HP Touchpad Keyboard not found by Xron? - TouchPad General

Hey all, I bought the TP and it came with a bluetooth keyboard which is extremely responsive and portable - it works awesome with the HP software, anyway.
I wanted to use it with my phones (CM7 Inspire 4g and CM7 Evo 4g) at first and found basically nothing on the subject, but then I got a wild hair and tried it with the CM7 Touchpad - NOTHING. Even though it still has the settings and works great with the webOS software.
Any ideas? I'm sure I'm not the only one!

Mine works. Are you just turning it on or is it failing to pair?

About ready to put this thing up on ebay

I bought a bluetooth keyboard--just happens to be an apple wireless keyboard because my iphone supports it too--to use with my gtablet. Every time it connects, it allows a bit of entry--using either blueinput or the hidd --connect <deviceid> etc, then it crashes. It crashes repeatedly. I am running vegantab 5.1. It was working very well last night but all of the sudden it stopped working. Now, I am a developer and I'm familiar with heisenbugs. We had a vendor named hank who helped us install windchill on top of oracle and NT. When he wasn't around the software crashed, but when he stood behind us we couldn't get it to crash. The same thing's happening here I think. Nothing changed to the tablet since last night and while at my house it was working for hours, now it is coming up "connecting to apple wireless keyboard" and then in rapid succession "apple wireless keyboard disconnected". Its really frustrating. Any ideas? I imagine this would happen with any bluetooth hid device.

ROFL!!!! Yeah Not shure what it is but it could be the keyboard and not the tablet. Maybe its ment for apple only products?
Dell streak with android supports AWK and magic mouse:
http://thetechjournal.com/tech-news/dell-streak-with-bluetooth-keyboard-and-mouse.xhtml
I'm using the same keyboard with ZPad Clean 3.0 (and the kernel in my sig) and the latest blueinput demo with great success. I think you could rule out the tablet and ROM by trying that combo and see if there is a change in performance of the keyboard.
Miphonematt: I'll give that build a try. Given the research I have done, I think its in the kernel not in the drivers or the hardware. I'm looking at the kernel drivers now. I wish I could figure out how to debug this sucker--not that I haven't done a ton of remote debugging before...
Nope, same exact problem. Behaves exactly the same as on other roms...

Works fine
with my iphone and ios 3.1. Works on other phones with android. other bluetooth keyboards work with android. What makes the AWK so special, especially when it works on other versions of android and linux and windows?

[Got It!] Pair Motorola Bluetooth Wireless KB with Evo 3D!!

So pardon me if this is an unnecessary thread, or if no one else has ever had this issue but it drove me insane trying to figure out how to get this to work. That being said, I discovered how to pair the Motorola bluetooth keyboard (the one made for the Xoom) with our HTC Evo 3D. If anyone has ever tried this/ own's the Moto keyboard, you probably know that if you just put the device in pairing mode and try to pair it just won't work. You get a box that pops up for a split second with a pairing code and then it disappears right away before you can punch it in. But I knew that the keyboard and the Evo both do bt HID. So I did tons of digging and searching and couldn't find ANYTHING on how to get it to pair with the EVO 3D (apparently it pairs normally and just fine with just about everything else that supports bt HID devices). Finally I looked in the manual, and noticed a special pairing mode that is supposed to be used when pairing with a computer. I figured "what the hell" and gave it a try with the Evo and it worked!!! To get the Moto Bluetooth keyboard paired with the Evo 3d here's whatcha gotta do:
1. Put the Moto keyboard in "computer pairing mode" by holding down the keys V + A + R while powering on the keyboard. (I kept them pressed even after releasing the power button until the green indicator light on the keyboard stayed lit indicating it was in pairing mode)
2. On your phone in the bluetooth settings menu, select "search for devices"
3. Now when the Motorola keyboard shows up, select it and when the box pops up prompting you to enter a pairing code it will remain on the screen for as long as you need to put the code in.
4. ON THE MOTO KEYBOARD enter in the numeric code that your phone gives you as the pairing code then PRESS THE ENTER KEY on the keyboard (it doesn't say that you need to, but it will not work if you don't).
Woo-hoo! The keyboard is now paired with the Evo 3D!! It actually works really well with the phone (No lag, or any beefs that I've got at least. I actually typed this whole post on my Evo with the Moto keyboard) and even some of the Android Specific function keys that were designed for the Xoom are working for me I hope that this helped anyone out there that was frustrated and couldn't figure out how to pair this awesome keyboard with this beastly phone.
sweet i still have my keyboard from when i had the xoom. thanks for reminding me about it now if the phone just had a kickstand built in

