White S2 peeling body?? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, got my white galaxy S2, about 3 days ago, and im already having some issues.
Issue #1, the chrome part thats on the perimeter is peeling/chipping. I have 2 spots where this is occuring, both are near the home button where i guess my fingers rub the most. I had a Black S2 before, never noticed that....well maybe because i couldnt see it on black You can barely see it on the 2nd picture in the bottom left corner. Also, around my volume button and power button, the chrome seems SOOO poorly crafted. Its hard to see on the picture, but it looks a lot worse in real life. I wouldnt complain if i had the phone for at least a few months, but after only 3 days? Bought my phone on Kijiji, and it was sealed at the back so i doubt it was used before, unless the seller did an amazing job at restoring his phone to be brand new.
Issue #2, LAGZORZ!! I rooted and unlocked the phone, got RevoHD ROM which ran without ANY lag on my old black S2 and i always used TW4 because thats the only launcher where i had no lag whats so ever. TW is plain but the simpler the better Now thought...i get minor lag in my app drawer and when i scroll screens. Homescreen is crowded with active widgets like youtube and And.Market, now i know its putting a lot of stress on the phone, but i didnt get any of that with my black S2.
Tried RevoHD and LeoMar75 ROMS, tried different kernels, different governors, clock speeds, and i still cant get the same result as i had on my old phone. Experimented with Siyah @ 1600 but kept getting boot loops (this never happened on my old phone).
Anyone else having any problems such as mine with their white S2's?

I don't have the lagging issues, but my silver bezel is peeling off. A lot. Looks like crap really. I've ordered a bumper though to hide it, so at least it shouldn't get any worse.

O boy o boy.. I got me here one of them Fotonz

Well i woke up and drove out to sprint way earlier today.
I have to admit, i did give a split thought to the evo3d because they got the 2.3.4 update. But no way could it make everything perfect in that ota. So i went with my original choice.
This phone is sexy. It is really fast... doing side by side actions with the epic on gb, the photon was twice as fast if not more in some areas.
Pure computing power this phone noticeably crushes my epic.
Not once was i frustrated an app didnt open instantly, how
I wanted my epic experience to be.
The fone is growing on me and i love it more the longer i have it.
I love the MOTOBLUR. Great balance between pure google and overlay ui. Very cool experience you cant find with any other oem ui.
Like the extensive integration with social networks.
I love how the stock music player does the lyrics, that was a surprise today. And many other cool things but i have to cut this short. But i have to mention, the screens on the display units are not the same on our consumer handsets. It looked complete trash on the demo, but my fone screen is amazing.. no screen issues at all. I did have call bug very first call. Remove sim and im good.
And lastly, i understand about you guys saying youre not eorried about the Galaxy anymore. I may keep this.
Something about pulling up gps status and getting INSTANT 9 of 9 sats inside the appartment with zero error that makes me feel all warm and goey inside

Very cool you got u one of these Mo-Phos... I think you'll like it.
I'm still on the fence as to whether i'm going to perma-keep mines.. lol
when the GS2 comes out, I'll play with it for sure, but if it has crippled GPS/bluetooth, I'll just stick w/ moto this time.

Anything wrong with the display, or is this normal in SAMOLED+?

Please refer to the picture below. Do you spot any abnormalities with my SAMOLED+ display? The yellow tint is gone after flashing to 2.3.5, but the area in the lower left is still showing a lighter tone--like a right triangle; so does a small area on the upper left. Also, the brightness (as I've noticed in other S2's) is not evenly distributed across the screen. These problems are hardly visible in normal use, but it becomes visible in grey backgrounds, and notifications area, and lowest brightness in web browser. Please let me know, thanks.

