[WIP] Transformer Prime Template for skins - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I'm making a template for my Prime to make my own Skin to protect the tablet. I have included the template in this post. I will also make a template for the backside of the dock later on.
I just tried the template with a piece of 3M DiNoc and everything seems to align pretty well. I couldnt check the speaker holes because when i heated the DiNoc the holes closed again. I will make some pictures tomorrow in the morning with daylight.
Do note that it is still work in progress. If you like it press thanks

Sample pictures of tablet skin added.

Outstanding! Thank You!

Thanks! Keep it up!

It would be nice to see a template that has a cut out where the dock is at the bottom (because of the people saying it doesn't fit well with the protectors)

I will see what i can do for you, but i'm not experiencing any problems with my protector.

Added some sample pictures

Any way you could attach the actual 1:1 scale? of the template?
That would be great.
- Thanks in Advance -

The dots on the template should be pretty much aligned. I made small holes with a pin but due too the nature of 3M DiNoc the holes "closed" again when i heated the material.

Hey JCreations, thanks a lot for putting this out here. Quick question: when you print this template what are your page size and margins?

thanks for the template, I modified it for the speaker and used with a clear vinyl i had at job...
attached the image..

Just print the png included in the rar as is, it should be just right.
@2fastkuztoms: Great to see it worked out for you. Could you by any chance see if the speakerholes are aligned correctly if you still have some clear vinyl?
I will be making the other templates shortly, so keep an eye out for this topic =)

[Q] Back Cover Template

I'd like to make my own skin for the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Does anyone happen to have a template of the back cover that I can use to make a skin or could point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Scans of an extra skin I have sitting here. The size is almost perfect; I'd alter it by taking off the corners (they frayed and I ended up cutting some of them off); and the top piece (where the camera is) could be extended on the left side by a half mm or so. Hope it helps!
I appreciate the response. Is there any way to make the scans darker? They're barely visible. Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't have access to any photo editing software. I assumed you had something (since you're planning to make a skin!). I would suggest applying an effect like "solarize" or "find edges." Good luck! Post photos and maybe instructions if you're successful!
I wasn't planning on doing anything complex, just hoping to trace off a template and cut out with an exacto knife.
If anyone else out there has a template, please post it. Thanks.

Make your own Lumia 920. Template attached.

Just for fun, I knocked up this paper template in Photoshop.
Print out on A4 glossy paper and cut out the tabs and fold and stick to make your very own dummy Lumia 920. Gives you a good idea of size and thickness.
Print at 100% for true dimensions.
I am totally going to try this. Thanks!
Wow pretty cool.
Sent from my Lumia 900 using Board Express
which app you use for print?
opened in Photoshop (v12.1) but 100% not right scale...
also tried printer photo app look attached screens to see how is opened
Strange I uploaded it at 100%. Open in Photoshop and go to Image, Image Size and change Document Size to Width=17.39cm and Height=17.11cm and that will make it 100%
Here is the mockup.
Haha solid- here's my new Lumia next to the HD7
Brilliant!
Its about the same size as a HTC Titan but smaller screen.

HTC Jetstream Main Board

Here is a picture of the main board of a Jetstream. I took off the heat cover doors, but other than that yours will look the same. For reference -- these components are very near the microSD slot, but face the LCD screen.
Note the Samsung memory in the top left!
Thanks finniest, can we have the big picture file instead of this small one?

Hardware "MOD" - Sucessful tansfer of D800 (White) Main Internal Board in D801 Black

Hardware "MOD" - Sucessful tansfer of D800 (White) Main Internal Board in D801 Black
Just for the information of others, I just got done putting together a LG G2 "Frankenstein."
I had a perfect White D800 but also had a slightly scratched and used D801 Black. I REALLY like the black screen better than the White (for now ) and was looking forward to not worrying about even a little scratch that can happen on the white D800 but wasnt willing to spend the money on a D800 black replacement screen.
So I figured that the D800 and D801 are close enough i could just try and transfer the main board with my CM11 and interal storage on to the Tmobile version.
IT WORKED!
I will updated over the next day if people are interested and tell how the signal goes.
I haven't gotten to putting the SIM in and testing apn and stuff but i was excited and wanted to post!
If you guys (or mod) think this should moved to the Original Dev or any other section let me know.
Pictures!
Here's a link to my drive with the photos
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3pdxnQ-ZDs7X25qWWpMNFUxR0U&usp=sharing
UPDATE
I popped the SIM in and there has been no loss in signal. I registered it on the ATT network and rebooted, worked like a charm.
I have noticed that there seems to be a little bit of pressure on the screen as it is pushed out just enough I can see light from the backlight coming out of the edge of the screen. I'm not sure if something isn't sitting right or what.
I'll do more investigation today and then update.
UPDATE #2
Screen popping out is not due to any uneven parts. The last person to work on the D801 Did not put it back in correctly. the light signal issues Its having is due to my resent flash of the KK modem. So, all good so far!
I will update if things change!
UPDATE #3
Photo's added due to request! (thanks D_Mon88!)
I found a connector that was not present in the black version but was in the white.
I moved the connector over and it has made my signal SO much better. The connector joined a cluster of antenna at the bottom to the board so that explains why.
Update #4
This will probably be my last update unless something changes or someone requests. I found the back screen was missing 3 resistors on one of the ribbon cables. Because of this I reverted back to the full white screen. I am however taking the main board from the D801(T-Mobile) and putting it in the D800. That way I will have unlocked bootloader, with the duel boot bootloader found in the original android development thread for the internat. and tmob. variants.

