[Q] Can you skip the last firmware update? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Quick question, sorry if its been addressed. I was one of the lucky ones who's Prime got bricked after the firmware update last week. I got it to work again and decided not to install the problematic update.
My question is, can you update to ICS over the air without having that previous firmware update installed or do I have to manually install ICS?

Quick question on update?

hey I recently just bought a new htc hero rooted on v1.6
Since 1.6 is kinda out of date now so I was planning to update the software via the official site to 2.1 as I dont have the technical experience to flash a rom myself.
But my question is can update via the official installer thingy? or if my phone if rooted do i HAVE to use the rom flashing method?
I just needed to know just in case i completely mess up the phone
Thx.

HTC hasn't released the 2.1 update for the Hero yet,... We hope to get it by the start of next month.
There are however, ports of the leaked CDMA 2.1 update available to try out in the development section.
Once the update has been officially released, I would suggest waiting for a rooted version to be posted here on XDA rather than installing it from HTC themselves as the official update may close access to root in future.
and fwiw: you are on android1.5, not 1.6.

[Q] If rooted will i be able to recieve update for update from rogers?

I was just curious to know that if i decide to root my phone will i be able to receive updates from rogers ? since the Android update is coming i don't want to hear that "i wont get it cause i rooted it".
Thank you
I'd have to say yes. I set mine back to the old 14 firmware and made sure it read 10a then did the official update. As long as the Rogers update is above the f/w you're installing IMO you'll be fine.

[Q] OTA downgraded me to 4.0.4?

Any idea why my newly purchased (as of Friday, 8/9/13) would receive an OTA downgrade to 4.0.4? When I first received the device it was running 4.1.1, but I got an OTA this morning and figured I would accept it since I wasn't rooted, etc. It downgraded my device to 4.0.4 11c and now I can't get any updates. Is this a known problem? I've tried searching and I can't find any information about it.
Thanks

Unable to update

Hi, last December I bought an international One X+ at Vodafone Czech Republic (unbranded) and started playing with it immediately. After trying out several ROMs I decided that I was most satisfied with the stock version, only with root. Unfortunately I lost my original backup of the stock ROM so I used the link towards the stock RUUs in hasoon's toolkit. Then I was stupid enough to flash the newest European RUU I found without knowing which one I had originally: 1.17.401.1. I also flashed back the stock recovery since I believed that it will enable OTA updates in the future. Everything was fine until today when I wanted to update to 4.2.2 and encountered a problem - the update downloads successfully and the installation starts only to be interrupted approximately one third along the way and the phone reboots. Any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks a lot guys!

You might try it a few times. If you are unable to download the OTA - it means you are good to go for OTA...

[Q]

Hi everyone
finally i just received my pro u
just a question I only received the first update written in Chinese and now it tells me that the smartphone is up to date current version 20180227 and google security of February 5th.
Do you have an idea ?
Ps : I already tried to clear the cache
Elephone has problems with OTA updates but @skeleton1911 (developer) said that the newest update should be able to upgrade via OTA but this might take some time because the update isn't shipped to everyone in the same moment. So you have to wait a few days.
Otherwise you can update via QFIL and Stock Rom files available on XDA.

Yup
And also I have the newest full OTA files. To manuall update via fota app or recovery.
I can provide them later when I am home.
But better would be to wait. Because I already dumped the new update and will release the full rom soon .
