m really sorry as i said m a noob please clearify i didnt get u!!

Easiest way is to repair it with pc companion. Install pc companion on Sony Ericsson website, if you don't have it

Do you have root access (if you haven't done this yourself, you wont have it)?

i have done rooting and recovery too now what to do??
installted setcpu too

Go into xrecovery (keep hitting back button when u first turn phone on till it appears) then find fix permissions (I think it on advanced) volume controls scroll up/down, home (middle) button selects. Try that and let me know if it helps

I think you might try custom roms available on developer threat as most of them have the basics tweaks and optimisations. I personally recommend this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16477883 rom for it is easy to understand instruction for newbie. Cheers.

I really want to help you and will give you the steps to have a smooth phone like mine

I recommend you sync your contacts with Google sync, back up your stuff with titanium back up free which is on the market. (note after you've flashed the ROM which has a kernel built into the ROM you will need to install titanium back up again to restore all the stuff you backed up)
. It is a very fast and smooth ROM I am using ATM. Okay go into xrecovery by starting your phone up and when you see the Sony Ericsson logo, keep pressing the back button.
Now you're in x recovery Wipe Dalvik cache, Wipe cache partition and do full factory wipe. Then go to install custom zip.

Do a clean install, the cleanest as u can:
01. Format your SD Card
02. Repair x10 in PC Companion
03. Root and instal xrecovery in the newest flash tool
04. Put some rom on Your SD Card (Im using Wolf ver 4.0.4s. Ive tested all roms here and like it the most i could give u some links)
05. Flash it in xrecovery
06. Reboot the fone it should be smooth like hell

Matty yr Thog stuff worked lyk the sexiest thing ever witnessed!!
i just installed it!!
luks are awesome bt the battry n speed will b determined aftr 24 hr!!!

Thank you. If you need help with anything else just let me know

[Q] Virus?

Hi there all! And happy new year!!!
Couple of questions,
First, Zoner antivirus found this the exploits, should i be worried?
1: File is infected: exploit.AndroidOS.Lotoor.G -sdcard/bluetooth/SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk
I removed the app, scan, removed
2: App is infected: Exploit.AndroidOS.Lotoor.G com.caspian.android.removal
Phone is rooted by Superoneclick
Android: 2.3.4
Build: 4.0.2.A.0.42
Second question, if i upgrade to .62, will the phone still be rooted?
And finally, any use of lookout antivirus? Cus it did not seem to find any exploit, but Zoner did.

Did your device rooted? Try to install cwm recovery, then format system, format data, format cache, format sd card, dont reboot your phone, select mount sd card, then put one of the custom ROM (ex, SE Tweaked) to your sd card, unmount, then flash the rom, reboot.
If your bootloader was unlocked, i recommend you to flash inteks or doomkernel first, cause it has built in cwm recovery, so you dont have to worried if flashing doesnt work.
Use it with your own risk.
Let me know if its help.

Ok im sure few of u would have noticed that on x10 2.3.3 app drawer, apps get re arranged themselves under the category, 'own order'. How to fix this

1st,
go Bottom left icon set "Own Order" from those options
Next,
2nd,
go Lower Right icon with four blocks icon, click it. You will see apps floating~ and uninstall "X" for non-system apps. For placing like you want, just press-hold the application you want and move it to where you want it to be. Problem Solved

Haha i see. I don't see that problem, works perfectly in mine. Maybe because i used different ROM + xperiaHome Launcher and allowed to edit apps drawer row and column numbers? Perhaps you try flash other Home launcher (I currently using this nEW HOME launcher from this thread), and see whether that solves your problem or not? NOTE THAT THIS FLASH ZIP will overwrite your xPeria HomeLauncher. If not working, ROM might be the cause. Hope helps Sorry if i accidentally irritatated ya

Haha thanks i'm glad Okay sure, go on. You can see launcher's screenshots from that post. It's zipped in attachments
1) Yeap, download it and place it under ur sd card. Then power off your phone and boot to xrecovery.
But as measurement, i advice you make backup in xrecovery for your Stock ROM's data before flashing anything (in future reuse like easier to unlocking bootloader and so on)
2) Flash it using "install custom zip from sd card". I don't think you will reach error for installing that launcher. It will overwrite original stock home launcher. When completed, reboot phone.
3) Once reboot, patience needed. Need time to execute new Launcher for first reboot
4) If your problem still remain, last option you may have to install another custom ROM to solve it(problems may cause by stock rom script/xml errors) Anyway good luck and enjoy
If can, pls kindly hit thanks button as an appreciation Will be Very Much appreciated
And also thanks to X10forevers senior for providing the launcher too
sincerely,
whitefang

