Bluetooth Disconnects - HTC Rezound

Has anyone had issues with bluetooth phone and media disconnecting randomly with the rezound? I have the rezound paired with my 2011 Acura TL, and I've had it just randomly disconnect 4 or 5 times now. Sometimes just media disconnects, sometimes both, sometimes bluetooth shuts off entirely? Anyone else notice weirdness?

I use a blueant t1. When an incoming call comes in, it is fine. Occasionally, when I make an outgoing call, I have to shut off the blueant and turn it back on to make it work even though it says it is connected.

One time I would turn it on and 3 seconds later it would turn itself off. Reboots or battery pull did not fix. I had to do a factory reset. Verizon said was probably some software I loaded, but I have since restored all the same apps and happened once for like 10 minutes, but never again. I looked and it was in performance mode too. Otherwise, I have had mine disconnect but never during a call, maybe only once. I also have an issue with it coming into the middle of a sentance during navigation if using my bluetooth speaker. It works fine without the bluetooth, but not with it.

I don't think so. I used it in my car for 2.5-3 hour trips over the holidays and it has been solid. Used it for calls and streaming music from my phone and mostly streaming podcasts from internet.
I could swear I read something about someone having disconnect problems in his car but I searched and couldn't find it. Something about it disconnecting in his car when he held it a certain way.
Found it!:

Thanks. I'll try that out. I always have it in my inside jacket pocket in the car, so it's definitely not the way I'm holding it.
I rarely use the phone over bluetooth, but loves me some A2DP.

LG Tone+ Bluetooth headset - intermittent drops

Not sure if it's my phone or my headset. Occasionally while talking the headset will tell me it's out of range and then reconnect (the phone is usually in my pocket or hand). I'll miss about 10-15sec of the conversation. Sometimes it'll do it repeatedly other times not as often. I don't have another Bluetooth headset to test with. I've had the headset about 8mths and this started happening about a month ago.
Any ideas?

I have the exact same headset and I have never had that problem. I'm on the slimkat weekly 2560. It doesn't even start cutting out until I'm half way across my house.

K. Thanks. I'll look into a warranty claim.
Anyone know how/if different radios could affect this?

Hi,
I would like to share an interesting observation I have also made about Bluetooth disconnections with phone in the pocket.
1) When the phone is in my shirt pocket, and I turn my head to its extreme, sometimes (not always), the connectivity gets disrupted. but unlike your experience, this is only for a secong, and as soon as I turn my head back to normal viewing angles, its ok.
2) with phone in trouser pocket, if I place my hand over the phone same disconet happens depending on which part of the phone gets covered.
Based on these two observations, and knowing that Bluetooth is a short range , line of sight connection, there is something in the materials your clothes include that probably inhibit the line of sight connectivity.
Hope that helps in understanding the momentary loss of BT connection, but not for a 15 seconds like you seem to be experiencing.
cheers

Bluetooth car audio disconnect and connect in cycle
I am experiencing similar issue with bluetooth audio calls in my car. I tried two separate KitKat roms (PSX & Beanstalk 4.4.225) and in both versions, phone bluetooth disconnected and reconnected, it seems like 20 seconds cycle. It would drop for about 5 seconds. I noticed the first it dropped was when the screen turned off. It is impossible to carry on a conversation as it would constantly connect and disconnect. Is this an issue with every kitkat rom?
I have E970.

It must be a KitKat related issue because I didn't have the issue on JB (SlimBean). Thought it may have something to do with the radios. It's intermittent which is a blessing and a curse. I can go a week or two with no issue...then multiple times on a one call (I could put the phone down and make a sandwich if mom is talking...she'd not notice...thus a great tester for this kinda stuff)
I've tried several (if not all) KK radios...no noticeable impact on this issue.
I'm also on the e970.
Note: I'm not losing connection for 15 sec. The headset says 'out of range' then immediately 'connecting'...but it takes time to reconnect and get the phone conversation back. I usually power cycle the headset since it seems more likely to be stable...otherwise it's likely to disconnects/reconnects over and over and over.

Yes, this really seems to be KitKat issue. I installed ParanoidAndroid and it was somewhat better in a sense, it didn't disconnect/connect as often. I do think, bluetooth gets killed when the screen is turned off and then gets turned back on. I can provide with a log file if someone has any ideas on this issue. Definitely I do want to drive handsfree.

Well, I think it may not be kk problem after all because I installed CyanogenMod version 11-20140225-nightly-e970 and I did not experience any issues so far. I will update if I encounter this issue in future.
When I had installed paranoidandroid beta 6, I did not have to install any radios either but still had issue.
For CM11, I did not have to flash any radios either and it is working without any issues till now.

