I would LOVE to get it as well....it was in the DEV devices sent out before release to companies for review but from what I have seen, we cannot get it yet....nvidia should release the apk...or maybe its ASUS though because that just boast the awesomeness of the tegra 3 even more

Just use system tuner app. Its the best. Does what you say n alot more.

ICS update processor speed increase

Did anyone else notice that the processor speed is now saying 1.6 ghz? Did the ICS update increase the default clock speed? Speeds checked in setcpu and smart bench.

Several threads on this already actually
Yes others have noticed what you are referring to, no your TFP is not clocked at 1.6 now.
I'm pretty sure the maximum clock speed is set at 1.6GHz only but it's currently clock speed is only at 1.3GHz.
Sent for my Transformed Transformer Prime :>
It only reaches 1.6ghz while browsing the Asus website.
I must be missing it, what do you use to monitor the processor speed?

Damn you Asus. I knew they would add a great new feature only to limit it some way. Lol.

There are plenty of apps in the market for this.
Sorry if there were other threads, the search function on the android app sucks. I looked at the first 40 or so posts in Q&A and General before posting and didn't see anything.

We wontbe able to know till we get there. No where to tell but It has a great possibility of being pretty stable. Yes tegra3 does really have 5 cores. 4 cores n 1 companion core. The companion core is what helps gives us great battery life.
I read on one web site that will be tegra3 used in the automotive industry! I cant wait to see tegra4 with 8cores and Cortex-A15 chip

Quad core with companion core monitor app

Does anyone know where to get that app that was on the demo TP's? I saw it in one of the review video's, it showed how much load was on each core after the companion core was maxed out...
Cant find one in the market, TY.

You will only get it from nVidia.
Unfortunately, I believe Sontin may be correct. That was an extremely cool application, and anyone who loves the Prime has probably tried to find it at one time or another. I never had any luck, and I am usually pretty good at ferreting out what I want from somewhere or other. That app is not in the wild, as far as I can tell. Shame, since it would be "fun and educational" to play with.
If anyone can prove my statements wrong, I gladly invite you to do so, with a link, of course.
Maybe a Developer could make one?

From what I understand, the companion core is invisible to the Android kernel. Likely NVIDIA had a custom kernel running on their test units and demo units to allow the companion core to be seen by the kernel.
Thus, it's my theory that even if we had that app, we'd need ASUS' test kernel for it to work properly.
I'd definitely love to see this. Even with .14, I'm not convinced we're yet getting the best battery life out of this thing, and I'm wondering if the system isn't dropping down to the companion core as often/as quickly as it should. I'm burning about 15%/hour when browsing, using Greader, that sort of stuff, and around 10%/hour when simply ebook reading using the B&N Nook app (at lowest brightness). I'm thinking we should be seeing better than that.

Cool app, but doesn't seem like it shows the companion core, unless I'm missing something.

I found the video and the link is in the thread... If people can make a cpu monitor that showes a dual core as a quad core because of the multi threading itdoes then someone can dupelicate this this app...

When the first demo`s of the TP went out XDA posted A data dump of one after they rooted it , there should be a copy of that app in that code!
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
Oooh! I'd forgotten all about that...
Yeah, the companion core is supposed to be inaccessible. We'd have to cook up some custom kernels and some other hardcore stuff to even get their app to work I would think.

Core control working on tf300t

As i own a HOX I thought might as well try the "corecontrol" app from the hox sub forum and so far it seems to work well. One thing I noticed is that when I booted the app it said only one core was active. Easily fixed it by activating the 4 core. Anyways hopefully we can get a real port of this.

I love it I have the international One with the Tegra 3! Be careful about the build quality though. Buy it locally o if you have any problems with it just get a quick exchange. My first and only one X has been perfect from day one but on the forums there has been quite a few complaints. My favorite part is the screen because it's so crisp nd realistic! The camera is fantastic and the battery life seems to get better over time. I ended up buying a small external battery for $30 bucks which gives it one full charge, so I'm not complaining. Sense ui is nice but I like to switch between aosp roms and sense roms regularly. Sense roms are much better from my experience. It's a nice device beside my Transormer Pad 300t.

So how many cores should we run? Does anyone want to share there battery profiles? ...thanks for any advice!
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF300T using Tapatalk 2
The one core running is the "5th" core that is used for lower intensity tasks like browsing and what not. Supposed to preserve battery. Once you start something more intense all 4 kick on. At least that is how it is supposed to work. I don't know how well oems have been able to optimize this chip, seems most devices on tegra 3 have some..uh.. quirks.

That would be impossible because the Android system can't see or control the companion core. It kicks in when the device is in deep sleep.

This doesn't work for me.
Pass me your apk.
No lag for me when I'm playing on balanced mode 1.3 ghz proc speed. I play it with [email protected] v2 rom and kernel so u can play it with 1.66 ghz.
But there is no lag for me on 1.3 ghz.

Yes confirmed running smooth on CleanRom 2.5 w/ clock speed at 1.3 and in balanced mode.
This games is the best racing game i've ever played on a mobile device. Graphics are incredible and are pretty close to that of a PS3. Also love the fact that you can download the official LWP with purchase of the game. LWP is awesome and matches my Red TF300t.
Any of you cheapos out there, this game is definitely worth buying.

how long did it take you guys to download the data of this game?, i believe after downloading it has to extract something like 2000 files and it's taking damn long on my tf300. it's been about 30 minutes and still not done. the flash storage asus uses is really really slow (yeah i know this i/o issue has been discussed before but still we have no solution)