XU dillema

Hello. This is my first post here so forgive me if i done or post it wrong.
In short i have updated phone from gb 6.0.B.1.564 to Ics 6.1.1.C.1.0 via pcc and it is from then acting very poorly in comparison to before, very laggy and slow in general. What id like to know now is what is best to do? I have heard there is some new latest firmware released for xu ics, is it possible for me to get that, and is it improved a bit performance? If nothing, can someone pls point me how to downgrade back to gb, or maybe suggest something else? Just so you know, my phone is not rooted and it has locked bootloader.
Thank you all in advance

Hi zig , firstly I will not suggest u to downgrade ur phone secondly do one thing to make ur phone processing faster.... Go to settings>apps>all> click the app and on the top right u will see an option ''disable'' , disable the preinstalled apps which u don't use like ''Google +,email, gmail, talk,fb,office suite, top contacts, retail demo, recommender, maps ,Google chrome, exchange services'' restart ur phone and then use..... Let me know how is it working.
Yea there is one more new update of Xperia u and that new ICS 6.1.1.B.1.54 version is good....it's bug free ,I would like u to upgrade it.

Hey tyvm for a quick answer. I have done what you told me, except ofc the ones i use and exchange services, cos i dont know what it is, but im guessing its for incoming mails or messages maybe. It improved a bit, but it is still kinda laggy. The thing that is worrying me is a battery draining, it goes down rly fast. I know about the update you mentioned, but there seems to be even more new then that 6.1.1.b1.100. In any case how can i upgrade to those, be it new or older firmware? They are not listed in pcc, it sais its up to date with this last one i did. Thank you again for help.

To get a real lag reduction and battery drain issue, I suggest you to root atleast (without unlocking your boot loader which does not void your warranty).
For that you need flashtools from there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933985
However, B.1.100 is slightly better than the previous version
So to try that, flash it with flashtools, you can find the download link here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974430
You do not require root to flash Sony stock ROMs.
Another better alternative is to flash custom ROMs for locked bootloader,
My personal suggest, go for SlimCM ROM, pretty stable and snappier.

So in essence i can flash newest stock B.1.100 without root, and not losing the waranty (subquestion only unlocking the bootloader voids waranty, but root no? I am asking this cos i do seem to remember but i might be wrong that root can also void it, and i wanna be sure . But if i decide to go for custom ROM which you suggested do i need root for that? With root i can remove loads of stuff which i cannot do now, so thats why the lag is much lesser?

Yes you can attain root access without unlocking your boot loader.
Use flashtool method or Bin4ry's method.
Again yes, you can flash SONY STOCK fw using flashtools (without root or unlocking) in flashmode (just keep in mind to "exclude TA")
Once you are rooted you can install apps such as greenify that really helps to last the battery longer.
Also you could remove the bloatware and other useless apps.
Or you even you can make choices to install Custom ROMs for locked bootloaders. Just check the development section.
This is my personal suggest: SlimCM ROM.
Though its CM9
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143750
See the instructions for locked boot loaders.
Sent from my Xperia U using xda app-developers app
To root fw C.1.0 or any later versions, you need to
-flash the kernel alone of B.1.0.
-follow root procedure by flashtool or Bin4ry method.
-Then flash back the corresponding kernel of the ROM.
Done

Ty for all the suggestions. I rly appreciate it. Think i will go for what u suggested first, slimCM. I checked it and it looks nice.. Althou some things are not so clear to me. In both instructions, for slimCM and in patch for locked bootloader it says wipe data or factory reset in recovery. What is recovery? And it also mentions to do the backup of my current ROM. How shall i do that. Wipe data and factory reset means all data gone from phone so i should backup at least photos, music and sms-es to my pc or some app.

