Full screen Netflix? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Are there any settings im missing to make Netflix play full screen?
As of now, ive got almost a half inch on either side of the picture of black border. When im watching a movie off my SD card, it will play full screen.
Im guessing its just the app?

Netflix plays full screen for me...Not even sure how to access any setting for the app. Try different shows, it might just be the format of the specific show. If I watch "Parks and Recreation" it shows just fine.

It depends on the show that is being viewed. Blues Clues displayed a partial screen and when I single touched the screen it got bigger but never filled the entire screen area. Secrets Beneath the ICE: Nova played at full screen right away.

Ah ok thats good to know.
I started watching Family Guy at episode 1. Now im at around episode 85 haha
Ill have to see how things go with another show/movie

Half inch scrambled column with figiting task bar

I know already a thread about diagonal flickering but this is different.
Screenshots do not show the scramble.
I just upgraded to ICS, now when I am watching videos I will get the following issues: (btw prime is in landscape mode).
a) .5 inch wide column on far left edge of screen scrambled with horizontal lines from top to bottom.
b) during this time the bottom taskbar jitters or shutters slightly by 1cm up and down.
Only way to fix it is to walk away and come back in about 15min, or reboot prime.
I have tried reset, factory defaults. Never had this issue until ICS.
Other then this issue my prime is great.
I had something like issue (a), but I can't reproduce it. It happened to me on HC, while sitting on the bathroom counter. When I picked it up, it went away, came back when I put it down, went away again when I picked it up again, and never happened again. It happened while viewing Gizmodo in a browser that opened via an RSS link in Google Reader.
I would described the lines as dancing ~1/2 inch long lines that were spaced maybe 1/8 inch apart, along the left edge in landscape mode. I didn't have the taskbar moving, but the lines did extend into the taskbar.

I had a similar problem on HC, the unit would also lock up sometimes. I factory reset, didnt let google reinstall all my apps on my account. I just installed my apps slowly waiting to see if caused a problem. I never reinstalled all my apps, so I never did find out which, if any, it was. Its been fine ever since.

Display corruption - software side

Wondering if any one else has had this issue. The left edge developed a series of blocks that would disappear when I touch he screen, and then reappear when I stopped touching the screen.. The issue persisted into app browser, but reappeared while playing a video in mx player.. It appeared again after I quit mx.
I took screenshots, via the app switcher button throughout, and and I can see the corruption in the shots, and so I suspect its a software issue and not something in the display itself. Screenshots will follow once I compression them a bit.
*edit*
attached.
Rebooting caused the issue to go away. Locking/unlocking made no difference.
Screen Issue
I also have a Problem with the Display. The issue is best seen here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIO2LBMG-dc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
the problem comes and goes... some days nothing happens and then its always flickering!
That's more concerning to me. My issue went away after a reboot, but it wasn't really too bad. That twitching would get on my nerves though.
The first three pics actually look really sick. It would be cool if an app could apply an effect like that. The fourth pic... not so much.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
I didn't mind it when it was just doing the first three. Now it sometimes decides to expand into a double-wide box (see attached). I suspect it has to do with letting the screen lock and stay locked during a fullscreen netflix playback, and/or the network monitor mini overlay. Or at least I hope so. I don't want it to be a corruption issue...

[Q] Couple of questions

Hey everyone
Have my white s3 about a week and have one or two questions.
My first one is in the camera app I turn the phone on its side and is it just me or do I loose nearly a half inch either side of my screen with black borders?
But if you switch to video it widens to the full phone screen..
Also is it just my phone or has anyone noticed that the back button doesn't close apps?? It will go back to the home screen but doesn't close the app.
I haven't rooted... Should I??
Thanks
if you go in to setting scroll to bottom and go in developer options there is a highlighted section there to end all processes so none run in the back ground. as for rooting i have cos i like to mess with things its entirely up to you once rooted warranty is void so i know some are waiting just incase
I do not believe you lose actual picture width, even if the viewfinder is shrunken.
Why do you want programs to get closed? They reload faster when they stay in the RAM, and the browser, for example, remembers what page you were on.
Android is decent at clearing RAM when needed (except when its the homescreen), but you can get Advanced Task Killer from Play Store if you want to manualy close programs. But this will ofter use more battery because loading a program from scratch uses more CPU than fetching the same program from the RAM.
Also if you must use a task killer (you don't have to), make sure it is not automatically closing things.
Thanks for the replys.. It's just something that I noticed on the s3
I thought my galaxy nexus **** them down when pressing back.
The pictures are my main concern.
When I view them in the gallery I have black border on the left and right, I'm not geting full screen.. Has anyone noticed this?
Yeah, I got that too. Maybe its a mismatch between the resolution of the pictures and that of the S3. The camera resolution can be changed, and you can zoom in on your pictures with pinch. Full screening all pictures would lead to distorted pictures.
Its just weird I feel like it wasnt like that when i first got it.. I think I would of noticed. I thought I changed something in the settings.
Why is it when you switch to video it changes to the full screen and the buttons you can press are see through.
But on the camera your loosing nearly a half inch each side of your screen.
Doesn't make sense to me.

If im understanding correctly here, what you are explaining is screen burn. Unfortunately the panel this device uses has issues with it. There is another thread with users reporting screen burn here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/help/screen-burn-t3364676
Right. Ghost buttons are shows to me, so it's like screen burn.
But sometimes this just dissappear for while.
It's possible to repair it? I mean fix without change whole LCD in phone?

Wallpaper problem

I think this is a bug – but it may be a stupid question on my part. Apologies if so. I'm primarily an iOS user on mobile, and the Gemini (which I'm loving so far…) is my first serious experience of Android.
OK, so I was playing with customisation options for my home screen, and although I actually really like the default dark blue starfield background that comes preset on the machine, I decided to swap it for an 'early morning sky' photo that I typically use on all my mobile devices. (It's a photo I took myself years ago, and works really well as a backdrop.)
After touching 'Set wallpaper', I elected to set my new background for both home screen AND lock screen. Fine; that worked OK and looks good. But I subsequently changed my mind and wished I'd stuck with the standard starfield for the lock screen. So I went back to the wallpaper options to change the lock screen only.
At this point I discovered the problem/bug. The thumbnail of the starfield picture is still there to be selected, and if I touch it, it covers the screen like it did before, so everything appears OK. However, when I click on 'Set wallpaper' and choose the option, regardless of what I choose (home screen, lock screen or both), there's a pause and then the starfield vanishes, leaving me with a completely black background. I can set the background image to any new photo that I supply myself without problems, but any attempt to reapply the original starfield graphic fails, which is rather a shame.
Can anyone tell me where I can locate the starfield graphic on the system? I've tried browsing the file system (with hidden files visible) but haven't found it. Or can anyone perhaps supply the file so that I can copy it back to the device if perhaps it only now exists in a cache or some such problem? I'd really like to get the image back.
Thank for any help.

Can confirm I have the same issue after re-flashing with the latest stock Android. Explains why I've still got a black screen!
+1 , same thing seen (or not seen if you prefer lol)

I believe this is a bug. I got around this by a long winded method. I selected the "star field" thumbnail so it covers the screen. At this point I took a screen shot by pressing Fn + R and then you can go to your gallery app, select the screen shot image, crop anything you don't want such as the bar at the top and then set the edited screen shot as your background. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's a good workaround.