awesome, looking forward to it. i've backed my g2 with leather to make it look a bit special, but your storm trooper combo must look really sharp.
i like white phones, but like you i think the bezel just has to be black to give the screen a great edge to edge look.
Sweet!

Im in the exact same boat, love white phones but the bezel has to be black. Youre exactly right, the black just makes the screen look great! In the case of my phone it makes it look really skinny too.

Hello! Sorry its taken so long, I've been really busy, but pictures are finally here.
Its far from perfect...I used a patch of leather that had a bit of print on it, and the edges aren't that great because I initially had a homemade smart cover attached that started to annoy me and got snipped off crudely with massive scissors, but it feels great and I'm happy enough with it. Let me know what you think.
If anyone really likes it I have some spare materials, I can make a better one and send internationally for about £15 all inclusive
sorry for the awful iphone photos...what can i say, my bro has questionable taste...

thanks, its ok, i'm happy with it. soft touch spray sounds like it'd be really nice too. i dont know what you can get where you are or what kind of cool sprays might be out there, but check out a material called plastidip. i have a bunch here ( unfortunately in a nasty beige colour ) and it puts a smooth rubberlike coating on things and peels off perfectly cleanly if you decide you don't want it. they use it on cars a lot, and you can get it mixed with any pigment you want, even add pearl, metal, matte, gloss and glow in the dark finishes if you want.
let us know how it goes along with pictures when its done please

I will definitely post pictures as soon as i get it done! I might end up changing the name of the post to encompass the fact that we're now also showing other hardware modifications. Think that's a good idea?
Yeah I suppose you should
Its so easy to go off topic...its up to you, but I guess it'd be good if other people ate interested too.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
I always thought it'd be cool yo have a ceramic phone or one with an enamel coating. Maybe you can find some kind of soft touch glaze or something. Good luck!

I got the TMobile D802 for free. and i didnt have it before, just the white D800. But I could have just bought one for the back of the black. However, The black D802 had many other parts missing like buttons and the back two housings. I wish I had all the pieces for the D802!
Yay so I should be able to transfer my d800 main board to this :

Correct? You just change the board and nothing else ?

Capacitive touch buttons do not light up

Hi guys,
I just received my one plus x today. The phone is amazing both in looks and performance.
However, i noticed that my capacitive touch buttons do not light up ever. It is hard to spot them even in full light. I just wanted to make sure I did not receive a defective piece. Is it supposed to be like this?
Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Your question has been answered two posts above yours already.
I don't really care because i use sofware navbar, but i don't see why they didn't make lights for the capacive buttons. Is it so hard and expensive to make? Because it could be nice
The idea is to conserve battery?
This is awesome. One less thing to disable. Backlight in buttons is really dumb. It´s just two or three buttons. How can someone not remember two to three buttons?
I've come up with a procedure to compensate for the lack of backlit capacitive keys:
Materials required:
Scotch tape
A glow-in-the-dark paint pen
Steps:
Place a piece of scotch tape over the bottom bezel.
Using the paint pen, draw the appropriate symbols on the scotch tape directly over the capacitive keys.
Wait for the paint to dry per the instructions on the paint pen. (Note: Baking the device to speed up the paint drying process is not recommended!)
Wallah!!! :good:

But there is no danger in it, so you could try it at home or your office, wherever...
Looking at most of the photos of this phone, it was difficult to see that this phone had capacitive buttons. Not to mention some photos with the software navibar on. I know it's nice to have options, but with a phone this size, I'm almost rather they reduced the bottom a bit more in favor of a slightly longer screen and opted for just the software navibar.

you dont even need to use doubletap2wake because this phone uses active notifications and motion sensors to switch the screen on whenever it is taken out of the pocket or picked up.
