Bad icons sort after unplug cabel - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hello guys
I have SE NEO 2 months, and I am problem, when I plug phone with usb cabel to pc and then unplug him, sometimes (like every 4 connection) happens that icons are sorted differently and some icons on phone desktop are deleted (not in menu). ITs really flustrating to sort them back.
Any idea?

App2sd causes this problem.

I suspect you're right, but why would anyone add APPS2SD when it is built in?
Possibly a rhetorical question.

It happens with the built in function as well since it's the same as apps2SD. I'm not sure exactly what happens but I assume the SD card is somehow treated differently when connected the PC though it's not completely unmounted like it is in Mass Storage Mode.
The items vanish from your Home Screen because by connecting your phone to the PC the phone lose it's connection to them. This is why you should never move widgets or apps for which you create a shortcut on your Home Screen to your SD card.

Exactly!!!

Any apps on the SD card become "unavailable" if the USB Storage mode is active as the SD card is unmounted. If no apps have been installed or moved to the SD card, this doesn't happen. Unfortunately, the apps reaarange themselves sometimes when the SD card remounts. Although this seems not to happen on FW .62. That I've noticed that is!

ok guys thanks for answers,
So if I am right problem is that I have App2sd which I have...
So how can I fix that? uninstall this app will help?
Or its just the problem with apps which I moved with App2sd from internal memory to sd card?
If problem is in apps which I moved to SD card, I can send them back, but there is no space on internal memory, its only few MB on it. How do you guys do this?

This is built-in anyway and solving your problem.
CONNECT/DISCONNECT your phone normal..etc...unmount..eject. Then android itself fixes those problem.

No and thats the problem, I unplug phone from the USB cabel, waiting 30 sec for SD, and some icons from theme are still deleted and icons are sorted badly.
My android dont fix it back.

Move everything that has either a widget or a shortcut on your homescreen back to your phone memory.

oh wow, it looks like works, pretty ****y I must say...
So there is no way I can have many shortcuts on my theme, because phone memory is really small
Thank you anyway for help!

[Q] how to move movie's from pc to sgs

i know this might sound like a stupid question but how to i move my movie which work on my itouch to my sgs i tries using kies and ofc it doesn't pick up my phone conents and i also tried draging and droping the movie on my new brand new formatted 16gb sd card with nothing on it expect a note pad document called "devicefriendlyname" on but a message keeps poping up or it keeps frezzing and (im connect the phone i use mass storeage) and it doesn't WORK GRRRRRR does anyone know what i should do!? thanks in advance cause i just got the phone last week and loving eveything abit it except the lag and this! but what makes it worst is that when i put the sd card into my old g1 and reformat it on the it and put the same movie on it WORKS!!! is there something w rong with my sgs?
I would either use the phone and connect it to the PC and Mount the USB storage and drag it to the sd card or use a card reader on my pc with the sdcard and drag it onto the card.
I couldn't quite understand what you were saying when you explained what you tried already, so sorry if you did try this already.
Those are the simplest ways to transfer, no need to use kies or anything else. Just make sure the movie is in a format the video application you are using supports.

[Q] A few questions

Ok I have a few questions I have been trying to find the answer for but need help with now.
1. Best way to FAT32 my Micro SD card? I saw HP tools. But I dont have anyway to put the Micro SD card into the comp can I do the FAT while it is still in my phone?
2. No sounds with the latest Kernel is that a bug or is there something I need to do on my end. Same with the Text sounds there are no my phone does not even vibrate for a text.
3. something weird I would put it into deep sleep solid green LED and then as i was walking or driving it might go to orange for a few seconds is that something to do with me moving around or just something else.
Thanks for the help.

1. HP Tool. Of course you can do it with the card in the phone, just use mass storage mode in Winmo.
2. Which kernel? Did you try formatting your card? ^^ I'd guess not haha.
3. The phone needs to wake - things syncing in the bg, etc. If you have no apps set to sync, airplane mode on, basically everything disabled it should stay solid green. Anything else that could wake it, will make it flicker orange. That's the point, the LED indicates sleep state.
what should I download to reformat and where can I get it from
Thanks again arrrghhh

If you're using FRX06, it's pretty obvious you didn't read the first post. The HP Tool is linked there.

