Weird Pixilation ICS? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I recently upgrade my Prime to ICS, and it works fine except that I get a weird pixilation and lines that go through certain screens. Any thoughts on why it does this? It's not consistent, but happens enough it's annoying. I tried wiping the tablet, but I haven't tried reinstalling the update. Thanks in advance.

Your not alone with this problem. I get the same effect alot

I called ASUS and they said they are working on a fix for it. Who knows how long that will take. haha. Although, I have noticed that using NOVA launcher seems to help a lot opposed to the stock launcher. There's a post about it in the Nexus app section. I use it on my Galaxy Note with ICS and it's way better than any stock launcher. Check it out if you have some time.

I've had this a couple times. I then changed to a static wallpaper, from a live wallpaper, and it seemed to not give occasional horizontal "staticy" lines.
By any chance are you using live wallpaper?
I've never had the vertical window blinds effect from two posts up though.

[Q] Live wallpaper stops in between homescreens

I just got a 16GB WiFi HTC Flyer. It's on stock GB 2.3.3 and using Sense 2.1 for tablet. I like to use live wallpapers, and I'm certain that the flyer can handle them, but when I swipe back and forth through homescreens, the wallpaper seems to pause in between screens. I don't know if this is because of Sense or if it's perfectly normal. Anyone else experience this problem and if so how did you fix it?
Mine too, evo 3d works fine.

I believe that this is a sense issue. If you have another launcher running and a live wallpaper the transition is smooth.
Out of curiosity, what LWP are you using?

I thought it may have something to do with Sense as well. I used launcher pro and tested the Sense photo blur LWP and the transition was smooth. I hope this issue is addressed in an update. It's not a huge deal but it does take away from the user experience.

I agree, its very hard not to notice it.
I believe it's because in newer versions of Sense (I think from 3.0 and above) there is a problem with the launcher can't detect the transitions or the screens' positions or something like that..
There are some wallpapers that say in the info part "not compatible with sense 3 devices"
Even in normal wallpapers you can notice that when you move from screen to another, the wallpaper remains still and doesn't show more of if you understand what i mean

Anyone else have this issue (Go Launcher)

When switch my nook it landscape mode on the home screen (by turning it horizontal) and then moving it back to portrait mode, my wall paper seems to zoom in. Im wondering if its just a go launcher thing or i messed something up somewhere along the line.
Can someone test for me? Im using the standard built in nook wallpapers.

Have you rooted and installed gapps on your device? I noticed immediately after rebooting that the wallpaper was being stretched, even before installing go launcher. I dunno what is up.
I have a wallpaper i downloaded, and i don't appear to have this issue.

Yes i have. I even did a system restore to see if that fixed it, and it did not. Right now i just disabled auto rotate on the home screen and set the background to vertical mode (in the luncher settings).
This is the onlyway i can make it so itdoesnt zoom in.

Is it a Hd wallpaper like the ones that came with the nook tablet? Do u mind setting your background to one ofthe default wallpapers and testing?

Ive noticed that the NT's default pictures app does a pretty terrible job with wallpaper cropping. I have much more success when i set wallpapers directly from dolphin browser. The 1024x600 resolution also doesnt seem suited to alot of the wallpaper apps either. Ive had more success downloading 1024x1024 wallpapers from sites that tailor to the iPad.

The standard Go wallpapers (like the vertical rainbow), seem to work fine for me. I too, have found images set directly from Dolphin seem too look the best though.
*edit* Just recreated what you're describing. Does it with nook wallpapers, but everything seems to work fine for me.

These are the dimensions I found to work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19647527#post19647527
And I too, am seeing the zooming effect using 3 different launchers.
Had the same problem with custom wallpapers, Wallpaper Wizardrii (from market) seems to be able to properly size the wallpapers so there's no strange zooming. Use the 'stretch' option on a wallpaper that's larger than the vertical dimension (1024).
cheers

[Q] widgets not loading on reboot (golauncher)

So, after much effort customizing and arranging my widgets, they've decided not to work properly after reboot.
Weather Forecast shows a gray "loading" box, Retro Clock loads halfway/aligns incorrectly, Glass Widgets don't appear at all, and UberMusic sometimes loads, sometimes doesn't. All are installed on /data, not on my sdcard.
This problem doesn't appear to be confined to the NT but I haven't seen a real solution anywhere. Would be grateful for any insights.
Search is your friend....

