Is there any way that Android could integrate social networks like Facebook? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Similar to iOS, is there any way that ICS, perhaps to incorporate Facebook or any other social networking sites to its OS?

On my phone I get FB notifications (although I often turn the feature off because it gets on my nerves) and I can sync contacts.
What features are you hoping of having integrated or 'incorporated', exactly, and why?

They could do but we will have top wait and see of they do.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Google +. I wish they could do those cool "Publish to wall" status for Google + directly as an option after taking a picture or something alike.

what do u mean by integraed .its already there in my phone ......the contact pictures are synced with the fb pictures and the notifications r there

Where exactly does iOS have social network integration other than Twitter?

what I meant is, for example, after taking pictures, you have the option to upload the image to twitter (on iOS). I mean, those simple stuff that could be integrated by android by their own ways to avoid copyright problems.

Uhhh, yeah. My phone can do that, automatically with a setting...though it doesn't give the option if set.. Look under sync settings, and in the settings for G+. I'm pretty sure Gingerbread phones could also do that.

You can do that already. Once you sign in to your Facebook/Twitter account on Android, you can share pictures and videos directly to them. Take a picture>Gallery>Share>Facebook/Twitter. It's a much better system than iOS.
In iOS, Apple has to specifically enable sharing, like they did for Twitter. But in Android, the share menu is universally accessible, so any application can integrate into the share menu if it wants to allow stuff to be shared easily to it.
Click thanks if I've helped you.

I suppose I haven't seen the all out potential of android. I apologize for being a newbie...

[Q] Is there an app for...

I am not big on the whole facebook or myspace thing, but I saw a commercial for a winbloze fone that had an interesting feature/app and was wondering if there is something like that for android (vibrant).
It had a window split in to fourths, one part was for notifications via facebook, one for myspace, one for twiiter, one for sms/emails.
is there anything like this? Could something like this be created?
That's not an app - that's Windows Phone 7.
Vibrant has similar, with the Feeds & Updates widget.

There is an app launcher like this. Its called "Windows Phone Android." I've seen it before and it spreaded thru twitter like wildfire, but it never caught interest for me. IMO i dont think its ready for primetime just yet as it does seem buggy and lacks some nice features.
theres an app for that.... haha

[APP] Google Docs

Google released a google docs app. the interface is nice but if you want to edit or read something it launches a build in browser. It's a start

I dont like all the rights it needs ... looking into my private protocol files ? Why would they want to know what I installed when and how ?? >>
Dont they already know it i think it's more a thing to look in log files when it crashes. and somethimes there can be sensitive information in the logs. But the app is from google so i believe we can trust it (a little)
Yeah lol if they wanted to be malicious or annoying they already have that info since the Marketplace is theirs anyways. They don't need to do it through an app lol.

I have to say I wasn't familiar with Instagram directly, but it's difficult to read mobile news blogs without having ran across a lot of hype and fanfair about this apps impending arrival.
Is this what the iOS community is so endeared to? I can't really grasp the appeal of this rather pointless basic and silly app.
I honestly don't understand why Instagram is so damned popular.
Wasn't it the Apple AppStore App of the year?
I read an article somewhre that talked about how Iphone users were like, "ew, Instagram is on android, " and crap like that. i guess the hipsters can keep their crappy app. I like pixlr-o-matic and camera zoom better anyway!
is the camera settings button missing from the vibrant version of the app? i'm able to navigate to the settings section but there isn't anywhere to change the camera settings as i've seen mentioned in various places.

Baffled by Hangouts

I am completely blown away with how terrible hangouts is. Other than aesthetics, the app is horrible.
1. No clean buddy list for GTalk friends. This one blows my mind. There is also not a separate list for phone contacts, which again, numbs my brain.
2. Much like the "most contacted" feature in gmail (I use the term "feature" sarcastically) you cannot change who is on your top list, nor do you have an option to hide it. You cant even erase who is listed there. This is absolutely garbage and needs to be removed.
FIXES:
1. Obviously, make a GTalk buddy list view.
2. Remove the "most contacted" area of hangouts. Stop being presumptuous and putting an ex-girlfriend on my most contacted list, who is no longer even in my phone or contacts list on Google...

What happened to voice call?
In google talk you could voice call someone without the video feature running concurrently. Do you always have to video chat with someone in order to communicate via audio? Am I missing something here. The voice only feature in Talk seemed to work a lot better especially with slow connections. How can I download the old Google Talk(last version) without have to do an OS reinstall on my phone and tablet? It really sucks that Google removed Talk from my devices under the guise of upgrading the program.

Go to Settings>Apps>Hangouts>Uninstall updates
you'll get your gtalk back
I know that current version is not upto the mark
but we can expect great additions later . After all its developed by those who developed Gtalk in the first place !
Also you can send your feedback , that will always help to improve your experience in the future

The current version sucks. Why take away something I'm already using that works and replace it with something that doesn't have the current features I'm enjoying? If you want to beta test their software go ahead.

Hahaha, this. So much this.
To be fair, it's not just Google that does this sort of thing, the Windows 8 People Hub is even worse. Interesting that communication applications that allegedly put the user first don't make allowances for a tragically common component of regular human interaction - the break-up.

Relax bro. Calmate wey.
What device is it? You may need to flash it fully or wipe from recovery. First, find out if they're logged into your Google, or using your Google with their own device and syncing it to their device so they get a constant stream of your information without you knowing. Google could sync your contacts, pictures, calendar etc. Occam's razor.
Go check google for authorized devices and unlink any that aren't you

In what ways are they "hacking" your device? What activities have you seen that confirm this?
Have you changed your passwords, logged out of all sessions, and turned on two-factor authentication on all of your social media profiles experiencing these issues? It sounds more like someone has access to some of your accounts, not your device specifically.