Please Help! All USB Options VANISHED from Phone Menu (CM 7.2)

So today I noticed that my battery was about to die and I tried charging my phone and it wouldn't recognize that it was plugged into the mini-usb cable at all. Cleaned the port and pulled the battery and now it will will charge through the cable, but neither my phone nor my PC appear to realize that the two are connected, and ... strangest of all ...
ALL USB OPTIONS ARE NOW MISSING FROM MY PHONE'S MENU.
There are no USB options under "Wireless and network settings."
Under "applications\development" I can select "Android debugging," but that is it. And it doesn't seem to do anything. My phone just charges when connected to my PC and that is it.
No "mass storage" option available anywhere. It was there yesterday--gone today.
I'm running CM 7.2.0 RC2.
The ONLY thing I can think that I did was to delete a genie widget folder from my phone the last time it was connected to my PC. I looked it up first and it is supposed to be a news and weather app which I have never used and which I didn't even know was on there ... Could that have somehow removed USB options from phone's menu?
Also the mini-usb connection is definitely loose--if I jiggle it stops charging the battery--so it could be a hardware problem ... but how would a hardware problem remove all USB options from the software?
Any advice greatly appreciated! I use my phone as an MP3 player and not being able to put music on there is just going to ruin things for me ....

Sounds like you have a bad usb port on your phone. First thing I would try is a new usb cable from the T-Mobile store. If that doesn't work then you definitely have a defected usb port. www.mobiletechvideos.com will repair your usb port on the phone, it runs around 40 bucks but the usb cable will only be around $15. I thought my usb port was bad but it turned out to be a defected cable. Thankfully.
Ps: the news and weather app deletion should not effect usb mass storage what so ever.

Confirm it's not the ROM/kernel first. Flash back to another ROM/stock and see if anything changes
Since it's charging sounds like you USB port is fine . Follow FaultExcepts advice and reflash the ROM .

Thanks to you all for responding! I posted about this in the CM7 forum as well and I'm getting nothing but silence over there.
I'll try a new mini-usb cord first and if that doesn't work I will reflash ... It sucks that I have no way to back stuff up first, since I can't copy anything over to my computer ...
Will post back with the results. Thanks again you guys!

Titanium backup.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try titanium back up.
All: I bought a new mini usb cord and tried it out. As soon as I connected my phone to my laptop, my phone displayed a "mass storage" message and I thought "Yes!" It's working! But then the message went away and my laptop displayed a message stating that there was a problem with the hardware I'd connected ...
Since then, nothing. It is exactly the same as before: phone will charge, but nothing else.
So it must be a hardware problem with the phone, or the ROM got corrupted and should be reflashed. I wish I could know for sure before pursuing either option ...
Which would be more likely to actually remove USB settings from the options menu? That is the thing I still can't figure out ...

In that case you should just reflash the ROM or flash a completely new ROM to see if that's the issue, considering that is the free option. If that doesn't work then it would have to be a bad usb port on your phone, which is a 45 dollar option from mobiletechvideos.com. . When you flash a ROM make sure you wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. I would format the system partition as well, just to make sure you get a fresh install.

