HTC-DEV site down for unlocking? - HTC EVO 3D

Just relocked my bootloader so i could update, all went well. On htcdev.com when i go to put in my identifier token, it hangs & then says,
"We're sorry! Site is currently under maintenance.
Please, come back later."
Kind of pissed I cant unlock my phone atm. Actually really pissed.
Just a warning to whomever might be wanting to do this today.
EDIT: Apparently its been down since around 7:30am EST

Tried probaby 20 times now. Ohh well, ill check back tonight. Sucks!

Interesting, seeing as I also have a new phone I just received from Sprint. Can anyone confirm that the unlock_token.bin I already have will work on my replacement? I'd do it myself but I am unable to currently. Also, does this mean HTC wouldn't know you were rooted, seeing as you didn't unlock through the site?
Thanks guys

Yeah - I am like -c'mon avaliability?!
I am a network admin and it is INCREDIBLE how long they can keep this site down and getting away with it.
We have contracts that state data availability on similar high-visited websites within 12 hours at any costs (if it is a software error which I assume is the case we usually provide "back to online" state within 2-3 hours). 12 hours is basically if the "house burns down". So I guess HTC burned down...

Yup, though the "funny" thing is that even it's giving me very many kind of errors (mostly that they are under maintenance, try again later), I have now exceeded my limit hehe.
Error Code: 300.
Error Reason: Request for unlock exceed limit.
Tried to send Htcdev a tweet on Twitter and see if I can get any response from them there.

And I would advice so aswell ;-) Hmm.. now.. whom to contact. Bah, will give it a shot tomorrow, hopefully it is a timelimit on this.

Well I have two evo3ds to root today so hopefully there back and running cause i have an appointment at 6pm and that's 5 hours away. HTC is screwing with my business. I make 25 every time I root a phone add ten for flashing roms. Now I'm out 70 bucks if they're not back up in five hours.
If they come back on for anyone will you post here so I know if its worth the drive to go pick up the phones to root.
Gotta say I'm happy with my boot 1.40

Down since last night
I started trying to unlock my shiny rezound Friday 7pm est. Received the same message. Sux.

I'm sorry but have to disagree with you there. Saying what you are going to do and actually doing it are two very different things. I can say I'm going to give you a thousand dollars but until I actually give it to you, what I say means nothing. When we have an HTC unlocked bootloader on our phones, then we can say HTC kept their part of the deal. Until then it's just lip service. Even if they do 'keep their end of the deal', there's still plenty of room for corporate shenanigans. Don't get me wrong, I think they ARE working on something. However, as has been mentioned by several members of our own dev community, there are easier, faster and more direct ways to get this project done and HTC has deliberately avoided these methods. I am worried that the something that HTC is working on will not be quite what we want and expect. Sure they may give us the koolaid but we might not like the flavor.
I think that what facebook poster Jerome is alluding to is correct. It can't possibly take that long (September) to just unlock the bootloader. S-OFF bootloaders already exist and have been around since the beginning. We know that they work. This is not a new tech that HTC needs to develop. I think the wait has more to do with corporate politics, legal wrangling and bureaucracy along with a healthy dose of ifs, ands, and buts than any technical or distribution issue. I also suspect that when we do finally see these unlocked bootloaders, we will have to hold our noses to install them as they will likely come with some inpalatable strings attached that we will be forced to agree to in order to use them.
That's why I really hope the dev community here can get it done before HTC finishes their 'pageantry'. I know the XDA community will give it to us straight-no additives or preservatives. Even if they can't, I still appreciate their efforts as I know they will have tried their best. Finding a way around HTC's new security is a very tall order! But if they do manage to pull it off, the glory and satisfaction of winning they would snatch from HTC would be marvelous!

Hey guys-
I've been trying to unlock the boot loader for my Sprint evo 3d on my Macbook Pro... lame I know. I'm at the point where in Terminal I have entered the directory for rootevo3dnew, but I cannot get the token code. Do any of you know how to solve this? Thanks

got my replacement today. fml.

