cannot change bootanimation - HTC EVO 3D

I have my own deodexed, and fully rooted Rogers Rom.
No matter what I remove or add I cant seem to get my custom bootanimation to load.
I added the function of it with dsixdas Rom Kitchen tool, so i get a place in data/local to add a bootanimation. I added one in there, didnt work.
I then looked in system/customize/resources in here I had a bootanimation, downanimation, Rogersbootanimation, Rogersdownanimation.
I removed both Rogers animations, then replaced the other bootanimation with my one.
Still nothing, the only bootnaimation i get is a black screen with ANDROID in the centre.
No matter what i do cant get it to see my bootanimation??
Any ideas

Rename yours to whatever the stock one is called. Rogers_bootanimation probably. You can do the same for the down animation as well. Overwrite the files in the folder.

Lost boot animation, I've got nothing...

Not that I mind too terribly much but when I installed dmesg and ran it I lost my boot animation all together. Fun.
I'm rooted on 4.1.57 running GreyBlur 2.1 or whatever the newest is. I used root explorer and made sure there is a bootanimation.zip file where it belongs. Tried manually adding different boot animation zips via rootexplorer. Nada.
Am I missing something?
You can try this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042736, but I don't really know if it will work or not. It is a theme removal app which will also allow you to attempt to reset your boot animation to stock. Has worked for me. It will only replace the bootanimation.zip but won't change any of the settings that call it., so if those are messed up then this won't help.
Just make sure you say no to the first question in the bat or else it will maul your greyblur theming.
Awesome! Ill give that a shot once I can get on a windows machine at work tomorrow. Luckily this isn't a life or death problem.

You can also download one of the fine boot animations here in the forum straight to your device and then copy it to the /system/media directory on your phone.
heres two I made

just deleted tmobile boot animation

Just deleted the boot animation from tmobile which is under system/customize/resources. The original HTC boot animation exist under the same folder called bootanimation.zip and downanmiation.zip, but don't know how to activated it. Now when I start my phone I get the old ORIGINAL android boot screen not HTC animation. I deleted TMOUS_bootanimation.zips and TMOUS_downanimation.zip from the folder (make sure to back it up on SD card if you do this)...I hated that crap....I was wondering if anyone knows how to get the orignal HTC boot animations for startup and shutdown working (the files bootanimation.zip and downanmination.zip)...what file do I have to edit...thanks
the htc bootanimation file is bootanimation.zip and turn off animation is downanimation.zip....these files are all under system/customize/resources just wondering how I can use them or activate them instead of getting the original android boot animation.
I BACKED UP (ON MY SD CARD) TMOUS_bootanimation.zip and TMOUS_DOWNANIMATION.ZIP
thanks
Place in system/ media.

Problem with boot...

..with the bootanimation, yes again...
So, I installed a costum ROM, whit was making big problems for me, changed it, but that sucker bootanimation still there. Deleted from the system/media folder the bootanimation.zip file, replaced the BOOTSAMSUNG and BOOTSAMSUNGLOOP.QMG files....now, i get an animation, but on the startup screen that ugly image still appears...
is there any flashable apk file whic will change back the fon to its stock animation or i can explode this phone?

find the bootanimation.zip (often located in System/media or in Data/local) and erase it. I usually do this, or, better, go back to samsung stock rom, I advice you XXKI3, is a full rom and it has a pit file. You shouldn t have problem. bye
Are you talking about the bootscreen BEFORE the bootanimation, by any chance?
If so, that's my cue
Grab this: https://market.android.com/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.sgs2bootlogo
and go wild on changing it back to w/e you want.
If you grab the file "param.lfs" from a stock ROM update .tar, you can also revert to the original Sammy screen.
If this WASN'T your issue - just silently ignore me

Rogers boot logo

Hey guys, is there a way to remove the rogers logo on bootanimation, i'm rooted ics and i tried the bootanimation.zip( ex.Nexus7...etc) with root explorer, changed permission, but it's not working, thanks
You'll need a custom kernel that supports bootanimation.zip
Hotwire's oc r2 should do you up nicely.

Ok, but it's not working, maybe i still a Rom for the Rogers GNote to be able to make it work..
Samsung is using .qmg files for bootanimation, Samsung themes are created using the Samsung Theme Designer application. When the designer exports a theme, QMG files (originally .PNG files) are compiled and packaged into an SMT file along with an XML file that specifies where the QMG files are displayed in the theme.
This is a pretty old thread, has there been any progress on it?
I'm running ICS 4.04 with the R2 H0tw1r3 kernel and it doesn't seem to support boot animations.
I've tried a couple fixes like flashing bootanimation4u.zip, placing boot animation files in the appropriate directories and changing permissions etc.
The best I've been able to get is no boot animation, even that took a few tries.

Stock bootanimation?

Unlike some people, I actually like having the stock At&t boot animation; with the sound. Would anyone be able to upload theirs?

the stock at&t one is named this.... att_bootup_one.zip,sound file is called PowerUp.mp3 unless the link posted was renamed thats not the correct file...and in the customizations youll have to change a line to match this:
system\customize\CID\default.xml
<BootAnimation animation="/system/customize/resource/att_bootup_one.zip" audio="/system/customize/resource/PowerUp.mp3" />

Whoa I've been searching for this a lot, the phone already has the Google boot inside that folder and the HTC startup sound, you just gotta edit the xml, now I'm happy, hated seeing the AT&T logo a boot, that was the only bloatware left, but thanks to this now I've got the Google animation, thanks!
bootanimation problem
Gotta feeling I'll get help here so I'll post here.
So I'm running HTC m8 stock rooted verRom 2.23.502.3.
Xposed installed with sense 6 toolbox and HTC tweaker.
Trying to change boot animation but not working after trying methods suggested on xda post.
What I ended up doing was using esfile explorer and set root access went into /system/customize/resources and renamed the boot animation file to att_bootanimation.zip from att_boot up_one.zip. just wanted to see what would happen. Afterwards, I rebooted and the att boot animation changed to a quiet black screen with a flashing "android" in center. Unexpected but I prefer it over the original. But I'd still like to change it to a cooler customized one. But the various zip file I try to install in /resource place doesn't stick. So any suggestions????
Also I have busybox installed with softkeyz app. Just in case this rings a bell for anyone reading this.
Any clues would be much appreciated.