In my agitation I posted after only a cursory google search, thereby breaking the cardinal rule of posting on forums.
*slinks away in shame
PS. Thank you!
I tried moving to /system/app and also leaving in /data/app with a link to /system/app with no luck. The clock widget will load but my weather will not. Don't know if it matter but with the weather app it doesn't say that it failed to load. Instead it just says "loading..." and will stay that way without loading.
Anyone else with this issue?

I had the same issue with Go Launcher, actually had to go back to ADW Launcher EX because of it.
Feel better soon!
Thanks for the well wishes, still not feeling better (getting 4 mg morphine now--for pain talking good stuff). Hospitals amaze me, I think my eight year old is better organized. Miss my Dev rig. Sorry just needed to ramble. Btw, for any mothers out there....Happy day to you..

Problems with stock Widgets

So I looked around a little and didn't find a lot about this. What the hell was ASUS thinking when they decided the sizes of their widgets. Their mail widget for starters, the one that shows the about of unread mail, graphically takes up a 2x1 space, yet in actuality, its a 3x1 widget. The same goes for their date and weather widget, they take up more room than the actually widget does. Why? It's a waste of space. Has anyone gotten their hands dirty with this enough to trim the fat off them and put up the .apk for a download? Don't get me wrong they are some of they best looking widgets I've seen on any device, but with every step forward ASUS seems to be on on this tablet, they seem to have hit a brick wall so hard that it rebounds them 10 steps back from the competition.
Another thing, Myzine or whatever they call that behemoth of a widget doesn't work at all, It can be placed but as soon as I touch it, it crashes. WTF bro?

good points. I don't even use the ASUS battery widget anymore. I use the battery widget a person came up with here. it looks and performs way better than stock. plus you have a few options on how you want it to look. its in the themes and apps section. title is like modded Asus battery widget or something.
as for myzine, I don't use it. it looks like it will drain extra battery n use up ram in the background..lol. looks cool though. I wish it was customizable.
I will definitely look into that thank you. Has anyone gotten the Asus task app to play well with ADW launcher? Mine only shows the top 3 tasks.

That killed me too because I always use the Asus time/date, email, battery, and task manager widgets. I use Nova Launcher (Prime paid version) and I accidentally found a check box in Nova settings under the "check for updates" section. By default it only checks for the newest stable version ( the version in the Play Store ) but if you check the box, there's a newer beta version you can get and man is it sweet
The 2 major differences are the " jump to page x " ( like ADW/ hubs ) and the best thing ever...you can now overlap any and every widget with another widget. On top of that, if you overlap 2 widgets you can select " bring to front" or "send to back" for each widget so you can have either one on top or bottom. Basically, you can put a widget wherever you want, no matter how many other widgets you already have:laugh:
It's one of the coolest new features I've seen in a long time, and never really thought it was possible. Nova Prime is definitely worth the couple bucks, but I'm not sure if you need the paid version to get the newer "hidden" beta version. That feature changes everything, and should help with your problem:good

2nd on nova prime pro. Overlapping widgets is pretty boss esp when it comes to stock widgets.
Apex seems pretty similar i just liked nova better. Check both out, either is better than stock >.<

Twitchy launcher and home screen

Recently my launcher and homescreen have been really twitchy. The it's almost like the entire screen moves a couple pixels diagonally back and forth but it doesn't affect the apps. I'm not positive but so far it seems as though it may only be when docked to the keyboard.
Anyone else experience this?

are you using a custom launcher at all? im using Nova Launcher and every time i open my homescreen my background picture unloads, loads, unloads again, all widgets lose their images, and then everything works fine. probably an issue with the launcher though.
Something similar happened to me while I was on stock WW .28 after very long uptime (300 hrs+) on stock launcher. Rebooting fixed it. On custom Rom I haven't had this issue.

Stock launcher. The issue was real bad on Androwook and Virtuous so I went back to the stock .28. I've only seen it once so far on stock.
I'm using CM10 unofficial and isn't this problem. (But there is occasional SOD)