So with everyone saying how they're getting replacements that have pre 1.5 bootloaders on them, I decided to take my chances and get mine replaced (a couple annoyances that I'd rather not deal with) and lo and behold, I've got a 1.5 bootloader... Just gotta wait for one of the devs to crack it, or find something else wrong with it and try my luck again

I think the under lying message to this post is . Hboot 1.30 and 1.40 are disappearing even when getting replacement phones . Mainly people such as myself who have recieved replacements are now stuck with Hboot 1.50 . Root is no longer an option for us unless we go the way of HTC and lose "some or all" parts of our warranty . Yes its a known fact that when you root your device you are voiding your warranty . Through use of rooting options such as Revolutionary , we have the ability to restore the phone back to full stock and then claim whatever warranty is needed . Many of us on here have showed concern as to how the warranty claim works in regards to HTC's method . I saw one post where a user had used the HTC unlock but was bringing the phone in for service . I havent seen any updates on that thread to see if sprint corrected the issue or not or if even "Unlocked" had any effect on that person's expierence during his visit to the store .
I'm hearing more and more of this...damn. Mine was attempted delivery today at 12:10p. My wife was home at 12:30p...so Fed Ex didn't leave it, as it requires signature. Argh! Had to sign that slip so they will drop it off tomorrow. Hopefully I don't have the 1.50...we'll see.

I wouldnt worry to much about doing it the HTC way. I am a Sprint tech and the chances of your phone actually going back to HTC are slim to none. If you bring it in for an advanced exchange it will go back to Sprints warehouse and they will refurbish it. By the time they realize it has been rooted you will already have another 3d and have no worries. I have checked every advanced exchange arrival for the last 3 weeks and 1 out of about 60 or so had a 1.3 hboot. 59 out of the 60 were already on 1.5. I dont see any issues to doing it the HTC way for now. Sure you cant flash kernels from the device but you can flash most roms with no issue. Its my opinion that people worry to much about the whole warranty being voided through unlocking the HTC way. Its way better than having no root at all
You can flash kernels and cm7 and all that just gotta do.ot the way the guide says for the new hboot in the dev section go read up
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Im also on HBoot 1.5 and just said F It and went with the HTC method.
I am able to flash any rom / kernal so all is well.
Only down side I see is that you cant go back to 100% stock.

I lucked out and got a 1.40 hboot shipped directly from Sprint. I couldn't wait to get home to check.
Suddenly my one stuck pixel on a brand new 1.4hboot doesn't sound so bad. But then again I got mine replaced like a month or so ago.
Sad to hear they're already starting to ship 1.5 hboots, can you guys w/ the 1.5s do me a favor? Can you check if its refurbed or not? (I know sometimes the stickers say its refurbed, I had my replacement replaced three times, two times in came in a brand new box with everything, and one with a refurbed sticker and box but was 100% brand new)
To check type ##786# and check what it says for Reconditioned Status, also it'll tell you the lifetime calls, if it matches with what you've used it, then it's new. I'm just wondering if they're already shipping 1.5 from factory that way, or if they are just updating them as they refurb them.
Thanks!

HTC Bootloader Unlock

I take no credit for anything. but just wanted to post this here in case there is something involved that will help the Dev's in getting the bootloader unlocked faster. Apparently this should work on any device that can use HTC's unlock method.
DEV's, maybe there is something here or atleast this guy who created would be able to help......
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24370319#post24370319
They are probably going to wait till sprint gets theirs released so HTC wont patch it real fast before release.
I'm sceptical about moving from locked BL to another. I'm using the epic now but had the photon before that and motorola just killed the rom experience for me with super encrypting the 4G keys.
That being said I believe the One X folks are still having issues with kernels and the temp partition directory
Definitely will be on the lookout. over/under on root for EVO LTE? 4 Days after launch?
To be honest, don't think it will even take that long if the bootloader isn't locked down. Some of these devs seem to work magic with how fast the *hit comes out.
A root method using htcdev unlock I say 90 mins after one of the devs gets it hooked up to a computer to check partitions, and update cwm and a create a superuser.zip that can be flashed, A root method not using HTC unlock I am thinking by the 21st so 3 days.
S-off I am not so sure on, but hoping that support document about the phone being in non user mode and describing how it got in said mode may help

According to the thread you linked to, that exploit is already patched. It doesn't look like it is going to help us. While OP's knowledge may help, his tool in its current state, doesn't seem like it will help.