so, what do you all think? Please let me know thank you.
Mine looks exactly like that: triangle in bottom left, splotch in top right, and whole left seems a little dimmer than the rest. I haven't installed any updates & bought mine in South Africa; where did you get yours? I was honestly under the impression that AMOLED was the technology to go for, but now I'm not so sure anymore.
At first I was going to ignore the lighting defects and the pink tint in the center of camera images as there aren't that severe, but now I've found my phone's earpiece probably has a problem too. It makes a crackly noise during calls that sounds like something's loose in the speaker, so I reckon it's time to send this one back...
Update: I got mine replaced today due to the speaker problem, and the new one has neither the triangle nor the splotch. It is still darker down the left side of the screen though, maybe even a bit more so than on the old one...
I had exactly the same issues (well, not exactly as mine were worse). I had to replace it twice. Now I have one without this issues, no yellowish border and little to no banding.
The guys at the service told me that if there is any problem now, I can get a new phone right away, but considering how many people have display problems, I would rather repair this one. It's display is suspiciously perfect...

Screen Issues (Please tell me I'm crazy)

Long story short, I got screwed by BB on a 11/24 preorder of a gray but at the last second got it on the friday before Christmas. Opened it, noticed the screen seemed washed out, compared it to my TF101 and it was very noticable. Thought I might be crazy but then noticed significant ghosting of the keyboard when it went away.
Somehow I snagged another one last Sunday from them and it just arrived. It does seem sharper but things don't have the depth of the TF101, maybe some apps were written different but I'm looking at the GMail at and its pretty clear.
The first pic is a side by side of the TF201 I got today and my TF101

The next is the first one I got vs. the one I got today, the one today definitely looks sharper but still washed out.
I took this with my Nexus, albeit not the best way but am I crazy or does the Prime looked more washed out than the original Transformer?
looks yellow like some others reported. could be wet glue?
Great.... well now BB has screwed me twice, I just checked there holiday return policy, everything except tablets.... I'm returning the first one tomorrow and I'm going to leave the new one plugged in and on for a few days, maybe it will go away. Anyone else notice the yellowing completely fading over time?

[Q] Issue with screen

I'm having some trouble with my amaze's screen. There is a region around the edge of the screen that sometimes (a lot) is unusable. It is roughly around 20 pixels from the edge. It is especially a nuisance when im trying to use the keyboard. For instance if i try to press the letter q, it will press w etc. Sometimes the screen flashes with this red border around the edge, resembling the area that i cannot use. I couldnt get a screenshot but i gimp'd up something that resembles what im talking about:

Any help would be appreciated. I've tried most ROMS and the prob still exists. I have not dropped or damaged my phone in any way. This just started happening recently.
So i turned on show touches in the developer options in settings to give a better idea of what my problem is.
This is what happens when i drag my finger from the top of the screen to the bottom:

Weird mark on screen on brand new phone

Hello, I just got my S9+ (less than a week ago) and I discovered after 4 days of use, a very strange mark on the screen that has no depth.

It's very noticeable when I try to clean the phone with a bit of water. The droplets pattern changes:
I haven't exposed the phone to any miss-use and I'm baffled by this, is hard to see when the screen is on but it's forever in my mind now.
Could this be the oleophobic coating or am I looking at something else?
Do you see the line when the display is turned on? Try to dial *#0*# and test the display. It seems like the oleophobic coating, because of the water, but I never seen something like that before.

It's very hard to notice when the screen is on in most conditions. I'm returning this phone and hopefully it will pass Amazon quality checks, wish me luck.
In all 10 years of having smartphones, I never had a phone with this kind of flaw.
Hello I am having the same reaction on my phone. Did you find out what it was?
Same issue here
Only visible with screen off in direct sunlight or water is on the phone
I returned the device with an attached letter to it where it stated what was the problem.
I got the return, no questions asked. I would recommend reaching Samsung or your retailer to get this fixed or another device. If asked, just explain that the scratch has no depth, so it couldn't have been your keys or something in your pocket, also stress your phone is new.
Similar issues were reported for the Galaxy note 8 and I found a YouTube video with an S9 and a similar problem.
If you don't return the device, I would expect the problem to get worse.
