Enable Voice Calling On Any WIFI Flyer - GB (Untested on EVO View but should work) - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I bought these headphones for voice calling and did a test run on my Best Buy WIFI Flyer: http://www.amazon.com/Skullcandy-Microphone-Control-Switch-S2INDY-045/dp/B004P1ITUS
Installing a compatible app, fast internet, an active google voice account and having the headphones such as the ones above you we are able to make and receive calls through our Tablets.
Now I used the same set up on all kinds of different Honeycomb ROMs and it did not work regardless of which one I used.
So to simplify, this is the procedure:
1.) Enable Wifi on your Tablet
2.) Download and install your preferred app for voice dialing. Mine required a sync to Google Voice which is awesome since I have all my contacts (List is here)
3.) Enable settings on the app to make or receive calls if necessary (Tap Settings < Troubleshooting and put a check mark on - Wifi Tablet)
4.) Plug in your headphone with mic or bluetooth if you can get it working, I couldnt make it work via bluetooth but only tried on one device)
4.) You are golden
Enjoy your voice calls now fully compatible on your Android Tablet

Sorry for the late reply, I havent been on xda for weeks now.
You may have to downgrade to a Gingerbread Rom first.
If you get it working on HC, hats off to you, but I was never able to get it properly working on that flavor of Android.

Google Voice..Is it fully functional with rooted NT?

As the title states...(minus the calling capabilities of course)
Thanks for the info.
Rob
If you refer to google voice for text messages and calls and not google voice search as some people get confused, then yes it works pretty well, but for make calls it does not work with other apps like groove IP , gvoice and so because of the lack of the proper drivers for the mic and possibly speaker too.
~ Veronica
Awesome thanks....yes I will just be using for the texting. When the NT is in sleep mode will it still notify you of an incoming message or do you have to manually check it? Also, when rooted do you get audible notifications for new messages and/or emails like you do on a regular Android tab or phone?

yes you can get audible notifications, and the notfications will not show up while nook is sleeping once you wake it up wifi will wake up too in few seconds and then you will have to wait until next refresh of google voice to check for new texts to finally show up in your notification status bar, i think it refresh every 5min but not sure and there is not option to set the refreshing time in google voice.

The only problem is that you cannot access your contacts list (since the Contacts application is not installed).

Nop, you can use your contacts while you sync them with your gmail account:

I've successfully texted using Google Voice with the NT (sent and received). I use GMail, but recently started using Contapps for viewing and text messaging/e-mailing my contacts on the tablet. It also has Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc integration. So far so good.
No go on the phone calling though.

Anyone uses Internet calling on S3?

I have 2 SIP accounts set-up under the Phone app > Call Settings > Internet call settings (Account).
There are times when I pick up an incoming VoIP call (caller calls one of my DIDs associated with one of my three accounts), I pick up and the sound is routed right away to the speaker of the S3 with no option/ way to make it go back to the earpiece.
Has anyone experienced? Can reproduce?
Can someone please try and report their findings?

I use it. Always got the sound thru earpiece. Have another problem - I cannot figure out how do options of calling work: for all calls when mobile network available, only for internet calls (what is that?), ask for every call. I use the last option, but it's annoying.
That's how I use it too. Couldn't figure out "Only for Internet Calls". I don't see the option under contacts or anywhere else.
Anyone knows?
Solution is found. Try Advanced Dialer app to filter dialed numbers for SIP routing through stock dialer.

Another issue: the native SIP client does not produce any DTMF tones!
Update: Jelly Bean fixed the DTMF tones issue. It is now working.
am I reading this right that VOIP calling is built into the OS now ? if yes how do I put my GV voip account into it ? right now I use groove ip
ICS had native VoIP and a built in SIP client, so does JB.
Kudos to Samsung and HTC for not removing that from the GT-I 9300 and the S720E.
Launch phone, you should be looking at the dialpad, contextual menu 》Call Settings, scroll all the way down to the Internet Call Settings section 》 Accounts.
You can add accounts there.
Note: Google Voice is not a VoIP provider and so you can use it with the SIP client.
I use Voice+ from the market place for Google voice on the S3.

Google Now with Bluetooth Device

Really ticked that I cannot figure this out....
So, I am running an ICS Rom with Google Now enabled hack.
I use bluetooth headphones and the Belkin bluetooth car adapter
Both of these products have a voice dialing feature. The problem is, that it launches the Voice Dialer app, which is as useful as bellybutton on a forehead.
I have the app Bluetooth Launch, which supposedly lets you program what happens when you push the voice dialing button on a bluetooth device. No luck.
I want to try to get rid of the Voice Dialer app using Titanium Backup, but I cannot find anything that come close to "Voice Dialer" on the list of apps.
Anybody know how to make Google Now the default Voice Dialing/Searching app when using a bluetooth device?
This is the app in question

I've been having the same issue on CM10.1. Bluetooth Launch doesn't work either.
See this post here:
http://brandtkrueger.wordpress.com/...voice-actions-the-default-instead-of-s-voice/
Basically with Google Now the Activity name is renamed.
Load "Bluetooth Launch" and choose the following:
Google Search->com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.VoiceSearchActivity
Works for me on my SIII and the Belkin CarAudio Connect AUX device, I did have to disable "S-Voice" within settings -- Applications and set Bluetooth Launch as the default launcher app to have it interop seamlessly.

how to remove incoming call with voice promts!!!

whenever I get an incoming call with caller ID, a lady's voice would voice prompt who is calling and it's so loud!!!
I just switched from S4 to S5. I remembered it did the same thing on my S4 when I first got it but I was able to quickly disable it. But with the S5, I tried and tried and couldn't find a solution. I'm not in driving mode FYI...
Any idea??? Thansks!

Did you install any app that requires access to "Accessibility"?
Some apps like Tasker requires you to enable accessibility and you will get a prompt that says "If you enable accessibility for that app, you won't be able to use talkback, air view.... etc...."
I remember that back in S4, it caused problems and made talkback becomes active from time to time even when it was unchecked due to a bug.
I don't know if you did change accessibility or not but just wanted to mention that.

this Call Recording app works well on Nokia 8

I have been reading a lot about call recording issues regarding Android pie. So I decided that i'll share a call recording app that I have been using that works very well on the Nokia 8.
Call Recorder found on F-Droid has been serving me quite well (https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.github.axet.callrecorder/) even before I rooted the phone. I have attached screenshots of the last 2 calls I recorded earlier in the month. If you are unrooted I suggest you leave settings as default first before fiddling with them. If you are rooted then you can use "Voice Line" as your source since it already works for me. Dont forget to select "Calls Recording" option in the 3-dot menu before testing it. It might also be wise to ensure that the 'skip silence' and 'disable battery optimization' options are enabled.
I hope you guys find this useful as me.

It works really well, coming from miui which has a great call recorder function built in, on Nokia 8 or any other android one device running pie this is the best way to have call recorder functionality.
My nokia 8 is non rooted and this app is working perfectly with no cracking sound from mic recording and proper contact name instead of unknown as with many other recorders i tried from play store.