It's using HTC'S Unlock Tool. It still just unlocks your bootloader but leaves you S-On. As I figured and stated in the main thread I figured our phone would be unlockable with their tool. As history has shown every other Sprint phone is unlockable. People were getting worried cause AT&T's One X wasn't. Every other One X was unlockable and AT&T is notorious for locking their phones so this was expected.

1. just 5 posts, cause im new here, im a russian developer and mostly making mods & tweaks for russian "xda-analogue" called 4pda.
2. long wait? Its not a long wait for s-off, need to do few more things and compile everything normally.
3. All DNA for now comes with date 23, Oct. Checked 4 devices.
4. Im current;y at home, tommorow will be at work, and will make few photos with a piece of paper with my nickname, no problems with that.
5. Its not test-device for reviewers, this device was bought less then a week ago.
6. Yes, u can get locked status again, instead of re-locked.

I can't help but laugh/reply at this one. Soooo if all other information is top secret, can we meet up and you give me the scoup since i hold a Top Secret-SCI?
I'm gonna guess the method was probably leaked to the OP via someone inside HTC. Sometimes those leaks come with conditions, so the wait is expected. Waiting a couple months, when every other One series phone has been waiting for the better part of a year is definitely OK in my book.
If this is accurate, and it looks to be, having a working s-off method will be amazing.

[WHAT?!] Bootloader Unlockable!?

Hey guys!
A fellow AT&T One owner was able to get an unlock.bin file from htcdev.com, leading me to believe that the bootloader on the AT&T HTC One might actually be unlockable. He has not gotten back to me with a picture of the HBOOT screen saying that it is unlocked, but the fact that he was able to get an unlock.bin file means that he got pretty far into the process.
Please go to htcdev.com and try to unlock your bootloader and report back here with results.
Thanks!

Someone posted this in another thread. I'm getting so excited. If this is true, I am cancelling the Dev Edition and going into whatever AT&T store within 100 miles is willing to sell it to me early and picking this up tomorrow.

I may buy one local too if they will sell. I'll Keep the pre-order dev edition also. With 2 i'll have a better chance of getting a flawless one Plus i'll have one in hand while the other is sent back for gap replacement (assuming it has a gap) plus I dont think i'll have a problem selling it....Once you see this phone in person and hold it you will want it.

That's why I'm getting two. I'm sure I'll sell one after a while, but I want to make darn sure I get a flawless one.

Good enough for me, was on the fence with this phone for that reason. Can't wait til it's in my hands
So I got my phone today and I was able to get it unlocked but not sure the best method to get it rooted and to get a recovery installed. Any help would be awesome.
Thanks

So I was able to unlock on the HTCDev site and have used the All in one Kit to root and install clockwork recovery.
Just a heads up that it says ***TAMPERED on the bootloaded screen. LOL From what I read this is not a big deal.
Tampered comes from rooting

If you just unlock and flash a rom with root will it still show that? Or is it a result of unlocking also

Thanks!

Just because the bootloader is unlocked doesn't mean you can flash a kernel from a custom recovery. The (AT&T) One X+ was able to have an unlocked bootloader, but you still couldn't flash a kernel from a custom recovery.
Tapered comes from altering/removing stock is in any way
Help me unlock?!
I've got my One, just delivered today. I have *never* owned an Android before. So, this is super brand new for me. I have NO idea what I'm doing. I'm reasonably tech savvy, but I don't have time to google my bum off and do the self-teaching, since time is short... I want to get this bootloader unlocked-- How do I do it? I seriously have no clue. I have found the htcdev site, but I don't have any idea what to do with it, or what you have to do first, ANYTHING. Can someone give me a brief step by step on this?? You can assume that I'm smart and can figure out what you're talking about-- I just need brief step by step instructions. Please??
Go to HTC dev. Create an account for yourself
Click unlock boot loader. From the drop down menu choose other. Follow the directions from there