Hey man, I'm glad I could help you out! I remember when I was trying to figure it out, I'd all but given up lol. I'm glad I could help someone else out with getting it to work
Thanks for this! Helped me pair with my Sensation 4G and my hp touchpad. If only bluetooth worked on the ICS ports for the xoom...lol
I hope people are still looking at this thread.
The pairing went flawlessly, but I cant type .
In settings it says Paired, but not connected.
The keyboard flashes 5 times and stays off, it does this over and over.
And when I type the Bluetooth settings say it is connected for 1 second and then it is not connected anymore
I hope this is enough info .
Thanks in advance
Haven't ever heard of a problem like that. Weird... After you successfully paired, try long pressing on the keyboard in Bluetooth settings and see what it says. Also, this may sound silly, but try some brand new batteries.

THANK YOU cuz now my Samsung Charge connects with bluetooth keyboard!
Thank You Thank You Tyler MF -- for the directions to pair a motorola keyboard (for xoom).
I have been searching far and wide for the key to pairing my Samsung Droid Charge with the same keyboard you are using. Everything said it was possible, theoretically, but I was having the same experience you did with the Evo.
My employer issued me a laptop and I drive around three counties all day for work and I really needed a device (not locked down by an IT department) that I could quickly type notes to document my work and to respond to lengthier emails and texts. I got an Asus Transformer, which is a very nice device, but too much extra weight to add to my briefcase, especially since it is extra effort to go online with it.
But now! Thanks to you! I can do all of this work on my phone with the Motorola Keyboard and the Logitech bluetooth mouse !!
Sweet!!:victory:
Really glad this helped ya out man! And I'm glad that after all this time has passed since I typed this people are still able to find it and make use of it Always does my heart good to rescue another from the clutches of the IT lockdown Nazis lol

SGS2 pairing with Motorola bluetooth keyboard
Many thanks. You've helped me pair my keyboard with my galaxy gear
it’s 2020 and I’m very grateful for this thread.
I had been using my motorola keyboard with an ipad pro 2nd gen well enough, but when I swapped out the dead nonrechargeable batteries for new rechargeable ones, I had a helluva time reconnecting. I went thru connection procedure in manual at least like 5 times and was so angry at the disappearing passcode. I saw the VAR computer mode in the manual but since it was 4am I was gonna give up. Til I saw this thread which confirmed to me that I should have tried it all along.
Anyways, I’m typing thank you on a paired motorola keyboard at least 6 years (Edit: actually nearly a decade!) later from OP. Oh and it’s nearly 5am bc it took me so long to make an account oops. Since OP’s signature mentions a galaxy s ii, I don’t think they will necessarily respond but I just wanted to express gratitude for this forum’s existence

HP Touchpad Bluetooth phone support.

I have a 16gb HP Touchpad running webOS 3.0.4. Anyway, I was messing around with the Bluetooth on my TP and was trying Bluetooth this photo to my TP from my Nokia Lumia 710 Windows phone and I forgot it was still connected and my TP started ringing and I noticed my phone was also and I was able to answer it with the touchpad and talk and hear the other person. It was so cool lol. I have been trying to get that to work a while ago and gave up because none of my other phones I had ever worked. I also remembered a thread on what phones worked with the touchpad but couldn't find it to add that Nokia Lumia 710 WORKED and possibly all or some other windows phones works.
It also works on samsung galaxy S!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
It also works with my blackberry curve. I can even receive and reply to texts from the touchpad

my u8800 is working that way with tp webos too. Its sooo cool, i wish i could do that running android too,
Yeah, one of the last couple updates made it so that option was available for all phones. But not text messaging. I think it depends on the phone. I dont see why something hasnt been made for an android tablet and an android phone to do the same thing. Its just a bluetooth connection. Whats so hard about that?
By the way OP, I beleive the latest webOS version for the Touchpad is 3.0.5 if you wanna try updating.
I made a thread about this, you can get some phones to support the text messaging with the touchpad, go to the link below.