[Q] plug in/charging sound, can i shut it off?

is there any way to shut off that beep? my wireless charger randomly looses connection occasionally and beeps in the middle of the night... not often, but enough! id really like to kill that sound, any suggestions?
I don't believe there's a way besides putting your phone on silence. I use the Quiet Hours setting to put mine on silence during sleep time, and create exceptions for certain contacts.
ive got the quiet hours set and it still beeps? i thought that would do it, but no luck on my phone?
You know, I stand corrected. Quiet Hours still doesn't disable the charging sound. Only silent mode shuts it off.
That is the #1 reason I want to root mine... I'm holding out for samsung pay though. I have a lot of different wireless charging pads and they are hit and miss as far as the connection. However, the one I have at my bedside is an official samsung pad and it never seems to lose connection as long as it is centered. Perhaps switching pads might fix your night problem.

LG g5 a2dp problems?

So I bought a g5, and I'm loving it so far. Except for 2 things:
A. I seem to have received a bad battery with my phone, as it doesn't charge all the way on a non quick charge charger, and if I reboot, I lose about 10-20% battery regularly.
B. If I use my Bluetooth headphones (Sony mdr-zx770bn) in a2dp mode, I get random skips and drops of signal. Very annoying when listening to music. This happens with both my headphones and my Bluetooth car stereo. It's not location based, as it happens at work and at home.
I think I may have got a bad phone, because when it drops the Bluetooth signal, it drops both wifi and mobile data as well.
Anyone have similar problems or suggestions? I really don't want to have to exchange the phone, because I ordered it online so it'd be a pain to do.
Sounds like you got one of those 1% failures. Better swap it out!
Definitely.....I have same issue with first phone....now on second and evrythig is good

I have similar problem with A2DP streaming - random drops of sound every few minutes. No problem with other sources (I used many other phones before) . Additonally sound (voice) during calls is distored. This is so annoying. Apart from that issues G5 seems to be great phone.
Did you manage to solve the problem? Swap, other way?

SGN4 Bluetooth streaming drops after 30mins

Like it says, the bluetooth streaming with my SGN4 drops after 30mins, like clock work(no pun intended :laugh It doesn't matter what I'm paired with, or which app I'm using. I can't remember how long it's been an issue for me, as I usually only use the bluetooth streaming in the car, and my commute used to could be 35min. But I now have a set of Bose QC30s and it is really annoying to have to pull the phone out of my pocket, and turn the tunes back on every half an arn at work.
Since the note 7 is kaput, and the note 8 won't be around until fall I'd like to fix this. My next "upgrade" is 63 days out, and I love my note 4 elsewise. I never had connectivity issues with my SGS3, in fact it could even go 10hrs of music listening on wired headphones and did not have to be plugged in IIRC.
TIA,
Johnny
Almost forgot, I'm on stock rom Android 6.0.1, but the issue has existed for at least 6 months, yeah, I know, I shouldn't have put up with it for this long but I get busy and some stuff falls to the wayside...
You are not the first one to complain about it.
But I would suggest you to factory reset your device after backing up your data.
This solution worked for me though

Automaticly turn off bluetooth/or bluetooth headset after no playback for xxx minutes

Hi.
I've been looking for days, but finally had to make a thread of my own. Sorry, I know I should try and find the answer myself, but in this chase I just couldn't.
Jump to the last paragraph if you don't care for all the backstory.
Anyway, the "problem".
I like to listen to audiobooks when going to sleep. I use bluetooth earpods which I usually just fall sleep with in my ears (they are very comfortable, so it's not a problem..). However, I use a timer on my audiobook app so it automaticly turn off the playback every 20 minutes (or it will continue if I'm not sleepy yet, and press a button on the earpiece when I hear the sound starting to fade out.). This is a neat feature, since when I wake up the next day, I know I fell asleep somewhere within the last 20 minutes of where the book is paused, and it's easy to backtrack to the point before I dozed off.
Great!
However, the earpiece itself doesn't turn off, it stays connected to the phone thoughout the night, and the next day I usually have to charge it before I can use it again (depending on how much I used them before going to bed, they usually work for like 14 hours before needing a recharge).
SO, I was wondering, is there some way to make my phone (Xperia XZ2) tell my earpiece to turn itself off if there is no audio playback for a given amount of minutes? Or simply turn off bluetooth all together? I think the earpiece will turn itself off after a while if it isn't connected to any BT source.
A have bought Tasker, thinking that could help me. But I have no idea what I'm doing.. I'm handy enough with technical stuff, so I should be able to do at least some fancy stuff you guys might come up with. It doesn't have to be pretty, it just have to work.
Thanks for reading and any response.
Regards, donkeyhigh
