to do a factory rest and that fixed the issue.
Hi mate, currently in my case my homescreen is still in portrait mode . But I'm just wondering why can i adjust it a while ago to landscape mode while I'm in home screen but now I cant.
The only difference is I'm connected to my wifi router a while ago and now I'm not connected to it.
Take note that I did not use any MHL adapter (I read somewhere else that using MHL will enable that functionality).
Hmm. maybe a bug. But that was cool

When you say the 'issue' is the issue that it was rotating or that it wasn't? Is the homescreen supposed to rotate? I'm trying to decide if I should get a GS3 or a GNex today and I'm not familiar with how touch wiz normally operates.
What do you mean by Homescreen? The screen you get when you have unlocked the phone? If so then mine has never tilted into landscape mode and is always in Portrait, is this not suppose to be the case?
@Claytop
Yes mate. But right now it's not going to landscape anymore. Don't know why. I guess its a bug. hmmm

sorry for my ignorance, I never saw the default homescreen rotate in landscape mode. but in the tab both default homescreen and application homescreen rotate.
can other users confirm if the default homescreen tilt/rotate in landscape mode??
I am going ok with the touchwiz if you need a faster response probably you need to root and put in some good rom.

I believe that's the normal operation in the homescreen because no one replied experiencing same scenario I mentioned
Iv installed a sikipedia widget and when i click it the home screen goes to landscape mode...
would very much like to have this as a standard.
It's better to factory reset the device. If u still face the issue, try going with roms. It may get better.

Auto Rotation problem

Hello guys. My new S2 has a problem. When i activate Auto rotation it only works in landscape mode, but when i try to put it in portrait it doesn't work, no matter what position i rotate my phone in. I think the problem is the accelerometer sensor. How can i fix it?

The first thing for me to try is always a factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik and do full reset. 9 times out of ten this has fixed issues for me.
If it doesn't work then you can go into test mode on your phone and test the accelerometer. Open dial pad and dial *#0*#
That'll give you some idea if it's the accelerometer

You both have to provide your ROM details.
Anyways, if you guys are running CM9, CM10 or any AOKP based Roms, then the instructions below should solve your problems:
1. Goto settings - Display
2. Under ROTATION, enable every option you find there.
All should be well if you the simple instructions.
If you have any more questions, do let me know

I have same problem, all options are ticked in and sometimes it gets stuck when i rotate. i use CM10.

I'm on AOKP JB 4.2.2 MR1- Build 5 with my GT-i9100. When I try auto rotate after a reboot it works. 10 minutes later it won't work anymore but after some time it might work again and after that it's stuck in one position again. Calibrating my device doesn't help and I can't find anything else in settings that could help. Thanks in advance.
Bump, sorry if this is annoying but I want to respond in main AOKP channel, can't do it as I'm a ''junior'' member. I just need my answer

I have the same problem! Have officially 4.1.2. Any suggestion i will appreciate because it is so annoying and making me desperate.
Just to mention, in Camera mode, it is flipping normally from Landscape to Portrait and contrary.
my camera can`t stop rotating even with rotation and motion turned off.. i snap a picture holding the phone straight(portrait) and the pictures come randomly...one is upside down , the other is sideways. And i have the same problem with different roms? now i`m with alliance rom 7.3 and before that i was with chamelion rom

An easy fix for me on rotation issue
Hey i had the same issue as well, and i followed some of the other instructions in trying to wipe my cache and factory reset to fix the isse, nothing happened my sensors were still off when i tested it and i could put it to landscape, but i could not get it back to portrait. and i also tried some other suggestions as well. Finally i decided i was going to live with it until i found this app call (auto rotate widget) by jason hull, i would post a link but i just registered.
Some how this app fixed my phone and all i did was install it, i never touched any of the settings and now my sensors are back to normal and the phone is rotating perfect now.

Maps doesn't rotate in navigation

I can't get maps to auto rotate once in navigation. It will rotate in the app when looking at the map, but once in nav it will stick to whatever orientation it was in when I started nav.
Anyone else? Never had this problem on any other device or rom.

Your right it doesn't...although you can have it in landscape prior to going into navigation mode and it'll run in landscape.
The op2 went through this same issue. I'd think they would have learned then.

He is talking about navigation mode...like when you click that blue arrow and Google has turn directions. When you start navigation either in portrait or landscape its stuck in that position.
Edit: did get this wrong...
The OP was talking about the display orientation, I thought it was about the rotation of the map, so forget what I was writing...
osmand has got 3 rotation modes: North always on top, rotate according to compass, rotate according to driving directions.
All modes work fine on my oneplus x.
Although for compass mode the compass has to be calibrated for this mode to work. Drawing some 8 in the air with the phone will do the trick.
But this has to be done on other phones as well (compass calibration).