BT Mouse

Hi all!
I bought a cheap dx.com BT mouse, in the hope that it would work with my tablet.
It doesn't, and after some testing around, I've found out that the same mouse works with my Samsung Galaxy S II.
Would there be an easy fix to this issue?
Both are upgraded to Jelly Bean (neither stock). I was hoping that when I upgraded my TF201 to JB it would have worked (as my phone was on JB when I tested it) - but obviously it didn't.
So, I know it's all a bit airy fairy but, any help, anyone?
e: Oh, I should add, that the mouse connects and pairs to my TF201 fine. It simply doesn't move the mouse, with the keyboard dock in or not.

I wasted a lot of time and money trying to get a couple cheap BT mice to work on the Prime. Best advice is to forget them and get either Logitech V470 or Microsoft BT Notebook Mouse 5000. As far as I have read these are the only two that work reliably on our devices though I believe Asus themselves make one too.
I got a refurb MS one off eBay for £14 and it works great.

Nope, both are rooted and on custom JB roms.
Thanks for all the responses guys - I'll now go look in to a bluetooth address finder on the play store.
Thanks!
My experience mirrors those of Restorer -- but I didn't go through that many.
I purchased an inexpensive Bluetooth mouse and found that it worked terribly (to be charitable). Skips, lack of response, constant resets etc. I exchanged it and found that the replacement worked just as bad. That led me to the conclusion that it didn't like that mouse. I ended up buying a Logitech v470 which has worked flawlessly.

Help with wireless and minecraft PE

I've posted in several minecraft forums with no luck, so here goes.
I have two HTC Flyer's running stock 3.2.1 with Sense.
My boys enjoy playing minecraft pe and connecting to one another.
The problem is that neither Flyer will host a game.
I can start a game on an ipad, iphone 4s, touchpad with cm9, and other devices, and the Flyers will find each game and connect no problem.
When I try to start a game on the Flyer and set server visible, I can not get any device to find the game.
All are on the same wifi and have tried multiple routers.
It appears to be something in the way the Flyer handles the Wifi, but I can not find any settings or tweaks that work.
Any suggestions?
I've thought of trying a different rom, but the boys use the tablet's to skype with their grandparents and all the newer roms do not have the camera functional.
Thanks
Mmm, well my friend and I play it together as well... He opens a wifi hotspot (even though he has no 3G plan/connection) and I connect to it and play... We have phones, could it be that u need a SIM device to enable wifi hotspots? Try doing same with 2 iPads, if wont work then you need to have the host with a SIM device... Is their a problem if someone playes on iPad other one on Flyer?
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
Problem appears to only be with the flyer acting as host.
If I open a game on an ipad, iphone, or other android tablet (even opened one on an mk802) and the flyers can connect to it every time. However, when I start a game one either flyer, nothing can see or connect to the game.
Try reinstalling Minecraft, or check the Visible/Invisible Server settings.

Done both of those and even that didn't help. I've ran through as much trouble shooting as I can, that's waht led me to believe it had to do with something the flyer was doind in how it handle wifi on minecraft.

Finally figured it out. After much googling and reading, I accidently left the flyer part off a search and ran across a thread with the same problem on an HTC desire.
Seems it is bug with Sense 3.0 and minecraft pe. So far nothing has been done to attempt a fix.
So now I'm trying to figure out the best rom to choose in which camera functions and sense has been stripped.
Thanks to everyone for their input and thoughts.
