I had no problem with it, if it hangs just pushing the power button for long time reboot the device.

This is what I do.

Same here, my phone wouldn't wake up, power, vol down for about 5 seconds forced reboot.

The manual says to force a reboot by holding down the Power key and the Volume down key.
Anyone know how /if that's different from holding down just the power key or the Power key and both the Volume down and up keys, two other things I've read mentioned?

holding the power key by its self doesnt always work. It just is a hard power down. The power + vol down is essentially the same as a battery pull.

Holding power and down volume key at the same time is a forced re-boot, and you'll automatically go into a power on situation, with the boot animations starting.
Holding just the power down button should only power off the device, and not re-boot, so you have to re-press the power button to start again.
Sometimes, though, if the phone recognizes the power down by holding the power button, once it turns off, it recognizes the power button a separate time, and you re-boot. This is actually an error, and "shouldn't" occur, but does because of the system resetting.

manually boot to bootloader

trying to manually boot to bootloader by holding power button and volume down button simultaneously. TB just continues to boot normally.
and to confirm. power is off. depress and hold simultaneously the power button and the volume down buttons and release. what am i missing? what am i doing wrong?
Hold down volume- first, then push and hold the power button. Continue holding then BOTH until the phone turns on and is in hboot.

if that does not work try pulling the battery then holding down volume then hold down the power button.

[Q] Can't power off

ok so I was trying to do the tweaks for my new touchpad, and I hadn't got very far and now for some reason I can't power my device off? the power button works for locking and unlocking but holding it down does nothing. the only real step i got to was powering my device on while holding the volume button which didn't do anything, except apparently now I can't power my device off..
any ideas?
try holding the home+power button for 15 seconds, after it resets try to restart.

thank you sir!!
no problem man
Awesome! I was in the same situation.

Are you still pressing POWER+VOL DOWN?

Every instruction says to press Power+Vol Down and hold the Vol down until you see "Fastboot".
But its not true.
You power up with power button as normally and within 2-3 seconds just press the Vol Down key. It will show you the usual "Fastboot" text on your screen. There you can choose as usual with Vol Down key and select with Vol Up.
yeah ..that is true...
Yeah, but holding the volume down button ensures you don't miss that window, then have to go through another reboot cycle.
I think your point is kinda pointless really, but that's just my humble opinion!
i'm still going to press POWER+VOL DOWN together.
Just hold VOL-DOWN then press and release power. Release VOL-DOWN when fast boot appears. You don't have to hold power.
Actually, everything that has been said so far IS true... there is no wrong way to access the boot options whether you hold both the Power Button + Volume Down, Press Power Button then release + Press volume Down after 2-3 sec etc. all of these techniques will get you to the boot menu..
But I think, which is always dangerous, the reason they have said to hold both Power Button + Volume Down Button is because they avoided all the questions like;
when is the right time to press the Volume Down Button
Do I wait 2-3 sec after I press the Power Button
or Do I wait 2-3 sec after the Moto boot logo appears
Why can't I get this right
I tried searching for a way to get into the boot menu and it seems like I keep missing the 2-3 sec window period, can someone please explain to me the right way?
LoL
No need to reinvent something that has been working for everyone thus far.

Atrix boot loop

I got an Atrix from a friend who was having problems with it.
I tried turning it on and it stays tuck in a boot loop with the "Dual Core Technology" screen.
I tried a couple of key combinations to see if I could get to fastboot but nothing works. So far I've tried the following combinations:
1. holding the volume up button while powering on
2. holding the volume down button while powering on
3. holding volume up + volume down while putting the battery in and then pressing the power button
4. holding volume up + volume down while putting the battery in and then letting go of volume down and pressing the power button
5. holding power and volume up button while putting the battery in
I also tried this. After holding down the volume up button and pressing the power button, i tried hitting the volume down button once and then hitting volume up, hitting it twice and then volume up, 3 times and volume up, etc. etc. and then plugging in the phone to the computer, just in case the fastboot menu was there but I couldn't see it, but that doesn't seem to work either.
As it stands right now, all I'm getting is the boot loop. The phone had been sitting around for a while so I'm not really sure what the history is so all I have to go off of is what I have in front of me.
I'd appreciate any help in the matter.
Can you tell more history of the phone?
Is it rooted?
Is the bootloader unlocked?
Which ROM is it running if it's running one?

I'm pretty sure its not rooted and almost certain its the stock rom but I have no idea about the bootloader. My friend is not very tech-savy so I'm guessing that the bootloader is locked.
I have no way to verify any of this. All I have at this point is the phone that sits looping at the "dual core technology" screen.
If you have any ideas about which way to proceed from here, I'd greatly appreciate it!
What exactly is happening (down to the last detail) when you boot while holding Vol(-)?

When I have the volume down button pressed while booting, the green led stays on for 4-5 seconds, then the phone boots to the dual core screen, it'll stay there for about 5-7 seconds, then go to the M logo with the ripples and then the screen goes black for a second and then it loops back to the dual core screen. Only, this time, there is no delay between the 'dual core technology' screen and the M logo with the ripples.
Try this:
1) Remove battery
2) Replace battery while holding volume down button
3) Navigate to recovery
Should get you out of the loop.

Maybe the easiest way to get make it work again would be to flash the original stock rom with RSDLite.
It's very easy, you just need to connect your phone via fastboot ( when powering on hold vol(-) key until it says fastboot), then press vol(+) and the computer will detect it.
Just remember to flash the correcto sbf for your phone, otherwise you will have another bootloop.

Where do I get the stock rom?
How about you do some searching on your own for a change?
This time search for fruitcakes. That's the stock ROM.

[Solved] Can't get in fastboot anymore...

After a bad flash, I'm stuck at "htc One/beatsaudio" white screen, but unable to reboot in bootloader/recovery, even not power down...
Holding the power button a loooooooooooooong time makes softbuttons blinking, but nothing else happen...
Any idea?
Aaaaargh...finally solved...:victory:
I post "MY" solution, maybe it can help someone else (using the "search" functionality...)
Just press Power + Vol. Up + Vol. Down at the same time...:highfive:
The Other way: Press Power long time, until your phone gets off. After a second press and hold Vol. Down, press the power button and the phone starts in bootloader mode.

Thank you, but I was starting this thread because it wasn't possible anymore to use the normal way: Power button 10 sec. and Power + Vol. Down to get in bootloader mode...