If the pictures and videos are on your external sd card then you can just take it out as a precaution.
There may be an app that can do this for you if you're pics and vids are on the internal memory, since you can't connect to your pc. Google a app that backs up pictures and videos, you may find something. Just to clarify, you do have Samsung phone drivers installed on your pc, correct? You can't connect to mass storage through the computer unless you have the correct drivers installed. Also, as far as I know there is only one usb option you need checked to get in mass storage mode, and that's usb debugging. You say all other usb option are gone but that is the only option I have ever seen on any ROM, unless your talking about adb over network, which I don't think you will need to mess with that.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Your pictures should be fine. Wiping only wipes the ROM for the most part.
Thanks Itz and FaultException for your responses!
I managed to back up my videos and pictures, by uploading them to mediafire from my phone.
I decided to bite the bullet. I went into recovery to reflash, wiped everything, went to install the zips, and ... there were no zips. I know I didn't delete them from the last time I installed a ROM, which was quite recent. But they were gone. I can't add them by connecting to my PC, and I can't download them directly onto my phone, because now ... I can't boot into the ROM. My nandroid backup does not work .... Man. This is going to be a fun evening.
I ended up pulling the external SD card, putting it into my mp3 player, downloading the zips onto that, put it back into my phone, and install from there (even though I know you're supposed to install from internal memory, not external.)
It worked just fine. I have a brand new, fresh installation of CM7. And .... I still can't connect to my PC via USB. It will charge, but that is it.
Yes, my PC has the required Samsung drivers, at least I put them on their previously. And in any event my laptop with windows 7 automatically recognized my phone before this issue began, without me installing anything extra ... Now, it will not.
It has to be a hardware issue with the port.
Now I have to decide whether it is worth trying to get it fixed, sending it off, etc, or if I should just start looking for a used Galaxy II on craigslist ...

At least your up and running now and your phone can charge, so that's a plus. I encouraged a member a few weeks back who had a bad usb port, to send his phone to www.mobiletechvideos.com because they are a very trusted source. He was up and running when he got his phone back and went ahead to say the service was great and had tracking on the package I believe. Here is the thread link, in case you want to read it.

Edit: it costs $45 dollars to get your phone fixed by them so that's probably your best option in my opinion. Any other option will cost more.

I guess I'll try mobiletech as my next move ...
In the meantime I thought I might just try moving files back and forth via the external SD card ... but now I find that I can not move files from my internal memory to the external card or vice versa ..
Anyone know what could be preventing me from doing it? I just get a message that says: "Could not move file."

Synchronizing when connected via USB.....

What is with the synchronizing when moving or copying onto sd or internal mem when connected to USB? can't do anything on the phone until its finished, anyway to disable this so phone is still useable as its a royal pain in the ass.
Yeah MTP is a pain in the ass most times.
I just proposed a possible solution in another thread, link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32103725&postcount=4

Blank SD card/removed unexpectedly

This seems to be a fairly common problem on Android phones having searched XDA but it's a problem that has only just started happening on my SGS3 (whilst on holiday - fml).
I was listening to music on the beach (through Poweramp) and took some photos. The music stopped and when I went back into the player no files were found. Then the message appeared at the top saying either no memory card inserted, blank memory card or SD card removed unexpectedly. It's a 32 gb
I immediately swore a lot and then tried the usual routines of rebooting, reinserting, reflashing and reswearing but no joy. This was all on Omega 27.1 btw.
So, I flash a new ROM - Omega 13.1 (old faithful). Nothing.
I flash Supernexus 3. Nothing.
I swear. A lot. Nothing.
I go back to 13.1. Something...
It finds the card but it is still an intermittent problem - especially when using the headphone controls for some reason? I've since tried another smaller SD card and the problem seems to disappear so it must be a corrupt card that I need to reformat to FAT32 once I get home.
Has anybody else got any other ideas or had the same issue?

Well, my SD card just started having this problem today.
Since all my pics and backups are uploaded to Dropbox, I asked the S3 to format it, but it does not solve the problem.
My PC can read the card perfectly.
Any thoughts?
Had the same issue with my S3.
Turned out that the SD card was dying, this caused it to be unmounted by itself and then mounted again (sometimes showing notification “sd card removed unexpectedly”), hence triggering the media scanning process.
I created an application to monitor how many times the SD card was removed, and turned out to be unmounted every ~3 mins!!!
I then bought a new Transcend 32GB Class 10 card (made in Korea), and until now, this never happens, no reports from the application whatsoever, and no media process eating my battery.
I just published this app in the play store now, this is the link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sdcardmonitor