That's where you can find recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020897
CWM recovery is required to flash custom ROMs or MODs etc.
You can find the wipe data, cache options in the recovery menu. Just back up your contacts, messages and things.
Nothing from SD card will be lost.
Do carefully patch the ROM as per the instructions to make it into locked bootloader.
Copy that zip file in SD card and enter CWM recovery
-flash ROM
Done !

heyyy
U can root ur device with out touching bootloader dats pretty easier....
but remember after rooting u need to install cwm recovery bcz its used to flash custom roms and rem u can also take take backup of ur entire rom
if anything goes wrong during flashing custom u can easily restore ur device to normal..... by using back up....
flash b.1.10 rom bcz it can be easily rooted by using flashtool......
So finally the process is root first, second recovery and finally flashing rom of ur choice.....
There are so many ROMS in dev section for locked bootloader......
njoyyyyyyyyy............
I ll attach CWM recovery files download and extract.... In the extract folder double click install(.bat file) make sure device connected with debugging mode on..... accept all superuser request on device........aft rooting u ll get super user app in apptry
PM if any difficulty

So to get it all confirmed, first do the root with flashtool, checkin superuser and rootme, and then i will be rooted. Then cwm recovery install, then applying the patch for locked bootloader for slimCM ROM, then i go back in cwm, make backup of current ROM and then wipe data, and then flash the rom.. That be the order? Is there any thing i should take special care of?

Here's the Rooting Process for you.
This Rooting guide applies to all FW versions above B.1.10. (i.e. B.1.54/C.1.0/B.1.75/B.1.189/B.1.100)
1) Open Flashtool.
2) Click the Flash icon.
3) Select Flash Mode. (Make sure USB Debugging is ON in your Mobile Settings before connecting to PC)
4) Select & Flash the B.1.10 kernel. Then Reboot.
5) Select the Un-Lock icon and choose your preferred SU app & proceed.
6) Follow the on-screen instructions.
7) Now you have rooted your device.

XGo reboots at least once when powering up

Can anyone help me? My phone reboots when I power it up. I use latest phantom kernel with stock Rom. So, I hold the power button, the phone turns on, I see the phantom kernel logo, then I see the Xperia logo, it kinda blinks for a second, when it reappears it does it again, then it continues for 2 seconds, I see the Sony waves thingy, the same thing happens 2-3 times, then it reboots and loads as if nothing happened!(or it does it again 1 more time)
The weird part is that it was alright a few days ago but this thing has scared the heck out of me! Help me pls!
Sent from my ST27i using xda app-developers app
That's the rom bootlooping. It could be caused by any problem. If it finally boots then it should not be a problem. (but I guess you should backup your data if problem increases (I suggest using Onandroid as you can make full nandroids without booting into recovery)) alternatively you can try to remove your int.d scripts and see if it helps. But make a nandroid before trying anything)

I believe the Phantom kernel has init.d support built-in.
You can check to see if you have any init.d scripts in /etc/init.d with Root Explorer or FX file manager with FX Root Access or any file manager that can access the root fs.
Can you still go to the home screen? If not, the best bet is that you need to re-install the ROM. Bootloops happened to me many times while playing with my Xperia, installing custom fonts, and due to that I never got scared of bootloops anymore cause I can always revive my Xperia.
Install the ROM again if you experience bootloops. Cheers

U can create backup using 5.xxxx but restoring it will give a boot loop
however u can flash stock firmware using odin and then restore app data from the backup file using titanium backup
i have done this myself. However it is a long process
the backup option is there along with restore option
Still the cwm u want to avoid is this one ie 5.xxxx because after flashing stock rom thru odin u will still have bootloop
so after flashing stock, use stock recovery to factory reset, wipe data, wipe cache etc. then only your phone will start
Sir, one more question
My gs lags badly whenever i play games including subway surfer, paper toss
Plz tell how to solve the lagging problem

That is y we r trying to make custom Roms to reduce the lag BTW if u want install pureperformance and pure graphics that is available in one of the threads or else install seeder and that reduces a lot of lag
Download a third party launcher like nova launcher as it consumes lesser ram
Also greenify is a good app to limit background processes
Also go to developer options and set animation scales to .5 x that helps too
DO NOT CLEAR RAM
PEOPLE THINK THAT IT REDUCES LAG BUT IT DOES NOT
Click thanks if u find this helpful

I have edited my gltools post for better speed...
and u can find pure graphics hd in my signature below
seeder can be found on play store
or here at xda apps section
most high end games will lag as expected but the games you mentioned shoudnt maybe somethings taking a lot of resources in ur fone
sometimes when i install a lot of apps i find this problem that some app is misbehaving though finding it is quite difficult
when u remove it the fone becomes normal again
except seeder u may also use ram manager
Hey guys...
Coming soon with a new build which has nexus look Hope u like it guys
